Most of you faggots here never played vanilla WoW

Most of you faggots here never played vanilla WoW.
So I ask, why are you hyped for this? Is it because no matter how shit it will be it will be better than BfA?

I played Nostalrius in 2015 and it was fun. I'd like to do that without losing my character again and with less than 150 ping.

I played vanilla WoW when it came out and it was boring as fuck... in fact it wasn't until WotLK that it gained popularity

Exactly because I never got to really experience it for real.
I started playing on the ass end/tbc pre-patch.
Not quite 'going home' for me, but I'm sure I'll still enjoy it.

Played vanilla. After playing Ascension I cant play any other version of WoW. Classic wont be even close.

I guess the consensus here is that most of us (if not played vanilla wow), started during tbc/wlc (including me), and for that very reason anything close to that expereince is fun.

Therefore, Vanilla is about as close as were gonna get to the expereince we had all those years ago, and thats why everyone is hyped.

I played vanilla, after obtaining grand marshall, I was known throughout the server, I felt accomplished.

I want to see what Alliance was like this time around

Attached: babies2.jpg (512x384, 49K)

its makes more sense for a person who never played it to be

It was full of magic and unique people

Attached: babies1.jpg (512x384, 51K)

I just wanna play WoW without the chinese, BFA sucks too much, and Nost was some of the most fun I've ever had with WoW

I never played it, but my father did and I want to honor his memory by playing it.
He's been very forgetful lately so he mostly sticks with xbox games

I played retail vanilla but i'm older than most here. Also played the shit out of UO and SWG, but skipped EQ for whatever reason.
I'm hyped because i have a bunch of old friends coming back for it, it's like an online reunion. I generally prefer more sandbox oriented mmorpg games but vanilla WoW was as good as a themepark has been in my gay opinion. And it may sound corny but it felt and still feels like a fun world to kill dragons with friends, fight enemy players all over the world, and even meet new friends along the way.

I played vanilla WoW. Nightelf Druid, She is still my main whenever I return. Same server since 2006. No one from "the old ones" is playing anymore, a lot of them transferred when our server had issues and Blizz offered free servertrans.

I had the most fun in Burning Crusade to be honest.

can't answer this due to not being a retard who has been unable to move on 15 years later

>can't answer this due to not being a retard who has been unable to move on 15 years later
I only wasted my entire high school and early college years on it.

I played a rogue in vanilla but I want to play something more team oriented this time. i'd like to be useful to raids and also in battlegrounds. can't decide between priest or shaman, wat do?

>Is it because no matter how shit it will be it will be better than BfA?
that's pretty much it for me. i never played it, but BFA is just awful. if i don't like classic then i'll just wait until like a month before the next expansion's release, catch up on the rest of the BFA content i missed, and then play the new expansion.

I hope they at least update graphics to make it look like a 2019 game

I played vanilla, shit was good.

This time I won't be a 15-16 year old retard, and will make it further than twin emps.

Why are Alliance a PvE faction and Horde are PvP? How did this happen?

the msn messenger icon hit me right in the nostalgia

all the busty stay-at-home MILFs play alliance.

What about the big tit goths, do they play forsaken?

For me, it's the nostalgia of the game. It saddened me for the longest time that I couldn't play the same game I played over a decade ago the same way, even before heirlooms and shit that made soloing / group play to level a cakewalk.

What’s the race/class distribution gonna be like? Will everyone be humans and orcs? Hunters and warriors everywhere?

Human, orcs, and night elves will be two thirds of the players.

Lots of humans and undeads, as for classes lots of warriors and mages, few druids and few alliance warlocks.

Everyone's a warrior with a money making hunter alt( That they actually leveled first :^) )

I've never played WoW before, period.
I am not "hyped" for it, I just want to play it and see it for myself.
I'm gonna roll a Tauren, I'm gonna put totems down and probably quit as soon as I hit 60, I am glad that people who enjoyed the game, or want to enjoy the game in its vanilla state, now have the opportunity to do so in an official manner. AKA not private server bullshit.

>delayed until 2020
Retailchads fucking won

I remember trying it once in 2009 or 2010 and dropping it after 15mins. Does that count?

>Tauren Shaman
Ah, good taste. At first sight people think they are a meme race but they have good lore.

ehhh.... debatable.

I think I'm starting to love Mage guys

It is mostly because of the stun thing they have.
I read about it and apparently Shamans have no hard crowd-control skills/spells so having a stun here and there might be handy.
I also think they look badass, but I also like how Orcs look so it was a tough choice for me.

There's enough boomers on Yea Forums to make up the majority of people discussing classic on here. They probably see these threads as home in terms of this board, not just the game. These threads honestly feel a lot like old Yea Forums, and not this zoomer infested shithole it's become. I played classic and i can't wait for it. Also this thread is full of either autistic contrarians or kids lying about playing it and not liking it. WoW was amazing from launch up until around the later parts of WoTLK.

Attached: 1535734350365.gif (1133x845, 2.7M)

the horde playerbase will be over 50% forsaken

Draenei when
Monks when

>Shamans have no hard crowd-control skills
True but you have amazing slow/snare abilities and the best ranged spell interrupt (Earth Shock).

In vanilla wow the level cap is 60.
Game content progression (even non muh hardcore raiding content) doesn't end at 60.
Then again you will probably stop playing in your 20s when the game opens up and leveling pace starts slowing down.

My uncles son looks exactly like the zoomer meme, haircut, glasses and all. Lel

Female human shadow priest called Raven.

this
their racial is the best in the game for pvp.

>Then again you will probably stop playing in your 20s when the game opens up and leveling pace starts slowing down
I played FFXI back in the RoZ days. Maxed out 8 jobs, I know what slow grinding is, so it "slowing down" isn't a problem for me.

Deep inside me I wish I could roll an Orc and get the stun too (in exchange of their stun resistance), I like their animations a lot more.

You retards are chasing a pipedream long forgotten.

The community from vanilla is long gone. The mystery of game mechanics is gone. People will be optimizing builds and blowing through content super fast. Community developed around shitty systems. There will be group finders and queues, ruining the chst channels which drove all trade, group finding and server community.

The only thing that will remain is how toxic both the old boomers and modern boomers are.

You are all in for a rude awakening.

>So I ask, why are you hyped for this?
I'm going to see how nuBlizz fucks it up.
I bet 50 on "the server infrastructure is shitehose and the pop limits on servers are awfully low so it takes 30 minutes to an hour to form a fucking UBRS group even if you're a tank with the key"
I bet 100 on "What you get banned for is vague, unpredictable, never clarified, and players cannot reasonably avoid bans except by avoiding interacting with other players at all, so players are afraid to play the game"

Now, I admit there's a small but realistic chance nuBlizz doesn't fuck it up at all, and so my hype will just deflate and turn into a let down.
But I'm optimistic and hopeful that buBlizz finds some way to make a dumpster fire out of this. I have faith that the game will be a car wreck somehow.
That's what I'm hype for.
We're watching home burn down bros :)

nice blog retard

Attached: soy.png (1159x665, 227K)

Everyone can get an instant ranged stun.

Attached: jDzIFfL[1].jpg (382x169, 20K)

Same with my nephew. He's a nice kid but all he plays is fortnight and literally no other vidya so i find him kind of boring and a little retarded.

>I bet 100 on "What you get banned for is vague, unpredictable, never clarified, and players cannot reasonably avoid bans except by avoiding interacting with other players at all, so players are afraid to play the game"
When has this ever happened, honestly?
Why would it suddenly start happening now? People are absolute fags to each other in bfa and mysteriously they do not get banned for it.
You get banned for spamming nigger or outright cheating/hacking, that's about it.
There are a lot of reasons to bark about actiblizz and their shitty decisions but that isn't one of them. It doesn't even make financial sense in the first place.

I'm hyped because [streamer] is hyped for it, I can't wait bros

I swimmed past the area where this item drops on pserver) when i was exploring and an angry neckbeard began whispering me threatening me with torture and corpse camping, i didn't understand at first but i realized i had entered his "territory", so to speak because he was camping for that item. I wonder if it will be like this on live servers.

Pic related, my face.

Attached: cheeky_pepe.png (473x500, 8K)

you're never forced to play the metagame and on the private servers i've played on people have stayed away from it except from the cliques of people tryharding in a 15 year old game who usually get laughed at
or the speedrunners but they're usually alright people who you can chill and have a conversation with

I played Classic when I was about 10-11. I loved it to death, but didn't really know how to play. Still, I managed to get the Whirlwind Axe and I got carried through Scarlet Monastery. I got to around the level fifties when BC came out. I'm interested in seeing the "rest" of the game that I missed out on.

Well, this is making me reconsider things.

>40% drop rate
>36 - 42 hour spawn timer
People will camp that shit for literally days.

