the beginning weapons in rage 1 did, but it's like they dropped that half way through development because the later weapons have little to none

Game should have a lot of vehicle customization, Avalanche made Mad Max and vehicle combat / upgrading your vehicle was the primary money sink and a lot of fun (harpoon gun on a car).

Im cautiously optimistic, it looks like a game I would fucking love but it also looks like it could be easily ruined by being easy as fuck due to the open world nature. I just want good shooting mechanics, but if its just like Far Cry 3-5 then it will be really easy and boring after a few hours.

from the looks of it, the open world is there just for the driving segments. Think of the map of locations that appears at the end of each level in doom, but between each level theres a driving segment to that location

there is some of late game abilities and weapons, but the different zones were not really shown. Supposedly, there would be 4 different zones with different colors/vegetation/enemies but I didn't see that difference on any of the footage

The vehicle gameplay is identical go Mad Max, the world is a lot like Just Cause 4's map, and the shooting is like a poor imitation of DOOM 2016.

the engine is Avalanche's so I guess they are helping them design a good shooter. So, I wouldn't consider it a poor imitation of Doom but only after tuesday we'll know

Doom 2016 was good and this game runs at 60fps on console so I'm probably going to rent it and maybe buy it later.

Gunplay and skills look really dry. Movement doesn't look particularly appealing either. The vehicle portions look like dogshit from what I've seen. Basically all the staple facets of what could make this interesting appear to be shit to me.

the engine is the same from Just Cause, from the videos, it continues the story from the 1st game but only slightly. ie enemies and some supporting characters but the story is 30 years later or something like that
