By all means its a great game, not the best Mario game but it is good. It did nothing to really push the genre at all and didn't really do anything we haven't see before. Really think you need to revaluate your opinion after you get a little bit more knowledge/experience with other video games.

Odyssey's level design is so bland it can barely be describe as a platformer. It's weird how Nintendo can release objectively bad games, inferior to their predecessors, and no one even notices it. It seems everything with the "Nintendo seal of Quality" is automatically a master piece.
