both hit the road and the telltale games are good places to start, the Telltale games kinda drag at the start but a lot of the dialog saves the boring scenarios
If you want some more context you can read the comics they originated from or watch the Fox Kids tv show, ran for one season and is all on youtube, kinda cheesy but still a decent laugh, probably the weakest piece of sam and max material though.
