Why do you need "our" approval? Some people dont put icons on their desktop because they rather have a clean wallpaper. Others have icons on their desktop to add onto their wallpaper as decorations, or just for accessibility. Neither is wrong to have, unless you're a disorganized fucktard who has icons all over the desktop (in this case yes, a folder to organize multiple shortcuts/icons would look better)
