>insane
>chinese ti
no, valve just learned who the real whales are

>overwatch league has spent over $500,000,000
>every team has to pay $20,000,000 just to be in the league
>the players make pennies and prize pools are like 50k per player
>the contract makes you sign away your likeness + your right to sue, forever, to activision

And get this: they are saying OWL is failing because of racism.

Attached: Untitled-1.jpg (815x885, 919K)

Jesus christ that image. Who in their right mind would sign this?

a starry eyed 18 year old. easily preyed upon by grubby lawyers

What is this actual garbage?

Attached: 1554941773491.gif (512x384, 1009K)

This is how ethical capitalism looks like.
I bet you get fairer terms if you make a deal with the devil.

what kind of retarded line of thinking is this? chinks could already participate in past TIs

even fucking 360 record deals aren't as predatory as this shit

Attached: af3.jpg (1080x1080, 56K)

The devil at least gives you a solid gold fiddle and not a measly 1,5k

i love how money has to be on the line for people to be interested in "e-sports"

>>the players make pennies and prize pools are like 50k per player
That's for the winners of the grand finals btw.

Median salary for Overwatch League is $75,000/year (for relocation to LA + 12-hour practice days)

>B-BUT IT WONT BE AS BIG AS LAST YEAR'S
EVERY YEAR WITH YOU RETARDS
HOW DO YOU NEVER LEARN?

Attached: frog3.jpg (494x494, 350K)

It's pretty much what truly separates competitive games played for fun (like your typical fighting game played on a parking lot over who buys the pizza) versus those people force themselves to play (eeeee-sports).

Don't forget it's live right now with an absolutely pathetic 90k viewers, with peaks of about 120k for the premier Overwatch tournament which Actiblizz and other huge investors dumped all those hundreds of millions of dollars into.

I also imagine they're pumping the shit out of those pathetic numbers by embedding the stream into their platform and as many websites as they can muster.

Attached: 1493939315871.jpg (245x245, 6K)

Well, to be fair to Blizzard and grubby lawyers, that's probably more than the value of an actual Overwatch Pro's worth.

ethical socialism removes your option to sign it.

>not playing
>not paying
>not watching
>feelsgood

>every team has to pay 20 million
Was that a typo?

>$75,000/year
>In LA

Basically living on the breadline wew.

Don't forget the people idling for skin currency.

Attached: 1497176112942.jpg (500x631, 97K)

Only because TI takes place in China this year, severely fucking over fans and the integrity of Dota's scene.

>Don't forget it's live right now with an absolutely pathetic 90k viewers

And here is the kicker: most of those are not even watching.

Overwatch League rewards you with cosmetic tokens for having the Overwatch League stream on. A huge number of the viewers have it open in a muted tab just to get tokens. The chat is perpetually dead.

Attached: poor little ellie.jpg (2377x871, 1.48M)

Retards have been doubting valves ability to make money for half a decade now. Legit pisses me off.

Nope. Organizations have to pay $20,000,000 to have a spot in the Overwatch League.

this is the first year I'm not going to get it I just can't stomach dota anymore I'm enjoying playing singleplayer games and I believe my neet life is coming to an end

Attached: 1527476288320.png (355x564, 473K)

no
>captcha: onions candles store front

>360 record deals
Are you talking about music licensing from back then?

Well obviously bobbys friends get a discount

the quarry will be settled

Attached: 1532301807347.jpg (277x296, 24K)

Nope, $20m signup. It's mostly a big ponzi scheme set up by ActiBlizz with loads of big name jews dumping money into it because they've been told how big esports is and probably think it's a guaranteed return.

Look at the owners of the teams.

Attached: 1554374402662.png (766x612, 41K)

based tony

I'm assuming sponsors take the brunt of the fee? What the fuck.

Oh wow just noticed Netease has a team, the guys Blizzard are making Diablo Immortal with.

Attached: 1520635083212.jpg (599x449, 23K)

I didn't buy last year's and changed back to sp games. I felt finally free. Good luck user.

no a type of record deal where the label's get a portion of the money artists makes from their brand Including live performances and merch sales handled by the band.

You can do it, user.

Oh yeah forgot to mention that as well.

This is "their" TI.
Also, Valve went all out on the rewards this year.

Not relevant because every state now is capitalist
If you want planned economy, you'll find it in corporations.

Here is your dungeon where you practice for 12 hours per day at minimum wage.
Don't try to unionize or we will kick you out on the street without paying for your flight home. You are scum, remember that. We WILL discard you if your performance drops.

Attached: premium OWL team house.jpg (1365x727, 65K)

>that guy whose desk is so fucked that it's hitting his knees

$500,000,000 sport

Mark Zuckerburg got fat, wtf?

>TI in china
>more money then ever before
Vavle and the rest will abandon the west in the next 5 years.

Are they in a basement?

>no windows
>zero decorations of any kind
>soulless cubicle for 6 virgins who believed the esports dream was real

A korean professional, Effect, trained in that particular team for a few months. He ended up developing severe suicidal tendencies and retiring (despite being one of the top players)

twitlonger.com/show/n_1sqrt32

I hate those team names why are they named like football teams and Atlanta esport venture sounds extremely fake

Attached: 1538196149124.png (542x775, 614K)

>all this money not spent on producing more Pharah porn
It's honestly disgusting.

Attached: tumblr_p9ykhfCYVM1v2ede9o1_1280.jpg (1280x1440, 185K)

The funny thing is they are named things like The Dallas Fuel and The Atlanta Ravens and The Seoul Niggers but they are all based in Los Angeles.

