What would be, in your opinion, the ideal game using the Digimon franchise?
What would be, in your opinion, the ideal game using the Digimon franchise?
A combination TCG and ARPG. Half emulating the card game, the other half using the cards like Season 3 to power up 'real' digimon.
Dating sim for all the waifu bait and sexy digimon
Some Final Fantasy 15 type of game
This without mons die of old age
Three different answers. Fun. Personally I think that whatever we get, I'd ideally want an RPG of some sorts, be it action, turn based, or otherwise, maybe give it some exploration elements if it's set in the Digital World, as it's easy to make it seem huge.
a good one
Digimon World but not a buggy fucking mess.
Also you get to control the Digimon, maybe like Ni No Kuni.
Fix it so everything doesn't fucking die right away.
Maybe make it easier to get the Digimon you want as well.
I never played ReDigitize or whatever so maybe they did some of this but I wouldn't know.
Imagine having big Digimon feet you could always cuddle with in your bed at night
If digimon aren't real by 2035 I'm killing myself
Take Transformers Devastation (action game with light RPG elements and several characters) and substitute in the cast of Frontier, replacing vehicle/gun mechanics with Human/Beast spirit switching mechanics.
Rumble Arena 3 would be neat too if it was like the original.
Just take Ark and replace the Dinos with digimon or pokemon.
This would probably be the best way to adapt Frontier to a palatable game format as well as a good excuse to make hybrid spirits for all the villains.
I need to play Digimon World 1 sometime. In fact, I feel like I've committed a crime for not doing so.
DW1 and DW3
Basically but with modern graphics, a larger world, and more digimon.
Action RPG like dothack style combat where you can control digivolutions and no fucking turn based menu navigation bullshit
Pokemon, but with Digimon.
a modern DW3 without so much backtracking
I prefer turn-based RPGs, so some thing build upon what the Cybersleuth games. Put in more Digimon and give it some good quality English voice acting along side the regular Japanese. Add in some Armor and Spirit evolutions.
A game as big as DMO without the grind, with more Digimon than even Digimon Dawn and Dusk, with battles like Cyber Sleuth and an optional difficulty setting that made digivolution function more like Digimon World
Also put in all the Armor Digivolutions and all the guys from Frontier
digimon musou
>Story driven action RPG
>Start off with an egg
>Lots of events to determine what it hatches into, its personality, and its evolutions
>They're your sole partner.
>Control them during combat, with the option to let the AI take over and use your tamer for certain actions
>Beat up a Rookies with your bare fists, or set up traps to help your partner take out stronger foes
Digimon mystery dungeon
You somehow become a spirit Digimon like in frontier but its not like a beast or human hybrid it’s just a Digimon but you also have your partner and you do Pokémon mystery dungeon things
Literally Next Order, but it just felt like a soulless cash grab instead of a genuine experience.
One where the digimon fucks me
Exploration action RPG or similar, doesn’t matter how, as long as it’s good. Also a successor to World 4 would be nice, but fully-fledged and way better.
This would be a god-tier alternative, should have been a mainstay spin-off series a long time ago. There is so much fucking “what could have been” with Digimon.
I actually thought both cyber sleuth games were great.
DW1 with more Digimon and a bigger world. Keep the hand drawn assets and the top down view. Fuck everything about those awful Nepshit looking remakes. Quality of life improvements and increasing the scale of the game are good, sterilizing the art style and streamlining everything is not.
Cyber Sleuth is criminally good, it gave Digimon a second lease at life. Practically anything from this thread would be amazing as long as it’s not done by dogshit developers, but the series also needs to grow out of the sterilized budget look from Vita era japanese games.
A DMC/Bayonetta-style game where you pick a Digimon and play through the game fighting other Digimon and digital monstrosities trying to stop a corruption or supreme evil thing.
How is a poorfag supposed to play that? No way to emulate wtf it's not fair.
