All bastions of faith still stand, criticism or "proof" of it being false do nothing to undermine it's validity, religion is a personal and individualistic practice, faith doesn't need objective evidence to be maintained. Their own religion is still alive to those who consider themselves members of that faith, just as Christianity is a dead religion to those who don't consider themselves it's faithful. Nihilisitc atheists are the ones who judge the validity of a religion based on true or false, what they can or can't see.
