I just finished Radiant Historia and started DeSu2 should I play SMT4 or Apoc afterwards? I've already played Strange Journey again a month ago

Did you play DeSu1 first?

Attached: 2a38e60024341fa7ff975aafdc81b1001520029400_full.jpg (640x394, 63K)

Atlus are like Square when it comes to announcements for new games. Reveal something that's barely even started development and then show basically nothing for 2 or so years.

yes I've played through it loads of times in the past

Based.
You should play SMT IV first.
Apocalypse is kind of a sequal to the neutral ending of IV.

I tried Nocturne, IV, and Apocalypse, and fiercely hated all three of them. Played Devil Survivor to completion normally and once in NG+, it was pretty alright though not something I'd play again. Strange Journey though was fucking wonderful, best game I played on the DS.

Should I try 1 or 2?

fatlus put all the funding into persona, nu-male's SMT

>tfw played DeSu on DS to completion 3 times
>played Overclocked to completion twice, saved before the split so I can play through all endings again
>played DeSu 2 to completion twice, same with Record Breaker, played both the Sep and Tri arcs twice, going for a third on the Tri
How the fuck did it all go so right with DeSu? Is it acceptable to think they are the best Megami Tensei spinoff?

Attached: 1554497515055.jpg (900x900, 334K)

>tfw we will never get another DeSu

Help me!
Playing record breaker I want to do the dekudeku side quest + get daichi triumph ending. Any tips on who to prioritize or what events to go to?
I wish this and the Persona series didn't punish you for making different dialogue choices in story choices and events.

I think the srpg combat plays really well into the game and its strengths/weaknesses combat system

Atlus does this with their titles all the time though. They stay utterly silent until it's close to a game's release. They did the same thing with Persona 5 not long ago after multiple delays.
>"Coming Winter 2014!"
We all know how that went. Just remain patient and chill.

SMT IV Law or Chaos. You should really do neutral but there's a part in it which is honestly brain aneurysm tier. The best route would be to do that and then as soon as you get tired of the neutral route go to apocalypse. Otherwise complete a law or chaos route and go directly to apocalypse.

There's a shit ton of QoL changes that they made in Apocalypse that makes it the better game. Apocalypse explains quite a bit so you just need to know the basics of what happens in IV before the route switch.

Pick up SMT IV and see if it clicks with you, its a slow burn at the start, but eventually opens up exploration.
Apocalypse is basically SMT IV but with a shitload of QoL adjustments you won't fully appreciate unless you played IV, so if you like SMT IV and want more, get Apocalypse

Attached: 57007226_p0_master1200.jpg (750x600, 543K)

well I have played a little of 4 but I'm emulating shit now because I broke my leg and don't want to stare at a tiny screen

I went back to IV after playing apocalypse. I cannot fucking believe the world map was this fucked before. Doesn't help the enemies are actually fucking cancer in iv on the world map as they'll chase you around

Not when Devil Summoner exists

It's absurd how much the enemies chase you on the over world in the original IV. I don't think Estoma remedies this either. They'll literally hunt you down.

What made you hate the rest, but love SJ?

A-hoy

I was honestly planning on replaying to get the neutral route but I honestly can't. Id rather play apocalypse. I just can't believe how many little fixes I didn't even notice.

>SMT V does well and surpasses a million
>Puts SMT on the map like P5 did for Persona
>Atlus has plenty of assets and demon models to reuse from V to usher a new era of spinoffs
>Devil Summoner, Raidou, or Devil Survivor gets revived
I can only hope.

Apocalypse introduces so much QoL shit that it actually makes going back difficult, having Estoma on the touch menu helped, not to mention those bridges in the overworld making traversing the overworld actually fun.
>new Raidou/DeSu/Devil Summoner
we can only hope, I would even be pretty happy if we got enhanced ports of Nocturne/DDS and the Raidou games

Attached: tumblr_no2bq3JCKc1rxsp6io1_540.png (540x763, 383K)

>P5 did for Persona
P3 put Persona on the map. I can see SMT5 being a big popularity boost for SMT either way though, and I hope some of the other MegaTen games get a chance for a new entry from it. The threads will probably go to complete shit though, rather than being on and off like they are now.

I mean like big time though. Persona 3 was for sure the start of the series for many people, but it didn't explode quite like 5 did in popularity.

People say that, but I don't really feel it's true, it just comes off that way because P5 is still the newest entry. P3 and 4 were still really popular and if you went anywhere online and asked for a JRPG recommendation people would mention those. It still got a popularity boost from P5 of course, but I feel like people understate how popular it was prior to 5's release.

You're a weird motherfucker
Play Soul Hackers

P3 sold less than P1.

I know, I was talking more about its popularity in the West than in Japan though, considering P5 was even more on the map before P5 in Japan than it was in the West.

The 3D dungeon crawling was annoying in all three. Nocturne's story and characters were an active turn-off for me, less so in IV and Apocalypse where I just didn't care for any of it, but their gameplay and dungeons were not good enough to keep me going either.
I like dungeon crawls and the demon recruiting and fusing was a good enough unique spin to set it apart from other titles. But mostly I just really love dungeons. I even loved the shit out of Eridanus, so, you know. It doesn't hurt that with SJ the story actually clicked too, that was unexpected after my experience with the other games.

1 and 2 have that cyberpunk aesthetic like SJ, but the assets for demons and dungeons are very budget even for the times. You might really like them depending on what you're looking for.

>tfw Kaneko will never return

Attached: 1531475336748.jpg (1048x1754, 302K)

Oh true, sorry for the misunderstanding dudes.

Nocturne has better dungeons than SJ though

>SJ
>cyberpunk

Attached: 1504875740740.png (568x318, 322K)

Fucking false.

1, 2 and Soul Hackers are all more like SJ in terms of dungeon-crawling, but if you really enjoyed SJ's dungeon crawling you should consider giving Etrian Odyssey a go, seeing as it's similar to SJ's dungeon crawling but better in many ways. The combat is good too.

>SJ
>Cyberpunk feel
Ehh, I don't really see it. If anything it's more Sci-Fi than anything else.

>mfw Naoya’s route
So fucking based.

Attached: EFFA6578-70CF-4919-9B6A-C42DCDBD8A79.jpg (352x501, 53K)

You're absolutely correct, what I should have said was old Sci-Fi.

Alex was pretty cute.

Attached: ShinMegamiTensei-10.jpg (607x1090, 88K)

I thought she looked kind of weird but I can't place why. Still probably the best character of that kind ATLUS has done though, Dante and Raidou aside of course. I still don't understand why they made her Lucifer's daughter though, seems like a pointless part of the character.

Please don’t remind me.

I was worried her inclusion would ruin SJ but she gave us access to the best Law and Chaos endings in a while so I can't hate her.

How was she in Redux? Enough to feel like a new game? Did she blend in well enough?

