That's not a controversial opinion, just a bad one. Maggie was a straight fucking downgrade from Liz, and the Velvet Lolis only barely manage to rival my elevator wife by virtue of being fucking adorable. 3 = 5 >>>>>> 4 for Velvets. Marie isn't a real Velvet, so I won't even consider her.

I can see why you would think that, but I disagree. Margaret > Elizabeth > Lavenza > Belladonna > Justine > Caroline.

She's easily the sexiest. The others are very prone to emotion while Margaret is very cold and stoic. I think I like her for all the reasons TP Zelda is my favorite Princess Zelda.

I'm a Reifag, so I won't talk shit on preference for stoics, but I feel that Maggie lacks any meaningful depth behind the cold exterior. She's just kind of a garden-variety kuudere. She's cold, then she likes you, because good job you fused the thing. Liz has that delightful quirkiness to her, and the odd voice. It really makes her feel like an inhuman being. Maggie just feels sorta bitchy.

As mentioned, just makes me wanna break her harder. People called TP Zelda bitchy too. Same case.

This, I was just disappointed that I lost the twins that I really liked

I like her demeanor and being the mature sister, who's still subtly naughty herself. I especially like that she calls Yu a manwhore, so there's upfront honesty in their relationship. And I liked the kiss and her original slightly blonde hair color setting her apart from the other modern Velvet siblings. While minimalistic,she still has an arc, where she starts saddened by loneliness but then grows to understand why Elizabeth left and finds peace.

it's not like there's much going on with the twins to begin with, they're extremely one-note cardboard cut-outs even by Persona standards (at least they have a plot-related excuse for it I guess) but it doesn't feel like much from them even carried over onto Lavenza

It's tough to tell, since Lavenza only got like three lines anyway. Royal better expand on her significantly.
