It sure as fuck wasn't something we've known about since Blizzcon.
Why are retards only going "WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS RETARDED" Now when it's been a thing we've known was coming?

When I was siting there pulling mythic star augur and realized that none of the grind I did to get to that point was worth it.

Cata

Master looter was the straw that broke the camels back for me. I've played casual for years but I'm still part of a mythic raiding guild because they're my friends. When they started raiding Ulduar I expected I could join for normal/heroic like usual to see the raid but the raid leader asked me to sit out because it would be a problem for the mythic team if personal loot randomly decided to give me some gear I didn't want or need and couldn't willingly forfeit.
So basically Blizzard's grand plan to make loot fair for everyone meant I couldn't play with my friends anymore.

Honestly I've never understood a decision less than the mater looter change. I hate titanforging but I could bear it, this is what killed the game for me.

When the community kept accepting shit and defend blizzard over any form of criticism.

Getting CE for Jaina.
And then realizing that a 2 man raid had star auger mechanics, also that you had to have 13 warlocks to kill the first boss was the dumbest thing ever.
I mean seriously, who in their right fucking mind wants to do 1 month of prog on a 2 boss raid, just to get CE for a 2 boss raid? Especially one with fucking STAR AUGER MECHANICS.

Why the fuck didn't they just make it so everyone gets their own loot, period.

Why the fuck didn't they leave it as was?
Split raiding is STILL happening with personal loot.

what's wrong with it

Go outside homie

Legion. The expansion itself was okay-ish for the direction WoW has gone in but:
>the gimmick is a super special artifact weapon
>everybody has one and a great many have the same one you have
>you are dumped into an order hall to maximize seeing the people that have your same damn weapon

They could have tried to transmog other people's weapons client side to hide it? I dont' know. It just made me realize that the game doesn't want you to talk to people or even acknowledge that they are existing beside you in a world. It had finally done away with any aspect of basic roleplaying.

Couple that with the shitty storytelling and making its universe so small minded instead of vast and epic. It does nothing for me anymore.

Aren't all gnomes fucked up little midgets like this though

The whole class order thing was just trying to copy Job quests from XIV.

Just looked up wtf split raiding was since I haven't played for years, yikes. Surely just having guaranteed tokens per runs is preferable to that shit if they insist on making changes.

why would they make this, it looks like an amputee with robot limbs

still playing. i don't care about wolrd building, i don't care about transmogs, i don't care about shop mounts.
All i care about is the mythic raiding environement, and it never failed to deliver so i keep playing.

world of warcraft is the only game that manage to make a coop competitive PvE environement

>anime tiddies bad
>disgusting gnome pedo mutilations good
blizzard is fucking nasty

Bullshit, plenty of other games do it just as well or better. Check out XIV for an example of a game with far more interesting raids and classes.

I don't know about gnomes but I'd love to kick Warwick Davis in the head. Just take a few steps run up then catch him with the full force of my steel capped toe under his chin, send that little faggot flying through the air.

Job quests in WoW would be cool to have to try and immerse yourself better for the character and class. If anything they were trying to copy the artifact quests XIV had but failed to find what made the artifact quests special.

>If you haven't yet, why not?
I still have fun playing the game.

My guild fell apart and I didn't have anyone to play with. Trying to join a new guild and prove myself to their inner circle cliques was literal hell. Drooling my way through LFR just wasn't the same.

In wrath, guild disbanded due to lack of recruiting pool on my server and blizzard started the dumbing down of player skills (Was playing affliction, they made UA and Immolate mutually exclusive and bundled siphon life into corruption), so after briefly considering joining a new guild I ultimately decided to quit. Had an assload of gold that I gave to guildies which I probably should've just sold with the character.

Now I've been pulled back into a vanilla private server and am preraid gearing.

>friends raided late night and i didnt want to be tired as fuck for work every other day
>no interaction with people in dungeons
>dailies were boring

my friends only logged on to grind azerite and raid and there was no reason to make new ones in bfa

How?

Became a disgusting wagie and realised wow was already a job

Like most normal people I play through an expansion and have no desire to play the same repetitive content over and over and over and over and over and over.

WoW is not a bad game, but it's not worth wasting your life on, faggots.

I stopped at the end of WotLK because I couldn't pay for my subscription. Was bummed out about not being able to play but in retrospect I'm really glad I'm free from this trash genre

Thought Legion was good but BfA (which is irredeemable shit) made me realize how bad Legion truly was
>All of your stats simplified to the maximum
>Your class power imbued within your weapon that gets thrown away next expansion
>WoW villain power creep hit its peak here
>Their idea of "class identity" was less about making roles feel unique and more about giving us mini-garrisons

Oversimplification killed it for me. Shit like class trainers gave you a legitimate reason to visit other towns and gave you a better feel of reward due to the trials you would have to go through to get there. I HONESTLY believe that they are losing new subscribers solely because by focusing purely on endgame, they're making early-to-mid leveling an absolute slog. Those zones used to be fun at one point in time.

BFA unironically killed any hope I'll ever have for the game. I've always jumped in and fucked around with friends every now and again.

However, BFA was so awful, it's safe to say I will never touch the game again.

Attached: 1478293383821.png (527x300, 153K)

I'm a casual player and BfA is just meh. I've got allied races to level and shit to do still so I'm not feeling like I want to quit right now. I'll stop for awhile when I'm bored and come back later, been doing that since WotLK.

