>they think smartphones can't have keyboards
A sad day for us blackberry chads

how is this phone, really?

it intrigues me

Try requesting the desktop site

they don't make it anymore and the company that did make it went out of business

what? i saw this shit at bestbuy like a month ago. is this not a blackberry or am i confusing it with a similar thing?

Thats a blackberry keyone
I'm literally posting on one right now

I miss keyboards on phones. I was so good at typing on my old one that I could type out entire paragraphs without even looking at the phone

redpill me pls

they were fucking retarded. it's wasted space and something else that could break

those are blackberries
they've been back blackberrymobile.com/us/

ZOOM ZOOM KALE MALE

>its retarded because i dont like it
piss off child

Phones with physical keyboards are all but extinct because they're shit.

The market has spoken.

go play fortnite

Go buy a phone with a physical keyboard...oh no, you can't.

More like because touch screens are cheaper and people like you are too poor for such luxurious items

Definitely. People who buy 1.5k iPhones are too poor for blackberry plastic shit.

blackberrymobile.com/us/
amazon.com/s?k=blackberry

calm down lil zoom

I bought It only so I could emulate gbc games without using shitty on screen buttons
But I fell in love with it.
>typing with actual feedback from the buttons
>hands don't block the screen when typing
>normal size with an actual bezel and relatively thick, so it's durable
>shortcut key to open any app/do functions that would require a floating button on another phone
>relatively cheap compared to most modern smartphones

But it's not all good though
>physical buttons means there's more things to break
>Screen size isnt standard, so watching a video in full-screen gives you black bars on the top and bottom
And probably a few more things I'm forgetting

I don't play many games other than emulators so I can't speak to how strong it is desu

>the market has spoken
More like "ad companies say you don't want physical keyboards, and then people believed they had that thought the entire time"

Holy fuck I want a physical keyboard again. I'd even accept just the old 12 button system, I was a speed demon on that shit back in the day. I fucking hate soft keyboards. Ree.

thanks for the info user

>T9
My brethren

Np
I wish physical keyboard phones would make a comeback instead of being a niche meme. But as it is now the current blackberry line is relatively cheap and a solid phone.

I suspect physical keyboards are just too niche in terms of the actual number of people who feel they improve the UX enough to be justified

While I like the idea of mechanical feedback, having a physical keyboards does give disadvantages as well: It's more mechanical components that can be subject to more wear and tear than a touch screen, you also have to compromise on space - either the screen has to be smaller to accommodate the buttons or the phone becomes Xbox hueg.
Economies of scale just don't kick in enough to make phones with physical keyboards very economical to make as a purchase anymore.

ive had 4 physical keyboard phones when they were popular. ive never had a problem with any of them, i think "mechanical failure" is an excuse for phone makers to just not do it, in order to really save money

if apple made a phone with a physical keyboard, all the zoomers who decide they don't want one suddenly would want one

Apple will never make one since they couldnt push the
BIGGER SCREEN
THINNER
SMALLER BEZEL
meme anymore.

I can definitely see where you're coming from, but mechanical failure is a legit issue
More parts = more things that can fail
It's a fact

I remember when I was a kid and thought that would work with my dad's phone to play ToonTown wherever I wanted.

Well they won't, that's why they are Apple. Even hypothetical scenario like that either makes it impossible to envision such a product from Apple or makes it a non Apple product

I miss it so fucking much bros, this phone was amazing.

Attached: B8F656E9-B376-4A5E-B51F-329D6F1D40CD.jpg (437x357, 29K)

Dumb zoomer. Phones had buttons for decades and they were never a problem.

Swipe typing is way better than than a shitty tiny physical keyboard

Hey I'm posting on that exact phone.
Neat! I thought I was the only one.

Nah, keys are faster.

What's up fellow Blackberrychad(s)?
Should I contemplate upgrading to the Key2?

This. Fuck touchscreens. Fuck the iPhone for ruining cellphones forever.
Consider this: Phones now have power enough to emulate fucking Gamecube/PS2 games. THink of all the fucking console games that we once dreamt of having on handhelds, and now we can... except they're FUCKING GARBAGE TOUCHSCREEN TRASH

Dumb little zoomer.
Fucking T9 is faster than touchscreen flopping.

>dumb zoomer
user I'm I own a phone with a physical keyboard, posting with it as we speak.
Id like to think Id have experience with this, since I'm using it.

>swipe typing
>cant type words that arent real words
>cant use abbreviations
>cant type words that have double letters if a single letter form exists

Based
From my research, I don't think the keytwo is worth getting, I haven't seen any real reason to do so. Doesnt have any extra selling points to make it worth the extra cost

>I own a phone with a physical keyboard, posting with it as we speak.
>Id like to think Id have experience with this, since I'm using it.
You have experience with your Blackberry keys breaking? Why the fuck are you shilling it then?

Blackberries still exist

I wish they made a Priv2, mine is starting to show its age, but man, sliding up to pick up calls is still the best thing ever

Attached: blackberry-priv-8.jpg (527x414, 63K)

Stop being pedantic, you’re coming off as retarded.

Not him, but i own one. God tier battery life, keyboard is great - though not as good as it was in other berries (mostly due to weird weight balance, it has this huge display up top), touch layer on a keyboard is kinda useless except for when you want to move text cursor around, you can't root it to fuck around, blackberry software is excellent and i can't live without hub, build quality is worthy of blackberry. Oh, and display could be better. Overall, it's pretty good.

So it's better to just a screen that cracks and having no other input method, right?

>mobile """"gaming""""

Attached: 1506673748062.jpg (321x340, 34K)

I've been using it for years, how that fuck are anyones keys breaking!?
Honest question

>pedantic
Do you even know what that word means?
I'm not arguing semantics here. I'm just calling you out for being a retard.

Only the spacebar came partially off after I dropped it and it landed keys first on the edge of the counter before hitting the floor
But it's not like it came off through normal wear and tear.
However you cannot say with a straight face that more parts doesn't equal more pieces that have a chance to break.

The Priv wasn't the one for me, the Keyone however is God-tier!

I've had a Keyone for a year and a half and haven't had any keys break because I don't always drop my phone like a fucking retarded ass normalfag.

That's the point. That user claimed the Blackberry had the disadvantage of having more mechanical parts, which means it will break more easily. Which of course is just completely retarded, when you consider that phones have had keys for decades without that ever being an issue.
He's a zoomer who wasn't even born before the "smartphone" became standard.

Well, I baby all my electronics, so I'm pretty safe from blunt damage.

I've had a Keyone for a year and i haven't had any keys break even though i dropped it couple times like a fucking retarded ass normalfag. Yes, more mechanical parts = higher chance of malfunction, but buttons are nothing to worry about. They just sit in their little button grid module, doing button things, never getting loose or anything.

Are phones videogames? Have we come full circle?

Here is a simple list to what to get if you really want one

>I want a cheap one and I don't care about android
Blackberry Classic, great keys, awesome design, cheap and battery lasts for days
You can kinda side load some android apps, but its mostly BB10 applications for you

>I want a 16:9 screen ratio so I can watch shit on it
Blackberry priv, runs android, will probably run most emulators on it
Sliding it up and down is super fun too
Battery is ass, get used to recharging it twice a day at least if you normal use it and it can slow down in some apps (mainly instagram does that to it)

>I just want a good battery man
Get a Blackberry KeyOne (OP's phone)

>I want a good battery and I want the latest thing
Get a BB Keytwo

>I want to be the quirky dude
Get a Blackberry Passport

Phones = penises
Phones with buttons = uncut fags
Phones without buttons = cutfags
lol

Attached: haha.png (344x299, 70K)

Great analysis user...

