I play video games about 2-3 hours per weeknight, and on weekends it's pretty much a free-for-all unless I have plans with friends, usually clock in around 20 or so hours most weekends

9-10pm, sometimes 11 if I'm feeling frisky.
Weekends can be the entire day if I don't have plans.

Advice for resume? Last thread made a big deal about excluding college education.

Horticulture Gardening sounds so comfy but the pay is abysmal. I don't even care about pay that much I mostly just want to move to America from Canada to escape the winter.

I didn't in my last job. Working in financial markets, not even anything fancy just doing FX and hedging for mid sized business clients. Hours on the contract were 9-5 (and that's what I was paid for), but meetings were scheduled for 8am every day so you had to be in for those, and the trading desk was open until 6pm so had to stay until it closed too. Was frowned on if you came in after 7am and left before 7pm. Not paid for an second of that extra work.

Chucked it and got a job as a data analyst in the public sector. It'd be hell if you actually cared about your job, it's a beurocratic nightmare and everyone around and above you is a moron so nothing ever gets done right, but because of that I can do fuck all and no one notices, it's almost impossible to be fired and every minute of overtime I do I get back as time off later. Less money but a far better life.

If I had any actual goals that I cared about I wouldn't be wasting my time shitposting on Yea Forums.

It's less of a big deal than it would be normally because I'm living at home rent free, so it's not like I'm blowing money on rent while waiting to buy a house.

It's a case of either setting myself back a few months by spending some of the deposit, or sticking myself with car payments on top of the mortage for a year or two once I buy the house. Still deciding which way to go.

I work part time at a college library, the pay is good, but I only work 24 hours a week. I walk 5 minutes to work.

I had a full time job before but I had to drive almost 2 hours a day. The job was loose enough I'd come in late, and leave early, but fuck being in the car that long every day.

I'm honest, realistic and concise, bordering on curt at times, it baffles me when I hear people recommending others to waffle on and on about your bullshit life experiences and muh positives and drawbacks. Most interviews are incredibly short, don't give a fuck about your past life since they've got your resume right in front of you, and most ask you very direct questions that don't allow for much wiggle room. Maybe American work interview procedures are radically different or something.

There honestly isn't any need-to-know tips. Do the expected stuff: Dress appropriately, be open and friendly, act like you're interested, etc.
At this point you've got little idea what would make them pick you over someone else they're interviewing. They know your resume, the rest is just what the interviewer thinks of you - and there's really nothing that works 100% of the time.
I've had questions like "do you prefer to do two jobs so they're 80% done, or one job so it's 100% done?"; "do you prefer to focus on smaller subjects or branch out and get the bigger overview?"; "What is one thing you can't do that you'd like to be able to?". Stuff like that often has no correct answer. I usually get in anywhere from 2-5 hours of game time on the days I work, but then I get 3 days off in a row to game as much as I want. It still never feels like I have enough time, because when I spend that time gaming I'm also sacrificing time I could be using to play piano, read, draw, or work on the board game I'm trying to make. I rarely watch television or movies, but if I do I usually do so while playing a game, to spend my time most efficiently. I really envy NEETs, although it's nice to have money and not live in complete depravity, too.

Some aussie dude I played wow with a few years ago was in some chemical/explosive accident in work.