The thing is they only became like that in regards to TMS, P5 and SMTV
Other games came out within 2 years of announcement

Cheers, I'll check out Soul Hackers then, and then probably 1/2 regardless of how it goes. Low sprite quality doesn't bother me as much as an off-putting artstyle, and SMT is fine in this regard.

>you should consider giving Etrian Odyssey a go
Yeah, that's something I consider every now and again, but so far the my dislike of its art won out. But I've heard good things about the games, and SJ and Dark Spire were both great DS dungeon crawlers. so I might go for it eventually.

I think she's a fine addition, better than most, if not all, of the new girls ATLUS always adds into the re-release. She doesn't really blend in, but the ways she doesn't blend in feel deliberate. The only particularly negative things I have to say about her is that there's one part of her character that feels like a pointless inclusion and you do have to interact with her whether you like her or not, which I don't like. I wouldn't have minded Marie's inclusion in P4G so much if not for the fact that you have to sit through her shitty poetry, and while Alex is better than Marie you still must deal with her whether you want to or not.

If you do play EO you should start from 3 and go forwards

I'll keep that in mind, thanks.

To create someone that could thrive in all three outcomes so she could give a first-hand account of the future and nudge the player towards endings Lucifer likes more?

Here you go, just because I'm in a good mood today.

I don't feel like people would find it that hard to believe if it was just a human who managed to survive either though, you play as a normal human and you do surpass her in strength after all. Even if you usually play the strongest human, strong humans aren't so unusual in the series that it would be hard to believe if she were just human. I also think Lucifer would prefer the normal Chaos ending to the Deep Chaos end, and maybe the normal Neutral ending as well. The only one of Alex's endings he seems like he'd prefer is the Deep Law end over the normal one.

Devil Survivor has one of the best Chaos routes in the entire franchise, honestly.

Why does Lucifer's daughter have such a fat nice ass?

Attached: SMT_DSJ-2.jpg (809x469, 95K)

>you have to sit through her shitty poetry
not at all, you can skip it completely and miss absolutely nothing because her shitty poems add nothing and are dull as shit to listen to her drone on about them, not to mention they really overplay the stupidjerkihateyou shit
I like how PQ made it canon that her poems are fucking awful

Thank you chaos man

Attached: 1556682937785.gif (216x178, 39K)

>not at all, you can skip it completely
I don't think that's true. I specifically remember trying to skip it on one playthrough and I couldn't. She does stop doing it if you don't do her S. Link though so you only have to sit through it the first few times.

I finally gave in and spent some time grinding in SJR. Ouroboros became a cakewalk and I'm having a lot more fun now. What's the usual level to finish the game at?

Eh, it's kinda random for someone to just be capable of surviving it and coming back in time while being outrageously strong though. The main one that's done it before is a Raidou Kuzunoha, which is notable in itself.

What's with all the DeSu love lately? Is it Yea Forums's contrarianism kicking in, or is it because it's honestly a pretty good entry point for the series?

Attached: ice dance.gif (464x499, 163K)

why are her thighs so anorexic looking

Attached: 1532028002140.png (299x392, 93K)

It's a good game that isn't popular enough to get shitposted

I recall using the fastforward function to bypass it completely, not sure if that is available outside of NG+ now that I think about it
I remember letting it play out, thinking it would be integral to the plot, alas no, but I honestly didn't think she was a terrible character outside of her garbage poems and her dungeon is pretty good.

Attached: 4a9.jpg (640x824, 119K)

I don't know, I don't feel like I would have questioned it too much. Maybe if she could only time travel because of her Demonic heritage or something, but the time travel itself had nothing to do with that, just that she had the strength to survive in a world where she was in danger, and I don't have too hard a time believing a strong human could survive without the help of anything like Lucifer's genes considering it has been done before.

I'd say 75-80 for one of the base game endings and 80-85 for one of the new endings. I was 85 when I played SJR at least and I think I was 70 something when I first beat the base game.

It's just a good game.
DeSu is the most your choices matter game in the franchise.
There are some key events that you are forced to.witness in every playthrough, but you can have multiple fresh playthroughs.
I still need to get Black.frost to join me and join Keisuke in his murder crusade.

I've only played some of IV and really liked it so far.

Gameplay wise it's not the best in my opinion, though some of its issues were resolved with the re-release, the setting, atmosphere and story are very engaging though.

Fuck off, *record scratch*

Go home picard, you're drunk and you dunked your head in cardassian mustard

Playing Nocturne for the first time, what are some Magatamas I should be looking out for. I already know that Wadatsumi is useful for Fog Breath and Kamudo is important since it gives Focus, but IDK what else is good. So far the only Physical attacks I have is Lunge which always misses, and Berserk, which is kinda useful but still feels pretty weak

Attached: Hitoshura_Human.png (450x811, 1.41M)

Cute dog.

Mostly contrarianism, a couple years ago it was widely agreed that desu failed miserably as both a srpg and a smt game

Early game physical skills are pure shit. Just look up a guide on Magatama since the game thought the retarded idea of hiding skills was good and get the skills as you go

Except it's great at both those things.

Yeah, in your head.

It takes a while for WURLD OF STR to pay off, but once you get divine shot you will be shredding through bosses like paper and once you get deadly fury every encounter will become a joke.
Also I cannot stress enough to get an MP battery demon.
Fuse a high MP demon that has makatora and a skill that let's it recover mp like mana gain.
You will not survive nocturne's dungeons without.
You will be dead or half dead before you even get to the boss.

Do you think blasted akira got to see his sister again?

His sister was in the cocoom and the blasted tokyo dlc ends with the cocoons landing.

Yes, in the ancient of days dlc the wombs or whatever lands on Tokyo

I finished the Triangulum route last week and the beach ending made me come to terms with that possibility. It's pretty much the perfect ending and period point for the series. A bit bizarre for a megaten ending though since it's a bit too sweet, sweeter than SMTIVA's bond ending.

Any tips on record breaker to get everyone fate to 4

Why is Pixie/Demifiend fanart so cute?

Pixie understands that sometimes she needs to change in order to help you, as long as she can be herself at the very end.

jonathan is a good boy
Isabeau is a monkey but doesnt go crazy so shes got that going for her
Overall I liked the dynamic between the Samurai squad for a large part of the game
jonathan and Walter seemed understanding of each other and saw some of the flaws in their own alignment but the logic jump they made to get the endings was the worst part of the writing of that game

Really liked them. I think they were fun to hang around with and complimented each other well.
DeSu1's crew didn't grip me as much as it did most people. I actually preferred 2's crew over it, though 1's focus on a lower scale story makes me prefer it overall.
I think Raidou's crew is underrated, I loved Narumi's lazy but succesful attittude, Tae's eager yet clumsy personality, Gouto's helpful advices buried under his snarky remarks and Raidou himself's silent, professional attitute.