Attached: [email protected] (427x240, 755K)

For most people it wasn't
But I fell in love with this thing
its also a looker
every one I go people ask me what phone is that
Then I open the slider and it blows their minds
Specially with kids, its like they have never seen a slider phone

What's the best cheapish smartphone to buy nowadays? I really don't know shit about them, and right now am using a 9 year old phone whit shit camera that keeps freezing in simple apps like messenger.

wait a minute, this is not /g/, what the hell

Uh, persona 3 portable works really well with keyone buttons. In faster action games you have to map six buttons to get a comfortable navigation (for example Q/A for left, W for front, S for back, E/D for right) but persona doesn't need that because you can comfortably maneuver with just front + side buttons to turn camera around. Good stuff.

>calling phones-with-buttons users third worlders
rude

can you buy chink?
Xiaomi makes some android iphones clones that are cheap and have some real good horsepower under the hood
Just remember, its cheap for a reason and that reason is child labor

Yeah, like I said it wasn't for me. But it was the one I was originally going to get, but then the keyone came out and fixed some of the problems I had with the Priv.

yeah ive dropped mine a couple times, the only thing that happened is the backplate popped off and i could just pop it back in
the removal of keys was quite literally only done to make phones smaller because thats what marketing execs have decided people like

>tfw thirdworlders are new firstworlders
feelsbadman.jpg

>cant type words that arent real words
>cant use abbreviations
If you type the fake word/abbreviation out normally once or twice, the phone learns and lets you swipe it

>cant type words that have double letters if a single letter form exists
To type double letters, you just squiggle on the key. Works every time

I can still literally do that.
>screen that cracks
Never happened to me.

It literally isn't tho. Get better at swiping, plebs

>to make phones smaller

Have none of you been alive when Steve did his meme presentation on the first iPhone?

it was literally so to get a bigger screen experience without having to compromise on the screen size
it was such a WOW moment in tech that every one tried to follow
and it fucking ruined phone designs, after that everything is a slap of plastic/glass with a screen on front, no more super quirky nokia designs, you get black slabs with a screen

Get better at typing, zoomie

I saw someone with a flip phone yesterday. He was a dude in his 50s.

This. Plus, phones have been getting actually larger for at least the last 10 years.

fuck i wish phone screens were smaller
having to design webpages around some skinny memephoneshit size is fucking impossible
vertical resolutions are fucking awful

I drop my keyone constantly and still haven't broken a key. I've smashed the volume button in a bit so changing volume is a hassle but I really had to smash the hell out of it for that to happen.

I fucking hated reworking websites to display correctly on mobile.
phoneposters everywhere are scum.

>tfw typing posts without even looking at the device because you can feel keyboard under your fingers, which makes typing an intuitive finger-only task
swype is possibly quicker when you want to type something basic, but god it's uncomfortable. i had qwerty smartphones and full-touch ones, i've stopped chatting on the device after i got my first full touch. for couple years i pretended it's okay, then i got qwerty again, now i'm replying to emails and writing huge ass blogposts without even breaking a sweat. keyboards are so comfortable, it's wonderful

I don't hate Reddit, I hate how this board resembles it.

but dont forget.... this site supposedly hates reddit!

>i don't hate reddit
>but i hate this board because it looks like a reddit, which i don't hate

yeah and my keyboard never broke so what's your point?

What are you arguing?

The two places were different and had their own merits, now they are homogenous, I dislike that.

Big brain stuff I know.

We need something like this, not that garbage that BlackBerry is churning out.

i'm here since ever, i saw threads like this one all the time here, and there is nothing reddit about them. i'm arguing that your "reddit" is a convenience word for "anything i don't like", which is particularly retarded because this thread is entirely harmless, it just hasn't started with a meme or an overused catch phrase.

o.k.

Based /pol/tard who can't stop thinking about dicks.

I don't understand how you fags want keyboard phones back. It's fucking horrible, the keys are too fucking small.

Blackberries last so long I see no reason to change. They're built without planned obsolescence in mind unlike iphone shit that I can keep using my day one KeyOne for another decade if I want. Even the battery is still as good as when I got it. That being said I'll probably get the KeyThree or KeyFour if there's a significant increase in processing power so I can emulate higher quality arcade shit.

stop eating so much and your fingers will be able to hit one key at a time again

Fuck you I'm not fat

Attached: fagcash.png (1024x1049, 20K)

OnePlus has nearly Stock Android with no bloat or a shitty OS, allows you to Root without breaking warranty, and has the same internals at like half the price of the other big phones. Also, they have 8gb of ram, so the phone is always super fast and responsive. Downsides are that the screen is "only" 1080p compared to the 1440p i think on a Galaxy, but the OP6's screen isn't bad looking by any means. Also, they don't have wireless charging if you're into that.

OnePlus is going to announce new phones on the 14th, including the OnePlus 7 Pro, which seems to be a more expensive ~$750 model that's gonna go toe to toe with the Galaxy if you really want top of the line specs.

youtube.com/watch?v=OqjF7HKSaaI

i'd get the keyone if you could rice it properly, why the fuck does it have software buttons WHEN IT HAS A KEYBOARD

It's not a matter of taste, it's fact that keyboards are better for typing. There's a reason why touch pads haven't replaced keyboards as input methods for desktop PCs. Touch screens are a fucking meme, like motion controls in vidya.

>notch

mommy can't buy new phones

>they really are the most aesthetic phones
SOME of the most aesthetic, there are actually better, but yeah, they can be look pretty damn fucking slick, I'll give apple that.
The first part you said is absolutely correct, though.

>vertical physical keyboard

That was a big problem when I was considering getting that phone. I prefer horizontal physical keyboards. More breathing room for the keys so you can have bigger keys and a less compressed experience for your thumbs.

Attached: 4hs67eq3j4bz.jpg (1000x667, 72K)

that's not true whatsoever, the reason it is not used on Desktop's is because the entire idea of a monitor would have to be rethought. You can't put a touch screen Keyboard on a monitor that stays a comfortable distance from your face, and in-which you also would have to pick up your arms to type with. Phones allow us to utilize touch keyboards without additional effort, much like a traditional keyboard on a desk allows for the same relaxed arm position.

Please don't speak about concepts you genuinely have no idea about :)

And there's a reason touch screens have replaced keyboards as input methods for phones. Because tiny keyboards are ass, and bulk up the phone a ton, which is unacceptable when it's something you carry around all day in your pocket.

actual retard

Attached: file.png (1200x800, 217K)

Why does no-one make phones like this anymore? It's just not fair.

My dream phone would have a slide-out horizontal keyboard, a user changeable battery, and a headphone jack. Instead, year after year it's thinner, smaller bezel, more expensive. It's always a glass rectangle with no other features. I fucking hate normalfags and what they have done to the smartphone market. Phones are already too thin and the bezels are already too small.

