The game was originally intended to be on ps3 and be much more ambitious. The city was one large connected structure and the story was going to be longer. Vita held Gravity Rush back creatively, I'm glad they finally brought it to console in the end.

That being said I think Gravity Rush would be more at home with Nintendo and a switch game probably wouldn't hold the graphics back too badly, so I'd be for that. Otherwise let's hope we get Gravity Rush 3 on PS5 some day.

I played GR1 after 2 and while I liked 1 well enough outside of the story getting pretty weird towards the end I think it's objectively better than 1.
I always thought the vita was a pretty had piece of hardware for any large scale game though.

As i said, the pacing is horrible on the second one, maybe the first one wasn't much better, but it was on a handheld, where i just didn't care that much, i played it on a plane and first hours of a game were much more interesting than "let's mine orbs for couple of hours, then let's go the city and do more fetch quests"

I don't remember there being many mandatory fetch quests and even then you could just fly around and have fun, the first few hours were some of the most fun I've ever had playing a video game and it made me real happy that I had got a ps4.

I enjoy games where you can just explore and soak up the world around you and the atmosphere. Not everything has to be action. I think it's clear Last Guardian and Gravity Rush weren't really your thing, because the things I liked about them are generally their main appeal for most fans.

The flashback shit isn't very exciting but the end is nice.
It's not 10/10 or anything but I can't see it ruining the series for you.

Like I said, me being into that kind of stuff makes it easier for me to enjoy 2. But the Jirga Para Lhao chapter did have a pretty filler-y plot in the grand scheme of things. The story in the first game is much more focused. I don't know if you finished GR2 but I found that the story picks up when you return to Hekseville, which is when the game actually starts to behave like a sequel and wraps up things from the first game.

Not enough Yunica and Permet though.

You might've actually liked the Hekseville stuff, shame the first section drags so much. Problem is the devs wanted to make use of the new hardware and create a new city but it removes you from the place you were invested in from the first game. I like having two cities to explore but I think Hekseville should've been accessible a little earlier than it was in GR2.

I can't say I was attached to it since I started with 2 but I actually think the showing off hardware was nice, flying around was great.
I certainly liked it when I got there too, and I even went back to play the first game, but I think both sections were great.

I think that was the point. Since Kat started the first game in a new and unfamiliar place that she (and the player) had to discover on their own, the same is with the start of the second game. And even when you do get comfortable with the new city the second acts cuts you off from it and sends you back to Heckseville and you need to readjust to Heckseville a bit after getting used to JPL.

Well GR2 was the first one I played so it was easier for me to get invested in the world and characters there. When I get to Hekseville I was overwhelmed at having another city to explore and all the references to the previous game there just gave me more incentive to pick up GR Remastered.

Some people might have played the first game and found Jirga less interesting because it wasn't Hekseville but I think the characters there are just as good and are pretty well written, especially Lisa and Vogo who both start off as jerks/antagonistic characters but actually have a lot more to them. And the city is fun to explore too imo, the marketplace is great.

When I first played 2 a lot of the returning characters struck me as "and everyone remembers me and my exciting adventures from the first game!" but when I went and actually played the first game most of those character had more screen time and development in 2 than in 1.

How soon did you quit the game? Kat does go back to Hekseville and there are some other new areas, too, such as Neu Hiraleon.

Change the Frenchinese to English so characters can say "fuck!" which would be really deep and cinematic and mature.

Not sure, i was doing couple quests in the paris like city, go find that guy, bring that thing. I really like the looks of that game, with the moebius aesthetics, but man, the gameplay itself is boring and as i said, i could only play that on a handheld now, i only like tv playing for fast games really.

I don't recall anything where you would spend anything even close to 10 minutes mining near the beginning of the game. You're either exaggerating or absolutely the worst miner there is.

You don't spend a lot of time mining unless you're specifically mining for talismans.

GR2 remains my favorite PS4 game.

It's a time wasting boring mechanic that shouldn't have been in the the first part of the game.

You don't really have to mine except for the 10 minutes or so. However, it is good training, especially if you want to complete the Delvool Trench mine. As a bonus, you can get talismans which can really power up Kat.

It definitely is more that 10 mintues, you mine in the beginning pov of the game, then return with some asshole then go mine some more for the asshole guy, it wasn't 10 fucking minutes.

If I remember correctly, the beginning of the game has you mining maybe 2 minutes. Most of that part of the game is running away from the gravity storm. The second thing you talk about is the Vogo storyline, I think, where you are dropped into the Enchanted Zone where is where you learn Lunar style. The actual mining can easily be done in under 10 minutes.