Attached: 1513144685341.gif (300x300, 2.13M)

>When has this ever happened, honestly?
Overwatch.
>You get banned for spamming nigger or outright cheating/hacking
No, that's predictable and avoidable so it doesn't count. I'm talking about shit like saying "? lol" at an inopportune moment, or killing the flight master at Shadowprey Village on your way down to pick up Feathermoon flight point since you never got it while levelling.
> It doesn't even make financial sense in the first place.
It doesn't have to. Corporations aren't just about money, they're also about the personal ideals of the owners and about exerting power over others.

I met like 80% of my online friends through vanilla wow. I look forward to making more friends and having good times.

DKP is the best loot division system, convince me otherwise

imagine the smell

How does it work?

See you there fren

Loot council is best system for hardcore guilds.
EPGP is best for the rest

>Compaq_Administrator
Oof, how bad was the toaster

>Jewish souce office only
And people ask me why I don't use Discord.
Does Discord have Jewish souce office channels?

Blizz has even in modern WoW kept a "pvp solution for pvp problems" stance. You are not going to get banned for killing a flight master.
If you camped it relentlessly and no one came to stop you after hours, you would get a whisper asking you to knock it off, may even get a brief suspension at worst.
They are different games, you can't compare moba/esports shit to how they sanction players in mmorpgs. I mean you can, but it would be something a retard who wants to whine about SJWs and captain marvel or whatever would do.
Overwatch is not WoW. Use comparisons in bfa if you want to make a point.
If you honestly think you're going to be literally banned for saying "lol" to someone in the game, you have far more serious issues than vidya, user.

They're hyped exactly because they didn't play. What people really want is servers without LFG features

Bet ya it happens to someone anyway.
And Captain Marvel WAS a shit movie. Even Rotten Tomatoes' vote rigging couldn't stop that movie from having a garbage story with an unlikeable main character.

they want to see us fail, do not let them split the brotherhood apart

Attached: the brotherhood.png (1046x743, 943K)

Which class is the most based anons?

Attached: based class.png (400x366, 136K)

Your brotherhood includes Arms warriors, Paladin tanks, Balance druids, and people who don't take the game seriously because they "only play for fun" (and apparently it's not fun to take things seriously).
Fuck your brotherhood.

based old school games. modern game design can eat a fat dick

Most based:
Rogue
Rogues don't give a f u c k what you think about them
Least based:
Priest
Priests will tantrum if you say a mean word about them

Ahem, my first class was warlock. So thats what ill be playing.

>rogues being most based when all they do is roll on almost everything, bring 0 utility, and play like the biggest bitches in world pvp

gonna be a hard no for me dawg

Master looter is with a good, honest raise lead

>If you honestly think you're going to be literally banned for saying "lol" to someone in the game, you have far more serious issues than vidya, user.
You're behind the times man. The current playerbase of Blizzard games gets triggerd by virtually anything that is said, emoted or done by their competing player / opponent.
People are advocating complete isolation and the inability to comminucate in any form from other players because they feel threatened or oppressed.

Attached: nSk9kVx[1].jpg (776x436, 116K)

i think people really underestimate people who will just play what they want
theres gonna be more tauren hunters than you think

Do you think "Based" is a synonym for "thing I like" or "good thing"?
Because if you do, you're wrong.

>based
warlocks, shamans, paladins
>no alignment on the based axis
hunters, rogues, mages
>not based
warriors, priests, druids

*opens your lockbox*
Pfft nothin personnel but that'll be 1g + tip, kid

>your ability to play for long sessions is improved
Huh? I find interacting with other players via text to increase the enjoyment I get out of games and thereby I am able to play for longer before my exhaustion overtakes my enjoyment.

i'll be busy playing neverwinter :^)

>basically a new/old/alternative game(mode) comes out
>"why do you people like it when you get variety?!"

squelchng in hearthstone is akin to an ignore list; standard fare since forever ago and really nothing to complain over

>that private server where you had to trade away your lockbox to a rogue

Attached: 93d49064c0397a5d682ce36ae605b0da.jpg (510x411, 23K)

We're talking about WoW, not memewatch or hearthstone. You may need to consider distancing yourself from the echo-chamber effect you're experiencing, user.

>druid in top tier and war and rogue in 3rd tier

i dunno if you were trying a weak bait or not, but 1/10 for the effort

this is part and parcel of dealing with rogues.

Once I traded a lockbox to a rogue to open for 1g
I got back a lockbox with bullshit in it.
He said to his guild "Lol I just got [Blue item] from a lockbox"
I typed back into guild chat "We're in the same guild genius"

youtube.com/watch?v=1MbFYHCK1lM

Any class that gives buffs = based.

Who else is ready to rp in classic

Do you not know what "Based" means, you fucking retard?
It doesn't mean "Thing I like" or "Thing which is good".

I find it funny a lot of people think players will be getting past content quickly. I think a lot of the people saying this haven't played EQ or vanilla and have never truly experienced organizing large raid groups. Even setting up a UBRS run before the 15 man cap could take an hour long and everyone on twitch complains about long lobbies (read >5 minutes) for their BRs.

Do you remember having to get a solid LBRS group to actually get keyed for UBRS? I tanked them often because I wanted more keys for UBRS in my server and they were often unsuccessful due to people's schedules and running out of time.

rogues are back stabbin' sonuvagun so they are definitely not based to normal folk

I'm convinced by now that it's nothing more than just another excuse to spam more wojaks.

Do they drive trucks through crowds?

wojaks are honestly more entertaining than censor threads, smash threads, etc.

Rogues aren't fucking based at all cause the entire premise of playing a rogue is "i want to be the best dps, and i want to be able to avoid world pvp interactions, and i also want to only do world pvp when i have all my cooldowns up and its convenient for me"

I guess its based if your personality is being a little bitch and being proud of it, but otherwise it isnt based at all

good to see naturechads where they belong

Fuck off, you fucks didn't even exist back when vanilla WoW actually existed.

>make bfa purposely shit to tunnel people into playing classic
>classicfags think it was their "choice" to like classic more than bfa
stop falling for the marketing jew user

Why do people even bother with blatant lies like this?

a bloo bloo

Being proud of your personality despite what people think of you is based, yes.

Kek, I played it and didn't appreciate it, got to level 34 and stopping in shimmering flat. calm down buddy

Eh, alright whatever man
*picks your pockets*

What blatant lies? LBRS has plenty of kite paths where you can jump up or down a ledge to get time to heal yourself.
I didn't do the head on a pike guy (uruk?). I tried and was thoroughly pounded into the dust.
But Omokk has a healing ledge, Voone has that same healing ledge, stealth past the big packs, spiders are piss easy since you can CC them, spiders have a ledge near them once they're clear, and Wyrm has a ledge in his room.

These videos are neat but I can't watch them because he's spoiling all the fun secrets.

(Soonâ„¢)â„¢

Don't you bring your gay shit in here. You have Final Fantasy 14 for that.

I started playing at the tail's end of Burning Crusade. I'm interested in vanilla for it's simplicity because I haven't played WoW seriously since Wrath of the Lich King.

Omokk comes with two ranged adds which also heal.
Voone comes with a ranged stun.
I don't know what garbage scripted pserver you played on, but it definitely wasn't vanilla.

is spirit good for non-priests?

>Omokk comes with two ranged adds which also heal.
Splittable off of him by pulling something near them.
>Voone comes with a ranged stun.
Which isn't up 100% of the time. But yes if you're still in caster form when he comes around the corner you DO get rekt.

And it was fucking vanilla.

spirit is good for every class for leveling. It's the best stat except armor for plate wearers, and maybe shaman.
It's completely worthless in PVP and group PVE though.

Im bit hopeful for vanilla, but my biggest fear is all the tryhard fucks who have never played the game but go for the most "meta" races/classes and try to lecture me how the game SHOULD BE played etc etc.
Really hope those people are gonna be minority and only post in here how "everyone is fucking shit but them"

boi..... spirit is good on druids, mages and priests.

rogue class fantasy is rapist

It's the best stat for every class, with the exception of plate wearers where armor is the best stat post 40. It's the 2nd best stat for plate wearers. It also might be second best stat for shaman, not sure if armor > spirit for shaman.

what are you even talking about mongoloid

yea how else are you gonna enjoy a climactic innervates

They will be in the minority. Most people who are into classic are pretty chill in my experience. Play the race class combo you like because people are generally more interested in what you like than how well you can minmax. I'm just in this to reconnect with old friends, make some new ones and pwn horde n00bs.

If you asked when classic was coming, I'm making a reference to Blizzard's schedule slip in the form of a meme.
If you're referencing your """"healer""""" shit then you can fuck right off to /vg/.

I had never played WoW before in my entire life, but the hype for classic made me curious to try out a vanilla private server. After playing for a few days I was completely hooked. The game just makes player interaction and adventuring such a natural and fun experience that I have never felt before In any MMO. Going through the deadmines with strangers, and then coming out as a group of friends who shared in some fun and banter for a while. Getting invited to random guilds where you could literally spend hours in guild chat just having fun. I ran Scarlet Monastery for the first time and it was just amazing. I'm level 41 now and don't have enough money for a mount because Im a fucking noob, but Im loving playing a Warrior and am going to be so happy when Classic launches.