Attached: 342241452_498df9b126_z.jpg (500x335, 129K)

From a purely hardware standpoint, yeah iPhones are the most aesthetic. But android is way prettier compared to iOS. If you rice it, iOS looks like shit in comparison

>buy actual good quality clothes that don't get destroyed by having a phone
by 'ruin the line of your pants' i mean the fucking look of them, these horrible 5"+ modern phones just look fucking disgusting in your pocket, just jutting out, literally taking attention away from your package

Nothing can compare in that department to WinPhone. RIP ;_;

I mean i went from using andriod all my life to getting an iphone this year and I can honestly say I could give a shit what I use. Samgsung does have the better display though.

Forgot timestamp. Bend test is at 5:53

youtu.be/6RGq6WM5WBg?t=353

The worst shit with apple phones is that they don't just let you do what you fucking want, you can't even put an SD card in the fucking things.

It's not made by Blackberry. It just carries the name.

Also, why do they store photos so retardedly? On my android i just pull everything out of the DCIM folder onto my computer, on my gf's iphone there's like 6 different folders where the pics are just kind of randomly put.

>the market has spoken
"The market" determines demand, not quality.

>these horrible 5"+ modern phones just look fucking disgusting in your pocket,
Maybe if you use a big ass case or something. I wear exclusively skinny jeans and my phone doesn't make a noticeable bulge

Fxtec Pro1 is what you're looking for

I'm so sorry user

I have a huawei p20 which is around 6" with a very thin case and i still hate how it looks in my pants. Can't really solve this without having a tiny fucking display, unless, yknow, bendy phone. We've had flexible oled for ages, give me a fucking bendy phone, chinks.
cry more apple jew, i would rather be spied on by the government of a country i'm never going to fucking visit than have my details fed to mossad for execution the next time i'm in the US
lol rooting doesn't let you remove the physical spying chip
not that i give a shit though lol since yeah, not ever going to go to china

that's my phone and it's great

You can't complain about huawei's spyware if you aren't rooting your phone and disabling yours. All phones are spying on you, not just huawei

>sliding up to pick up calls
jesus christ i miss physically answering calls so fucking much
flip and slide phones were perfect, but frankly i just want a fucking button to answer rather than having to fucking swipe to answer, if i'm riding my bike and i get a call i've gotta stretch my tiny trump fingers over my giant fucking screen and hope to god that i can swipe it while also not being hit by a car

2 things.
1) obsessed much?
2) Surprisngly Huawei phones surprsingly send nothing really back, people have some pretty hardcore packet sniffing and looking at processes and didn't find anything. What actually is the worst for that is OnePlus phones, which get a free pass for whatever reason because Huwaii seems to be the one that triggers /pol/ types, maybe they dont know it is Chinese? Though to be fair, OnePlus devices have an unlocked bootloader and you can use ADB to remove their reporting services.

playing DS games on that phone is God tier

2 things.
1) free tibet
2) taiwan independence

ofc. I am not sure how that is pertinent to this thread though. Do you have tourrettes or something?

The way blackberry implemented the keyboard on that phone is fucked, the OS sees it as a software keyboard and you need their app to use it. As far as Android is concerned there's no physical keyboard attached.

People will buy just about anything the media pushes on them, and the tech companies are inevitably bought up by the same conglomerates that own the media. That's the free market.

That keyboard looks flat and not easy to feel

this is gangster.
this is not.
Why has nobody made a modern version of this?
Asus and Razer both made """"gaming""" phones and neither of them have this.you could make it notch free as well, by putting the camera on the controls.

It's just raised keys on a flat panel. It was tactile enough for me to be able to text with the phone in my pocket or look in front of me instead of the screen while walking.

have you tried just not dropping your phone?

Tibet will never be 'free', i guess you could return it to the control of a totalitarian monarchy if you really want.
Taiwan is essentially independent already since it enjoys the status of a bank for the corrupt chinese political elite, so long as they remain that way, they'll be fine.
What you SHOULD fucking care about is how Hong Kong, objectively the coolest city on the fucking planet, is gonna be fully in control of the PRC next year and will be ruined forever.

yea and the market called for fucking notches too

the only way this thing could scream ''gamer!'' any harder is if it was red/green with LED's

>doogee anything
>greatest anything
i mean, i love doogee, they're cheap as fuck, the titan is actually a pretty tough phone and their hardware is overall pretty good for the price, but don't pretend they're anything but a budget chinkphone.
It has absolutely nothing to do with gamers and likely doesn't have enough power to run any 3D mobile game. The doogee titan, along with all of those 'rugged' phones, is for people that work in construction and other industries where your phone might sustain a heavy impact while on the job.

add it to your personal dictionary, or just type it a few times normally and the phone will learn and add it by itself

what's the catch?

non-removable battery

Goddamn, I will never call another phone a brick again after seeing this thing

if you cannot use your phone as a blunt object to bludgeon someone with your phone is inferior. this thing is the greatest multi-tool. Need a hammer? Not with this thing around. Need to fend off the hordes of unwashed masses? It can do that too. It's even got a picture hanging mode. What more could you want?

Literally saw this exact picture on reddit earlier.

You could probably use that thing to hammer a nail into plywood.

No it won't, I curse daily multiple times a day for years and the duckers didn't learn anything

I bet you wear cargo shorts too, fag

Jeans, baby. These are the clothes of a working man.

He wears cargo pants with a rugged smartphone in each pocket, in the event of attack he strips off the cargo shorts and uses them like an improvised flail. None will survive.

Fucking retard, if people cared THEY'D JUST USE CONTROLLERS. Like holy shit neither my PC nor my console has any controls either, not even touch! Instead you... add that stuff on. Both iPhones and Android have standardized frameworks to make good use of controllers. And some games use them to awesome effect, which you'd know except that you yourself clearly can't be bothered to use one either!

Think about that: you could have easily gotten a bunch of physically controlled vidya for phone, including full emulation power of the games you describe, and yet you have not. What does that say user?

Attached: 5710389211.png (707x1000, 560K)

Ok you fucking nigger faggot

>implying emulators are playable even with a keyboard

I would unironically rather play a PS2 using touchscreen buttons than the .01mm wide keys on a physical keyboard

>carrying a large bulky controller with you.
Joycons are the only removable controller for a handheld that I have ever seen work well.

No shit it's a fucking brick, its supposed to be. You know those 'unbreakable' phone cases? This is basically a built in one, its for people that work/travel in environments where dropping a normal phone would be the phone's death sentence.

Enjoy your 800x600 video output on a 6-inch screen.

after using swiftkey for years literally 90% of the next recommended words it gives me are requests for drugs or racial slurs

>works on my machine
ok you bigger favor

these are lame because you cant qwerty type with one hand, idiots.

And how exactly would a keyboard fix that problem?

>>carrying a large bulky controller with you.
Right, that's the point. Side attach controllers and controller cases and such are all things that aren't that bulky, and many have the advantage of bumping up battery life too which you'd want if you're doing a bunch of vidya with it. Yet barely anyone uses them, even those that bitch about MUH TOUCH SCREENS RUINING GAYMIN. Which is why it's a retarded thing to complain about.

If it makes anyone feel better current phones are just waypoints on the way to AR/VR and that'll see different kinds of control schemes become a thing again.

Instead of controls covering the video area you have the entire screen

You probably have that setting turned off or something. Or maybe whatever keyboard you're using have that feature. Switch to Gboard, it's great

if games can detect shit like this they should have a force play option, change my mind

The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro are getting revealed in 2 days. The OnePlus 6 is a top of the line android flagship at only $550, and is better in many ways than a Galaxy, although it lacks some of the extra fancy features a Galaxy has.

