I do but I think its more than that. Lots of her other outfits look really nice as well. I think I just hate the poofy shoulders and dress of her base outfit, they are too distracting.

I enjoy making Estelle wear that outfit more than I should. Even made me keep her in the party (despite wanting to try out some different team members in my second playthrough) and switch over to controlling her, but it doesn't work out so well.

Nah. I liked Vesperia as a young lad but it doesn't really hold up anymore. Plot never goes anywhere. Your party is likable enough though. I haven't liked any game in the series though.

she sports a high physical defense and has access to pretty much all the mainstay healing artes in the series as well as a decent arsenal of physical and magic artes, like pow hammer and photon

Yeah, she actually manages to take the most punishment out of the whole group on average. Vesperia loves to infinite stagger your characters with a bunch of enemies sometimes, something that can instantly destroy Yuri on higher difficulties and lower levels. For this, she's obviously just as useful for distracting a ton of mobs as she is healing. Overall she's a pretty good Paladin. I'd say her heals can be quickly overshadowed by good play and use of Raven and Karol for backup, though. She's really there for early-game Yuri players just running into every attack they see.

Probably because you continue to gain levels but don't get to upgrade your armors, so Estelle's defense growth actually start making difference. During the main game her defense is just somewhat between a mage and a fighter.

How do I manage fighting and healing when playing as Estelle, though? On Hard difficulty casters get targeted relentlessly and Raven quickly runs out of TP when alone on healing duty. Do I really need to put Karol in my party, too, to keep up?
Or is using Cavalry good enough to get a Nurse out when necessary? I can't use an overlimit every time I try to heal.

Huh, I don't really remember anyone being able to take many hits before death other than Karol and Estelle early game, but maybe that's just me. Yuri often gets overwhelmed pretty quickly by link encounters(and gl if you're holding a fucking axe), but Estelle seems like she can just free run and tank a few hits to get out of the crowd.

Well, if you refuse to just fight, then yeah, Karol is going to be nice due to aid smash. His AI in particular isn't great with it, however, but it's a fast, roughly 20% heal to keep you alive during the worst moments.
For Raven, it's probably good if you're the only chick in the party, as he prioritizes the ladies. You'd be sacrificing Rita, though, whos AI can just dump aoe damage on the free when you limit her spells. Love shots will go straight to you, and you can stay in the frontlines and attack. As for TP management on Raven, yeah that's always kinda been an issue for me. I don't play Estelle specifically much, and fights may just unfortunately be longer for her because melee AIs like Yuri and Repede just love to get stunlocked to death.