>Innervates you
>tosses a rejuv
>battle resses you
>give you mark of the stats
Truely druids are bros

15 minute cool down over fucking warstomp? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw

>tbc/wlc (including me)
There is no way you played WoTLK thinking it was called "wlc"

why would you even lie about this

And I just want you faggots to stop making hourly threads about a game you can't even fucking play yet. Shut the fuck up already.

Same people who call deadmines VC or Vancleef instead of DM, BUNCH OF LIARS!

why not both?

No.

dm is deadmines, DM is Dire Maul

Fuck you, guy

Professional streamers should be ganked and camped

Now, what will wreck you on Voone is his windfury. That shit is painful.
If you opt to try to drop off the ledge and heal as he mortal strikes you, that's painful too.
But Voone isn't the hardest part of the run. Halycon is.
>Optional
Fuck you, I did her anyway. Halycon hits like a goddamn truck and you can't outrun her with dash. Gizrul you can outrun. Hell, you can outrun Voone too though if you try to run past him he has a very good chance of dunking you with stun+thrash.
Wyrm was really fucking tough because he summons adds, but thankfully there's terrain in his room where you can get him to evade bug while one of his adds swings at you so you can kill the adds without his aggro.

Dire Maul East and MOST of West are soloable too, but Immol'thar kicked my ass. I tried North and Kromcrush pounded my ass into the dirt.
Really, if you know your terrain in the game, there are plenty of opportunities to get some heals off, and if you're able to get uninterrupted healtime as a feral you can do some pretty batshit stuff.

Its called shortening, whats the use of typing WoTLK, when wlc is faster.

Heck even LC is used, or just wrath. All common.

beta is announced the 14th, invites are starting as early as that morning.
beta is the evening of the 19th.
unsure if launch date is announced the 14th or not.

there ya go. feel free to screenshot.

14th Aug? Sep?

rather save myself the disgusting amount of time and just be lazy. one less trinket to worry about swapping mid fight. Unless servers are going to be typical size and not some enlarged 8-10k servers I doubt the employed will see this while the game is still popular.

I think I just sharted (shitted & farted)

how do you solo the last boss in dm:e?

That's not gonna happen. You're not gonna beat out the 20+ sperging sycophants following them around.

However, threads on here organizing raids to thrash streamers? I'm all for that.

beta starts may 19th, is announced tuesday the 14th.
the streamers that were brought out to irvine are under nda until the 14th.

so is everyone allowed to go to beta or is again random chosen?

well i did play it and i can say with full confidence that the only thing better about it was no flying and no cross server shit

and i cant really give points for those because that should be baseline in any mmo

youtube.com/watch?v=O-ycQlfOqyY

Nah, after 40th or so their orbiters are going to be thinning out, assuming the streamer is leveling fast.
Would be several opportunities to gank him tho camping him may be more difficult.
I'd honestly go out of my way to avoid playing on a streamer server if i could help it but there's no way to know until we have more info - safe to assume a pvp/pve/rp server for each time zone but who knows. Most streamers will go pve for obvious reasons (asmon as an example).

I do not know. Historically its been random for the most part, but some betas have had entire guilds receive invites (i doubt this would be the case for this).
Either way you going to want to logon to your bnet account info and update your beta settings, that's probably the only thing you can do. I doubt its for current subs only but i also don't know for sure.

Old World > New World

Cataclysm ruined it by fucking shit up with crap that stopped being relevant by the end of the expansion. I want my old region quests and music back

I started playing at the begining of WotLK. I have hopes for Classic to give me a more fun experience than MoP or Legion.

I cant stand current wow. Ive been mythic raider till the 8.1 etc but its not fun anymore. Also ive been playing on northdale and having more fun than legion and bfa combined

>how do you solo the last boss in dm:e?
Azzan?
Literally I got his HP down to 0 before he made me heal ONCE. I panicked a bit once I saw the imps coming down the ramp but he died before the imps reached me.
I was surprised at how little damage he did.

Tidal charm is really not necessary unless you're a min-maxing duelfag, anyway.

>do a battleground
>some tryhard tries to burst me down with a CC chain using tidal charm
>a random priest heals me once
>endless hours of waiting for his stupid trinket to drop on top of a 15 min cd, just to be countered by one spell

If I ever duel somebody using that thing and they still lose, I'm going to talk SO much shit to them.

What is the difference between squelch and ignore?

based and gonefishin'pilled

Wait no his name is Alzzin.
There IS a ledge/dropspot in that room where he goes the long way around to reach you but I never even had the reason to use it.
So far as I know there's no ledge in Stratholme, and while there IS one in Scholomance it requires killing Rattlegore and good lordy I may be Op but I'm not THAT Op.
Tried to solo UBRS.
Managed to reach the Rookery, went no further.
Tried to solo BRD
God that was a chore and a half but I did it eventually. Hardest part was Trial of the Seven.
Didn't solo any T0.5 stuff since it wasn't in game at that point.

Mind you, I _was_ in MC gear when I tried these soloes so they might not be doable at ilvls where you'd get any useful loot.

it's a hearthstone thing, it has no game chat only emotes. if some sperg is spamming emotes you squelch him and don't see emotes during the match.

there is more soul in honor hold than the entirety of post cataclysm zone content

Most fun thing to solo was definitely LBRS (even if Urok shits on me) simply because of how much of your kit you end up using and how many different pulling/movement tricks you use.
I'd love to do the Scholomance solo and I'm reasonably sure I _could_ do it if someone killed Rattlegore for me but "Solo if someone else kills stuff for you" isn't fucking solo, now is it.

Yeah, I just don't see how it's worse than the ignore function in wow.

>lf2m healer + tank can summon

i will never forgive them for CSI Westfall

Squelch and Ignore are the same thing.

They associate WoW with the time in their life that they had infinite possibilities for their future, not realizing WoW is what killed the hope for their future.
They anticipate that feeling of youth again. It will be brief and disappointing.

Did anyone in high school feel like they had infinite possibilities?

Not the vibe I'm getting from the kids I teach, and certainly not what I was thinking back then.

>Projection: the post.
You know, it could be that it's just a fun game to play with friends and a good way to make new friends online.

played vanilla private servers and had a blast. tried retail during legion and hated it. official classic realms offer priv server experience with accurate scripts, no chinese and no slimy administration that colludes with chinese gold sellers.

This is the most idiotic statement I’ve read in weeks, troll or not

because im a 27 year old boomer and I DID play vanilla, I'm looking to play it because that timeline is associated with some of the best days of my life, and im looking to re-capture some of that joy. note: this will not happen, but I may enjoy a brief respite from the drudgery of modern life, so fuck you man, let me be excited , this is all ive got.

I remember being 13 and playing vanilla wow, and the only thought for my future was literally "i bet and hope ill be playing wow forever". So no, wow isn't associated with infinite possibilities for my future, its associated with amazing times with friends in a groundbreaking (TO US) game.

Youth is shite. You have so many more interruptions to your game time than when you're an adult.

For instance. This faggot. This is a faggot who has lost control of his life and doesn't enjoy being an adult.

>can choose between trinket giving actual stats or a hard to get utility trinket available at around mid level

This is what i like about vanilla. It wasn't a case of just equipping the biggest DPS increasing items and calling it a day.

blizzard is afraid of classic and the pandoras box they might be opening with it

they would have loved if everyone just played the current xpac shut up and fed them money but they saw private classic servers stealing (an extremely small fraction of) their potential customers and just had to step in

I'm 30, married, job, the whole shebang, and it's got nothing on classic wow.

He's right though in that most people don't choose what they enjoy, they just mindlessly enjoy things without even realising that they _can_ train themselves to enjoy things other than what they currently do.

Is this how you trained yourself to become a faggot?

Nah, it's how I trained myself to stop being a faggot. You should try it; sounds like it might help you.

While endgame raiding will be fun, I can't wait to just quest, fish, run dungeons, and socialize with other people out in the world again

Attached: happy pepe.jpg (300x300, 22K)

I did. I was a top 50 vanilla raider.
>Farming gromsblood for dkp in the early mornings
>Coming home after a grueling schoo/workday to vicious shitters competing w me for limited naxx gear drops
>never being able to miss a SECOND for a fear I'll lose gear to them
Enjoy "going home" zoomer shittards. I will be here laughing at you from a distance playing comfy games.

Attached: thisisfine.png (746x658, 510K)

Got me with that one

Trinkets were meant to be fun items with interesting effects but some time around BC they invented the standardized DPS trinket that gave you a passive stat bonus and a "proc" that happened every now and then. There were some cool trinkets in vanilla like one that summons a cannon and one that resurrects you when you die.