The xperia play was objectively better controlling years and years ago.

Ask /g/

I got an OP6 for almost a year.(got it when it came out last year)
Best phone I ever had, battery is still lasting like the first day I opened it, camera is good, 0 lag on anything.
I'm planning to keep it until one plus7t is revealed and I'm gonna get that.

this is what peak smartphone ricing looks like

templeOS mobile edition

Yeah, same. I honestly haven't had a single problem or major complaint with my OP6. I'm gonna stick with it for another year tho, probably gonna get the OP8 or 8T when it comes out.

How the fuck do you do this?

No it's because nobody gives a real shit and integrated special purpose niche controls in a general purpose device are fucking retarded.

I'm still using 1+1. Works fine except the fucking touchscreen digitizer is slowly dying.

just made it myself using KLWP

I don't get the appeal of smartphones; I have one, but don't want to do much on it, since it's an inferior experience compared to a real computer. Am I just a boomer?

Sounds like you just never leave your house

The other user said keyboard which is niche.
Then you can say that the Asus or Razer phones are "general purpose" but they are selling them as "GAYMER" shit. the compromise for the feature would be nothing compared to what is made to have "gaming" laptops.

Meh I'm pretty much the same. Mostly use phone for calls and messaging.

I am probably going to get one, but this is pure shitposting.

Hi there

Attached: file.png (1021x576, 940K)

I don't have my computer with me a lot of the time though. Like so many other things sometimes the best gadget is the one you've actually got on you. There are also certain things smartphones are really fucking good for compared to a computer, like financial/security widgets or maps.

In general yeah definitely no substitute for computer for normal people, but even technical types can make good use of one. For normies whom always had trouble with the mediocre foundations normal PCs are built on and never used much power anyway shouldn't be hard to grasp why they use them more.

No bloatware, unlocked bootloader and rootable without breaking warranty, pretty much stock android instead of the shitty One UI, faster because 8GB of ram. Also has a prettier design IMO but that's subjective,

Well there's that thing called outside. Wouldn't say it that best thing ever, but I have to venture there occasionally lest I starve to death.

Also forgot the biggest thing: The price

one UI is actually good though
It has all the features android Q has before android Q came out and the whole empty space at the top of a menu thing is actually a genius idea despite it being "anti-design"

>/pol/tard

Attached: youdisgustme.jpg (625x415, 35K)

this.
Oxygen is not actually pure android either.
Software experiences can be changed to your likeing. Samsung hardware is objectively better.

I never use my phone to do anything my PC can do when I'm at home. But I'm not always at home, so having GPS or being able to look stuff up when I'm out with my friends is very handy. Personally I just don't buy the highest end shit, right now I have Nokia 6.1 and it functions just as well as the new Samsung whatever the fuck, just with a slightly worse camera and screen and 500 dollars cheaper.

>Samsung hardware is objectively better.
It's a fucking phone user unless it dispenses 100$ bills I really doubt performance matters to anyone but mobile gamers so they can get more than 20 fps in mobile pubg.

It replaced the need for a laptop for me.
It is much more portable than one. Still use my desktop when at home.

Hardware wise, Samsung has a better screen and wireless charging, but OP has more RAM, and is also almost half the price. OP7 Pro will match the Galaxy screen too. And software can't be easily changed to your liking on a Galaxy, since it can't be rooted without voiding your warranty.

>tfw one plus 3
This thing is coming to the grave with me. Just installed lineage OS and I will replace the battery if I ever notice it not lasting 2-3 days.

all about the screen pal
you don't need to root in 2019
it's fun to fuck about with pajeetware but at the end of the day you get nothing out of it especially with the current state of android allowing you to do everything you'd want like theme, night mode etc

you can argue about the botnet but at the end of the day you are using a computer the state can hack into at any time, can be located via triangulation the second you go outside and your ISP sure as fuck is logging everything you do along with cookies being ready to rape you at any second so removing Gapps does fuck all at the end of the day

also pajeetware will only speed up your phone if you're using an old phone that's still on android 6 or something, you can't expect rajesh to be able to optimise an s9 at all (nor can you expect samsung to optimise their exyshit cpus but thats a whole different matter)

>duckers
heh

I am not talking about the SoC. They are probably the same. Samsung has the much better panel, better cameras, has a headphone jack, has a sd card slot, has wireless charging, can act as a mother fucking magnetic strip. list goes on. Im still probably buying a OP7 but no need to shill.

rooting is worth it for the adblocking alone. The built in customization options are nowhere even near the things you can do with a rooted phone.

Nice shit autocorrect m9. I can type whatever the fuck I want and my phone won't get in my way because it doesn't have a shitty inaccurate touchscreen keyboard.

>screen
If I can read text on it outside and watch 1080p shit with decent color accuracy why would I want a $500 more expensive phone? A $1000 dollar phone that I can't uninstall bixbie from?

anyone have a Blackberry Passport? I liked the look of that despite being w i d e

>without voiding your warranty
Literally no, one cares. Factory reset it if you need to send it in.

just bought an iPhone XR, and it's my first apple phone

honestly don't see the hate for it. is it just brand loyalists going at it again?

>doesn't have a headphone jack
>no SD card slot
Did they really fuck up the new one that badly? Fuck sakes guess it's my op3 forever.

But it is a feature!

>Paying $750 fucking dollars for a phone that doesn't even have a 1080p display
Apple is jewing you by charging asinine amounts of money for shit specs

>using a cover album made by a gay furry

I really fucking want something like this, or a flip phone
I tried to get a Samsung Galaxy Folder but all I could find were fucking £400-500. I found ones for $130 from China but they were all gold and I'm not a fucking Persian
I fucking hate modern phones, everything is just a fucking rectangle and as time goes on basic fucking features like headphone jacks and replaceable batteries have been removed. The latter so you buy a whole new phone in a year or 2 when the battery shows noticible signs of age instead of just buying a new battery
FUCK PHONES
FUCK PHONE MANUFACTURERS

>just brand loyalists going at it again?
That and the headphone jack and the glued in battery and apple being cunts about everything like getting replacement parts being more expensive than a brand new phone. Nice camera, screen, and retard proof OS though. Would give to grandma/10

there's built in adblocking now via dns or you can install adhell3 on a non rooted phone
I don't know why you're so desperate to argue against the existence of samsung phones but i'll bite
>if this cheap thing works why me buy expensive thing
personal preference retard
welcome to arbitrary consumerism, it "sucks" but so what? I bought my s9 because it's aesthetic, has a great screen, powerful cpu etc
all arbitrary reasons to buy a smartphone but I did it nonetheless
>bixby
I haven't used it once because it sucks but it doesn't make me want to not use my s9 because like any other person with an IQ over 100 I instantly remapped it to do something else (pause/start media) and now I use the bixby button often

>is it just brand loyalists going at it again?
Basically, plus memes.

Also retards like who think that the most powerful CPU and GPU and fastest storage, best support and security and so on = shit specs.

if you want any movable part in your phone you should unironically kill yourself and your family

>>too poor
If I need to listen to music its because I need to listen to music for a very long time. 8h+, usually on a plane. Also have they fixed the constant dropping out if your phone is in your pocket and you're not a manlet?