In 1 and 2 they gave a completely random result as long as it wasn't a special fusion, and you could keep rerolling for something you want

I would be content with them just functioning the way they do in SMT1 and 2, but if they wanted to go farther with them that would be fine too.

>DeSu1's crew didn't grip me as much as it did most people
Most of them range from annoying to forgettable, but Naoya and Atsuro are absolutely bro tier.

If Japan gets so fucked up every time demons happen, imagine how absolutely tits up Europe must get.

Makes me wonder what a world-spanning SMT setting would look like. Imagine the shit ton of religious organizations losing their goddamn minds over the various pantheons and what not.

It wouldn't happen in the mainline because the Expanse (Demon Realm) is directly tied to Tokyo, Japan. They'd have to make it a spinoff title, but it would be interesting.

Why the fuck does the Soul Hackers intro make me feel so miserable

It would be cool if there was an SMT game where local gods revealed themselves and created their own human factions all over the world after the typical SMT nuclear apocalypse.
You could travel to different parts of the world through terminals.

Asahi is probably my most favourite SMT character. She's definitely the only one I'd actually give my life for if I was Nanashi

Those are mainline too

Y*suda is a hack who can only draw like three body types. Anorexic male protagonist, anorexic female with huge tits at the center of her chest, and slight less anorexic male to use for villains.

Indeed.

I don’t think I have. Is it good?

I am wondering that myself.
That is why I am asking.

Think you got the wrong thread but while you're here, do Dragon Force and DF2 run well on emulators? Which one works best? Apparently the second game got translated.

Attached: the hardest metal.jpg (800x846, 147K)

They work the same and both work fine. The thing about Saturn emulation is that the console itself is fucking weird as hell, so you needed powerful rigs to emulate anything on it worth a damn until recently. Saturn emulation is just fine these days, you aren't really gonna notice many problems with it if you have an ivy-bridge i7 or better. The people still bitching about poor Saturn emulation are people with potatoes or the /vr/ buyfag crowd who think NES emulation isn't at an acceptable level either.

Attached: thehardestmetalknowntoman.png (684x218, 5K)

Sorry, I meant which saturn emulator works best. Last time I emulated saturn games was 10 years ago with SSF, I got through panzer dragoon saga on a mediocre laptop without issues, but I recall hearing it's very variable for each game.

Oh, yeah. SSF is still "the best" for shitty PCs but it's a fucking pain in the goddamn ass mounting images.
emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Sega_Saturn_emulators
I use mednafen, but these are the stats on my primary non-emulation rig. It works fine on my backup rig, which has an ivy-bridge i7 and a 670.

Isnt that the point retard?

>up there with p3fes for me
That's a good way to put it, it's almost as bad as persona 3

Not him but that’s some pretty shit taste there, bud. There’s almost no Megaten game that is truly bad.

Well I'm a bit of a pickle.
To be honest I wanted something character focused like Apocalypse. I'd replay it but honestly it's a bit disappointing that you don't really spend too much time with the cast.

I was thinking Record Breaker because I played the original DS2. However I honestly hate how the fate system gates you from the best ending. I also think the battles are so fucking slow and I really hate having to read a guide to figure out what events I need to get for daichi true ending.
For Redux, I played strange Journey original until Carina before one of my friends deleted my saves. I liked it but I'm not a big fan of no dub and YHVH dungeon in apocalypse burned me out of dungeon crawling. Alex also seems a bit forced in to me and I really fucking hate Marie I want to throw her in the biggest widest trash bin I can find.

Opposite taste or bait?

Attached: E7708B22-EA9C-4256-A1F4-98DA981BD214.gif (500x277, 505K)

Only certain spin offs can be considered bad(p4arena is a good example but it’s a great fighting game but the story is a dumpster fire) maybe some of the older titles can be bad but are prolly just outdated

Persona 3 is the only new generation Persona title to proper manage the character development of it's cast. You actually see their growth over periods of time in the game, and they awaken their Ultimate Persona during the main story. Unlike, you know, P4 or P5 where everything takes place in their SL's after the respective story arc where they happen to show up in.

Attached: 1557621890955.jpg (614x1301, 75K)

You let that friend live I remember accidentally deleting my brothers save and buying him lunch or something to make up for it

>P4A story was bad
????
It had the best story of all the spin offs and actually felt like a sequel to the original Persona 4. The plot was definitely on the same quality as P3 and P4 as well. What are you smoking?

SJ sci-fi in the sense that you're a group of people travelling into an unknown dimension while being kitted out in advanced gear
SMT2's set in the far future, so it's sorta cyberpunkish(forgive me if I used the wrong term)
Other than that, SH's really unique despite the series having a technological basis

>boring, simplified battle system
>ai controlled party members
>the worst dungeon ever made
>terrible pacing
Just play a proper dating sim or a proper smt game, P3 is just trash.

>Alex also seems a bit forced in to me
She's not that forced, much better than Marie at least.

I disagree, only Junpei had interesting character development. P4 and 5's characters had more significant character development, it was just condensed and formulaic because it was around their dungeon. P3 spaces its character development out better, and again, Junpei is handled well, but I wasn't impressed with it otherwise.

Well he was a nigger and I wanted to show him the game since he's a fellow weeb. Dude saved over my save in a new game with 729#8+4$ as Doomguy.
I actually fought with him physically after he went inside my bag during a school camp trip and played with my PSP and proceeded to drop it from the top bunk.
Don't know what happened to him but I heard he got arrested for stealing.

NDD designs were underrated

>akihiko becomes goku
>mitsuru’s dressing like that
>yukari becoming a actress?
Only 2 that make sense are junpei and Aigis and lets not mention the alternative story modes
>my persona is gone
>oh no my shadow
>I face myself
>haha you foolish cretin it is I labrys
>to be continued
Repeat that for 3 times so you can get the actual ending

Lmao funny shit user sounds like a douche

Shit taste. The battle system isn't simplified at all and AI party members are great and add immersive. The pacing is better than 4 and 5 combined since it doesn't take 10 hours to start the game. The only thing you are right about is the bad dungeon, but even that is better than any piece of garbage from 4 and 5.

No... Honestly he was just "special". He's a nice kid and all but dude didn't know anything of personal belongings or common sense.
Well I'll see you when I see you Ushena.

Nah, they were pretty bad. They were by gueat artists and clashed with the aesthetic of the rest of the demons way too much.

I remember there was actually a interview with one of the guest artists and he said he found his son would doodle demons from the game in a notebook. When he looked in it he didn't find a single one of the demons he designed. When he asked his son why he didn't draw his demons his son just straight up told him they looked worse then the others.

Never had problems with the AI or pacing and if that much of a problem there’s woah the psp version

God, I can’t wait to hear more of his tunes. Post your favorite Kozuka tracks.

Junpei and Yukari's weren't even in Arena
>My persona is gone
>Oh no my shadow
That didn't happen in Arena....are you daft you fucking cunt?

