We aren't talking about what's practical, we are talking about what looks good. The hime cut is typically bland, boring and has no style. Some can pull it off decently but in general the bangs don't accentuate any good features of the face, and at worst look somewhat like a helmet.

It only looks good on asian girls, that are also already pretty to begin with.
No twintails are godtier when they actually follow gravity, and are in constant movement and changing sides. It's when they look too stiff, too protruding, or too big and puffy that they look like shit, like noire, serra and junko.
Also low hanging and/or braided twintails are perfection. Drilled ones are pretty shit though.
