You heard me. It has little to no art and what it does have isn't even good.

Every stick is different, with some having tighter actuation or diagonals than others. Most Korean levers naturally have round gates, and while better than octogates they still aren't as deep as a standard square found on a JLF. I don't play many charge characters but have adapted to the stick well enough to perform the input.

Built it a few months ago. Was really into Arcana Hearts before I got it and was planning to play Six Stars, but learned they released it unfinished. So I've been looking for something to replace it until it gets fully updated, but most of the modern fighting game I'm finding are stupidly simplified.

Either there are no stick movements for the specials or everyone has the exact same specials. It's irritating.

Octogates have poor diagonals, but are kinda like training wheels in some regard. They help with finding your orientation, but after using a standard square gate for a while you will become accustomed to the feel and positioning. Honestly though, just use what you feel comfortable with.

You're really just making it harder than necessary to properly hit the corners with an octagonal gate, in the long run you need to have enough control of the stick to able to do inputs without hitting the corners anyway so why block part of the available space.

Your friends is half right, almost all the pros use sqaure (hell most of them don't even mod their stick). Generally square is superior to octo, but if you're really struggling with square then there isn't shame using an octo. Ride that gate to your heart content.

I have a sanwa stick and the buttons are sensitive as fuck too. Are hori really more sensitive? I've been having trouble with accidental inputs and was thinking of switching.

If you need to rest your fingers, do so in the space between the rows. It is also a good habit to to hover those fingers over your throw or OS buttons.