There is no character development in 4 and 4. 5 isn't even about the characters anymore and a not a single one is well written.

>There’s almost no Megaten game that is truly bad.
Persona 5

>didn’t happen in arena
Nigga what guess it was a yosuke only thing but still I can’t remember shit but yukari and junpei were in ultimax

The first Devil Summoner has identical sci-fi trappings, but it's not translated. Why Atlus, why?

The battle system is quite basic and there is very limited tactical decision making involved in a playthrough of P3. This is typical a major draw to megaten games but not present in P3. Given that both the gameplay and the writing are unenjoyable, there is no value in playing the game.
Why in yhwh's name are you comparing it to 4 and 5? That just makes it sound even worse.

I said truly bad, user. Persona 5 ain’t even my favorite in Megaten but it’s not a bad game.

It doesn't though

But the gameplay's actually good.
Innocent Sin, however, is hot garbage no matter how good the characters and setting are.

Is TMS megaten?

Makoto is objectively different from when you first speak to her around the school to after her dungeon, the same goes for every other character in some capacity, in both 4 and 5, even if not all of them have the most significant development they all undergo some kind of change. You're free to dislike the games, but it's just an outright lie to say they don't have character development.

>They were by gueat artists and clashed with the aesthetic of the rest of the demons way too much.
i understand and agree with that, but i have a soft spot for half of them.
>When he asked his son why he didn't draw his demons his son just straight up told him they looked worse then the others.
Give sauce, that's great

Oh for fuck sakes. If you're gonna talk about Ultimax say ULTIMAX you dumb nigger.
Arena had a great story.

Didn’t that one actually have good gameplay, though?

This song makes me think of Uptown Girl.

Imagine working for hours and you kid says “it’s shit”

>Boring simplified battle system
>As opposed to the usual turn based system
The only difference is that you use Tactics to control your party instead of selecting actions for them. I don't know why people harp so heavily about this in regards to P3 when the game isn't even remotely difficult.
>Worst dungeon ever made
Tartarus is pretty shit. If the game ever ends up getting remade, I'm hoping that each of the Arcana Shadows receives their own mini dungeon of sorts. Priestess had the Subway Tram section, and Lovers had the Apartment Building or whatever it was.

The battle system isn't more simple or in-depth than other games so no. It also have vastly superior difficulty in both daily life and battles. So no don't just make shit up. The writing is better than most.

Yes it is

>p5
>good gameplay
Maybe if you nevr played a turn based game in your life

How is it a bad game, user?

Attached: 1479329229875.png (485x479, 72K)

Her dungeon is where her character begins and stops. It's actually a lie to say that they are developed, since SL's aren't even about the characters anymore but some shitty side ones

Honestly out of all the SMT games I've played. PQ is probably the worst one for me. I've even enjoyed the dancing games more.

Most of the artists were veterans of the toku genre, known for its silly monsters, and I think it was just a bad move on Atlus' part.

As Yamai said here they just hired the artists and gave them free reign. I don't blame the artists, but it doesn't make their designs good.
>Yamai: Yes, exactly. Moreover, the new demons were an important part of the scenario, so we also had to be careful at every detail of the setting. We didn’t give any instructions on the demon designs themselves though, so we left the artists make their own decisions.
dijeh.tumblr.com/post/121046500453/in-july-2013-famitsu-had-an-interview-with-several

This interview also has the section I mentioned.
>Yamai: Speaking of which, Shinohara’s child has played this game, hasn’t he?
>Shinohara: That’s right. He’s still only in elementary school, but got completely hooked as soon as I let him try the game. He lost to Minotaurus many times and then came crying to me once he ran out of revival coins.
>Doi: The demon designed by his father became his first real challenge. (laughs)
>Shinohara: What surprised me after that was while playing, he was drawing his own Demon Dictionary in his notebook. I went to take a look and there were only Kaneko demons, so I asked him ‘Aren’t you going to draw some of dad’s demons too?’ and he replied they were all too jumbled…I felt like the essence of my designs had been picked at. (laughs)

Why Yamai hired random guest artists when Doi was present is beyond me, but I hope that isn't the case with SMTV.

Boo!

I played through all stories and great is far too strong a word to describe the story, it was incredibly tedious, the only parts I enjoyed were the opening and ending of each story, everything in between was the exact same shit every time
the actual game is fun and Mitsuru is fucking based

Attached: mitsuru-hair.gif (400x415, 129K)

>Her dungeon is where her character begins and stops
And? She still develops and her Confidant just reflects on that development and tells you more about the character. I've already said it's condensed but that doesn't mean it isn't there. Mitsuru's character arc in 3 begins when her father dies and ends when she gets her ultimate Persona, just because that's a small timeframe doesn't mean her development is non-existent. Saying they aren't developed because of the space of time dedicated to their development doesn't fit some arbitrary standard of how much time must pass for a character to develop is retarded. She starts the game one way, has experiences that make her change her outlook and attitude and ends up a changed person because of it. That's character development, dislike it your heart's content, it's still character development.

Form of marketing. A lot of these artists were known within the toku genre, a genre whose fans are mostly boys in the 12-20 range, and that same age range is who Atlus wanted to market to. I imagine had Doi been asked it probably have taken awhile since he had to do all the human designs as well then.

They should have commited to EO combat style and made each character a unique class based around their main Persona only. Sub-Personas ruined the game. I get that the main appeal of SMT is demon collecting but it already holds less importance in Persona than mainline and this is a spinoff anyway.

You pretty much said the story was bad because you repeated the same story multiple times.

That's not really how you critique a fighting game story but I digress you do you.

>"you can collect all your favorite personas from the critically acclaimed persona series to help in battle."

I don't wanna know

>persona balance is completely fucked up with multiple, easily obtainable Personae that either have extremely overpowered resistances, no weaknesses, or both (IE: Isis being outright immune to Anubis's bullshit in the pyramid, Shiki Ouji pulling his weight all the way up to the casino). Swift strike has to be the one of the most broken skill in jrpg history
>lockdown is ridiculous, allowing Personas to completely negate weakness dodge, void, etc FOR FREE at higher ranks
>maxing all social links is far too easy, you can do so with weeks to spare do to fortune and overall casualized time management
>demon negotiation is simply a dumb down version of P2 and they had the brilliant fucking idea of adding in the different conversion system from IV which is ridiculous when daze/stun gives you a ludicrous amounts of money, especially with mementos bosses
>confidants abilities are stupid powerful. Death 5, Fortune 7, and Sun 2 break the game directly in half. 1/3 of them give SP items which is worse
>after Kamoshida you can do all the dungeons in a single run unless there's a break due to SP Adhesive
>braindead stealth system, literally invisible to enemies who can walk through you and not notice you as long as you hold down the stealth button, in fact you can literally ignore stealth anyway, walk straight up to an enemy's face and still be able to ambush them due to the enemy garbage line of sight they are given
>with universal elemental coverage very early and easy ambushes this gives ample, nigh-unmissable opportunity to spam weaknesses for a first-turn AoA which will wipe the enemy party 90% of the time (especially on Merciless). There is no imaginable situation where it's actually easy or likely for the player to be ambushed. Even worse is the addition of Baton pass which is a reward when you already get a fucking reward for attacking weakness and let's you spam physical AOE even harder
>none of the bosses require thought or setup

And it's shit. It's the most basic garbage anime trope filled shit you can imagine. Like all the characters in 5 they are as flat as a deflated tire.

