Part 5 is legitimately bad overall.

The isolated good bits like Grateful Dead and Beach Boy can't save it from being a shitshow. Crew is terribly fleshed out and a lot of the characters are badly written, pacing is molasses for what is supposed to be a 4 day span of time, all the good adversaries are wasted on monster of the week shit that clashes horribly with the story format, the boss and his powers are inconsistent and nonsensical, and it barely feels like it's about the mob.

Boss should have been killed early and had the part focus on gang warfare over passione between Squadra and Bruno's team. Monster of the week works for a road trip and slice of life but it kneecapped the potential of part 5

In return, Stand powers get way more creative after Part 3.

Unpopular opinion: The ova is still the better iteration of part 3. Its gritter and darker nature serves as an more entry level for those not used yet to the "bizarre" setting of the original, making it a good entry level to the series and its what i mostly recommend if you never seen anything jojo like and want to know what the series is about. Too bad about the voice acting though, the anime is way ahead on that department compared to the ova, and in some other specifics cases, like DIO road roller.

Oh, and part 4 anime sucks hard, the pacing and overall quality of the animation is just too fuckin bad. At least Kira is a top tier villain, and every scene hes in is kino, no questions about it.

part 4 was the one with glaring flaws: jotaro shoehorning, joseph turns out useless, everyone but koichi grows up, the shots aren't as memorable as the manga since it moves (Tonio being butt mad in the manga is the traditionnal 1 page full body shot for the start of a fight, in the anime it lasts 2 seconds, the spectator don't really have the time to enjoy it before he shows the soap)
The pacing is way worse because part 4 is where araki really dropped the fuckhuge explanation bubbles, okuyasu standing on the bike for almost a full minute talking about his ability is boring

even stuff that is heavily foreshadowed and established in the story like Gold Experience Requiem and Star Platinum The World still ends up being power ups that rob us of actually interesting fights post power-up

King Crimson is built up as a massive but not completely invincible threat and Giorno finally gets a fighting chance to engage with him directly after getting the arrow, but then it just ends because it's a win button that negates the enemy ability completely, like how Jotaro learning time stop negates DIO's time stop and his final defeat has nothing to do with the heroes figuring a way to get around that ability

same thing with Tusk Act IV and Weather Report to a lesser extent, but at least in those cases it would be functionally impossible to beat the villain without a power that counters them

This exactly why I like the part 4 finale so much.
It really comes down to JoJo & Friends (tm) cornering the shit out of Kira to the point where he has to recall his UNBEATABLE ABILITY, and then BTFOing him in a straight battle.
Even though Jotaro steals the spotlight at the end.

Can insert and propagate zombie cells inside any living creature that will eventually allow me to control them completely. Where they are inserted is randomized. The more I control, The stronger I can get but too many (also randomized every time I use it, but cant be less than 2) and I will die by exploding and spread zombie cells in the surrounding area.
