Why did he cave from just a list of people he blackmailed?

Some people actually cave when faced with proof of their crimes, even when it's not directly tied to them. Beyond that, I think it was just supposed to be a point that despite being portrayed as successful and confident, Redd White is actually a pretty weak person emotionally when you bring him down to the level of the average man.
Feels like there was supposed to be more to this storyline that would be told later but that it was scrapped.
Weak inside like every sociopath
Is this true?
More importantly, why didn't Edgeworth object to the defense LITERALLY blackmailing the witness into confessing?
People of his scope don't just give up that easily.
Correct. He was probably Phoenix's biggest profile prey, and happened right at the second case.
You don't know what you are talking about.
The writing was shaky.
How was it blackmail? All she did was read a list of names outloud without making any threats or claims, its no ones fault that he instantly cracked and gave himself away.
>"Mr. White. Admit your guilt, right here, right now. Or else this list will be released to the press!"

Ace Attorney 7 when
TGS most likely.
>People of his scope don't just give up that easily.
You don’t personally know anyone of his scope.
God do I hope so, I'd kill for a new AA game and not another remaster.
This. Quite a few criminals in AA are far from criminal masterminds, and when you catch them out of their element they're fucked. It's consistent with their character.
Yes I do. Politicians who do the same shit as him. I've seen countless decisive evidence presented against them, yet they keep saying they are innocent, even after being put into jail.
because he a punk ass bitch up 2 no good

