I'd be embarrassed of this game too with graphics like that. They could get away with it on the 3DS, but IS clearly needs help on future games if they want to stay 3D. The only reason there wasn't this much complaining when FE9 and 10 looked like shit is that exponentially less people were paying attention.

Nintendo's been dead quiet on every front. Mario Maker 2's going to be a much bigger game than TH, comes out in a month and half and we still only have a single trailer for it from 3 months ago. If their E3 isn't massive it's going to look seriously suspect how quiet they've been this whole year.

feh is still making undeserved bank, but it's not doing as well as it used to. Towards the end of 2018 it lost a non-trivial portion of it's playerbase. Since then IS has shifted towards gouging the remaining whales which didn't recoup the losses but seems to be keeping the game stable at a lower level.

That's because the character designer is less restricted for the NPC. Looks like the higher ups at IS told her to make the playable characters wear a uniform because of the school setting and it ruined everything since that means no unique color schemes or designs for the characters.

Yes a lot of flaws seem to come from obviously terrible decisions. Fates' story could have had so much potential and it turned out to be utter and complete trash. I'm still salty about it even though I like the characters in Conquest and some of the Birthright ones because of some specific supports, and the character design was great in this game.

the game is currently in feature creep hell, imo. Too many auxiliary systems that do nothing but add overhead. Blessings are the worse offender and were a terrible fucking idea to begin with, but IS has gone all-in on them so there's no going back as this point.

The past three FE games all broke 1 million, with Awakening and Fates likely having broken 2 million by now, and with FEH being Nintendo's most profitable mobile game.

I think people are forgetting that the old GC games were equally ugly for their time. FE is not a series that should ever be 3D or on consoles unless it has a massive budget which it won't have because it doesn't sell that well.

This game was planned back in what, 2017? A budget, a studio to do cutscenes, an artist, and a system was decided back then, and Fire Emblem Heroes was just announced. No one expected Heroes to be a multimillion smash hit, so they were playing it safe by giving it a low-to-standard budget for a AA game. Course, once people realized how popular Heroes was, it was too late; development has already begun. Here is the results of said average budget. If you want a high quality FE game, wait two-three more years; it will most likely be the Binding Blade remake.

They had the opportunity to start fixing things back in April with the summoning changes. A demotion of old 5* exclusives and regularly moving fodder units to a f2p banner using common currency would have removed bloat and kept people happy. They introduce so much skillcreep it would have done absolutely nothing to their revenue.

Everyone's eyes in this game look off for some reason.

It's the combination of very tiny pupils with little to no shading on the iris. You can have one or the other and still look fine, but combining the two get you this "soulless" look.

Even then nobody who plays the games cares, everyone just turns off animations anyway.

I really think Art style is what hurts 3H so much, but the biggest issue I have with this animation is how much hair moves. it's like one big clump but they make it move so fucking much.

Not sure why but i'm not excited for the game at all. The new gameplay changes and elements look interesting but everything else is meh.

The sticking point is that from what we were shown so far most of the characters designs are very plain and boring. I miss the unique outfit designs. The cut-scenes look terrible and the bland ass art style doesn't help either. Why does the cut scenes in Awakening and Fates look better?