Again, you're free to feel that way if that's how you feel, I was just telling you you were wrong in saying there is no character development in 4 and 5 when there is.

It's a fun fan-service. If it wasn't so braindead broken, that even a dying toddler could break it in half it would be more enjoyable.

even then the basic premise isn't that interesting, it was alright and like I said, I liked the scenes at the start and end, but overall the story is Labrys getting a Persona and then setting up the story for Ultimax, which was just a scrambled mess with a pitiful climax, at least the epilogue is nice.
Also I see everyone drool over episode Labrys, it was alright, I could tell exactly where it was going at every point.
once again, great is a strong word, the premise is good but I remember very little about it outside of that

Tornado is great since its a heavy damage, random target, wind spell fairly early on. Mana Drain is nice to keep your MP skills going in the early-mid game. Buffs are pretty good, but its best to spread them out among yourself and your party so you lay down multiple in one round of turns. Divine Shot is when the world of strength starts to rule. I think it's on an Expel based magatama in the second row of magatamas. By the end, Deadly Fury with its high crit chance will slaughter enemies and keep your turns going longer. Freikugel is your end game "Almighty that scales with STR" skill from the Almighty magatama in the last story dungeon. Bolt storm can be nice for coverage at the end since several late game demons are weak to electric.

Really?

Soul Hackers is great. Only problem is being too easy. Otherwise okay list.

They're not bad, they just don't fit megaten.

If you feel that way that's fine, but what started the conversation was you saying "There is no character development in 4 and 4" and that's all I was arguing. I said at the start you're free to dislike it, I don't care what your opinion of the games are, I was just telling you you were wrong to say they have no character development.

Beelzebub at +3/-3 and below almost never uses Dekunda/Dekaja or even focus. The AI in Nocturne can be really fucking dumb

Attached: KazumaKaneko-Beelzebub.jpg (1920x1968, 740K)

No, "more significant character development" which is a objective lie. There is no well written characters and their development is non-existent. They are all garbage characters. Makes perfect sense, it's one of the worst written games to ever come out.

You can easily exploit the AI of demons in this series. If you stay at a stable 2 or 3 levels of buff, they won't use Dekunda/Dekaja.

>start filling
>realise how few of the games I've actually finished
I should get back to P2

There are some who still do, like Metatron and Lucifer. The fuckers.

Lucifer is the super boss, you know? Metatron is cheap for the sole reason that his Agility is high as hell. I lost because I kept missing, even with proper Sukukaja and Debilitate usage.

Them not using Dekaja/Dekunda at those levels is meant as a soft limiter to reduce the increase in power you can get from buffs

Yeah but I don’t consider that garbage fire anything more than a garbage fire

>Only man who can dress like a Nazi yet be completely likable

>Pretty please Die for me

It does have more significant character development, but again, that has nothing to with the quality of it and you yourself already admitted that is there, so I don't know why you're going back to calling it non-existent again. Mitsuru in P3's arc just has her regress after the loss of her father and then her arc ends when she picks herself up again, she's more resolved and has a better relationship with Yukari, but she doesn't behave in a drastically different fashion as she was already resolved to begin with before she got down in the dumps, so it's a more subtle change in character by the end of her arc. Opposed to that you can look at something like Makoto where they go out of their way to show that she's changed at the end of her arc by having her turn down the principal even at the threat of not being able to go to a good university, which she would have acquiesced to previously but because she developed she won't obey him anymore, or for something even more explicit you could look at Rise when you first meet her in 4 and contrast it against her much more upbeat personality after you save her. Whether any of this is good or bad writing is beside the point, the point is that the latter two characters undergo a change and it's a more explicit and significant change on top of it when compared to the more subtle change in P3. The point is that that development exists, whether you like it or not is irrelevant.

Why is Yuzu such a cutie?

i liked the archangels, don't know who designed them though

I think that was Keita Amemiya, the creator of GARO, he has a distinctive style

>Fusion Accident only demons
name a worse thing

Basic bitch development for poorly written anime trope like Makoto. Yeah it's literally non-existent. Just like the garbage game should be.

I like the sub app in SJ that guarantees an accident. As long as you have something like that in the game, I think fusion accident only Demons are fine.

Attached: bananacakes.png (512x512, 297K)

It's not existent. You want actual significant character development play anything else

WHY IS THERE NO NOZOMI OR ASAHI PORN. DRAWFAGS WTF?????

It is existent. Character's start one way and end up another way, if you don't think that's character development then you don't know what character development is.

Mother Harlot isn't even hard

One has great gameplay. One is putrid dogshit wrapped in vomit where every second you want to kill yourself playing it with a awful fanbase full of ironic weebs. Plus TMS doesn't have bad music.

i know there are people who could pull off gale's hat, even if im not one of them

Uhh...okay you do you mate. Can't say I agree but it's like your opinion bro.

It's not. Your statement is character development, but not significant nor is it good.

It's not opinion, it's a fact. Sorry you like bad games

I'm sick of all the Persona 5 haters, fuck off. The combat and dungeon design is no different than any 3D SMT title. This is the issue with this fandom, I swear. We never raise each other up. We just gatekeep and act superior all the time. YOU NEED TO FUCKING COPE HARDER

I said it's more significant than P3's, which it is as P3's character development is generally more subtle. I never said that it's good or bad, not that it's relevant because whether it's good or bad was never part of the discussion, you just kept trying to force it to be.

Is this bait?
This is bait.

I think Nozomi was justified in telling the hunter association.

There is literally nothing wrong with Nozomi in IV

If it was bait p5 would be praised

Just started playing through devil survivor for the first time. Wendigo is a pain, but I've enjoyed it so far.

If you spend the first party turn buffing and debuffing it's not so bad

I'm just shitposting to derail the thread honestly, and it worked. I'm tired of all the Persona hate. Something needs to change.

Just remember to invest in Magic and dance, user.

Wendigo is the tutorial boss, have fun with the rest of the game.

user...what?
Are you okay?

Wendigo is the casual fliter of the game. Also don't grind. Makes the game boring.

How so, keeping in mind that whether character development is good or bad has no bearing on whether or not it's present to begin with?

I thought Beldr was the casual filter.

stop ruining my thread please

How so what? It's not significant for basic bitch anime characters.

Are there any hard mode mods or similar for the devil survivor games? I did a quick search and didn't find anything which seems odd, even fire emblem fans have all sorts of challenge runs.

