I started playing it yesterday and I'm havinga lot of trouble getting around the art, it's so inconsistent. Some portraits, like Alice's, are very well done, but then you have some portraits that are amateur level, the backgrounds are like PS1 era CGs...

It has a sequel called MGQ Paradox. Expect it to be finished and fully translated by 2030 or so.

I have no clue why, but Alma Elma really did it for me.

Multiple artists collaborated on this game. The artist that did Alice and a small handful of other characters was the best out of all of them. He also worked on monster girl encyclopedia, so you can check some of the illustrations there.
I vaguely remember some drama about that guy, but who cares.

MGQ is one of those really wierd porn games where the porn steadily gets worse and it becomes all about the story. Like holy shit, it really does make you feel like a big goddamn hero.

Part 1 and 2 Tamamo was a very unique character and easily the most universally loved out of MGQ. She was this laid back goofy granny who had power and wisdom well beyond her appearance. She never felt like an enemy, even when you fight her in part 2 it was more like she was teaching you and had no ulterior motive (Alma was also teaching you but wanted to hora hora you more), hell she basically just tells you what you need to do to win so if you lose it's your own dumb fault.
Then there's Tamamo in her ending in part 3 where she's just a generic evil Kitsune who kills for fun.

Gonna have to disagree with your interpretation there chief. She mentions about her ancestor body being so good that men would willingly give their souls for it, and that shit happened centuries prior. She doesn't make any indication that she's gonna start doing that again, or to her new lover Luka - just the usual 'gonna rape the shota silly' thing, only in her unsealed body (which she can't maintain forever in any case).

For the rest of Part 3, Tamamo's still goofy and friendly. Except when she has to get serious against her Next Doll, who never stood a chance anyway. The real crime is that we never got to spend more time with the Knights themselves, as for all their charm they could still have seen more development.

I dream of the day of a high budget MGQ OVA that actually adapts the story.

Her appearance really changes once she shows her true form. She definitely looks older in addition to being a monstrosity.

Because no matter how close they got, she'd willingly give it all up if he ever missteps. You could argue she's just hardcore like that, but that still puts a damper on all her more candid moments & draws all intimacy into question—i.e., creates a confusing tone due to contradictory character motivations, if you want me to be pedantic.
I wouldn't mind if she was consistently hardcore, sticking with Luka out of a mere sociopathic fascination, but the more heartfelt aspects of her personality just leaves her a mess.
Granted, I only played game one, so maybe they came up with a better reason for Bad Ends in the sequels and she acts believably, but goddamn was Part One frustrating.

It's completely in line with her character though. She took her role as monster lord extremely (even down to martyrdom) seriously so she can't show clemency to a a human hero. In parts 1 and 2, the only situations in which Alice gave Luka direct aid using her powers or title were situations in which she would have interfered regardless as monster lord.

Paradox is trying to do the proper romance thing more. Though it's a different Alice and they're missing some of the best parts of their relationship from the main games it's still cute and you get more interaction time and less time spent with her as a mentor and more as a friend/romantic interest. Her loli form makes her teasing/bullying even better, like it was very briefly in Part 3.

There's nothing stolen. Most of the music is from royalty free music packs on DLsite, the rest is free (as in freedom) from various musician's homepages.

unironically probably one of my favorite stories in any rpg, it reminds me a lot of Tales of Symphonia's story but more focused. Luka easily became one of my favorite protags.
