I actually just beat this game. Here is what I think.
BEFORE ANYTHING, don't play XB2 if you haven't played XB1.
Pros:
-Looks good
-Combat system is actually really good once you learn all the mechanics
-Lots and lots and lots of content, can easily push 300 hours if you want to do everything
-The story is pretty good as far as JRPGs go
-You will most likely leave with a new girl to fap to
Cons:
-The menuing is a clusterfuck of bullshit. Way too many clicks to get to the screens you want, the entire Blade equipping and moving around is just poorly designed.
-The map button and the menu button should have been switch fuck you Monolith Soft
-Sometimes when you open a chest or beat an enemy all their loot falls off a cliff and you get NOTHING
-FREE Gacha system (might be a Pro if you're a gambler)
-Takes WAY too long to give you everything to understand the gameplay systems
Extra notes:
-The expansion DLC is really good. It's a good game to play. I recommend it. In fact, all the DLC is good and should improve your enjoyment with the game especially the DLC blades
-There are Japanese voice overs you can download. Some people prefer them. I ended up not using them because combat dialogue and ambient party banter is in Japanese with no way to subtitle them so its possible to miss out on fun dialogue.
-If you have Nintendo Online you can save scum your gacha pulls. Just turn off automatic backups, upload your save to the cloud, load game and open the cores - don't get what you want? Redownload your save from the cloud and try again.

Biggest problem about combat is there is no menu to read previous tutorials or how to do certain things. Once you go past that part it's first shown you better remember it.

Okay let me elaborate.
It looks good for a title on Switch. The character models are fantastic. The world not so much. You see some issues in Gormott near the big t-rex. Especially if you play handheld, which you should never do anyway for any game.
But really, for a game like this the character models are what matter the most and 98% of the characters that matter in game look good, the only truly ugly character model in the game is Godfrey because his bloom is set to maximum
But as far as Switch titles, its nice looking. It's not as good looking as some of the others but it's definitely up there.