>Worgen

Tbc > vanilla

It's your own fault for not enjoying having a second job, user.
Have you tried enjoying farming gromsblood or having 100% naxx attendance?

One thing we'll never get back is GMS showing up in the world in person. I remember my guild walljumping up to the IF airstrip and having a dancing party and fucking around.
Suddenly a GM showed up, scowled us in /y and teleported everyone in front of IF but about 100 feet in the air.

I saw a Warlock solo DM:E including Alzzin but that was on Nost and relied heavily on shitty monster pathing. In any case, it could be worth doing if only to hoard all the veins to yourself.

It is overwhelmingly not worth if you're doing it for rich thorium.
You will get far more by just cruising Winterspring or Un'goro.
Now, 2man, with you and a DPS, then yeah it'd be worth. But if you're grouping for money then Stratholme Live side exists.

And yeah, shitty monster pathfinding is pretty much the core of soloing shit in Vanilla past Sunken Temple.

>comfy dead hour leveling
Home....

Attached: 1528174515158.jpg (800x900, 47K)

they said walljumping won't be a thing either, since they use the current wow engine for recreating classic

Going to get in on that initial three months of Classic where everyone is happy and we can sorta relive the old days of MMOing, and then ducking out before everyone gets bored at the level cap.

It'll be a good romp.

I'm going to miss it. Was fun for getting into otherwise key-locked areas prematurely. All because of the game's weird physics mathing vs. slopes.

So what is the best tank class? I always liked the role.

Warrior all the way. Feral druid can tank some 5 mans decently und prot paladin is called olololadin for a reason.
Prepare for a painful leveling as a warrior though. I fully expect retailniggers to all roll druid and shit up the class.

I'm leveling with mining so I can keep all the ore and eventually get engineering once I hit 60. Which other gathering profession should I take?

I did. I want to do so again.
Go fuck yourself with a rake.

I'm not, I know Vanilla is mostly viewed through hardcore nostalgia glasses for the vast majority of people, sure there is a minority that played on privs recently that will maybe stick around, but most of the playerbase will fall off quick. I think vanilla is extremely dated and all the things about it that were good aren't going to be recaptured in Classic because we aren't young and impressionable anymore and the world of WoW isn't filled with mystery and wonder. I also think that the daily Classic threads on Yea Forums are just shills because they pretty much never change the pattern

Attached: Inaba.Himeko.full.1239879.jpg (1464x2125, 441K)

That’s not what he said at all. He said Bliz made BFA hot garbage on purpose to drive people to classic, which makes fuckall sense

Pickpocketing

Peopl bithcing bout QoL issues don’t get that it’s the little things we had to do like fish for pet food and cooking food is what made the game more substantial.

Yeah, that's batshit crazy. I agree with you there.

>it's nostalgia
>it will die fast
>it is old (this matters why? chess is old)
>we aren't young anymore (whoa, people grow up?)
>no "mystery"
>everyone talking about it are shills but i'm not when i shill against the game
Hits every useless-shitpost checkmark. And he baited me to reply

no idea what professions to go on my mage, people say engineering and tailoring is best for the gear you can make but ill be fucking broke, should I just roll mining/engi?

Been playing on a pserver. Why are warriors such gigantic faggots? They're massive loot sponges that sperg out if you roll on THEIR loot. They either refuse to invite anyone that would compete with them or straight up reserve the best item and main reason anybody goes and expect 4 people to be honoured to carry them to their loot. Had a tank hijack a stratholme run to kill the Unforgiven 5 times before he would allow us to continue with the dungeon just so he could get a leather helm.

Just don’t show up, faggot

Nuh-uh, he didn't mention meme specs and the inviability of Balance Druids, Retdins, Ele shams or the like!

You know it all zoomers that keep stating how it will fail seem to follow a pattern as well

Instead of playing on a private server why are you guys willing to play this shit consider this will still be manage by Acti/Blizz?

Attached: 1446071335467.png (900x900, 373K)

>''I don't like what he's saying therefore he must be shitposting''
Well how about you put up some counterarguments then? I never said it will die fast, I said most playerbase will fall off quickly and until you prove me wrong I will hold that opinion. And I never said it's bad because it's old, it's bad because it's dated. Many old games hold up to this day, but vanilla isn't one of them. And yes, being older is quite a big thing, go back to a lot of things you enjoyed when you were younger and see how many of them still feel good.
Almost like people criticise the same aspects of the game

Because I played Vanilla. I'm not downright hype for it because I know exactly what to expect. I'm mostly looking to play through the same shit with a different class for a little while.

The good stuff:
>We're going to play it with the same group of boomers that played it as teens when it came out
>The nostalgia trip with the zones and atmosphere while leveling
>I've been wanting to play it again ever since TBC came out and abruptly ruined my fun with it
>Get to play it with a new class

The bad stuff
>I already did all the raids once, it will be shit wiping there with 32 new sacks of potatoes that me and my friends will have to carry
>The PvP system is horrid and no way I'm going for R13 again

I'm not too hyped because I'm afraid I'll burn out pretty quickly once I get to the actual grind. As much as fun as it was to dick around in PvP in my AQ40/Naxx gear, getting to that point might feel like a chore this time around.

Attached: 1351008249199.jpg (822x720, 105K)

The key is to get to know players and make reliable friends

Tanks are accountable to healers and healers are accountable to tanks. In that strath run if I were the healer I would've left after the 2nd try and the group would have dissolved. Shame on your healer for doing nothing.

>And I never said it's bad because it's old, it's bad because it's dated.
The difference being?

Because I value my time too much to waste months of it grinding on one only to have Actishit DMCA it all away overnight one day. It has happened to literally every fucking Vanilla private server.

Warrior 100%. But the experience sucks balls for a lot of the game and if you can deal with most of your raiding career playing as prot until fury becomes usable late aq40 then go ahead. The game becomes fun when you start dripping in gear. Your gold making ability is pretty much limited to group dungeon activities.

Druid can work, but you'll be putting in more effort than any other class in the game to even be near the word 'successful'. You can tank MC handily. But then your butthole starts getting ripped apart on bosses that reduce armor by percentage and you essentially become the spare tire of the raid. Just being used if a warrior dies or doesn't show up. You can effectively 'dual spec' if you can call it that, with some talent builds, just gotta carry the gear. You can farm just about anything in crap gear and in heal spec if you so choose. Leveling experience is great tier.

Druid tanking is more brainless than warrior since you only need to do a few weapon swapping mid fight (swapping to mcp and wardens and more mcps) less buttons to push as well. But basically do not play druid unless you really are willing to try your absolute ass off at everything you do.

Attached: 1551356810125.jpg (768x960, 91K)

>Why are warriors such gigantic faggots?
My only experience is in classic since I don't pserver and there's over a decade between then and now, so my experiences might not be true.

But were you dealing with DPS warriors?
DPS warriors have a massive case of small name big ego. They think that because they could potentially tank, that this gives them more power and authority than other people over who gets loot.
Sure, that might be the case for tank loot. But for dps loot? No. >>>/back of the bus/ with you, you're a rogue that clinks and clatters when it moves. Not a warrior.

As for doing dungeon runs repeatedly for one specific item. I've done that a few times when a bunch of people all wanted items from the same dungeon, so we'd plow the dungeon until at least 4/5 of us have the items we want. It's not unusual.
If it was him and ONLY him that was demanding loot runs, then that is some L e l and you should just leave group and hearth out.

>Almost like
>>>/reddit/

There’s a large, multi-year private server playerbase which is why Bliz is even doing the project - there’s our evidence. What’s your evidence? Please exclude anything you pull out of your ass

But, you all sound like idiots in here you guys.

Druid can be really nice, but Warrior is usually better, though they are annoying to level.

Attached: 1532428081460.jpg (753x897, 660K)

It's mechanically old, not graphically. Games like Deus Ex or such still hold up to this day
Yes and I included those people in my initial post
''sure there is a minority that played on privs recently that will maybe stick around''

Your prior statement is not evidence, try again

>It's mechanically old, not graphically. Games like Deus Ex or such still hold up to this day
You cannot be serious. All MMOS are mechanically shit. They haven't improved in years and adding "action combat" hasn''t made any MMO more interesting or fun. Now I don't want to talk bad about Deus Ex because I love it but its just as "mechanically old" you just like it more. Get fucked retail cuck.

>millions of people think it holds up
>they want to play it, they play it on pservers
>you don't because [no reason at all]
>"It's not because it's old, it's bad because it's mechanically old! That's not the same as 'old' ."

Attached: tgt_fkdinthehead.png (294x336, 89K)

you're right, I'm a wrath faggot and I started playing vanilla a week after wod launch. Been playing on classic servers ever since, never looked back to the abomination that is retail wow.
I've never been this fucking hyped for anything ever, classic can't come soon enough

>Deus Ex
>Not mechanically outdated
Everything else aside, I know you're trying really hard to fit in but it's an even older and even more outdated game.

