It's playable

>all these Dragon's Dogma threads
>with the same image and the same simple questions
Of course it's playable, don't let the haters fool you. You just need to put a bit more effort into it.

>le paid shills may may xd

They're all playable but imo mage is for pawns only and pawns make shit warriors since everybody gives them a charge skill and they use that shit on goblins like retards

>but imo mage is for pawns only
isn't mage one of the stronger classes?

Are you saying you don't full piwer arc every goblin you see?

That's sorcerer. Mage has worse spells and worse stat growth so it's not recommended to use mage past level 10

You stagger every enemy you hit in the head who needs skills when you can jump

>xd
Go back.

Mage is almost entirely support. It has a few offensive spells but for true nukes you want a Sorcerer.

Attached: 9478b6255df1b1a0d1e72a3fdf338bd0.png (1800x2545, 3.63M)

Play it to unlock some augments then drop it forever, worst vocation in the game

which is the best?

>imo mage is for pawns only
This guy is a retard, don't make your pawn a mage, that heal isn't as useful as you think and that's all it has going for it, got sorcerer or go home and make sure to put holy enchant on it

>It has a few offensive spells
Mage actually has most of the offensive spells and got only two support spells that the sorcerer doesn't have. There is nothing wrong with mages using the lower and mid-tier spells in a fight.

Magick Archer or Strider but you will want augments from other vocations so play around, min maxing level gains for stats is for autisists and doesn't matter much in the long run

I play as warrior. I feel like guts

how the hell does getting vocations works in this game?
>play lvl 1 vocation to unlock specialized one
>then you change to other basic in order to unlock another specialization but you are deeper into game and you've got no gear and that vocation is shit so you can't progress and die in one hit

Money is really easy to come by. Just buy the new class gear.

I never said to have a mage pawn, retard. I just said that mage isn't a good class for the arisen.

>how the hell does getting vocations works in this game
Go to the inn or bitterblack isle, change vocation to whatever the fuck you want and buy some gear for it instead of running around with nothing like a retard because you don't want to spend some gold
Also if your dying its not the vocations fault, you're probably running into areas that are to high a level for you, this isn't skyrim where the whole world scales to your level

>says mage is for pawn only
>could have said don't use mage
>backtrack with lame ass "b-but what I meant was"

>Mage actually has most of the offensive spells
So where are all the offensive mages then?

>only two support spells that the sorcerer doesn't have
The big one is Anodyne, which is the primary reason anyone wants a mage over a sorc

>There is nothing wrong with mages using the lower and mid-tier spells in a fight
And? I never said anything of the sort. People take mages over sorcs for their support role, not because they're offensive magic masters.

May not be the best vocation but it’s really satisfying to crush mobs with a huge sword.

controller or kb+m

Warrior is dogshit against flying enemies and in BBI you will have a bad time. Also, you need to have a fighter pawn or make your pawn a fighter because of:

1 - Having a shield will allow him/her to deflect fatal blows and avoid damage in general, resulting in not dying or needing to use too much curative.

2 - With a shield they will always be able to perfect block even without the augment and they can trigger special effects from the shields, like that shield that has lower strenght and lightning damage.

3 - Dragon's Maw is a beast of a skill in solo and group fight + it has invincibility (or invulnerability) frames. So, if your pawn uses Dragon's Maw right when a Drake is breathing fire on his/her ass, he/she will not be damaged.

4 - He/She wil have high defense, so he/she will be more resilient against physical damage (which is more common than magic damage in the game).

5 - Sinew is a must have augment and having a pawn that can carry more stuff is always good.

6 - Since Dragon's Maw uses a lot of stamina, you give your pawn Mushroom Potage and he/she will heal the stamina of everyone in the party after 3 or 4 uses of DM skill.

It's fun for a while. Get it to max level for the skills

It's an action rpg. Unless you're using a ranged class, use a controller.

You'll spam the same attack for the whole game, and sometimes have a moment of fun with Arc of Deliverance

I ruined my first DD playthrough because I fell for the "le guts xdd" meme. I don't recall any part of Berserk where Guts just stands there for 10 fucking hours charging up doing jack shit as his party desperately tries to stay alive

>People take mages over sorcs for their support role, not because they're offensive magic masters
And? I never said anything of the sort.