I saw this post on reddit lol you keep doing this shit

I would rather get an 8+ instead

Literally who cares about the SoC though?> is it just brand loyalists going at it again?
Nah the main problem is that you can't run android on it desu.

I don't know why you're so desperate to spend money you don't need to spend but alright. Feel free to step down from the high horse any time.

>saw this post on reddit
Should go back user

Attached: 1539009179622.png (1853x1053, 1.07M)

>That and the headphone jack
This was a real complaint when they first did it but now that there are tons of decent BT5 adapters and shit on the market it's getting sillier. Reminds me of the rage people had when Apple moved to USB-only and got rid of floppy drives. It was in fact painful at the time but it accelerated a transition that would have happened anyway. By next year I think it'll be pretty mature with all the bits I care about for my Shures anyway.

>glued in battery
This is just a retard thing though. If I want more battery on the go I use a battery case or external, which has more than any phone ever could. Otherwise the battery is fine for 3-4 years and built-in means higher efficiency and better environmental sealing. It can then get replaced at the store. Removable batteries were inferior for 99% of the population and I don't miss it at all.

I do think Apple should make a 4 year warranty standard though, but I don't think anyone will unless it's mandated by law (which it should be).

Well at the time I needed a smartphone so I got the s9 because it suited the criteria and was £500 brand new but yeah thanks for giving me your approval to spend my money on whatever I want (which is mainly used books and designer clothing)
rate my ebay purchases seeing as you're so concerned with what I purchase

Attached: b2868f6b66eda0346eb1ac967c0c2e73.png (677x947, 170K)

Then get a USB DAC and listen to your heart's content.

Why the fuck do people think removing functionality from products is a good thing?
Do you really want to carry around dongles like with the stupid fucking macbook?

I used to work for AT&T customer service. I remember that around the release of the iPhone, the Blackberry was the most popular phone for who knows what goddamn reason, the menus were a nightmare to navigate and not a single person calling for assistance to set it up had the slightest idea of how to use it, that thing was the iPhone before the iPhone, people bought it only to be "in".

Shills aren't people.

Show me a phone without power and volume button.

>high end flagship phone
>no headphone jack, no sd card slot
>cheap midrange/budget phone
>headphone jack and sd card slot
???

>8h+, usually on a plane
I honestly haven't seen any adapters even that have less then 8 hours of time, and many advertise 12h+. Simply playing audio just isn't that battery intensive, at least not unless you're driving something heavy duty (but that takes a heavy duty driver anyway which in turn require more power and thus have more battery to match). I can't think of many that'd be could for plane use either, heavy impedance ones that come to mind tend to be open.

>Also have they fixed the constant dropping out if your phone is in your pocket and you're not a manlet?
Yeah that's getting a lot better with the BT5 ones.

Seriously though the initial gen of BT stuff fucking sucked and the hate was justified. You didn't even mention the awful inferior ancient codec initial BT used, which meant even mildly ok quality was impossible to achieve. The improvements have been rapid though since Apple created a captive high-spending market for it. The perfect MMCX model for me doesn't exist yet that I know of, but the basics of quality/reception are there. I mainly now want one combining all that with at least 3 pairing memory.

I just attached an adapter to my earbuds, since my phone is the only thing i ever plug them into. Obviously removing stuff for no reason is bad, but it allegedly allows them to make the phone slimmer, which is nice

By fuck all, i'd rather they make it fat enough to have a headphone jack and fill the extra space with battery

>this fag actually thinks those are positive features not signs of obsolescence
hoho

Why would I pay a large premium to add batteries to a device that does not at all benefit from being wireless?

How is expandable storage obsolescence?

forbes.com/sites/bensin/2019/02/14/meizu-zero-hands-on-button-less-port-less-phone-ahead-of-its-time/#4ace3d0855b0
*blocks your path*
but I agree, no movable part is a meme when I've had a touchscreen die on me and not being able to replace the battery yourself is even worse in terms on impacting functionality of your phone

he is a shill user. Ignore him.

Just store all your files in the cloud goy! Only $15 a month for 20GB and don't forget file transfers count against your data limit!

slow shitty "expandable storage" adding another place for dust and crap to get in when the phones have 256GB onboard and growing available on the device is dumb.

I honestly don't get you fags at all, in what universe is being tethered to your fucking devices a good thing? Has ever been a good thing? Yeah sometimes that's the only way to get shit done, but if we had magic 1Tbps STL wormhole links available for a penny I'd never use another cable ever again. They don't have any inherent virtue. Being able to just get up from my PC and walk around the room without unplugging or even having to think about it is great. Same with console. Same with phone. I'm happy to just leave my phone wherever and still be able to use it. I'm glad not to have a fucking antenna that picks up GSM signalling and beeps at me at random times. What fucking inherent advantage does 3.5mm have for you people besides nostalgia?

Attached: btcable.jpg (3264x2448, 1.66M)

>designer clothing
Christ son you're 9/10ths of the way to being an apple fanboy. Make sure you spend every dime for the most expensive version of everything, gotta keep the economy moving.

This. You should pay $200 extra for the 1tb models! I am sure that loading your media will be so much better from that super fast SSD! wanna take it out? no fuck you!

Heartily chuckle.

Why would I leave my phone somewhere too? It's always on my person except when I'm at home

keep rocking that fresh white walmart t shirt with cargo shorts and a pair of unbranded chucks with your $100 chinkphone so you can spend your money on.. what exactly? a gaming PC so you can play triple A games that you bitch about for a year when they're announced to have women in them? what are your hobbies?

literally the same as dumb fucks crying about ps2 ports and floppies and cartridges and vga and every single other obsolete shit tech left behind by the industry ever

>What fucking inherent advantage does 3.5mm have for you people besides nostalgia?
cheaper, ubiquitous, can use a devices on board DAC and handle higher bitrates, doesn't die? APTX is cool and I like Bluetooth. It is a cool feature and I am glad bluetooth headphones exist. But I dont really need it and dont want to pay for it with the incoveniences. I use it in my car though.
I workout with a pair of cheap IEMs literally just put the cord under my shirt, never had any problem. I have had my current pair for about a year and have not once had to charge it. Pairing bluetooth shit and turning it on is honestly the same minute inconvenience as plugging something in. If you have some hard one for wireless fine, but dont pretend like people dont have their reasons for wanting a headphone jack.

DVI, HDMI and Display Port are all upgrades over VGA, same with dropping floppies. CD's we're better

>>Just store all your files in the cloud goy! Only $15 a month for 20GB

Hahahaha.

who even cares about phones

>You know those 'unbreakable' phone cases? This is basically a built in one
Or you could just get a good phone and a good unbreakable case.

>such a fag he doesn't use a vpn to his own network/server and have terabytes all the time
I unironically do this. I also have Plex setup. But I only have 4gb of data. And I can never get signal at 37000 feet.

It's literally what I use, the stock Samsung keyboard is dogshit

I have a OnePlus 3T now, would the keytwo be significantly slower? I miss phys keyboards so much, I typed this with swipe and I fucking hated every second of it.

>he doesnt own a galaxy
heh

>Buying from the Apple of Android
heh

>cheaper, ubiquitous
Same could have been said about every single improvement ever. They always start more expensive. That's not an inherent advantage that's just an excuse to never improve technology ever.

>can use a devices on board DAC
Which are usually shit.

