Is this worth getting into? I like grindy games focused only getting better gear etc. I want it on PC though.
Is this worth getting into? I like grindy games focused only getting better gear etc. I want it on PC though
Yeah it's alright. The controls take a while to get used to though.
MHW is on PC and its a really good game but definitely not the best title in the series. You should be able to emulate the PSP games. I dumped 400+ hours into MHFU by myself
If you want to grind you're better off playing the older games. MHW doesn't have enough gear to make the grind interesting.
Isn’t the PC version a few patches behind or something?
I like the idea that I can play online though
The delusion.
it's not that grindy unless you need plates, gems, or decorations
you can craft everything with 1-2 hunts 3 max.
How is that delusion? I’m not that user but I started with MHGU and have been playing World and honestly the former is much more fun with all the different hunter styles and arts and stuff.
The PC is 90% caught up to Consoles.
All it's missng is the Ryu & Sakura layered armor, Alloy which isn't happening since that games PS4 only, and the Summer Festival shit which will come this summer.
Nearly all of them are online pal there’s even an mmo
GU is definitely worth playing alongside Warudo. None of the other previous games are at this point in time.
All I have is a PC and PS4, so I can only play the newest one right?
Just wait for Iceborne honestly
You can emulate.
Citra even lets you play with people who play with legit copies on 3DS/Switch.
Isn’t that an add on / DLC for MHW?
Really? That’s sick. I did actually forget I have a switch cause I never touch it, would that be better than emulation?
Yeah GU is great on switch.
Tons of content and gear.
Iceborne is an expansion that adds a shitload, it's the new generations way of implementing G rank which was a seperate game before World.
I could take MHW off my friend (PS4) or buy it on PC or buy MHGU on switch. What do you suggest? I have a friend who I can play with on PC or PS4
GU is a better MH game but if your friend plays MHW then go with that.
Get it on PC.
>faster load times
>longer lasting community
>mods to keep things fresh
>90% aught up to consoles anyways
>better framerate
>tweaks and fixes for better game performance
>The PC is 90% caught up to Consoles.
For now. When Iceborne releases on PC 6 months after consoles it's just going to be playing catch up again for another year
How do you feel about doing one of about 4 fights over and over for 100+ hours?
you know whats funny, an MMO has more dungeons but they still all feel the same.
Somehow a monster hunt in Monster Hunter never feels the same twice
How so? I know there are a lot of monster types. Are you saying they all fight the same?
I'm saying the endgame grind is literally fighting the same handful of monsters repeatedly
might as well wait for the expansion since they will add a bunch of monsters to LR and HR making the experience more enjoyable, with more targets and more locales
Yeah this might kill it for me. Does PS4 run well?
end-game decoartion farming is based around elder dragons and tier 2 tempered monsters, about 2/3 of the entire roster, tempered elder dragons are the toughest to fight and you'll mainly be hunting them through investigations with RNG health and damage values for variety
however this sounds grindy on paper, but in a hands on perspective youre gonna be enjoying every hunt
pc all the way, has non existent load times, better performance and better looking game and mods if you are into that
PS4 pro can run it well enough.
Load times still suck though.
iceborne is confirmed to come to PC winter 2019. that's literally the end of December, that's nothing and you're not gonna be drip fed the expansion, it's gonna be everything the console got at once
No, not until they release the DLC, even then it's probably not worth it until it's on sale. It's not finished and has no endgame or story, it's jsut an open ended mess of you constantly loading into the same 10-15 missions where all you do is run around for 3 minutes, find a monster, and then button mash it to death. Not only that but there's elements in the game that pretty much play it for you like "invulnerability" for a set amount of time. Allowing you to faceroll for five minutes without any risk. Also the AI is garbage.
It's already behind again. Console just got AT Nergi PC doesn't get it for another month
You should wait until they realease the Ultimate edition in Spring 2020 or it goes on sale.