No, he's the first actually difficult fight.

How is it non-existent or less significant than P3's, also keeping in mind that whether character development is significant or not is a separate matter from whether it's good or bad?

If you're talking about ingame, then no. If you're talking about fan mods, then (lol no, only FE gets attention in this day and age, even though DeSu would love something like that.

Don't think so, I've seen some people complain about it.

I'll admit it. I come into SMT threads from time to time (more so recently) to false flag or derail them out of distaste. The current thread with Morgana and Aigis as the OP image is also some of my work. There's a couple people on discord who I have help me false flag as well and it tends to work. I get even for how spiteful the community is against Persona, even though it's also part of the Megami Tensei series. It's just plain retarded. Can you imagine disliking a series because of its popularity? Wouldn't you want the series to succeed to bring in more money? It's pathetic and I'm tired of it.

FE are the only trpgs to get hacks and roms. Even FFT barely gets anything but one or two rebalance mods

It's a fucking crime.
Don't ask for source, I don't have it.

Can warfags fucking fuck off

Are you dumb? One has arcs lasting loads of time with extras in side content and one has literally nothing but basic bitch shit and even worse the extra isn't even about the character anymore.

Okay? Seems a bit weird and dumb but you do you pal.

>same name as me
>shitposting beyond all reason
Stop.

well I just want a nice smt thread, so I will kindly ask you to knock it off please

>can you imagine hating something that brings in the worst group of people
Hmmmmm

This post seems like a false flag itself.
Can't wait to see screenshots of this

And what part of that makes the character development non-existent? Not to mention most P3 characters don't have long lasting arcs, Mitsuru's starts with her father's death for example and ends shortly afterwards. The space of time over which an arc is covered isn't an indicator of quality though, and it's definitely not an indicator of the arcs existence to begin with or how significantly the character changes from it. A character's arc could begin and end in one scene and they could do a complete 180 in character, for example. It probably wouldn't be good character development, but again, whether the development is good has no bearing on whether it exists or if it is significant.

Man I wonder if it's a full nude edit or just that placed on it I saw a Nozomi edit with the same status losarm

Kyle's a very shitposty name. It's also a very Lawfag name, ironically.

Since it's clear that we have a shitposter in here, let's invoke some discussion.

If you do please post it in smtg

>How were you introduced to the Megaten franchise?
I heard SMT has lots of mythological figures, so I bought SMT4
>Were you fond of JRPG's beforehand?
Yesh
>What kept you intrigued about the series to continue playing the games?
Mythological figures, and a good turn based battle system
>Have the games taught you anything or changed your life?
Fucking kek

Except that's wrong P5babby. Mitsuru's arc starts before, with her guilt over her family's involvement with creating them. Her grandfather's goal of triggering the Fall caused a majority of the problems that SEES must overcome, and Mitsuru feels she alone bears the burden of restoring her family's honor. It's non-existent since it's basic bitch anime tropes like all the characters due to none of them being well written.

>It's also a very Lawfag name, ironically.
Well I guess it's a good thing that I'm a neutralfag then.

There is Nozomi porn out there.

>How were you introduced to the Megaten franchise?
I was introduced to it through little snippets of Persona but I didn’t truly get hooked into the series until I played Devil Survivor. After that, the rest was history.
>Were you fond of JRPG's beforehand?
I dabbled into them from time to time thanks to Pokemon, with TWEWY being one of my absolute favorites of all times, but SMT showed me just how fun turn-based can be.
>What kept you intrigued about the series to continue playing the games?
The various mythologies and pantheons, Kaneko’s artwork, the unique aesthetic, etc. I couldn’t find anything else like it so I was eager to learn more about it.
>Have the games taught you anything or changed your life?
That extremes will always exist, for better and for worse, and that’s not inherently a bad thing. That said, it’s always wise to try and keep a grip of what you truly believe in and to not let yourself be easily swayed.

So I just want to understand the mindset of the developers of TMS. Sure it's a great game I guess but honestly who in the concept team thought this was a great idea?

Two game series with really dark settings and depressing atmospheres and themes. Apparently that makes sense to make an idol game. What the fuck where they thinking?

>How were you introduced to the Megaten franchise?
Yea Forums
>Were you fond of JRPG's beforehand?
yes
>What kept you intrigued about the series to continue playing the games?

Just barely, and mostly bad.

The part of her arc where her character develops starts when her father dies, things like her guilt aren't part of her character development, they're parts of her character. If that's it spanning across the game then so is Makoto being abrasive to you at the start of P5, which it isn't really. You still haven't given a reason for why the development in P5 isn't development, you just said it's bad again.

How long have you guys been arguing about P3 & P5

As a big fan of SMT and FE, it seems like the end product was exactly what I wanted. Except it apparently has really bad writing and battle animations that take forever. I'll still give it a try once I get a better computer that can emulate it.

cute armpits

Attached: 1500001435328.jpg (183x307, 47K)

Not good Nozomi porn. There's also Asahi porn and one doujin but it's not that great. It's only western artists and you know how they can't get into Japanese art style.

DeSu2 sold like shit

Except that's wrong. It's fits into her whole character. Makoto doesn't have a character unless you mean being mary sue is a character. Working out their appearance, history, mannerisms, and so on. It's not significant, it's basic shit garbage for toddlers.

Seriously? You cross over those two series and you actually wanted idol stuff? Again, I guess it's good but holy shit was that a slap in the face for expectation.

Being abrasive when you first meet her is part of Makoto's character and fits into her whole character too. As with all of this, you don't have to like that character, but this isn't about the quality of the writing.

The worst thing about life is that's the only pic of hers.

Attached: 881da86a096e329f08f1322c32fbdbae.jpg (564x800, 533K)

>As a big fan of SMT and FE, it seems like the end product was exactly what I wanted.
As a big fan of SMT and FE, the end product was exactly what I didn't want. Seriously, what the fuck Atlus?

And it's not significant. Not like that can get through the thick skull of delusional P5babby

Big number but nothing to back it down

It is significant, in that it's a significant change in character, whether it's a well handled change in character or not is irrelevant.

What's the original source on this pic?

In TMS defense, I mean I guess I liked the trailer song. Didn't buy it so idk if there's any other good songs in it.

Fuck I remember though when people were theorizing that Tokyo was gonna get nuked halfway through and we would get our real edgy shit later lmao.

Uhh too lazy to link you but search up SMT IV danbooru on Google lmao

I actually did just that and was about to post nvm found it
but still fuck you

Daisoujou was so fucking busted in Nocturne who thought letting a demon with good healing have access to a good mp recovery skill was a good idea

There's nothing wrong with liking both endings, even the original SJ Neutral ending always left the implication that if humanity didn't get it's shit together then everything would end up fucked again anyway. I'd like to imagine eventually they can in SJR's Neutral ending.

