Pretty good, really loved the atmosphere of some of the levels.
It pisses me off that 2 made nearly every skybox light and cloudy, but I'd say it's the better game overall.

They sure do make me nostalgic for the older times. Back when a 3D Mario was challenging, engaging and chockful of great level designs, unlike the vapid trite shit that is Odyssey.

Also, Mario's gimped moveset and floaty physics feel awful outside of levels you'd believe are in space. The first game was also a fucking chore thanks to how piss easy it was.

Absolutely loved the first one. Got all the stars with Mario then with Luigi. The first is a perfect game. Second one wasn't bad, but I wasn't crazy about some of the levels and power ups.

Ahead of its time. For a Mario game on the Wii, it had a Super Mario 64 feel that made it extremely fun to play. Unironically the best game on the Wii you can buy.

The games are way too linear to be considered 3d Mario. They are more similar to 3d world in structure.

first galaxy is my favourite game ever
second one is amazing too, but it's a lot faster paced meaning the individual levels are less memorable. also, and i know this is stupid because it's fucking mario, but i wish the second one made at least some effort with the story