Which helm is that? I don't recognise it.

Better ping
Better view distances (I hope :0)
No Chinese
No private server cheating
Safe characters
And it's the ultimate fresh

>better view distances
fucking better be, the current system of "see something once you get in melee range" is absolute garbage

Which class is the cunybro?

The uninstall wizard

you're alright
would advise against shamans though

>safe characters
What does that mean

>My uncles son
lol, cuck

Attached: thinking 2.jpg (720x960, 62K)

not him but i'm guessing he's referring to how on a private server, your characters are never guaranteed to be there next time you log in. server might shut down, might have memory issues, or the shitty admin might straight up take all your character's loot / delete it if it's too inactive

your characters are safe in blizzard's hand compared to a pserver

Nostalgia.

Give them 2 weeks they'll realise how shit it is and they'll give up.

The funniest thing is that its not even real classic wow either.

Its just vanilla wow, no expansions with all the modern updates etc. Its not 1:1 classic wow.

aq40

Yea Forums is full of incels who failed at life and are nostalgic.
WoW isn't even a good game : The lore is trash, the gameplay is casual.
For a lot of ppl it was their first mmo.

Fuck I'm a retard, I recognise it now. Thanks.

>never ever haha
>Ok well...good for you I guess
>Whatever vanilla sucked anyway
>You won't even like it,
>Fuck...come back...pls..

it is known

Paladins, they like pure and innocent things.

Also
>muh 2 weeks
>i-it's not real classic

this is not the right MMO to cunybro in, sorry dude.

Except tokens wont be sold on classic, you dipshit.

mages belong next to hunter for mentally retarded players

>vanilla...home...at least it was before i fucked everythang up

Rogues are the biggest whiners and faggots, lol.

lmaoooooooooooooooooo sucks to be horde

the thunderbrew flask?
it does 50 damage per second/5 seconds and has a 30 minute cd
you aren't killing anyone above level 10 with it

Should I gamble on finding a guild before release or just roll with the punches and hope I get in with some good people while leveling/gearing up?

Attached: jHU53zG.png (263x321, 16K)

DSP plays WoW
youtu.be/EkGLLo6JfeA

Honestly this meme is the most intriguing selling point for rolling alliance, also I don’t want to level through bright orange zones for hours.

zoomer vanilla wow was popular beyond anyone's expectations.
Blizzard was expecting to crush EQ and wound up crushing the entire industry.
Then they waited what seemed like forever to release an expansion, because their vanilla game was so solid

Who even likes the Horde colours?

Attached: 1545150180220.png (1502x851, 2.12M)

Now we talking.

I usually get up at 4.30 and go to bed around 9-10.

vanilla community was the worst of any mmo at the time

I'd go mining/tailor and then level engi at 60.

It surprise me that this man has a daughter. I hoped that his unhealthy lifestyle would render him infertile.

>ignores all the the nomadic culture
>ignores Troll empires
Why build something when you can take it? Lok'tar ogar, faggot.

>Troll Empire
You mean Wakanda?

This is what I'm very ambivalent about.

I know that I will enjoy levelling, but I'm not sure if I have the patience/fortitude to grind shit at 60. Especially not if I hit the AQ40 wall like I did in vanilla.

>Lost the first war
>Lost the 2nd war and ran back to outland like bitches
>Forced to flee the Eastern Kingdoms and had to join forces with the Alliance
You burned a tree. Okay.

I played vanilla and i loved it. that's why i am hyped again.

>getting mad at anons discussing video games

because I played vanilla wow, zoomie retard.

>No chinese

>tfw actually did play Vanilla WoW

Leveling a KT Druid to 110 so I can officially shelve Retail. Maybe buy some tokens while they are cheaper before Classic release fucks it up.

Attached: Satyr Female.jpg (822x1200, 106K)

haha yes you are sooo right pepe! tell em!

Vanilla will last because it's actually a lot more friendly and for casuals than retail.

You don't have a checklist of stuff to do or you fall behind forever, endgame is presented in a way that lets people do what they prefer instead of pushing everyone to raids, a lot less time gating, the world is designed to be enjoyed and not to slow you down, the world is designed for people to level through and enjoy it, not just a timewaster for people doing their 50th alt.

It was the same back then. WoW was so big precisely because it was not hardcore and was for everyone.

Night elves are literally just a troll tribe.

About women playing on the alliance, I'd like to share one of my favorite vanilla memories

>13 years old
>roll a troll priest
>school's out for summer in '05 so I start no-lifing wow, playing the new bg's (wsg and av)
>after countless hours of mostly pvp healing, one guild notices me and invites me
>I do everything with my new guildies and even the max level officers would help me with simple stuff like getting new bags
>bwl gets released and I'm invited along even though I'm a fresh 60
>they instruct me to join their teamspeak, specifically the healer chat
>introduce myself "hi I'm user, the troll"
>gm answers back "aw welcome hun, I hope you're ready to get some good loot today" in the most motherly voice imaginable
>the other healers say hi
>they're all girls
>the guild is majority female
As I later found out it started as a girl's-only guild but they relaxed the rules when they wanted to find enough bodies for 40-man raids. I stayed in that guild until I eventually quit shortly before wotlk. I miss talking to them, my big sisters, even more than I miss vanilla.

I play vanilla and I'm not excited for it. Vanilla was shit, but it was the best we had *then*. Classic WoW dead in 3 months.

vanillafag here. im only hyped for the seethe on /v once the pink nostalgia glasses shatters, and which excuse they use to not admit it like.
it propably starts with like "blizzard fucked it up! improved graphics doesnt feel like vanilla!"

yeaah duude im so hyped for people disliking a game that i (totally) dont care about hah daawg it's gonna be soo fun amirite :^)
it'll probably go something like this "aww man i don't actually wanna play this game bro!"
hah it'll be sweet dawg

>tfw sending my pet in to gank low levels in gadgetzan while im safe standing outside

>tfw standing perfectly outside of aggro range of guards in neutral towns and nuking people
>they aggro guards if they fight back against me

Attached: 1528040789606.gif (498x280, 2.98M)

Stagnation and thirst
When everything is utter crap, things tend to look a lot better than they actually are. I can guarantee you 50% of the playerbase will leave within 2 months. Not because of the
>kek zoomer fegit gaem 2 hard 4 u
but simply because the game belongs to that period of time. Vanilla was good from that point of view, but it doesn't mean it is good now. There are a lot of questionable things in them not to mention most people have already the knowledge about the game. The best part of it always was discovering the unknown and that is gone.

>2 months
pffft, i bet they'll leave within 2 seconds. They'll just see the login screen and then the hypnosis will drop, they will be like
>"Wtf, why have i been so ecited to play this game? Suddenly i am not anymore!"
And then they will drop it and install BfA. An eagle named "Hazzikostas" will fly in through the window into the server hall, land on the server rack and shed a single tear on the harddrive, corrupting it and destroying Classic WoW forever.

>old bad new good
Um, no sweety. Old MMORPGs are MMORPGs. New MMORPGs are online action RPGs. A desire for the former still exists, clearly. Even games which predate World of Warcraft continue to hold onto some kind of playerbase, both on official servers (where still available) and on private servers.

Just spittin' facts. Go play your zoomercore lobby "MMO" if that's what you're into.

>He didn't detect the irony in my "eagle" post

Someone made the EXACT post on le rebbit 6 years ago about OSRS and all of these little queers spent their hard earned money giving that comment reddit gold because they were convinced they were right. Look at OSRS now. To this day, it's the most humiliating thing some retard has said thinking he knew better. You're no different. You'll be a part of the collage of retards 6 years from now when Classic tears retail a new one. And this is coming from someone who played BFA.

>early morning
>July so you have summer vacation off from work
>you have the day off
>you drive out to your local store and stock up on supplies for the weekend
>get home and boot up vanilla WoW
>drift away into the world of warcraft

Who /comfy/ here? I WANT IT NOOOW

thats because osrs lives on nostalgia too, little fucks grew up and now they play (and pay) a lot these older games

in 20years zoomers will be demanding BFA servers for their sweet nostalgia

source

All women guild sounds like a horrible idea. Women cant work together for shit.

or they could just leave WoW like someone with common sense would do.
shh kiddo, your precious genre is stagnated as fuck and the only people who still starve for it are too stupid to realize they have so much more option to choose from. Look fampaitachi I'm not here to shit on you, but the fact is that most people here tend to completely forget that vanilla was nowhere as near good as it exists in their head. Now what you'll see is a fuckton of warriors parkouring, inner circle drama crap, unlimited MC works, 60's UD rogue camping redridge, minmaxing faggotry (oh boy this will be fuckhuge), and you always tend forget the best part:
ACTIVISION blizzard. Okay now lets be completely honest here, you still trust these fucks?