A dungeon

pharah is a cute aryan princess

Attached: pharah white.jpg (3110x2160, 1.4M)

It's an extremely lame attempt to sound like sports teams that fight eachother over where their team originates from even though it's 90% koreans anyway.

You've got to be joking

they're trying to use american sports structure and franchises which makes no fucking sense in a digital realm. It's part of why it's failing

Yeah, Insanely BORING to look at. Fuck you OP.

shame the game has the lowest skill ceiling right now

Attached: 1547751095952.jpg (720x888, 334K)

>Atlanta esport venture sounds extremely fake

It's a shell company. Do a bit of digging to see where the money is coming from.

Why the fuck is it so much higher this year? I thought this game was dying.

>go play OWL in a place built by Blizzard
>a fucking steelbeam fall on my head amd makes me a cripple because their chinese workers are chinese
>"lol here's 1500 bucks kid, good luck out there"
Jesus christ

Attached: 1526711771926.jpg (750x750, 188K)

What's disgusting is how brainwashed you are, get a grip.

overwatch is a clown world in and of itself

Attached: 1557214157627.png (706x626, 414K)

Holy shit, the only thing that's not in that shitty contract is selling yourself into sexual slavery

Chinks are more willing to spend what with the tourney being in China this year ontop of the goypediuym rewards being pretty good

How is Dota not dying? Everyone I know who used to play Dota (including me) has quit after 7.00

Attached: 1530686767400.jpg (381x391, 24K)

>minimum 50.000$ a year
wow that is really no money they must starve

What is that particular "The International"?

Where did you hear that? It better not be this place, because if you believe anything posted here without checking for yourself then you're retarded.

I glanced at it. The Axe skin where he punches shit looked cool but I wouldn't pay for 400 levels to get it.

fpbp

When the olympic selection committee rejected esports for being "too attached to corporations", this is exactly what they were talking about.

That's not bad anywhere but California or in a big city

>Where did you hear that?
The fact that it hit its peak 3 years ago and has been consistently losing players ever since.

>all this effort just to keep Overwatch relevant
>meanwhile, TF2 with zero updates still pulls 40k players concurrent hit a new peak last year
>this was supposed to kill TF2

Attached: 1477357411461.png (500x500, 267K)

The internet connection truly was the most cancerous thing to happen in human history.

Gaming would be better without internet.

Attached: 1549792778727.jpg (750x741, 82K)

do not underestimate dotards
long after valves death geriatric old men will be shouting slurs at each other in dota

Not only is it not dying, player counts have actually been increasing steadily over the last 6 or so months.
What I'm saying is, Autochess saved dota.

People started playing it again after autochess got popular.

TF2 very likely has higher playercount than overwatch at the moment.
That game is seriously mega-dead. My friends list of 500+ players (all added from overwatch games) never has more than 3-4 playing overwatch.

>tf2 hit a new peak last year
I thought they haven't received an update in almost two years?

overwatch subreddit has 2M subscribers m8.

>overwatch faggots on Yea Forums are literally r*dditors

Attached: 1391646010688.png (800x1200, 71K)

that's wrong retard
it was literally on 950k peak like 1 month ago

boards.fireden.net/v/thread/341956939/#341956939
Let's all come together and laugh at them

Attached: 1496610096980.jpg (240x240, 5K)

>52.5k
>take off ~5-10k from various sell bots, advert. bots and others
>take off another 5k from idlers
then we're down to 42.5k.
that is literally nothing in the world of multiplayer games. Tf2 have a core audience, sure, but it doesn't have anywhere near the players of a big multiplayer title

>reddit subscriber numbers
Talk about grasping at straws

People still play MOBAs? What the fuck

cope ponyfag

>as many people are playing Ark:Scamming evovled as people playing tf2

some people are too invested to leave

I believe in you fren. I know you can do it too it's my third year free of Dota.

Attached: fren deserves hugs.jpg (820x500, 90K)

dotards? you said this would be the international that icefrog kills himself because of, wtf

A communist and anarchist anthem

I quit dota after 2000 hours, it isn't as hard as you believe.

Just stop playing.

also it's a """global""" league where like half the teams are American and there's like 3 teams for LA alone

I am so envious of you two.

Last reportings Blizz said Splatoon 2 has more players didn't they?

Attached: 1551841566773.png (605x381, 187K)

They don't report players

cope harder shitwit

>statistics in my brain without a source told me so
off yourself schizo

Dota is eternal, it'll never die. The game's learning curve is deep enough for autists to spend 10k hours on it and community is less interested in other competing games that could fracture its numbers. If Dota is declining, it's likely because of stagnation and a bad patch.

Can you actually read?
It's limited to the scope of this esports garbage and their shitty video game, they can't use your name to sell butter.

a company owning the permanent rights to your face is not good in any capacity

>dota
>dying
>EVER
Dota has been around for a long ass time even before Dota 2, my man. The game is autism incarnate and people that love it will only play dota and nothing else.

>mfw overwatch cereal
>implying you won't buy mercy's butter

Attached: 1554886988962.jpg (501x585, 79K)

It means you get no royalties on any merchandise sold using your name. If you happened to become a big star you are fucked because it becomes impossible for you to try and profit from that success. Imagine you making $75k a year while your team owners are making millions from your name.

I stopped playing when my friends stopped playing and found other stuff to do. Free yourself from it. There are a lot of better places to spend your time on.

Eventually it'll happen to you to. I stoped playing during one of the first 7.xx patches, just didn't have fun, neither solo or with friends. I do still watch the TI Main Event but otherwise I have no Dota in my life anymore.
