I played this game for the first time when I was like 21 years old in 2013 or something

probably not THE greatest game ever made, but personally in my top 5 of all time.

Protip. I bet you have never seen Citizen Kane either. I have, and it was not liked on release, either by critics or by the casual viewer. Only years later once the plebs forgot about it, did the kino patricians (educated film connoisseurs, average plebs were not allowed to have an opinion on this matter) finally manage to get it the praise it deserves. In gaming, the game most similar to Citizen Kane's ascent to greatness, is probably Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. Completely overlooked on release and forgotten about till years later. Dues Ex would also be a good contender.

So basically only people who haven't played OoT dislike it. It is what it is, this game does everything right. However for me Majora's Mask is the last good Zelda and everything is just downhill from there for Zelda and Nintendo in general in my opinion. That's why I'm a Sony fan I guess. I still plan on buying a Switch though. Want to play BoTW bad since some people rate it higher than OoT but I doubt I'll like any 3D Zelda more than Ocarina

What does OoT's release have to do with anything? OoT was praised to the high heavens on release. It's always been overhyped overrated trash. The fact is, the N64 was a bad console with a tiny library, meaning N64 owners pretty much all picked up and played OoT since what else was there to play. So by that very nature of not having many games, OoT became overhyped and overrated. Meanwhile, PC fags, Snoyfags, Segafags etc had shit tons of games to choose from, and people were divided into smaller groups. And as a result, no one game was able to pull the majority of the console userbase to it, and never became as overrated. Only FF7 came close and it was nowhere near as bad as the case with OoT.

30 minute NES releases, arcade games and 15 min indie shit releases don't count retard.

Oh here's another shit tier opinion presented as fact. I am sorry but as a huge RE fan, RE2 was the worst of the PS1 trilogy. And the N64 version was severely gimped, yet gets praised cause it added some meme extra's no one ever wanted.

RE3 > RE1 > RE2

RE3 is the best for tenseness and action and quick thinking and never feeling safe
RE1 is the best for slow burning horror, survival, conserving your supplies
RE2 was just a mix of the two, a jack of all trades and master of none.

The best PS1 games were a tie between Spyro 3, RE3, Oddworld Abe's Exoddus and Medal of Honor Underground.

Anyways the point is the N64 is probably the worst major console ever released and it has a pisspoor very small library of games all of which are terrible overrated.

You would see that OoT is clearly better, if only variable X was true.

How do you even go about determining a "best game" objectively? There's hundreds of genres and sub-genres with objective and subjective criteria for determining quality. There's no defined metrics of quality that will fit across every video game ever made, except maybe "how much fun do you have playing it," which is subjective and varies from person to person (and also Yea Forums would not accept "fun" as a valid argument).

I would define it based on things like how good the combat feels, the level design, and the overall presentation, which would include things like the quality of the music, graphics and art style, the story, etc. All of this only begs more questions; I would have to define what makes a good or a bad combat system for example.

This same site gives Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (the PS1 version) a 98, and GTA IV on PS3 a 98. It also says Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA V are 97's. Do you agree that these four titles are on a similar fun level?

PS3 lost a lot of exclusives like Valkyria Chronicles, Atelier Totori and other games to PC and other HD ports. Just like the PS2 did. I guess PS3 was also valuable for it's own HD ports of R&C trilogy, Jak trilogy, MGS HD collection, God of War collection etc.

It's certainly not a strong lineup. But id take it over the N64.