Also let me tell you this: your precious memories come from interacting with other player, not the game itself. Lmao even the shit you talk about centers around that you want a game where you rely on others. Its that simple.

I'm just waiting for yet another MMO launch.
Classic will be a shitty one at that, too.
But I'm a shit eater MMO fag so this is just fine for me.
Maybe one day the MMO genre will be revived, but for now we have to settle for shit like wow classic and some korean pukes.

They're mindless blizzdrones. They'll slobber on actiblizzs cock no matter the shit they spew out.

nice did you sex them

Attached: Brought to you by troll gang v2.png (1204x768, 1.46M)

yeah it lives on nostalgia so hard that 80% of the relevant content never existed past the year 2015. Good argument lmfao.

this, biggest whiny edgy faggots of vanilla were and always will be rogues
>how come I didnt win that INT leather gear??? rogues use INT for stuff!

When we're heading down to Gruul's you know that i'm the man
Heal me pls cause i'm MT tanking Krush Firehand
Spell steal the shield every time like it was planned
No one else can withstand his brand of pain
Don't you understand?

yes, i sold gold for sex since 2 of them lived in my city

>nostalgia
I love this meme. No one does or plays something solely based on nostalgia. Nostalgia is just the frosting. It tastes good, but by itself it's vapid. Empty. The reason people still play OSRS is because they enjoy the core game. Runescape 3 still exists. Runescape 3 still has nostalgic quests and armor. Why don't people go and play that? Because it's not good.

These games need updates and the game design that made them popular in the first place. Otherwise, they won't survive.

Its going to be really interesting to see streamers try to get into classic, primarily because their fame and notoriety as an entertainer or as a pro at a different game might not translate well to a game where you need 40 people to raid in.

A streamer isn't always going to be able to turn into a perfect raid leader or main tank

Oh please, any streamer with 500+ viewers will easily gather a clout of 39 dicksuckers ready to carry his ass for a chance to appear on screen, just like it is now in bfa, or really any other mmo.

WoW classic has the necessary elements that make for the perfect soil to push people to interact with each other and ultimately make ingame friends.
MMORPGs are social games, and bonds are what keep people playing.
Every convenience that the game implemented, is a required social interaction that became skipped.

If you are going to play classic wow, expect people to send you party invitations every 2 seconds to complete hunting quests, only to disband with a thanks after a while, you'll make a lot of friends along the way, that warlock that will enchant your cape for free, a mage that'll give you food and drinks without even asking, that priest that sits in the city buffing everyone.

Go with an open mind and willing to interact with people, because in vanilla wow, people can screw you over pretty hard, but that also means that you'll remember people that were nice to you.

classic wont be classic because someone is going to implement a raider.io score like system for it and im fairly certain that a lfg-addon will be a thing aswell

how come nobody gave a fuck until streamers started advertising it, there was no vanilla private server for a LONG time, they downgraded TBC private server client to support hosting vanilla servers
that means the entire duration of vanilla, for 3 years NOBODY gave a fuck about making a free version of it, and then in tbc (when the game got good, and this is what everyone remembers not fucking classic) they made the first client for tbc lmao

this piece of shit is almost impossible to get without bribing the few autists that share the spawntimer between themselves

When are we going to say enough and rise against the oppresion, Shadowpriesbros?

I played Classic p-server back in 2008, that's 11 years ago. Literally played in my mom's basement, feels good.

or you could just go engineering and save a trinket slot

>x since 2 of them lived in my city

>want to play Alliance
>want to play Priest
>don't want to play an ugly Dwarf
Any hope of getting into a raid group is already gone before the game launched

Attached: 17.jpg (1280x720, 102K)

Not really, fear ward is good but not that necessary.

You'll get into raids just fine either way. Farm your preraid and it's still a free slot for a priest.

Yep, banning this shit won't help either, people will just use massive discord server lfg channels.

>there was no vanilla private server for a LONG time
there were a lot of, they just all died due to underpopulation (atleast all blizzlike once without tripple ep stuff)
it was fascinating to play on a vanilla privat server, you could literally see the moment when nostalgia glasses shatter and people would quit the game again

Attached: file.png (1020x744, 206K)

And then you wake up, and realize parties disbanding and HSing the very moment they are done with the quest and not even helping others to finish it, while a fuckton of people still sit in blues. If you are that delusional you think people will not choose wiki over others you are damn fucking wrong. (not to mention sharding kek)
>b-but my memories say otherwise
Lack of information also contributed to create a community. There were these "urban legend" types too like fishing out ashbringer. This made the game exciting because you din't know shit, so your mind run wild. Now you know everything about it, and the charm is lost, so is the need to depend on others. Majority of people will go solo, party up with others only if they need a specific item/quest and leave. In fact soloing is actually more convenient as exp/h, people will use this. Just because they didn't back then it doesn't mean they will not do it now.
Even the most self entitled vanilla crusaders, like that tips guy they will do this shit, who have been exposed.
>b-but there was the devilsaur mafia now
Oh wait there was no such thing actually, because most people couldn't even get their keybinds right (and they still do and backpedal and click), and they had abso-fucking-lutely no idea what are great farm spots. Now this hardcoar mimnax elitism will be imported to the game, so this watered down "classic" will be an even shittier experience.
>b-but the super scaled wpvp groups
Its all organized, by hardcore minmax autists. In doubt? No problemo fampai

You are an absolute fucking retard if you think that people didn't change at all. Its the same exact matter if there was a group finder in it.
>ugh you don't have to use it lol
Yes well 90% of people would use it, I can bet my fucking nutsack on that. The days where YOU got excited because your friend got an epic are gone.
The only good shit you'll get is posting the tiananmen copypasta to chinks ingame.

Not an argument. Get fucked.
Oh yeah and that tiananmen pasta reminded me one more thing:
>heh classic was hard guys you had to earn your g trough hard work, oh boy I remember how I needed to save up my gold
You either killed the same exact mob for hours, OR bought gold from chinks. Let me tell you buddy: A lot of these classic crusaders who praise the game did buy gold, and will do the same after lauch. Oopsie.
Oh yeah and back then the auction flipping was not as big. Now? Oh boy you are in for a wild ride.

Can you fucking read? I didn't say anything about having enough raiders.

Warrior is the only viable MT.

You can offtank a lot of encounters as Pally/Druid as well as dungeons, but a fucking Shaman with a shield can do that too in a lot of cases. There's also the question of why bother taking classes that can manage to fill a role rather than classes that excel at a role. Especially when Four Horsemen will kill your guild unless you have multiple geared Prot warriors.

druid pulls more thread

I did play classic. I was so used to UO and its freedom WoW was the nearest thing to that freedom. WoTLK is my favorite because it still felt like you could wander around and do what you wanted but do stuff like dungeon finder if you didn't want to wait for an hour just to start one instance. This time I'll join a guild in Classic. I already did the guildless thing and it was rewarding to not get grandfathered into stuff but man I don't know if I'll ever have the amount of time to devote to that game to do that again.

Now you have my interest because only reason I will play an MMO is the MILFs.
I thought women always go for female taurens and trolls, so they are more horde oriented. If you see a femtauren or troll, they are definitely played by a female, this is a golden rule. As for alliance I never really noticed this kind of thing. Maybe femdwarf at best.

praying for you vanilla fags that your dreams come true, but it's hilarious how you all forget that this shit was 15 years ago. So much has changed since then in terms of people, information availability, internet, amount of gaming options that i feel like vanilla will die in 1 year. Vanilla was fun because it came in a time where none of the shit we have today existed. Now literally every piece of information is available in seconds - quests, builds, tactics - they will just be the same for everyone. Idk man, i can't even imagine being hyped to play this shit today, but godspeed

Attached: 1543134545686.jpg (680x402, 25K)

no one who has not played it is hyped for it.

>rclick report

won't be on vanilla

source: my ass, but you don't have source either

vanilla is still by far the best mmo experience. even with the same content

to add to my point - you even have shit like this in this very thread - and not knowing how to do any of this shit back then and discovering it for yourself was one of the main draws.

The thing about WotlK was they kind of designed it so you didn't even need a guild, i played Naxx, VoA, and Sarth without a guild, just joined random pug:s and it went fine, why should i get a guild? Ulduar progression raiding i guess was pretty tough, but i quit when it came out anyway.

>rotation is one button
how can you even tell if theyre retarded?

How do you check sub history now? Use to be really simple.

>and socialize with other people out in the world again
i am sure that experience will be exactly how you remember it user, and totally different from the one on BfA.

>a class is defined by it's easiest pve rotation
cmon now

>you all forget that this shit was 15 years ago
Trust me we never forget, there's 10 retard spammers like you reminding us in every single thread. Reminding us that we are enjoying a game that is 15 years old (somehow old things are automatically bad)

It is like that on private servers

Name a single boss mechanic/debuff from molten core right now without looking it up and tell me exactly what it does.