The writing isn't bad. Not like there are major plot holes or anything. It's just a standard everyday Japanese literature for the most part. It's a lot better than most 4/5 give and take. Session animations only take a while at the lategame when all party members can join but it doesnt kill the game. It's mainly great since it offers a surprisingly level of difficultly on hard and especially lunatic

already found it but thanks

what was his problem?

Well I was expecting something like devil survivor or like langrisser with demon troops. But while I've never found idolshit to be good, I like it in theory and cute anime girls are always a plus. So a game combining what I like about smt + fe + idolshit would be perfect.

It's not significant, so no

already found it

>How were you introduced to the Megaten franchise?
a friend of mine lend me his persona 3 copy back in 2007, saying it was better than FF
>Were you fond of JRPG's beforehand?
just with FF
>What kept you intrigued about the series to continue playing the games?
themes, atmosphere, ost and demon fusion, among other things
>Have the games taught you anything or changed your life?
that theres no good and evil, just extremes and self righteousness

>So a game combining what I like about smt + fe + idolshit would be perfect.
How about we just keep the idolshit out of it and keep the cute anime girls in, alright?

Fuck me? I helped you. Fuck you!

It is, at least relative to Mitsuru's change in character, which is where this whole significance conversation began.

It's better than a lot of SMT fans would have you believe, It's SMT but with the tone of a saturday morning cartoon, It's honestly pretty comfy.

It's not, and Mitsuru is a better character so no.

I like it when the seiyuus sing, assuming they're good at it.

How so? And who's the better character is irrelevant.

The only few good porn of SMT IVA and it's of a demon... I mean at least it's mermaid.

How so what? It's basic anime tropes for a garbage character, a literal mary sue. P5babbies are so fucking obsessed. This is why P5 is discredited as Megaten

Oh
I read it as you saying that I was too lazy to search up danbooru for some reason, not you
my bad

How is Makoto's development less significant than Mitsuru's? You haven't given any reasons for it.

You guys used Estoma?
I literally never needed to use it, I'm confused why people keep mentioning it. Was it like a specific area or something?

P3 shitposts I decided were numerous enough to make my own opinion, started with p1psp
Yeah
The setting, and maybe a bit of fusion autism.
The White were right.

Betatron exists to get his lunch money stolen from him.

Attached: 1556602348517.jpg (1008x600, 100K)

It's not significant, it's a garbage arc that barely exists

alright, everyone has a favorite alignment, but what do you think of the other two?

>How were you introduced to the Megaten franchise?
Thought the Strange Journey protag looked cool. After getting into EO I wanted more dungeon crawling.
>Were you fond of JRPG's beforehand?
Most of my favorite games are JRPG's TTYD is still my personal favorite.
>What kept you intrigued about the series to continue playing the games?
Alignment mostly, still want to see more good Law endings most of them are pretty shit.
>Have the games taught you anything or changed your life?
Strange Journey's neutral ending really spoke to me and got me into trying new shit to change myself, I wouldn't have joined tennis club in highschool and lost weight if it weren't for that game.

lol no
The demons are cool and all but what each spinoff does is also pretty good on its own which means mainline is the weakest part of the games

-I had been familiar with the series since around the time of when the DS was popular, but didn't know at the time there were DS games I could play. I didn't have an internet connection at the time. I finally got a 3DS and my family decided to invest in internet again after like a decade, saw SMT4 on the eshop and just decided to buy it
-Vaguely. The only JRPG I had much experience with at the time was Tales of Vesperia.
-I still haven't even played most of the game desu. Only 4, 4A, and SJR. That said, I dunno what it is about this series, but it's definitely something unique, and I really enjoy it.
-Yes, SMT4 taught me that it has one of the best soundtracks of all time.

>Those who have power at the top should be worthy for it.
Then get knock off your throne three months later by someone far succeeding you.

I'd say it exists plenty considering in encompasses almost the entire lead up to a dungeon and then continues on at the end of that dungeon and after the dungeon is finished, which is a lot of time devoted to it from any angle, but is made to be even more with how many cutscenes that game has. There's also a clear difference between her character at the start of that arc and at the end of it. You also didn't say how it compares to Mitsuru's, which was the point.

Attached: sample-25ce09455d04cb2701ce9afda82a9c3b.jpg (707x1000, 121K)

That's fair. Only the strongest should be sitting on top of the throne after all. It's better to be working the hardest of your life than become complacent and lazy. A fire that burns the strongest dies the fastest but at least that light will be magnificent.

Lawfags, Neutralfags and Chaosfags deserve nothing more or less than obliteration, for their own good.

Attached: The White were right.png (1248x727, 209K)

Jesus christ, Yamato looks like THAT?

The space of time over which an arc is covered isn't an indicator of it being significant. It's barely existent and she acts like the one note bad anime trope she is

I'm not an elitist or shitposter or anything, but I'm genuinely lost on why people like P3. It's the only Persona game I've tried so far and it bored me to tears, can't control your party, Tartarus was boring and the only real dungeon from what I could tell, the social link stuff just seemed like pointless busy work since the characters didn't seem that interesting. What am I missing? I only got as far as the first full moon event thing on the train, did I just give up too quickly?

Attached: moms spaghetti.png (507x432, 62K)

pls respond

I wasn't talking about the space of time it covered, I was saying all the cutscenes over a long space of time were dedicated to it, which makes up a lot of cutscenes considering how many are in that game. If her arc started at one point and then nothing related to it was brought up until later in the game where it ended what you say would be fair, but as it is you have missed the point, and still haven't compared it to Mitsuru's.

>How were you introduced to the Megaten franchise?
Snippets of Persona, but it was SMT Dx2 that got me into the series, sorta. Was on a trip to Detroit to catch a soccer game and decided to download it from the app store. Was pretty fun.
First "proper" game was IMAGINE, since I played the fan-hosted ReIMAGINE server for a bit. stopped since half of the menu's weren't translated and none of my friends wanted to try it.
Bought IV 2 months ago.
>Were you fond of JRPG's beforehand?
Yea, favorite on being Lost Odyssey and a few other turn based games in my childhood.
>What kept you intrigued about the series to continue playing the games?
The environments. I'm fucking huge into exploring urban stuff like offices and the insides of buildings and IV just made me so happy with it's environment. It felt so wonderful and awe-inspiring to just explore it and imagine it if it was real.
>Have the games taught you anything or changed your life?
It made me believe that the the only wrong choice for anything, in the end, is not making a choice at all.

Also these threads have restored my faith in Yea Forums and made it so I didn't fuck off completely to stay at /m/

Attached: 1556585262073.jpg (285x384, 43K)

Yes you are. The start of her "arc" to the end is filled with nothing. It's not significant

I've beaten P3 and P4 and I don't know what people see in the games. Granted I also think old SMT is archaic and unfun, so it could just be my shit taste.
> I only got as far as the first full moon event thing on the train, did I just give up too quickly?
Pacing in the game is shit and generally locked to the monthly events like that. If you're looking for more character interactions they'll be farther in, Social Links are largely padding in the meantime.

