It's exactly the right amount of rated. Half of Yea Forums kind of likes it. It's an almost cult-classic halted from going fullblown by derivative design choices and a lack of vision that rightfully bar it from the top tier ranks.
You could get a more aptly and justly rated game if you tried.

I can't stress this enough how good Darkwood is. It tickles exactly the same part of my brain as Stalker does. My first night in the former is one of the most terrifying experiences I've had in a video game. Anyone who hasn't played the game yet, I encourage you to play with limited lives (not the ironman mode) and going in blind, without knowing anything about the events, items or such.

The story is fun enough in a cheesy way and the setting/world is great, as well as the radio. The gameplay is very mediocre though.
On a side note, what the fuck was up with that Emma Stone appearance. I guess she wasn't that famous back then but still. Felt like she was going to be a main character and as I recall she was in like two missions and then disappears.

Apart from possibly killing Dogeyes, it's part of the idiom "let sleeping dogs lie," which means not to disturb something that might end up being a problem if you do disturb it. Wei did the exact opposite of that and interfered with the Sun On Yee's infernal affairs, and he ends up losing a lot