This. I'm playing it for the first time with the trilogy, and i already know i want more. It'll also be nice to get another new game from Capcom for the Switch instead of more overpriced ports.
White was framed by a HACK. I'm glad he was exposed, Wacky Wrong must be crying!
>TGS
miss me with that unmissable shit
And you've never seen a single politician resign from running because something came up that might link them to criminal activity? Really?
Why didn't he just say it was irrelevant to the case like the wiretapping?
>this kills the turnabout amateur
>Get caught forging evidence
>Get disbarred from practicing law
>Go into hiding for seven years
>Somehow be allowed to "help" in setting up and executing the trial run of a new legal system
Why was he allowed to choose the case and the jurors when he was still disbarred?
I bet the list was some more forged evidence
Wacky Wrong has made a sham mockery of our judicial system. Should've gotten a bigger punishment than just being disbarred. What about all the vicious killers he's let loose on society? All the innocent heroes like Von Karma (RIP) now imprisoned?
Phoenix was proven innocent, have you played the games?
What kinda high you on user? He only finally got caught and disbarred a few weeks ago
Good gif you posted tho, my only hope for the judicial system lies with that young simon lad. If he turns out to be twisted too, I would lose all hope in the law.
Nope.
>he's not up to date with current Phoenix Wright lore
He was found to have forged evidence just a couple of weeks ago
>A few weeks ago
Apollo Justice came out in 2008 Phoenix was disbarred and re-barred within his own game.
I've always felt like this story arc came way too fast, not that I didn't enjoy it.
Mia's death is something I would've expected way later in the game.
>rich and powerful person goes to prison for their crimes
This game isn't even trying to be realistic is it?
>Apollo Justice
What are you talking about, user? Is that supposed to be a name or something?
This. Didn't he also blackmail the Judge? Why would the judge allow a guilty verdict?
Clearly you guys don't play the games, what are you doing in here?
(They are roleolaying as if it was happening irl rn)
newfag
check the ingame case dates, newfriend
By the time TGS rolls around it'll have been 3 years since AA6 was released. 2 since DGS2 was released as well (mainline and DGS had separate dev teams). Either the AA mainline team has been disbanded (doubtful), or they've been cooking up their next project for awhile now. Same goes for Takumi's team.
They announce AA7 along with Phoenix's inclusion in Smash. How would you react?
>"Admit your guilt, right here, right now. Or else this list will be released to the press!"
Guys like him are always nervous wrecks on the inside.
>Redd White of Bluecorp
>killed Mia
>Godot can't see red on white
>so he blamed it on blue (Phoenix) instead
How did Shu Takumi do it?
It’s anecdotal, but I was watching this YouTube video where real lawyers critique the portrayal of court scenes in fiction and they said they’d never heard of shit like this happening IRL where someone cracks on the bench and just confessed. At worst they’d talk to their lawyer and plea out before the trial wraps
k i n o
He'll be back
Im just excited for dai gyakuten saiban 2 now. From what i know, it seems equivalent to going from the original AA to TaT without anything in the middle.
OP here. Is this one of the weaker cases?
I'm starting to think all the people who said DGS 1 was bad before the translation came out were just parroting someone else's opinion. The game is pretty great.
It's average at best. Stick through until the end of the game, the cases pick up with the 4th.
It's not that great. Mostly serves as a plotdevice to get rid of your mentor and introduce your apprentice and rival. But it's fine, not bad, just middling.
Generally the best cases are at the end of each game, bar some exceptions.
I'm still confused, was he a good guy or a bad guy? didn't he just want the orb for his daughter?
I don't know but it sure has a lot of asspulls.
Mostly bad but with some good sides to him, though nowhere near as bad as his wife
Why the fuck does Phoenix show off his decisive evidence to ACTUAL MURDERERS when they're alone?
I'm sure the list Mia had was actually really long. With the threat that she'd reveal the list to the press, she pretty much locked him out of options: If he admited it, he'd go to jail; if he didn't then the whole press and the whole police would begin a mass investigation to confirm the reasons of death and suicide of his blackmail victims and even in the case he'd still be found not guilty, his reputation would have hit rock bottom and his company would have lost all credibility. He was beaten by the same method he used against his "clients".
Daily reminder.
Why did they retcon Gant and Apollo's relationship anyway? It's clear they were related.
Why did this allow testimony from a fucking parrot?
So are people who are found guilty instantly killed in the Ace Attorney world?
Ace Attorney would be far more "realistic" if Phoenix Wright just focused on getting his client found not guilty.
The most egregious example was the Ron DeLite case, where Wright was going to get him acquitted, but seemed to be more concerned about the fact that Luke Atmey may get away with something. He's a defense attorney, not a detective or prosecutor.
Really? I'm enjoying it but it just seems lacking in a lot of ways. Considering that case 2 and 3 are both really short (2 is really a glorified tutorial case) and none of the characters outside of the main cast are especially memorable or entertaining I'd definitely say it's one of the weaker entries in the series. It's below the trilogy (obviously) and AAI2 and SoJ for sure, I'd put it about on par with DD and above AJ and AAI.
I wish I could understand what this tier list is suppose to convey. Every time I look at it, I think it's a tier list of the chapters but every other time it derails from that entirely
Bruh I kind of just want Edgeworth remasters in English, I'll even settle for phone ports
It talks about memes/jokes/doujins that frequently appear in Ace Attorney threads.
Why would the games need remasters? They look perfectly fine now, and AAI2 has a fan translation.
But if Luke got away, then Double Jeopardy would lead to Ron being the killer in the court's eyes. Phoenix had no choice.
>and AAI2 has a fan translation.
Hoo-ray... a fan translation.
>shows the letter to von Karma when he knows the motherfucker wrote it
Phoenix isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
What's the best way to play 4-6 at 1080 on PC? Android emulator or 3DS emulator?
It's just as good as any official Capcom translation.
Just buy a 3DS, they're dirtcheap by now.
4 is on DS too.
I have it. I'm trying to show them off to my youtube-loving brother who prefers watching games to playing. He's already watching me play the trilogy.
Kinda bad guy, but he did genuinely love Rayfa and wanted the best for her, it seems
>based retard or ascended jester?
Get him to actually play the games.
Apollo is cute
It's a very good translation
Lost cause. Trust me.
godot best boy
Kick his zoomer ass.
The series is kind of devoted to this type of convict. Case 3 had someone with Mafia ties, Case 4 had a legendary prosecutor, and it was easily the story we were led into. Later on, Case 5 reflects this sentiment
I like JFA because it takes a break from this trend. Cases are really not tied together, and you have some weak stuff, and real heavy hitters.
On one hand, he probably wasn't quick enough to catch up to what was going on, on the other hand, it was implied Edgeworth was given orders, and even the Judge was under Redd White's influence.
>who is blackquill
>who is masters
>who is dahlia
