Its thrust attack pulls enemies towards you, if you use it on a horsenigger you will dismount him.

in normal mode, the swings pulls people towards you and the thrust pushes them away, in the alt mode it's reversed

I want to get good at this game but I just cant. Also why does swinging your sword and using bows seem so slow and clunky? Few years ago for reenactments in full dress you could still swing your stuff very quickly with great force. But in the game it feels so strange.

Theres an option to just toggle that marker on at all times. Its honestly the best way to play, the game looks like shit when everyone looks the same.

It should be set to default that team colors are off and the team markers is enabled. The options are there but the fact that its an option means noone will do it because it could make enemies hard to identify if you arent spatially aware.

As fun as this sounds there are simply no good builds without bloodlust. That ability is single handedly the most broken thing in the game and the reason you can go 50/0 if you play it right.

Billhook, bloodlust and armor and you will top the leaderboards every time.

Weapons are 300-500 gold each, one game of Frontline should net you ~400, and playing Horde should get you approximately double that
It's the cosmetics that are really expensive

A full set of one type of armor (such as flutted) will set you back 15,000 to 20,000

Depending on where you are on the leaderboards 6 man horde gives 700 to 1500, 24 man gives 500 to 800, 64 man gives 400 to 600. Frontline can give up to 700 if you're MVP. Team/deathmatch can give 100 to 200.

The weapons are pretty cheap (300 -500), you can get that much from playing one match

The cosmetics are MUCH more expensive, partially because there's so much shit to customize (not only torso, but also arms, gloves, helment, etc) and also because some of them get very pricey (2k-3k gold, easy). Trying to build a whole set can cost tons and tons of gold

So there's a "grind" but not for gameplay purposes, more for just customization

They have to make stamina drain faster when you hold up a shield.

Perhaps more stamina drain the longer it's held up, encouraging people to actively block hits rather than just hold up a 180 degree wall.

Just make the stamina drain on block dependent on what is hitting the shield. A maul overhead should drain most if not all of the shield users stamina, for example. If they want to avoid this, they'll have to learn to chamber attacks they do not want to block, thus adding an execution barrier to using a shield.

Shieldfags aren't too bad to deal with in actual duels (unless it's rapier/shield, then it's cancer) the problem is shieldfags in other modes can just turtle, then move backwards while their allies run in and help them.

Most weapons will take 15-20 hits to knock a kite shield out of your hands, your buddies will arrive long before that happens. How are they going to kick you if you just press S when they freeze in place for 2 seconds?

If you know they're going to stab, why don't you chamber them?

You can, but because the rapier's stab has literally no recovery, he can stab again (thus chambering your chamber) before you can due to recovery, meaning his counter chamber goes through.

Stamina is disgustingly available in Mordhau. There's practically no way to run out of it unless you are doing something incredibly wrong (like bunny hopping or missing tens of attacks). They need to make everything cost twice the stamina it does.

Rising, crouched, riposte slashes to the knees with daggers is actually a pretty legit tactic.
Daggers are fun as hell even if they require a lot of effort.
Only thing that pisses me off is that big sword grug players can knock you back far enough if you parry an attack to completely miss even a forward spring attack.

as long as you have toolbox, blacksmith hammer, and the smith perk you're good to go, after that you can either go heavy armour, perk heavy, or choose a back up weapon ( i wouldn't recommend this because you can just pick one up on the battlefield) i run my builder with 2/2/1 armour and it works great

Which mode? For frontline it's great. Leg armor is overrated, if you let someone chop at your legs you were going to die anyway. Also great reach on the alt stab if you're holding a line, plus perfect for horse faggotry.

the range of the messer is nice because people can't see you, nor do they expect you, so you catch them by surprise with the swings
i won a few deathmatch rounds by smoking out locations and cleaning up whoever's inside

Discovered today that the best strategy is to do 3 armor on head and chest, but only 1 or 0 on legs. People never hit your legs and even if they do, weapons do less damage to legs than anywhere else. Frees up some points for fire bombs.

Stabbing isn't a problem. The weapons that stab good can't do anything else making them predictable. And unlike swings you have to be accurate with stabs. It's not that hard to end up missing if your enemy strafes at all.
If anything is unbalanced it's the people swinging around 2 handers. That's what 90% of players are using.
Even if there are 3 people ganging up on them they can just swing randomly like a maniac and end up winning. Especially if they have bloodlust and every random kill from their swinging heals them back to full, negating all stabs.

Except it does make sense because spears cost 10 points and don't do amazing damage. If you're right up close to a guy with a spear hitting him with an arming sword or something and complaining that his weapon is too effective, think about what you are using with the extra 8 points at your disposal.

Bastard sword + heater shield + 3 armor on each body part is a good starter class. Nice and simple.
Your stabs and swings do about equal damage so you can do whatever you want.
Blocking with a shield is easier than parrying while you get used to the combat.
Has a good medium reach and speed so you should be able to land some hits without fucking around with morphs and feints.
Maximum armor so you can hang around long enough to learn to fight.

I actually never use the catapult. I just can't stand TK griefers.