>and handle higher bitrates
What? Even FLAC is almost always 1-2 Mbps. And 256 AAC/320 MP3 is ABX transparent anyway. Audio is a solved problem user, the days when there were any technical limits there are long gone.

>APTX is cool
Actually it's shit. Modern BT audio is usually just sending the native AAC or something like LDAC. Or at least AptX HD though why.

>Pairing bluetooth shit
Also not an inherent problem with multi-profile support. Once you can pair 3-4 devices and just swap between them without repairing that covers things pretty well. It's again an implementation thing.

yes, I still use it as an ebook-reader. Really good build-quality and screen, like the keyboard more than my current keyone, only retired it because it doesn't run WhatsApp and playstore anymore

I'm buying a Galaxy S10+ because they have a trade in special going on and I need my phone as a multimedia device and camera these days. I wish I could get a Key2, or that they'd make a Priv 2, but my carrier doesn't retail blackberry and I'm a poorfag

>what are your hobbies?
Bikes, mechanics, building drones and occasionally videogames. Nice projections though, very healthy to have a black and white outlook on reality. Us VS them and all that.

The bit where he said "and I'm a poorfag"

>And I can never get signal at 37000 feet.
Do you only travel with your phone, not a notebook as well? At least unless maybe Starlink ends up going really well yeah phone internet will suck for the foreseeable future, but I can't imagine getting a lot of work/reading done on my phone on a long flight anyway, or even vidya/movies. I always just use my notebook.

Sounds like the same kind of trap car finance gets people into desu

>Bikes, mechanics, building drones and occasionally videogames
Right so all frivolous luxury uses of money. What was your point again?

My grandma was obsessed with one, so we went to US and maanged to get it. She fucking loves it, but finding a case for it is almost impossible these days. No one makes those, what the hell?

And it's a great phone, I was impressed.

But is it the norm to have ads all the damn time on it? Can't unlock my screen without eyeing at least one ad, and, as far as I am aware, gramma didn't install anything phishy on it

she probably installed one of those apps that are like "PUT ADS ON YOUR PHONE AND GET MONEY!!"
my keyone has no ads

>you bad you buy expensive things me no like me good me buy expensive things me like
wow very enlightened perspective
enjoy being ugly I guess

>But is it the norm to have ads all the damn time on it? Can't unlock my screen without eyeing at least one ad, and, as far as I am aware, gramma didn't install anything phishy on it
dude they're not running a charity nor are they running monopoly over priced scam operations like crapple and google they have to keep the lights on somehow. if you dont like it just root it and install your own distro.

>What was your point again?
You're 9/10ths an apple fanboy because you dress like a fag and spend money like it's a badge of honour. I've had the same bike for 10 years, the same servos and braces for 5, consumable parts being the batteries and propellers, the same computer for 4 years which I built to a price optimized spec.

>no headphone jack
lol
>inb4 memepods

>being ugly
>you need fancy clothes with a big ticket price to look attractive
Sorry man, try working out and drinking water instead of soda.

I miss keyboards on my phone, because playing old emulated games was better with physical buttons.

But Samsung has headphone jack

I don't play games so I use an APU in my PC, I walk everywhere so I don't have to take public transport unless I really have to etc so I clearly don't spend money frivolously, something you're equating to my character because I bought a flag ship ONCE for £500, a price you even said was ok for a phone to cost!
indulging in one hobby doesn't make me an apple fanboy i.e a "basedboy" or whatever shitty buzzword you throw out because you can't understand that not being a greasy neckbeard is shockingly, something people aspire to fight against

like I said, enjoy being ugly and being upset on the internet because I spend my money on nice clothes instead of tinkering with

How the fuck is blackberry back

Don't forget the pixel density on modern smartphones makes DMG and CRT filters look like the real thing.

I do lift actually and yeah, well designed clothes do cost more than whatever dog shit you plaster your body in every day
I love how the mention of fashion instantly triggers scum like you because you cannot fathom that people actually leave their house and want to look nice or care about the art form that is fashion because you're a troglodyte fucks who thinks he's better than everyone else yet has never read any classic literature or anything remotely intellectual and sits at home all day shitposting here about fucking normalfags

I just asked because I never saw that happening before in any other smartphone, no matter who the manufacturer was. This is my first experience with a Blackberry

Got the same phone, thing is a fucking blast.
>excellent battery life
>comfy keyboard and display
>that design
The only travesty is that it cant be updated to Android 9

>I miss keyboards on my phone, because playing old emulated games was better with physical buttons.
If you really cared you'd just play those old emulated games with physical buttons on your phone and not shitty keyboard tooth pick buttons either.

Attached: or one of a hundred others.jpg (616x347, 185K)

Not him but keyboards are way more convenient. Controllers take up 2x as much space in my pocket where a keyboard just makes the phone slightly thicker

Is it better than Mimi? Mimi is a piece of shit btw

I wasn't that user, but you're still a faggot. Everything you've spent money on is 100% just as pointless. I mean shit, you're mocking Apple phones when they literally have been the example of the stuff you're talking about in the recent smartphone market, the only ones that actually get supported for 5+ years and continue to last, rather then getting like 6-12 months of updates at best then being dropped. Luxury money is fungible, if some people choose to focus on one hobby vs another hobby that's fine but it's still all the same shit in terms of being hobbies. Given how many hours a day many people use their computers or phones, they can be massively high ROI even at 2x the price.

In my specific case I spent a lot of time looking for a junker of a car in good enough shape to not need much work, and then put the surplus into my computer instead. I use my car maybe 20-30 min a day on average, whereas I use my computer for hours. Measure "value" in absolute measures is literally child-tier, no business or professional does that.

mimi is a huge piece of shit.
get clover dev, user
its not on the play store though.

i dont even think you can root a BB, user

You may as well just carry a switch around at that point. I'm trying to hide my power level a little bit. Carrying around controller attachments is full manchild.

A phone with a keyboard is more subtle.

To normalfags a phone with a keyboard is weird until you fire up SSH or RDPC and they drop their jaw in awe at how you can use the entire screen for a terminal session.

How do you record webm off of your phone?
TLC bought the license to build blackberry branded phones in 2016
>ads
I really don't know, I'm using my keyone for over a year now and never ran into any ads from the standard apps. Check if grandma installed anything fishy.
>case
got a clear silicone one from amazon, thought the original blackberry case wasn't for me
Still true, you cannot

taking out my laptop is really annoying on a flight. especially just to listen to music. Even on a sleeper seat, let alone poverty class. Then you have to put your tray away for any turbalence, take off and landing. I usually just listen to tunes/podcasts on my phone while playing vidya on my 3ds vita or switch.

Swype is far faster than tiny phone keyboards.

>I don't play games
Not him but why are you here?

shitposting obviously

kek. same.

Attached: 1557084972313.png (541x633, 280K)

But user
I outpaced the guy who was using swipe while typing with a keyboard.
And I'm not a super fast typist by far.
What else do you need?

the game is made in java, are you expecting good coding?

>emulating action games on my phone and having them be actually playable via keyboard
Feels good. Only thing I can't get going are fighting games because they require too much precision. But old action platformers or beat-em-ups like Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Warriors work great.

Yeah, it'd weird now but it wasn't in the early 2010's. I'm just a bit nostalgic is all. Pokemon Crystal was a good way to burn a 5-10 minute wait.

Whip out the keyboard phone, and for all anyone knew I was a normal well-adjusted adult writing texts or something.