So much for your solved game.

gehenass reduced healing by 75%

I don't think he means that HE has actually solved the game, i think he means that he can look up the strats online from someone who solved it. And that makes the game bad because... Hm... Reasons.

>Stand in fire
>Die
Wow such deep gameplay 10/10

Thottbot and Wowhead were things back then. As well as some very basic raid mods.

You idiots act like WoW came out in 1990.

orcs having 25% stun resist would like a word with you

maybe because you haven't played more MMOs, and even if you did, just because it was back then, it doesn't mean you will like it now after you changed.
no, that wasn't my point, old games can be great, but in an MMO there won't be the same feel and experience that you remember, especially after playing so many other games that are superior, including wow expansions
the fuck is this supposed to prove ? i was mainly talking about the player experience now vs back then, it will not be the same because of shit like that. If you don't look it up, other people in the raid will and good luck avoiding shit like that

I am not trying to shit on vanilla, i hope you guys make it there, but i don't see it happening

>rewarding people just for showing up to raid
>not rewarding people based on their performance and dedication as well
>giving loot to whoever stockpiled the most DKP, rather than who needs it the most or who deserves it the most

yeah no thanks

>what is a first cousin
Do you enjoy being this retarded?

I have played more MMOs.
Have you played vanilla?

People should absolutely be rewarded for showing up, if you can adhere to a schedule then you should be put in higher priority for loot.

>461869008
>haha game sucks people don't kow what they want xd xd

seething retailnigger

Who hasnt played vanilla either when it was new or a private server.

Vanilla raids are cake, theres a reason people pug that shit on private servers.

A majority of private server players are shit too

While DKP is flawed, you can't just upgrade who's viable if they're not showing up to put in work. Had this issue late vanilla with people who felt they were too 'geared' or important to show up for lesser raids and could swing in for other content and just get what they wanted.

But "showing up" being the only thing that decides who gets loot, is dumb.

I was in a DKP guild throughout wotlk and cata and it sucked. There was frequent drama over loot, people bidding each other up just to get them to spend more DKP, people not bidding on items they needed just to stockpile DKP for a more important item, etc.

loot council is infinitely superior

>I played a 20x server and pugged molten core
okay it's retarded

Alliance MILFs are almost universally Human females or Night Elf females.
I've known one that was a female Gnome.
Dwarven females aren't played by either gender, sadly. If you do find one, buy a lottery ticket, cause it's your lucky day.

This is based on what was normal 15 years ago, so I can't promise there weren't small shifts.

That's a horrible spec, learn to play.

Loot council almost always leads towards slacking off when the comfort of knowing what gear you will get first sets in, DKP ensures that there is an inherent reward for putting in more time and effort than other people.

because i only ever played private servers running the vanilla patch, and it is easily one of my favorite MMO's. now it comes out by blizzard? amazing. I never got into any endgame content either cause i figured who the fuck cares on a private server especially now that classic is announced so i'm pretty excited

dip into arms and not protection so you can fucking stance dance you retard. thunderclap isn't able to be used in defensive stance

>Loot council almost always leads towards slacking off when the comfort of knowing what gear you will get first sets in

What?

>DKP ensures that there is an inherent reward for putting in more time and effort than other people

except no amount of "time and effort" will get you more DKP than other people, since DKP is only rewarded for showing up to raid

Loot Council actually rewards effort; you give loot to people who have their shit enchanted, have their pre-bis farmed, use consumes, get world buffs, etc.

Aren't human/NE females are always guys? They always seem to be VERY tryhard, which is not a trait you see in females. Also then which faction has the most of them, Horde or ally? This is important because its the only reason why I would play this 14 year old crap.

This is honestly the biggest selling point of classic wow, in vanilla not everyone got to finish the endgame content, this time around we might all be able to see a kel'thuzad death in person.

>killing KT
yeah if you're willing to invest 50+ days played

the virgin loot council Vs. the Chad /roll

why do some races fit classes perfectly? imo troll hunters are absolute kino. they always seemed at one with nature

I don't care about any of that, DKP doesn't cause drama unless you don't have enough, and that's your fault alone.

put legion to D and its good

DKP:
>did you show up to raid: yes / no

Loot council:
>attendance
>consumes
>dps meters
>actual raid performance in general
>how big of an upgrade the item is
>does the item get you to a set bonus threshold
>do you have the mats to acquire the item (T2.5 sets, etc)
among other things

Not that guy, but saying DKP doesn't reward effort is retarded, it's like you are purposefully ignoring the fact that you can give dkp for other things than showing up to raid
Strawmanning to be able to defend your LC loot system says a lot about how good LC is

It's because retail has gotten so bad that people who'd otherwise just slog through shit expacs would now rather play an older version of the game than deal with what nu-blizzard is dishing out.

I was thinking of putting it to E

Sorry i already left for another raiding guild in the 20 minutes of my life you wasted talking in officer chat.

What does leveling speed have anything to do with raids you fucking retard?

If this leads to a dedicated Wotlk server I'll take it. Private wotlk serves are a joke, constant bugs, no events work. half the quests don't wok, and it is flooded with people that just bought insane gear you got no real chance against in pvp. I'll still play classic because it will be fun.

Not that guy but jesus what a terrible post
>attendance
Are you implying DKP doesn't reward attendance? Lol
>consumes
>dps meters
>actual raid performance in general
Pretending that different amounts of DKP can be given depending on these things, and pretending like there aren't rank prios etc etc etc
>>how big of an upgrade the item is
>does the item get you to a set bonus threshold
>do you have the mats to acquire the item (T2.5 sets, etc)
Pretending that these things aren't going to be reflected in how much a person bids for an item

How delusional do you have to be to make arguments like this

>self admitted funserver player thinks he knows the game

Attached: saidso.jpg (221x348, 50K)

I recently started playing the wotlk patch on a server, can't lie i like draenei and blood elves (and flying mounts) although i recognize the downsides. also fuck dungeon finder

>didnt admit anything
>1x and 20x no difference raids are the same

Attached: file.png (645x729, 138K)

but honestly, you have no argument against user. The length of time needed to get max level to raid doesn't make raiding different.

Unless the entire guild democratically votes on who the loot council members are and new elections are held at regular intervals, loot council is unfair and prone to bias. DKP isn't perfect but it eliminates the chance for a select few, that can't be held accountable, to dish out the loot.
Also if you're arguement for loot council would be "only guilds that are close enough for corrupt officers not to exist would use it", then a guild that close wouldn't have DKP abusers in it either.

If you join a random guild in classic and they use loot council, and the loot council is the GM and the officers: leave. They've probably decided who's getting all the loot before you even enter the instance.

Molten core is babby's first raid and not representative of the GAME you faggot

most pathetic samefag i have ever seen

That guy is an idiot. Getting 40 people to show up and be ready is by far the hardest thing.

Good luck raiding with 20 skilled players + pugs versus 40 average players who all show up.

>WotLKbabbies think they're accepted now

Attached: over 9000 hours.png (693x166, 9K)

based

People like to argue all the time over which race is the optimal choice for DPS warriors. Humans with their sword specialization, orcs and their axe specialization and blood fury. Sometimes there's the troll evangelist. None of these are correct.
The true optimal race for warriors is undead girls. When an undead girl does a 1H (non-fist) special attack, she does a front flip. This adds extra force to her attack.

>dude you took 1 day to hit 60 instead of 10 days
>because it didnt take you 9 extra days to hit 60 the raids are automatically harder and you have no idea what youre talking about!

Yes. You didnt experience any of the game. You skipped it and then played the introduction raid with a bunch of overgeared puggers.

Attached: cmonig.gif (300x300, 2M)

What patch changed to allow TC in both battle and def stance?

>leveling has anything to do with raids

Again youre a retard.

I have when I was a teenager and I'm doing so right now, but to think that the length of time it takes to reach maximum level changes how raid mechanics work is retarded.

Are you actually retarded

Patch 2.0.10 (2007-03-06): "Thunder Clap" is now useable in Defensive Stance. In addition, the tooltip has been adjusted to indicate it causes additional threat.

You are the one that brought up raids. I was talking about the MMO experience.

Think that happened in BC.

Literally the start of TBC. As you would imagine it was pretty gamechanging.

>replaying old games is bad

3 people who can't follow a conversation

>1 fag who has no argument

You won't
The only people who will play this are full grown, sweaty men.

No of these are me and theyre all discussing raids

Retarded

Playing the game for 5 hours and then being carried through a level 55 raid does not give you the vanilla experience. It does not give you an opinion on the game.

Me too man, me too, I did horde from day 1, lets try out something new I say.

I never noticed how the arm dislocates. She spins 360 degrees in air, while the weapon almost doesn't rotate at all relative to camera

KEK

Attached: 1523680035381.jpg (375x375, 41K)

Hahaha oh wow it's literally "that guy" in the guild who refuses to listen to anyone else and uses his own special build that he assures you is ack-chu-ally the most optimal despite him always being at the bottom of the meters. He also seemingly never logs off, has a lisp, and unintentionally drops hints now and again that he's super overweight or living with his parents.
You all knew him. Where do you think he is now?