>"mage is for pawn only"
>WHY U TELLIN HIM HE HAS TO MAKE HIS PAWN A MAGE
good job esl

I just restarted everything and while it's fun to play from a low level again, but I miss being able to play dress up with all my gear

>gets called out on being a retard
>e-esl
Based retard

Same, was also strider but playing warrior now

play as a loli warrior for the most fun experience

>gimp a melee fighters attack range, give them less stamina, reduce the amount of weight they can carry while also needing heavy armor, and make them easier for enemies to stagger
Anyone telling you to make a loli anything is a fucking retard, body size matters in this game

Good thing most of the early gear looks fantastic.

are there any advantages to being a loli?

you can crawl in goblin holes
you're cute

that's about it
t. weak gaymo

There are some secret areas and shortcuts larger characters can't access.

>you can crawl in goblin holes
so by being big you can't access all the content?
is there anything interesting in them? or just some chests?

You can fit into 2 small caves underneath the shadow forts court yard but they don't have anything unique in them, just some generic items, that's it
Oh I also forgot, if you're a loli you can't pick up other characters which means the escort quests take even longer than they need to

that's what most secret areas contain, really
just chests

>can't access all the content?
Please don't listen to retards that say this, it's literally 2 holes in the ground, it's not like some grand adventure is locked away if you aren't a loli
Oh and another thing, lolis don't run as fast and dont jump as high making other areas harder or impossible to reach

Why didn't you just switch vocations at the inn retard?

so I should just make pic related?

Attached: Gigachad.jpg (400x542, 23K)

I beat the entire game using nothing but Warrior.
That being said, once you learn the setups, you can trivialize alotta fights with BIG DICK DAMAGE and stunlocking

It's playable, but not viable for endgame stuff

no
don't listen to him
become the little girl and experience a true challenge

Like what? I rarely had trouble on BBI

>pawn only mean that vocation should be relegated to pawns
>somehow thinks it means that guy said YOUR PAWN NEEDS TO BE A MAGE

Get back to mean when you know how to properly parse a sentence

I'm doing this for free. Fight me

That or a big busty amazon with brown skin and silver hair if you want a waifu

Attached: 001.jpg (1269x1800, 365K)

So now you're sidestepping the issue of why mages are primarily a support vocation and not main damage dealers? Thanks for letting me know I won.

Like urdragon, Daimon or Death

>BIG DICK DAMAGE
Smaller than Strider, Magick Archer, Ranger, Assassin, Fighter, Sorcerer, and Magic Knight, and even Mage with HFB

No, you should make your pawn that.

Death I can see, but I didn't have any major issues with Urdragon or Daimon really.

I understanding where you're coming from, but the damage isn't that terrible. Yeah it isn't gonna be the same as Raining explosive arrows down on people, but its far from small damage

First time I hard this track was when I got ambushed by the minotaur. Good times. I should replay this game.

I wouldn't even mind if it actually were the shill boogeyman, I want DD2 so fucking bad but I sure as hell won't buy a switch just to buy DD again, I got it on the 360 and later on ps4
not gonna lie, I might get it on pc in the future because I got a semi decent laptop since, but that's all I'm gonna do to support the game in hopes of a sequel
if they're gonna make DD2 and it gets the budget and time like DMC5 did we are about to see some of the best vydia ever made

Attached: 30123735_1639376272850779_3706035290108854272_o.jpg (1920x1080, 154K)

>its far from small damage
No, it's proportionally the smallest damage in the game because of all the charging warrior has to do
Warriors will sit there for 5 minutes charging one big strike while a strider will cut through Daimon like a buzz saw in less than 30 seconds
That's why everyone says warrior sucks

pcgamer.com/capcom-couldve-made-dragons-dogma-2-over-devil-may-cry-5/

Am i the only one who makes my pawn a clone of my character?

The question was the viability of Warrior, Its not the best but its certainly usable and fun.

It plays depending on what you're fighting and what level you are, I think. If you go into BBI at lvl 1 it will play for every enemy encounter.