Kill yourself

>A phone with a keyboard is more subtle.
Not really, and anyone glancing over can still see you're playing a game. And screens are huge so it's easy to see at a glance what game it is. To the extent anyone cares, it'll be about whether it's a normal looking game or not. If you're uptight just don't game in public.

>especially just to listen to music
You don't need terabytes though for even 12 hours of music. Come on.

>Then you have to put your tray away for any turbalence
Never been asked to do this, granted I don't ever fly economy either. If it was really bad I guess it makes sense though, but it's just never been a problem.

>take off and landing
Well sure, but that's pretty short and by that point I'm not doing anything besides reading on my phone or listening to music anyway, and I usually turn stuff off and pay attention at the end just in case.

Gaming on phones is considered "normal" unless it's some nipponese gachashit with bouncing titties.

lmao at all the boomers seething

>How do you record webm off of your phone?
i used airdroid since im already at my computer, but there are plenty of apps for screen recording

good news for you mr user, you can swipe on the physical keyboard, too!

Attached: Screenshot_20190512-231344.png (1080x1620, 195K)

big yikes nigger
btter go back

>sliding up to pick up calls is still the best thing ever
Man this is so good, I wish my Motorola xt300 wasn't completely obsolete, I loved that and the physical keyboard

Attached: 1553224285513.png (1920x800, 751K)

That's why I specified "tiny phone keyboard." A regular keyboard will obviously outpace any input method on a phone.

youtu.be/iT1l8Dcjb1Y

Attached: 1477336008926.jpg (520x705, 101K)

what do you think i used here, user?

I can input about that fast on Swype, even accounting for mistakes. And even if I couldn't, if I need to type out a long message very quickly while I'm not at home, that's why I have a laptop. There's no advantage to having a Blackberry in 2019.

you're retarded user

Fuck I miss my phone having a keyboard.

keyboards and swipe are about the same speed, which is the entire reason i bothered recording the same thing as the other user did. to show that theres not much of a difference.
the only advantage swipe has is if youre only have one free hand.

advantages:
>not blocking your screen with a keyboard
>can play games without on screen controls
>actual tactile feedback so you dont need popups, sounds and vibrations to let you know youre pressing keys

disadvantages:
>apple said that people want thinner phones with bigger screens and smaller bezels, and blackberry phones are thicker with smaller screens and a normal sized bezel

only jews and their slaves (americans) mutilate their cocks

>discord notification
You click that shit, you fucking cunt.

Here's a non-meme disadvantage for you:
>Have to sacrifice vertical resolution on an already small device to fit the keyboard
Which kinda defeats the purpose of not blocking the screen when you're missing a huge chunk of your screen altogether

What about text and objects moving around when the keyboard pops up?

>GIVE ME A BIGGER SCREEN APPLE SAYS BIG SCREEN = GOOD! EVERYONE COPY APPLE
yawn.
if i cant reach the entirety of my phones screen with my thumb without having to slide my palm miles up the side, i'd want a smaller phone.

That's only when it pops up. Any other time you have a full sized screen. I do agree with you that keyboard typing is better than swipeshit but most people aren't willing to sacrifice the screenspace for it. BB just needs to make a priv 2 already.

>muh apple boogeyman
Have fun with you sub-1080 resolution.

I agree that a keyboard out in the open at all times is definitely a hinderance. That's why the Fxtec Pro1 is as close to perfection as it gets.
>full 2:1 "ultrawide" screen for videos and web browsing
>slide out keyboard that's there when you need it and out of sight when you don't

You're missing the point that you could not only swype on the blackberry like on any other phone but also be using gesture inputs for even faster input or edits - you can even have an entirely custom second keyboard up for maximum funposting ツ
True, when you use your phone mainly to watch videos in landscape mode the space is wasted. While browsing it's a non-issue since you can use the kb to scroll/ zoom.

Attached: Screenshot_20190512-233242.png (1080x1620, 196K)

I hate how the future is trending towards fucking touchscreens on everything. Cars and appliances have this bullshit. Most laptops have it though I never asked for this feature, nor do I use it. And fuck these devs going mobile and insisting that touch controls are acceptable and that they will ever be comparable to a gamepad or keyboard.

I just want physical buttons to remain.

I never use the swipe feature and press each "button" individually, though I'm guilty of using the suggested words.

This webm gave me aids.

They never left

Attached: nokia.jpg (3543x4177, 689K)

Touchscreen on cars is criminal, although steering wheel controls make up for the lack of volume and tuning knobs and preset buttons.

you took a picture off reddit and pretended it was yourself, doesnt get much sadder

Things like standalone cameras still exist.
Don't tell me you don't have a DSLR camera, what are you, some kind of fag.

Blackberry isn't out of business retard

These days you're always on the move from one location to another. If you don't own a smartphone you're probably unemployed since you can't do proper work without one.

>You don't need terabytes though for even 12 hours of music. Come on.
I need like 40 days worth of music. What am I supposed to perfectly tailor a playlist for every flight and then put it on my phone and delete it the next day? I just dump it all on there. And Even if you give me a 512gbphone, I have to pay like $200 more than the 256gb version, when I already have a 256gb MicroSD I could just carry over.

The only thing that should follow that paradigm - only the bezel part - is PC monitors. It's annoyingly difficult trying to find a set of 3 monitors with the smallest bezels possible AND the specific specs I want without breaking the bank.

Just use spotify what the fuck dude.

Don't call me a seppo or Yid you fucking cunt

>$649

small bezels are fine on monitors.
but I dont want the palm of my hand activating my screen when i hold my phone.
thats the entire point of the bezel, dont make it smaller you fucks.

That's cheap as chips mate

Considering how much phones cost these days $649 is average.

I plug an external keyboard into my phone. The only downside is I can't use it when my phone's charging.

You can't use a VPN, have a firewall, and use host-based adblocking at the same time without root.
This also happens to be something I use literally any time I use my phone.
Also, longer device life with the ability to install third-party ROMs, Samsung has burned me with >lol2years before.

aren't those even more expensive than regular iphones twice that?

Not that user but
>just listen to a radio station with ads that doesn't play exactly what you want in the exact order you want, and annoys you with "recommendations" of songs that inevitably start leading to top 40 garbage.
Fuck off. Most of the bands I listen to aren't even on Spotify. I'm actually enough of a boomer that I actually buy physical CDs, rip the WAV files, and manipulate the files as I please. If I can't buy a physical album, if it's available but priced unreasonably, I try to find WAV/FLACs of albums on digital storefronts. If there's no way to buy it, I hunt the internet for the highest quality bootlegs I can find. Not settling for the shit 132kbps MP3 tin can sound on an app that doesn't let you listen to your music without an internet connection.

Swipe in itself is something out of this world for me, but swiping using a physical keyboard??? HOW?!

>just pay for a subscription service so that you can do the same thing you are doing now but with DRM attached to your library
Uhh, I will pass.

ZZZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM

>recommendations
I listen to modern hip-hop a lot, and Spotify decided that all I like is absolute garbage like this: youtube.com/watch?v=mRpmc-2mvIQ

Keep up the good fight, user
Don't settle for the streaming meme, I'm already a lost cause

All my obscure weebshit isn't on spotify and never will be so I'll just keep importing those CDs to rip FLACs.

