But regardless, they can't ban you physically holding your cards, they can't ban you buying cards from a 3rd party, they can't ban you from hosting a tournament at your own house with your own 3rd party cards, and while they can ban you from their official events, they can't ban you from playing the game.

Every set has a few story cards. It says story spotlight right at the bottom of the card. You can usually piece together the story from either their description or just the card's name.
You make a decent arguement, but it's getting a lot harder these days. A good poker player can grind $2/$5 live games for ~$70/hr. Playing a perfect game of BJ can net you more if you're rolled for it but you WILL get cooled off by the pit well before you make a decent living. And even if you find that perfect game and can run a perfect count, you're looking at maybe 53% +ev. You can find a lot more equitable spots in poker, especially live games.