>digimon story gameplay
>entire game takes place in the digital world, with tons of content and tons of side quests
>pretty much every digimon and appmon in existence is available to use, within reason (i.e. none of that shoutmon x5b1c4a9x crap from xros wars)
>combat is rebalanced so that non-piercing mons are viable in the late game
>underused groups like the three musketeers, ban-tyo, the d-brigade, olympos xii, etc. have roles in the story and get developed as characters
>smt-esque alignment system where you can choose to side with the royal knights or the demon lords
>persona-esque "social link" with your starter digimon that changes based on how you evolve it
>the ending isn't the same old cliched "reboot" that separates the human characters from their partnermons
Look at this Digimon. Let's be honest. You would do something with this Digimon.
>wanting to be a widow
Pretty sure the first one goes on sale for less than $10 all the time
Barafags ruined Leomon for me. Always thought he was a bad ass. Gas all fags.
Digimon Card Battle 2
3rd person combat game where you play as a digimon. Kill your way to the top or ally with other digimon to the point of creating your own personal army/nation. Reach the peak of Digivolution and fight the old gods of the realm for your place on the top of the food chain.
Die and you get to do it all over again from the very beginning. Every form of digivolution represented as a possible path.
Want the spirits, hunt them down. Digi-armor, dig it up. Old fashioned way, kill for it. Warp digivolution, find the secret way for each digimon and literally rocket your way right to divinity.
Of course making something like this is fucking impossible with the 1000+ digimon they currently have fucking around, but it's fun to dream.
i want an rpg that captures the feel of the anime, exploring a digital world with your loyal digimon partner.
This will probably be incredibly controversial but i rather have a cast of human digidestined with specific digimon that go through an arc than playing pokemon lite.
Either mystery dungeon or
Open world, shadow of the collosus style digimon game where giant digimon could kill you like a bug but you or your digimon if it's a tamer thing can become giant, like in the show.
Alternatively more like SMT with movement and strategy.
This fits into
If we go the SMT route.
It should just be a FE game done digimon style. Transformation mid battle after putting in work or something. I love digimon but the terrible graphics and shit story in cyber sleuth as well as generic turn based system did me in. Could finish either of them. It would be so easy to make digimon cool again
I hate Digimon designs. This is something the designers looked at and said, "yeah, that's good."
>an entire line devoted to poop mons or mons that utilize poop in their attacks
Based scat fetishers
Just one that's good.
Anything that isn't mobileshit and has every single digimon. Like, why even bother if you aren't gonna add them all?
I like the standard turn based RPG that some Digimon games usually manage.
But if I were to chose based completely on my personal taste then I would choose Digimon world championship 2
>being this much in denial
it's 2019 it's okay to come out of the closet
Is ok, Digimon are based on stuff from the internet, that one is based on Yea Forums.
>Have digimon who is cute little thing you could carry on your back wherever you went
>Digivolves into this and is confused why you won't carry her anymore
Digimon World 1 but with improved gameplay and an actual interesting story that involves around the digimon more instead of the humans.
Next Order feels like one step forward and two steps backwards gameplay mechanic wise, I like that you can train 2 digimon at once, can actually see in-game what you need to do and even control what digivolution you want to get for your partners, but I hated how they made the stat grind more time consuming and tedious since improving your tamer level/getting more training skills barely helps you with making training newer Digimon any less of a pain in the ass and they increased the stat cap from 999 to 9999.
The story was also pretty shit, because it focuses more on the human characters instead of solving the mystery of why the digimon went rogue like in the first game.
A return to Digimon World's V-pet focus.
It would have all Digimon up to V-pet 6, plus guys up to Mugendramon. Basically all Digimon up to about 1999. The reason? It's not genwunning, it's more about the fact that Digimon are data and "evolving" from one species into a variant of that same species in the next stage is just boring. I prefer it when it was like marshmallowreptilewolfandroid. That shit was much more appealing and made the theme of being in a digital world much more relevant than "it's like Pokémon with more robots".
Although, it would need something like an app that can carry your data for on-the-fly battles; it would need to make it actually fun for your Digimon to die and be reborn in a new form, and it'd need a compelling world to convey its story rather than "plain ass island with some oddly placed human stuff scattered around".
Which one should I buy? Hacker's Memory or Next Order?
bump
I mean, she could carry you.
Do you want a monster raising sim or do you want a turnbase rpg?