I'm not too fond of it myself, but I would say you gave up pretty early on. The endgame is pretty interesting and the game has a lot of novelties where the developer's tried to do something unique to convey a point about the characters or something like that which I respect even if I think very few of those ideas actually worked out. The endgame is pretty engaging, but otherwise I don't think it's anything special, so I wouldn't force myself through it if I were you, but it wouldn't be the worst idea to give it another go either, if you still have any interest.

i knew but i was so underleveled it wasn't even funny
had to grind xp for like an hour just to fuse uzume

>"Unique" battle system
>decent gameplay balance, offers a challenge from beginning to end
>fun yet mature anime story with solid use of its themes
>nice worldbuilding
>god tier music
>characters are interesting with long lasting character development
>doesn't take 10 years to start up like most games
>10/10 atmosphere and immersive
What's not to love

The dungeons are probably the worst part of the games if you figure that at least the galge-lite aspects actually have a target audience. On the other hand, these shitty dungeons don't appeal to anyone.

>Yes you are.
No, I'm not. There are many lengthy cutscenes establishing her character, her doubts about how she lives her life, her change in her outlook and then wrapping it up with showing how she has changed in practice, which is bound to happen when you dedicate all the cutscenes over a span of time to a single character in a game with so many cutscenes. You may think this is bad character development or not, but that's besides the point, the point is that a lot of time is dedicated to showing a marked change in the character, which is significant to that character's development. You still haven't compared it to Mitsuru, also.

Yes you are. Doesn't matter how much time it takes if nothing is filled in

Yes

But a lot is filled in, as I mentioned with those cutscenes, unless you mean to suggest you consider that amount of cutscenes "nothing."

did anyone else get freaked out by judge zelenin's death sprite? just a bit startled, it reminds me of creepypastas where a tame game suddenly has a character crying blood or something.

I don't know how you can get bored of 3 and not 4. TV world dungeons have always been the worst the series has to offer imo, the corridors are so much worse than Tartarus ever was.
The only time I ever got frustrated with 3 was during fusion since inherited skills are random and getting a healer charmed during the final boss and having them full heal it

No there isnt. Basic bitch anime tropes isn't "a lot". Nothing significant happens. If it did she wouldnt be one note.

>Basic bitch anime tropes isn't "a lot"
It is. Whether it's a lot of bad or a lot of good is beside the point, as again, quality has nothing to do with any of this.

P5 "dungeons" are the worst. At least 4 is over and done with in mins.

TV World is more thematically varied which attracts more people I'd say. Tartarus gets pretty grating with how little it changes, TV World at least puts on a very different coat of paint for its different corridors.

It's not. The space of time over which an arc is covered isn't an indicator of it being significant.

>and not 4
shut the fuck up retard, he just said 3 is the only persona game he tried

Nigga what

We're not talking about the space of time, we're talking about the various cutscenes that fill in that space of time that lend the development significance.

It's shitty linear hallways but worse

That space of time contains nothing significant

It contains the numerous aforementioned cutscenes which lay out the different beats of her character development and have her undergo a significant change from the start of her arc to the end of it.

sorry you missed me.
NIGGA WHAT

Except it doesn't. It's the most standard trash you can give for a game with bad writing. If it was real development she wouldn't be one note after that.

It's shitty linear hallways but worse

>Except it doesn't.
It does, regardless of your opinion of those cutscenes or the character.

>It's the most standard trash
We're not talking about the quality of the writing, we're talking about whether or not the development exists to begin with. You haven't compared it to Mitsuru, also.

NIGGA WAT

This sounds like we could make a new thread

No it doesn't. Saying it does doesn't make it true. Nothing significant happens since she's the same exact character from start to finish.

It's shitty linear hallways but worse

NIGRESS WATT

>Nothing significant happens since she's the same exact character from start to finish.
She's not, as she's not accepting of the PTs at first and bows down to the Principal and Sae to meet their expectations and go to a good university, which she does not do at the end of her arc because she has developed beyond it. You still haven't compared it to Mitsuru's development, also.

nah we're all done here

Give it a few hours.

It's shitty linear hallways but worse

What demon would you marry, Yea Forums?

Attached: 1556337544159.jpg (860x1165, 359K)

She is. That's not a significant change, that's basic bitch anime tropes your average LN does better. She still acts one note from beginning to end

CRACKA U HIGH WHAT YA SAY?

I don't respect Demons enough to marry them.

It's shitty linear hallways but worse

NIGGA I CANT HEAR YOU. WHAT U SAY?

Demons are (canonically speaking) 1D in personalities, so no

It's a more significant change than being more resolved and going back to normal after being down in the dumps though, and it's a more significant change in behavior to go from Makoto being hostile towards the PTs and fearful of those who have power over her than it is for Mitsuru to largely behave the same but be more resolved to go up Tartarus.

It's shitty linear hallways but worse.

It's not significant change, having a long time spam doesn't change it's filled with nothing. If it was a significant change, personalities would alter or new discoveries made.

What

It's shitty linear hallways but worse. Not hard to grasp.

>having a long time spam doesn't change it's filled with nothing
It's already been established that the cutscenes with that timeframe encompass the change, not the timeframe itself.

>personalities would alter or new discoveries made.
They were as I just mentioned with how she changes her attitude towards Sae and the Principal as well as being accepting of the PTs. Also you still haven't compared her to Mitsuru

What?

Ive started but never finished a bunch of SMT, they always get overwhelming near mid game. What do you anons like about thats so appealing and you keep playing?

No, the space of time over which an arc is covered isn't an indicator of it being significant, if it was it would be filled with things.

They usually have some unique quality to them that's enough to maintain my interest and if they don't the OST, fusion and artstyle usually keeps me going.

>if it was it would be filled with things
It is, those being the aforementioned cutscenes which encompass that dungeon, its lead up and its aftermath.

It's not. Basic garbage any LN writer does better isn't significant

The quality is irrelevant, as has been mentioned numerous times now. Also, you still haven't compared it to Mitsuru's development.

That's an Ostrich brother, he doesn't even know what a Persona is.

No, there's nothing there. She doesn't have a arc. It's not significant

There are the cutscenes, which create the arc and lend it significance by showing her change and how it happened, for each of those sentences respectively.

There's lots of cutscenes since it isn't a game. It's a crappy VN. Doesn't change there's nothing there

Not him, and I think he's wrong, but I think he's trying to communicate he feels like P5's dungeons are overly long and offer not a lot of gameplay variety outside of puzzles.

There is, that being those cutscenes which detail her character development.

P5 just has shitty level design mostly

what?

>can't control your party
Never really had a problem with this, only once in final bossfight where I wished I could tell them to not attack when repel is up.

There isn't. Lots of repetitive dialogue doesn't mean anything when it's not a significant change.
