Why did crouch-jump completely die all of a sudden? I haven't seen it implemented in a videogame since 2005

I have been curious for years after watching that video, is it actually possible to beat that game without crouch jumping? There's a guy on youtube who does "is it possible to complete X game without doing Y" and I sent him over 20 e-mails and the fucker still doesn't deliver.

Crouch jumping is something many gymnastics do, and like another user said, freerunners use it as well. It’s less friction to completely clear an obstacle instead of vaulting over it

Halo 5 still has crouch jumping even with the ability to climb on shit, using crouch jump let’s you move around faster and you can still shoot while crouch jumping so it is better in all cases to do so.

I like the idea of skill based movement but the whole thing with sliding and jumping to maintain momentum in titanfall 2 is kind of dumb.
But at the same time it feels nice to fucking style on people that can't do it.
