Simply the fact that it has an episodic release, makes me believe that huge chunks will be cut in the remake. Episode 1 will probably cover midgar. But I cant imagine them having all the parts of the open world, that the original had.

I'd expect exactly the opposite and that it will having massively more content than the original given the extended dev time. Midgar will likely allow you to access more sectors than the original and actually take advantage of the train for instance, and the overworld will likely use FFXV tech to let it be properly massive.

I did. But I've also been around long enough to know that trailers mean precisely jack shit. SE's good at making trailers, but not necessarily games. I haven't really been impressed with SE ever, really. I liked Squaresoft though. And even if the incompetent idiots at SE managed to actually make the remake good, I just know it won't really be the same.

DS version, and I think it did decently, just not FF numbers, so they don't care about it.