I bought the game for 17 bucks just last month, second hand because i thought Iceborne would be free and i'm sure not paying 40 bucks for one map and 5 new monsters.
Also, the game is alright but feels too lackluster at times.
No it’s trash. There are like 20 monsters
except that it doesn't unless you consider 40 fps well enough
I double dipped and ps4 pro only gets 40+ fps with the performance mode which looks bad, fps dips below 35 when it gets hectic
Got ya, at least the build up to it has variety right?
>I like grindy games focused only getting better gear etc
you'd fit right in
Not if being forced to play the game twice is what you consider buildup.
>6 months
Iceborne comes out september for consoles and "winter" for PC. That is AT MOST 3 months later.
Do not get GU as your first game. It has a cancerous shit gimmick on gameplay that will forever be exiled within that one game and ruin the rest of the series for you. None of the previous titles have those gimmicks, no title in this next decade will have those gimmicks either. You may think of it as a normal thing and then find it weird how other games don't have it.
There are so many options that you should simply remove MHGU from memory entirely. If you want pre-World games just emulate MHFU, MH3U or MH4U instead. If you want post-World then... well there's the one option for now.
I don't think having 300hours or 800hours worth of content is relevant for a newbie so don't chose the game by that measure, just chose what makes your pickle hard and go with it.
Except the only thing that matters in the game is the base damage of your weapons.
Wait for the dlc
> but I started with MHGU
Yeah your tastes got permanently fucked by that. No one trust this guy.
yeah and that requires setting up the right decos, armour and tools. Which requires lots of grinding if you want to have the best stuff.
MH:W is the biggest chore of a game ever. If you like tedious, soulless gameplay with a very limited cast of monsters that you will have to fight repeatedly even though it’s the exact same fight every time, this game is for you
Well yeah it doesn't run as well as 4U but its still smoother than GU.
PC is obviously the best bet but the content is still lagging behind with that version. Waiting for them to stop adding content and then buying the game on sale would be the wisest thing to do since you wouldn't have to wait for them to add content.
>that requires setting up the right decos, armour and tools
No it doesn't. The difference between a 50 hour build and a 1000 hour build are negligible. Like 5-10 damage negligible
Why do you assume OP is as big of a poorfag as you are and that waiting half a year is worth the $20 difference?
Iceborne will be $40 standalone, the bundle (not that I've chekced but I assume) is $60. I'm pretty sure he can find MHW for $40 or less right now and have way more than 40 hours of gameplay out of it until the Xpac comes out.
Winter doesn't even start until end of December, and goes on until end of March. That's 3 months earliest, 6 months at most
Because he sounds like an indecisive faggot who wasn't going to buy it anyways.
Is it easy to emulate 3U (Wii U) yet?
If it is then play that.
Know what? You have a point.
you've only used the Daul blades haven't you, there's always these special kinda of people that exist only to use one thing never anything else and say the game is busted. user using all the weapons with different fighting methods is literally over half the game.
You should, its pretty good for their first outing on good systems in over a decade. Doesn't as much content as MH4U buy still good.
I played every weapon faggot. There is no difference between a 50 hour build or a 1000 hour build. Go into your house, go into the training area, put on your best build with all the decos and basic attack the dummy. OK? Now take off all your decos and do it again
>recommending 3u over 4u
out you go faggot
That's a big opinion
3U is still king my friend.
is online needed for this game? or can I just pirate this shit and have fun playing offline
Op here, imma buy it on PC tomorrow, can I play exclusively online or is there some cop out like I need to have killed the monster first?
>Iceborne on console first
>playing anything after FU
lol
>is online needed for this game
It's the only thing worth a damn imo
No.
Old MH games separated online and offline quests but MHW unified them for some reason and it's annoying as fuck to play with friends if you're not in the end game.
if you have a switch by all means buy MHGU. you will have grind for months.
There is more players on ps4 but the pc version is the superior version (the dlc are delayed though)
Whats more important for you? Also if you only have a base ps4 go straight for the pc version
