Regardless I'd be completely down to save aerith. The best scenario is to let her die, and really twist the knife. Then let us resurrect her later in glorious fashion. Complete with romance options, letting the piece de restitance be going back to her mothers place and letting that poor woman see her daughter again, who she thought had been killed in a horrible fashion.