Are there any mods to increase the number of skill slots?

I mean a 3 legged stool is viable to sit on but everyone would prefer a 4 legged chair with a back

>wandering around Eradication Site
>night falls
>no Ferrystones
>hiding in an abandoned building waiting for sunrise with only lanterns for light
>mfw this starts playing
youtu.be/g9ayTa_dIqE

Attached: 1432351442555.jpg (960x720, 94K)

Heaven forbid people have different play styles and preferences other then the meta.

Who makes pawns? Can you impregnate them?

>m-m-muh meta
That's a lame excuse and you know it because we aren't even talking about what's meta, we are talking about every single option being better in every single way
I don't know why warrior fags live in this delusional state and insist its better than it is, saying "yeah warrior is fucking trash but I play it for extra challenge" is a reasonable response but not this inane defense force that crawls out in every thread

There was never an issue. However it is wrong that most damage spells lie within the sorcerer vocation. And I never said that people take mage pawns for their offensive capabilities. Mages still have a selection of attack spells and even the simple fireball spell can contribute damage even in the late game. Mage is only a pure support vocation if you deliberately do not give your pawn any attack spells. And I think that would be dumb. You don't need a mage constantly casting healing or magic weapons.

>don't run as fast/jump as high
half true and outright false. walk/jog is slower, but sprint is equal. Smaller characters do have less but can tickle ogre crotch while they run under the legs.

>do have less
thanks brain, meant to say "have less reach"

so after main game you just run through the everfall right? do you just do quests in there till level 80 or so and then do BBI?

>Who makes pawns?
God

>YOU'RE HAVING FUN WRONG

Attached: 1552408995135.jpg (538x534, 24K)

Try to visit most of the rooms. Level itself doesn't matter that much, but you will gather some helpful items and it's a good preparation.

in case the actual article is basically saying the same thing as the title in the link, I know itsuno had to choose which one he wants to make, but I'm fairly sure DMC5 was a success, so I'm still hopeful they're gonna let him make DD2

Mages are almost entirely support in that even if you spec them for offensive magic, someone else is gonna be doing the bulk of the damage. For mage elemental spells you mostly want them hitting for weaknesses or inflicting debilitations rather than straight up damage. All of that is support.

>point out exactly how people can find it fun
>REEEEEEEEE NO YOU MEANT THIS
What is it about "warrior" that draws in the biggest retards no matter what game its in

I would and do use the everfall to farm up a bunch of wakestones for BBI, never know when Death or who knows what else will show up to fuck you, usually at exactly the wrong time

minimal input, smallest usable skill list

basically there is hope for DD2. Can't wait to hear that wolves hunt in packs

Reminder that warrior class long sword fags are brainlets and shegoat is the worst waifu

Attached: Griffith and the band of hawks laugh at you.jpg (693x535, 201K)

OP clearly asked if Warrior was playable, not a written essay on why eveything else is better. Let the man play what he wants

>can only use 3 skills at a time
what were they thinking

Why do DD threads consists of two faggots shitting up the thread with their inane bickering? Shut the fuck up and get a room already.

Itsuno has also been vocal about wanting to do Rival Schools 3, so who knows with that guy to be honest. A lot of people are presuming DD2 is a certainty but I'm not getting my hopes up until we see something concrete.

Hey buddy, I think you've got the wrong thread, the leather club's two blocks down

That it's usually only a couple faggots makes these threads better than the vast majority of other threads on Yea Forums.

We wouldn't have a problem if loli and warrior fags learned they aren't wanted and to stay quiet
Those are the types to get BRINED

how good is magick shield warrior, and is it viable

>ree stop talking about the game
These threads would probably be dead if it weren't for them.

Probably
>this is a specialized class that does a few things and it should be reflected in his range of skills
>but let's give him some very effective basic attacks
And
>all the other non-magical weapons also one have three skills, let's keep it at that
I'm glad they stick to it, if they listen to the whiners warrior might get some kind of arm-canon or whatever dumb shit they requested to offset his weakness in a game that is about having a party of four people covering each others weaknesses and strengths.