Then just don't use the recommendations, I literally never do

Get a priv user

you literally pick it out of your pocket and slide it open without looking to answer the phone

Wish you could hang up on fuckers by closing it, it would be so fucking satisfying

If you want a phone you can beat people with while making calls, just get a Caterpillar one

The market decided that we need retarded notches or hole punches instead of more than small enough bezels like the S9 had.
Also shitty batteries to make phones as thin as possible.
Fucking kill yourself.

But my dude the chinese have invented a solution to that
It's called a "top bezel" its very revolutionary

The Spotify app requires you to have a subscription or else it goes into Pandora radio mode and you're stuck with whatever recommended shit it wants to give you.

I've got one too, it's generally pretty good for gaymen but with one major flaw: the keyboard's weird-ass rollover.
You can only press two keys at a time per row, and only three at any time total. Makes playing anything more complex than Gameboy games a pain.

god i want a phone with an actual fucking keyboard again so badly these days, especially one of the slide-out ones like posted. do you anons have any particular suggestions/pointers for any i should look into or where? it seems like all the ones i look into have either been discontinued or are aimed at rich businessmen and priced out the ass

Attached: vaio.jpg (1366x768, 309K)

Read the thread some one literally posted one

I still have a slide out keyboard phone, it's awesome. It also doesn't have gps and it has a removable battery so it's harder for the spooks to spy on me.

See

Yeah, and it's well worth the $5/10 per month for it and hulu together. The convenience of not having to torrent or even buy all your music is great

I thought spotify free let you listen to specific albums, just on shuffle

Yeah but I like to own my albums. That's the price I pay for freedom.

If you're important enough to be spied on you're spied on. Your gay ass measures against it are worthless. Such a crazy egotistical maniac
>i need to protect myself from spies
Kys, nobody cares about you.

Winner! By half a second.

Own as in your purchase all your music, or own as in having the files?

Have them on their original CDs.

lmaooooooooooooo calm down gramps before you get an aneurysm

Imagine not drilling a hole in your phone

Don't buy apple Samsung or anything that likes to call itself a premium device

If you want some different designs you are gonna have to look for it by yourself or follow people on social media that report on that
Foldable screen phones might change the status quo for a bit but I doubt they will catch on with the normies since it has a ton of drawbacks

Your fingers must look like this if you can type that fast on keys that small

Attached: 990495_orig.jpg (363x500, 25K)

Ok, boomer. I used to be the same way desu, but I found that streaming makes it way less daunting to listen to something different, and I've been listening to a lot of new music and broadening my horizons as a result

youtu.be/L62a0FchGV8

Why has no one else made a double swype keyboard? Keymonk Free hasn't been updated in like 5 years at this point, and it was awesome.

Not him, but after a while you get pretty fast on a BlackBerry keyboard
The only one I never was able to git gud was the passport, mostly because of its horrible keyboard layout.

I had one of these, it was totally awesome. Unfortunately all the reviews were right and I dropped it and that fragile two way hinge exploded.

>can't even put a question mark
really makes you think

Attached: file.png (72x59, 3K)

Maybe they changed it. Last I used it it worked the same way Pandora does.

*blocks your path*

Nothing wrong with that. Personally I use both because Spotify is just much more convenient for me.

Use a bluetooth keyboard, unless whatever OS that thing has doesn't support them.

That's more a palmtop than a phone. I guess if those are your thing there's nothing wrong with that. I just prefer a device that can be used more like a traditional smartphone.

That's the Key2. They still make it; it's the most advanced Android phone with a keyboard. Unfortunately it's still AT&T only so Priv plebs like myself have to wait and cope.

>AT&T only
It's unlocked for use on any GSM carrier. I'm using it on T-Mobile and everything works perfectly fine including VoLTE and RCS.

The upcoming Cosmo will have more phone features, e.g. outter 2" screen and a button to manage calls. Even without that, it's still just a normal smartphone, except with an attached keyboard.

shit, the fxtec pro1 really does look neat, i'll try to keep an eye on it, thanks anons

Attached: 1530461942111.jpg (847x567, 83K)

I saw the redesign. It still requires me to have it open for everything but phonecalls so it's not very usable. Give it a 5"+ screen on the outside and it'll be good.

I got a key2 le, it is solid. If you have a keyOne then I imagine that a key2 is a big upgrade, but maybe wait and see if we get a key3, might have more advantages

I did not realize this. I guess it's time to upgrade.

Wait for the Pro1. Blackberry is subpar when it comes to actual sliders. Last year there was no choice but you should really stop and think whether the blackberry design is for you.

Retards like you never remember typing T9 in your pocket in places that prohibited phones
started doing it in high school, continued into SIPR-Safe areas when I did my short stint in the Navy

Anyone tried using dosbox with keyone/key2? How is it?

I unironically use a 15 dollar brick from blackberry from the early 2000s as my phone and use a laptop to do internet shit. People look at me strange but I’m way happier with what I have and it maybe breaks once every two years. Compare that to the retards who buy the thinnest phone imaginable and then have to spend 100 dollars on a case that makes it larger just so they don’t have to re up on the phone that costs more than a car. Society has failed.

>T9
Pointless
I just used normal 12-key phone input. It wasn't even that bad; probably comparable to half or so of my WPM on smartphone touch keyboards but with less errors.

there are many phones these days that are tough as fuck, user, and most don't look that retarded

I know that feeling, check for online jp music sellers. There is a site, ototoy, which let's foreigners create accounts and they also sell DSD format if you are into that.

> priv plebs
Honestly besides the battery life I would rather keep the priv
The screen is better and the slide layout is much better to do phone things on it since bbos is dead and everything is android now

I fucking hate touchcreens. I'd give anything for a slide out keyboard.

What carrier? I looked into reactivating my blackberry bold and Verizon fucked me, said they won't activate 3g phones anymore. What's the deal with your model?

TCL virgins*

I still use this phone because it's so damn good and when I was offered a new unlocked S9 phone with my carrier when my contract was up I signed on to a new contract and sold the S9 to a friend who needed a new phone with a discount. I'll probably replace this Priv in 2020 though unless a better similar phone is out this year.

Attached: 1528174521369.jpg (1280x720, 67K)

Get a priv or wait for the pro1

over priced, designed and made by a shitty chink company called TCL that licensed the blackberry brand. its mediocre but the keyboard is an interesting feature but sort of redundent and not as glorious as previous BB phones. it has android tho? really overpriced for the specs tho.

>Sliders in 2k19
Senpai

It's surprisingly usable, but it won't take up all the screen because DOS runs in 4:3 while the phone screen is taller than it is wide. Even an onscreen keyboard won't make a difference since it wouldn't have blocked anything.

> priv was the last RIM design
> KEYone and keytwo look nothing like the old candybar BlackBerry
> keytwo is super expensive even when it uses middle road specs
> no BlackBerry Classic 2 that looks like the Bold line
> no priv 2 with flagship specs

I don't want to trade in my priv for a new chink phone when this thing gets way too old to work

I love my Key2. The only thing I dislike is Android. Fucking keyboard and pointer support used to be good in early Android. How did it get worse when more and more people are trying to make phones that dock into desktops.

The G1/Dream had a trackball. The Priv, Key 1 and Key 2 both have a trackpad built in that they use for scrolling but don't allow you to use it as a pointer because applications don't expect it I guess so it's disabled.

only works with stv100-1 iirc