Youre the only one mentioning getting carried through raids.
All a person needs to know is fire = bad and they are good

Not that guy but that looks like a decent fury tank build, no reason to be mad mate

retard

Vanilla Shamans please help. I like the class but am a bit intimidated by the time commitment.

>level as ele 1-60 since I don't like enh
>do both healing and dps with the same set of gear (what's my stat priority?)
>endgame as resto, gradually get gear to help ele pvp

Will this take forever? Will my guild hate me for taking stuff that could go to mages/locks for ele offspec?

Dude he didn't even grab defiance, the whole point of fury tank is to get big threat and he ain't even doing that right.

>Thinking WoW is difficult in 2019

Must be hard being 20iq

difficult, no
pugworthy? also no.

Yeah sure not the best build maybe
But I mean the post made by was a little aggressive considering the build was better than 90% of builds posted in these threads

DKP:
everyone gets items they need most

Loot council:
officers get loot first, people getting loot they don't need thats BiS for other classes

loot coucil is fucking horrible

dungeon finder is nice after you hit 80. There are tryhards, or morons just like in any normally made group. Getting bad people is inevitable since you are playing with people. It's best use is to find some good people in a guild, make a group and just stomp though a but of instances together. That was always the most satisfying runs I've ever had.

You're in for a surprise come release date
People pub heroic/mythic retail which is significantly more difficult in terms of skill level and boss mechanics required

Vanilla raids are a joke. Especially the beginning ones.

>Especially the beginning ones.
Yes no shit, that is my point.
You aren't going to pug AQ40 or Naxx, and even BWL has too much potential for pugs to ruin everything.
>heroic retail is more difficult
wrong

>dungeon finder is nice after you hit 80.
This is why people will never respect others who like wotlk.

>Retail bosses are mechanically harder than Vanilla
>Wrong

Attached: file.png (1080x971, 391K)

you wouldn't know seeing as how you havent played the game

You dont need to play the game to go to wowwiki and read the mechanic of boss encounter

Maybe you're confusing mechanics for gear

Yes I'm sure you've done that

Attached: 1479578144741.jpg (521x521, 52K)

has anyone tried a 'reflection paladin' before for pvp? general idea is you go prot/retri (picking up the defensive talents, reckoning, holy shield and eye4eye+improved retri) and then stack health and spell power, trying also to pick up 'on hit deals x damage' items. you run around with seal of light, retri and spamming holy shield, letting enemies kill themselves on you. not really designed to be a killer, but good at flag carrying, holding bases and tanking AV mobs

would this work or shit meme?

It works, engineering is mandatory for the shield (forgot name)

7 captchas. Horraaaay

Sounds fun man, paladins are decent for fc or fc support

I dont need to because Ive already experienced them and know, Im not even shitting on vanilla but to try and argue its harder mechanically than retail is a joke.

No, you haven't.

Attached: rr.gif (450x338, 977K)

True, I started playing in BC, and I want to re-live old zones and quests and shit.

>toxic

That buzzword again, opinion discarded

Hi idiot
not that guy and I'm a big vanilla fanboy / nerd but he is right, vanilla raids are often times pretty simple, the challenging part is managing people and organizing shit, not that actual mechanics for the fights
Doesn't mean that it isn't a good/hard game though

it's a melee killer, yeah.
He'd want engineering anyhow if he's into pvp and engineering pairs so well with paladin as it fills in for things the paladin lacks.
But if not he could go for uh.. skullflame shield i think? i get some names confused, but it has a thorn type effect also. should be a few other ones but yeah the eng shield is fantastic - however i forget the rate at which it would break, also dont recall if that aspect happens in pvp or just pve.
you could use an instant 60 server to try this out on, maybe henhouse (not sure how it works but ive seen it mentioned) or the kronos ptr as you could generate items for yourself on it. of course no AV is going to pop on kronos ptr.

Rate my leveling spec. Should I go for elusiveness instead?

Attached: vanillaspec.png (756x481, 615K)

>often times
often times doesn't get you to KT.

>was a little aggressive
Sorry that the truth hurts, user

Perfect spec except for that while leveling assassination you should really get imp slice and dice, snd really speeds up your dps
Also improved gouge is nice against gankers but that's your call

go and learn riposte, its god tier for leveling

>The hardest boss can represent the entire game.

Attached: tgt_wth.jpg (277x297, 30K)

If we are going to be real the guy was retarded for assuming it was a dps spec, I'd assume the rager is a worse player than the person who made the talent build

What?

90/100, there's a retake on monday

yeah shield options theres skullflame (really expensive), the engi one (pretty expensive but probably worth if picking it up for pvp), or some early raid gear (MC shield)

i figure the build can do something ~200 damage per hit unbuffed (thorns makes it stronger), which desu would shred a rogue

And no don't get sub talents if you are leveling, don't even think about it (unless you want to sacrifice leveling ability for pvp ability)

You tried representing the entire game as a carried molten core pug.

The user who made the talent build didn't even know Thunderclap isn't allowed in defensive stance.

beating the easy bosses does not get you to kel'thuzad

If you are fine and communicate to your guild that you will be running 30/0/21 as shaman and that you want some spelldamage gear they will be fine usually, if you heal raids.
For levelling do 1h+shield with flametongue, something like lb+flameshock and then melee a guy down so you regen rest of time, even better if you can turrent down with totems and pull mobs to you one by one, goes quite fast, levelling full caster is slow

vanilla is mechanically simple but its very unforgiving in later raids compared to non-mythic retail raids
20man/MC pugs will be common, BWL pugs will require a decent amount of vetting an organization but will exist, AQ and Naxx wont have traditional pugs but there will be partial guild runs with pug members

What does this have to do with anything?

It is full of the same people that your guild or the group you would fill in chat would fill. It is a decent way to learn mechanics of fights for kinesthetic learning folks. Unless you completely isolate yourself to a tiny group of people you know and have played with a bunch you are getting the same mixture of stupid to skilled players as anything else. Acting like it has no use makes people sound like they think WoW or raiding specifically should be a part time job. After you hit your mid-twenties that thought should be through out the window if you don't want everything outside WoW in your life to be garbage.

>(unless you want to sacrifice leveling ability for pvp ability)
not him and not necessarily arguing with you but if he's on a pvp server i'd always suggest leveling with a pvp build no matter what. Or at least a decent'ish "medium" build that combines some efficiency with pvp ability.
Depends on the person, class, and server but eliminating corpse runs and avoiding being butthurt is a big bonus for me. I always internally clench when i read a leveling guide that ignores how often you're going to be in fights with players.

If your goal for endgame is just to get gear for your ele's pvp it won't take long at all since you don't need your full current tier BiS to do well in pvp. A capable player can stomp in pvp with pre-raid BiS from dungeons and crafting, with raid gear being just the icing on the cake to give you the edge. Really, only warriors are gear dependant enough to worry about getting the very best gear possible as fast as possible.
Then, when it gets to the point that hardcore raiders are getting their AQ and naxx stuff - when the power of the gear is getting noticable compared to dungeon gear - you can sit safely with the AQ catch-up gear and also get more pugs for tier 1 and 2. Pvp gear will also be out by then so you can gear up slowly with that too.

Still smarter than assuming a +def +armor and last stand spec is a dps spec IMO
But whatever

if you can't follow the conversation then why butt in?

thanks guys, appreciate it

Not that guy, but I read your shit and you're the one who seems to be perpetually confused.

What the fuck does the final boss have to do with anything, god damn.

at no point did he imply it's a dps spec though? "meters" could mean anything from healing, dps, or threat. Spergs in classic like the type he was alluding to were bottom of everything regardless of what they were doing because their autistic desire to be right/unique led them to throw away the actual optimal builds everyone else used for their own shit creations.

>in an MMO there won't be the same feel and experience that you remember
For many, there will be. There's a reason why the meme is "going home."

I quit MMOs (basically) for good after 3 months of vanilla wow, after having spent over 2 years on Everquest (raiding, etc.). At the same time I also left my hometown and started a real career. A couple years ago I set up my own private EQ server and invited a couple of friends and holy god damn even without anyone online it brought back a lot of positive memories. It was really fun to just roam around the world and see all the old zones. I even logged into the live servers for awhile to see how shit they were and found some random other players to chat with about the old days.

Meanwhile Vanilla WoW has the advantage of being a game that's actually fun to play outside of the MMORPG elements. Every class has lots of abilities and the combat is fast-paced. Maybe the PvP scene will be shit compared to release and raiding will be full of min-maxing faggotry, but frankly most of the high-end guilds at release had come from other MMOs and were already min-maxing the fuck out of everything. Meanwhile, on the positive site, WoW servers at release were overwhelmed by millions of literal retards who won't be there this time around.