I love debating DD with other faggots, most times it's fruitless but every so often I learn something new.

Attached: 1552232079741.jpg (788x838, 170K)

This was also the same game where Assassin has augments to go solo.

didnt he basicly say after that "well it seems pretty clear which game I do next *wink wink*"

Still mad about how close this game got to being an absolute adventure simulator masterpiece

Actual personalities and banter with pawns, better writing and it'd be goat

>Gransys is made up of the capital, one fishing village, and a bunch of ruins
>Julien says Voldoa and Hearthstone are worried that it'll become ascendant if the dragon is "defeated" again, hence Hearthstone only sending a she goat as aid
Just how shit are the other countries?

Newfag here, is mystic knight worth it? How would you rate vocations from best to worst?

Is that a shegoat

good as something to end up as later on in the game, but playing nothing but will leave you lacking stats and augments.

>caring about stats with BBI
augments are a very good point though as it's worth getting the ones you need for any class you decide to end up with

Isnt that what it's supposed to be though?

You have to consider that people will not start in BBI with level 60. Switching to MK immediately after reaching Gran Soren can lead to a lackluster experience. The argument that BBI gear will solve all problems only works for BBI itself.
That said, playing some sorcerer and warrior, alternatively getting some augments from fighter and you are good to go.

I just finished the game, immediately started NG+ on Hard. Decided to finally access the DLC, holy shit, you guys weren't memeing, it's damn difficult. I'm at level 50 btw.
Any tips?

Attached: 1555591289900.jpg (342x342, 9K)

Does Hard mode seem kinda easy to anyone else compared to normal? I mean sure enemies do more damage. But you get more exp and more gold which allows you access to much better gear and faster level gains. While with normal it seems like you need to make more important decisions in regards to what gear you need.

You'll be fine once you get yourself some BBI gear. You and Olra are going to become very close.

Get better gear and level up more.

>tfw started hardmode at lvl 150 with lvl 3 bitterblack weps and I 1shot everything

>I'm at level 50 btw.
Cringe

Hit enemies while avoiding being hit

What the fuck does that even mean?

If you're a sorc I recommend farming Garm as they can be petrified for easy xp. Also did you make a copy of the flower that Quina gives you that gives you double xp? If so then run around with that and you should be able to level up quickly.

Fuck griffins

Are the cursed items random? Like, I find a cursed item in the same place between NG's and in one playthrough I get a ring and in the other a weapon.

Her NAME is MERCEDES you VIPER

Attached: 1010228.png (1146x1304, 663K)

Bosses always drop some kind of cursed item, level of the item is chance, but chests loot is random. Chests in Daimon's room will always give you level 3 cursed items.

Those chests only drop level 3s on BBI 2.0 IIRC and while the drop rate is very high it's not 100%. Sometimes you'll get Perfect Rift Crystals instead. I usually save outside the chest room and godsbane if I get RC.

>Switching to MK immediately after reaching Gran Soren
that's why I agreed with you on getting the Augments you need before switching.
If anything pre BBI is when you should care even less for stats as equipment and planning is what will get you through the game since stat gains are way too small to make a difference. BBI is when munchkins can take there assassin with god tier equipment and maxed out attack to rape the final boss in seconds. And even then it's over kill.

Also forgot to add that the item you recieve from your cursed item is dependent on you and your pawns class. For example, if you want a ring that affects your skills as a warrior, then make sure that both you and your pawn are red classes. Hybrid classes fall into both colors respectively so if you want a smaller random pool for items, then change your class before purification.
Forgot about this, its been awhile since I've played so I'm kinda fuzzy on chest loot in BBI.

MK is a hoot. You can be aggressive and play it "traditionally" (block parries are very satisfying) but there's a really silly way to play it that involves buffing up for a bit and unleashing a stupidly fun barrage on big enemies

Attached: 20160402000934_1.jpg (1920x1080, 366K)

Some chests have a set chance for spawning level 2/3 BBI cursed items. The wiki has maps that show which ones those are.

ironic given the true newfaggotry and reddit here is you not picking up that he was doing it ironically as is commonplace on Yea Forums

try to lurk more friend, it will save you the embarrassment
