No male bunny girls

SHALLOW GAME PLAYS ITSELF

Penelo's massive ass. It's out of control.

what the hell is going on with the eyes on the girl in the left-hand background

I stopped playing once I realized that "the best combat system in a final fantasy game" was literally programming an algorithm for your npcs to follow.
I stopped playing like 6 hours in, which is half the time it took me to drop FF15

Spirits Within leading to the merger leading to the suits becoming retarded with mandates leading to Matsuno shitting the bed and quitting.

Vann and Penelo were worthless to the plot
Most of the plot happens away from the party because they were more like pawns in a game of chess between Vayne and the Spooky Ghost things
Gambit system makes the game play by itself (at least it's better than the shit XV came up with)

Vaan and Penelo.

That's a cute viera

Main character was literally created as an afterthought after studio execs decided they wanted a young shonen protagonist instead of Balthier

The plot isn't very good and the cast isn't interesting enough to make up for it.

Only being able to be Vaan in the towns is a huge turn off. Otherwise it's fantastic.
Thinking of starting a new TZA playthrough today. Anybody got fun job combos for characters? Or should I go for a one character only playthrough?

Not true. Vaan was always intended to be in the game, but his role was smaller and his design was different. But you're right the execs wanted him to be the "main" character.

>Otherwise it's fantastic
Minus the gameplay, story, music and setting

Combat was horribly slow in the original release and being designed to play itself was a major turnoff for a lot of people. Vaan is the least interesting cast member and you're stuck being him. It felt like the end of the story was rushed, and I remember thinking it seemed abrupt that super saiyan Vayne was the last boss.

Gameplay was good and the gambit system was awesome. fuck you

>Gameplay was good
>XII
lol

I can't do anything about your taste being the way it is, but pls don't try to start shit.

>the setting
That's the one ting you can't criticize that game for. Ivalice is a great setting.

Its basically just a shittier version of FF with multiplayer thrown on and an mmo paintjob.

The quests are boring, but required. The combat is meh at best, the classes are passable.
The best thing about it is the FF is relatively unique as far as fantasy games go and it has pretty good graphics. But that's the only thing it really has going for it.

PVE falls behind other MMOS, the combat is worse than pretty much all modern MMOs, the PVP is dogshit, the quests are crap, the travel mechanics are bad.
The only thing people say in its defense is just that
>w-well you have to trodge through 5 months of shit so you can get to the end game
then you get to the end game and its still shit.

>horribly slow

?

>plot
>half the characters suck
>bland art style and environments
>Gambit system: "Hey guys, lets make a combat system where the player does even less than the other FFs" You're literally leveling up so you can play less of the game
>Dungeons are boring and too long

>Not true. Vaan was always intended to be in the game,

then why does he feel so left out of mot of the cutscenes. Like the scene where Baltheir reveals that he was a Judge and Cid is his dad.

Van and Penelo are off in the corner.

>XII
>Multiplayer
???
As much as I want an Ivalice MMO, I wouldn't be so delusional and think FFXII have multiplayer feature.

There's a reason the zodiac job system version and the remaster included fast forward.

>>then why does he feel so left out of mot of the cutscenes

I literally explained in the second half of the sentence. He was always meant to be a supporting character that tags along. It was only later that the suits wanted him to be the "face" of XII. Originally main character duties were shared between Ashe and Basch, but Basch's role got cut down when Vaan got the bump. Penelo though was never meant to be a permanent member though, which is why she seems even more vestigial than Vaan.

Story was originally about Basche and Ashe.

They fire the producer like 3 years in cause he's taking too long so they can then make games like ff15 which take 8 years

Game is unfinished and they shovel Vaan as mc to everyones disgust, plot is only 70% done and makes fuck all sense.

nothing

it was unironically the last good final fantasy game
