If it was like $99~$150, I'd think it would be a good deal. But, it's nearly the same price as an Xbone S. You can get an Xbone S with a drive probably for cheaper than the SAD version, if you look around online. Also, you're giving up one of the advantages the Xbone has over PS4 and that's a 4K Blu-Ray player.

Seeing as xbox has no actual exclusives since everything goes to windows 10 anyway, I see no reason to ever get another xbox, outside of playing with friends who own them.
Honestly the only thing that would make consoles worthwhile besides exclusives is if they would finally take advantage of technology and have games run at a stable 60 frames minimum with no drops

They're continuing the transition of the Xbox brand from consoles to games as a service, Game Pass and the lack of exclusives were the start of this, then there was the announcement of Live on Nintendo, Game Pass will probably become multiplatform soon after. I can't see Microsoft making physical games for much longer, so Xbox consoles will probably not have disc drives moving forward. Eventually, they'll probably stop making consoles. Microsoft probably figures Xbox can make more money as a service provider than a console manufacturer as there is less overhead (lower manufacturing and shipping costs, can sell off developers and liquidate staff). Also, unlike Nintendo and Sony, Microsoft is a '70s American software company and many companies from that time make most of their money on speculation - using brand image to satisfy shareholders and keep stock prices high. Rather than older companies like Nintendo and Sony which are valued on production, Microsoft is really not concerned they're selling few Xbox consoles as long as they can keep their share price high.
