At this moment, without artifacts, i prefer ror1 multiplayer to ror2. And becouse of artifacts ror1 is more fun.
Just play more, i try not to spend more than 5 minutes per stage on first loop. Also it is rng dependant. One run you will get 3 reds on first stage, next you will get nothing.

How? You can't get every item that way, and with few items, the early bosses can be hell.

The green items are objectively not worth the extra slog.

You don't need to grab every single item. First stage boss can easily be killed without any items, so that sounds like a git-gud issue desu

If u spend more you will fall behind scaling. Try playing mul-t, he has nice dps, high mobility and high hp untill you grasp basics of the game, when to spend more time, when to rush tp, what items to take, activate mountain shrines or not.
Still, it is rng dependant. Beetle queen is piss easy, vagrant can be hell without cover and so is titan (but you can get under him before he starts to lazor your ass and run around his legs, it wont damage you this way) becouse tp spawned in open field, so take everything in consideration, use terrain, dont stand in one spot and always move.

My friend bought me a copy of ROR2. Had ROR but never got all that into it. Anyway after 120 hours or so of ROR2 I went back to ROR1. I can't get past the first stage on Rainstorm.. The game is just not as straightforward and there's a ton of shit I need to unlock. What do? Should I just play Drizzle?

I felt like that too but it's not too bad once you get used to everything. A few weeks ago I could barely deal with one stone golem now I can dance between groups of them without taking a hit. Keep playing user

Rush teleporter and pick up items while the event is going. You could get the command artifact if you're struggling really bad, it makes the game really easy and still allows unlocking stuff.
