It takes time to plan and set up meaningful DLC content that hasn't been planned pre-launch and this used to the be standard for the industry, instead of gutting content out during main dev in order to sell back later.

Now, whether or not the higher ups will ever give the go or not is an entirely separate matter. But the possibility for DLC is not completely written out and the position DMC5 is in right now is within the norm for videogames (or at least what used to be the norm).

Also as an aside, Capcom have explicitly moved away from their Special Edition/Turbo Edition/Super Edition ways.
Not even Monster Hunter, their big dick mega cash cow, is using that structure anymore, nor is bloody Street Fighter.
For those two series to not follow the re-release model but DMC does, we'd have to be living in some topsy turvy fucked up crazy world

But the metrics they would be looking at for DMC5 are entirely different to SFV or MHW because as you said, those are continuous games. Comparing their retention rates and twitch viewers is silly. They also have other single player games they can look to in order to figure out what the rate of returning players thanks to DLC is, see RE7

Honestly as a Vergil mark I'm tired of having Vergil slapped as playable character extra with enemies and non unique bosses not tailored to his moveset and playstyle. In 4SE they made Vergil obnoxiously overpowered to made up with the fact that the enemies are not tailored to him. Just look at his match up against Blitz and Berial on harder difficulty. Running around shooting summoned swords is not exactly thrilling gameplay. And don't get me started on DMC3 roster of bullshit enemies like Fallen, Gaygoyles, Dullahan etc all of which are tailored to Dante.

Vergin Downfall is literally the worst part of DmC. Not even the proper campaign work for him, Vergin has 1/5th of Vergil 4SE's moves because part of the budget goes for the level design and 1 or 2 unique enemy design, plus that cheap ass cartoon comic cutscene.

Asscreed run on the same engine and some reused assets but completely new protags, settings etc. DMC5 base game on REngine is so good that I don't mind some reused assets. The 60 bucks pricepoint would allow for actual cutscenes, mocap and actual new enemies, rather than slapping a budget Vergil into DMC 5 with no story and no unique boss.

Not every DMC game needs to be build from the ground up like DMC 3, DMC4 (which shoulder the burden for MT framework) and DMC5 (which requires massive rework on 1st person REngine). There's no need to reinvent the wheel anytime, if the wagon ain't broken might as well get some decent mileage out of it.

BP gets very tricky towards the end. DT management becomes very important, you'll have to prioritize damage and kills above style, but still manage to be stylish enough to fill the DT gauge.

Speaking of gitting gud; in DMC4 I used to watch combo videos to learn how to play better.
But last time I checked DMC5 vids, everyone seemed to be obsessed with beating up infinite health mobs in the Void, abusing Faust with Dante, and blowing all 8 Nero's breakers in a single combo.
Really shitty and weak combos for someone who wants to improve his practical playstyle.

Nah, Dante's too overused and his personality changes too much.

Game has alot more issues then Yea Forums will admit, this place hated DmC so autistically that 5 could have shit in their mouths and they would praise it.
Level design is worst in the entire franchise.
Dante feels tired (not cause he's aged) character wise. Nothing new to say or do, just going threw the motions.
Story was pretty underwhelming, and they missed opportunites to actually have some emotional moments (everything with Virgil and Nero)

She didn't like people were literally tracing over her panels for porn and shit. She does't care about fujos because she is one, although she doesn't do shota shit as far as I know.

Seriously? I mean Artemis definitely hit alittle harder and they have more life but I felt nothing. Goliath was weaker DMD between that and SoS with no DT. Artemis is like SoS Artemis with DMD AI. Cavvy is like slightly weaker DMD with less life and damage.

The bird felt close to DMD but the pattern wasn't quite as aggressive. Really the only one I have trouble fully making out is Vergil. He felt like DMD life regen/moveset but the rest was a mix of DH/SoS stuff.

Why are people saying you have to parry him? Are you autists really incapable of learning actual punish windows/boss patterns and whiff baits? You can use them on any boss in the game. Even without RG even without parries Cav is insanely methodical. All of his swings besides the quickest can be swung on then trickster dodged before it reaches you.

DMC5 is by no means flawless but it did what it needed to do as an action game. Have such good combat/enemies to use it on that people forget all its faults. DMC3SE/NGB are the best overall packages with Bayo 1 behind it slightly. But games like DMC5 are fine.