It just sucks. It has since WotLK. You listened to casuals too much.

Attached: 6ahOpeT.png (1920x1080, 2.87M)

First boss of the new raid has it to.

I always hear that WotLK was the beginning of the end, can somebody give me a quick rundown as to why?

When I realized running Black Wing Lair for the 100th time was not very fun any more and that there were other video games I could be playing.

>Random Dungeon Finder

oh shit i actually forgot about class trainers
>hit a new level
>either slog my ass back to town to learn more skills or keep going until i get stuck
>sometimes i dont even have enough gold to learn skills
>getting that first mount and feeling like i earned it

the game is so trash now NOTHING feels earned

The classes got dumbed down, raids got dumbed down, loot tokens were in full force, phasing was implemented, etc.

for some reason I thought this started in cata but I agree wholeheartedly

Dungeons and raids, same as always.

i remember using that shit in the back end of wrath and in cata

>que for dungeon
>get teleported there
>nobody says A SINGLE WORD
>no cc needed
>no communication

it was almost depressing

Wotlk raids still had more mechanics then BC and classic

>What made you decide to free yourself from WoW?

WoD, my guild didnt enjoy it and died. I stuck around as long as i could for some friends, but doing archaeology quests and garrison weeklies killed any joy for the game. And no social interaction between the players anymore.

Ulduar did. Maly forced you to play lol3button, 3drake just made things harder.

What makes BfA the last straw when it's about on-par with every expansion post CATA? What's the big thing with BfA that is causing people to leave that wasn't in Legion?

Everything became easier during Wotlk. People opted for convenience over hard work, which is what made WoW immersive and fun. If you were geared and Max level you had to work for that shit and it showed. It put you above the normies and the casuals. Then those faggots complained.

First they introduced dungeon finder - and it murdered any sense of the community that server had.

Then came everything else. The game just holds your hand now. Nothing is really that hard or time consuming like it used to be

Attached: WoWScrnShot_082108_224412.jpg (1024x768, 368K)

There were genuinely people who actually couldn't handle the Maly rotation. It's fucking astonishing. You even get to practice it outside the instance.

i haven't payed for WoW time in what... 6, 7 years?

i literally have my own WoTLK private server set up for myself with GM powers and everything. If i want to mindlessly grind I'll do it in there for free.

Every class has progressively felt less fun to play with each expansion since and including WoD. I consider BfA to be worse than WoD because in WoD playing your class could still be somewhat fun, there was just very little content, in BfA there's an abundance of content but the classes all feel terrible to play in my opinion.
Granted this might be because I've seen these classes at their zenith and being aware that I'll never get to play those again just completely kills any interest I could have in the game

Maly was a risk and it failed why they never brought it back but don't act like the raids were worse actual content wise then BC. Spamming shadow bolt to not do anything for 9 seconds because of how threat worked was real engaging. Even more so when I didn't have to go dodge anything while doing it.

Attached: 1555293014967.png (352x315, 260K)

I left when they fucked up the Chaos Bolt visuals.

Rep grind

My friends wanted me to play Mabinogi with them instead.

It was implemented at the end of WotLK so a lot of people attribute it to Cataclysm.

Im playing a wotlk server right now and its just like retail, faceroll heroic queue anywhere dungeons

Imagine

Don't play a boring spec then, goofus. Affliction gets to manage a constantly changing rotation of like 10 spells. Aside from Ulduar, TBC absolutely had better raids. It's lows are higher than Wrath's and its highs are higher than Wrath's.

The thing that got me to quit is when they made model changing harder to do. I have a list of other complaints about WoW now but the thing that made me snap was not being able to make the various female models a little more curvy.

I haven't even bothered to look back since I quit. Now I play Warframe.

I want to get into Warframe but it's the most autistic farming game of all time

>because of how threat worked
You mean not everyone having a threat reset ability?

Brainlet answer. RDF extended dungeon life by a lot. The game also was not casual in early Cata, and the difficulty of heroics caused many people to quit. It wasn't until the final patch of Cata, 3.3 where the real cancer was introduced, LFR and the general nerfing of all content in the game. LFR's existence caused them to start designing the casual part of the game around it, starting in MoP where you had horrible shit like the Legendary cloak introduced which funneled EVERYONE into LFR whether they wanted to raid or not.

Nigger I was talking about black temple illidan fight exactly when I was talking about that you couldn't just g affliction like you can you can now. If you wanted to you had a set place. This is why raiding today is so much better. Mythic unnat will go down as one of the best bosses in WoW if not MMO raids because of how solid it is.

>What made you decide to free yourself from WoW?

Three things:
>A girl that I was dating took the game way too seriously, and she basically ruined her life with the game. One day I came home from work to see her in her gaming chair in her dirty pajamas, not bathed, and trash and empty food containers all around her, and it was like I saw her completely different.
>One update, I logged on to see that they completely changed the appearance of the equipment my character wore. It wasn't a big deal at first, but it got me thinking about how despite the hours and days of gameplay I put in to the game, it could never truly be "mine", and they could change things at a whim. It was only more frustrating when the next update, they made my spec almost unplayable for a brief time.
>Eventually found an MMO that catered much more to the specific things I was looking for in a game. Overall, the game was worse "quality", but I really liked the small community, the variety in content, and the general gameplay of this other game. Eventually I became reacquainted with single player games, and since then I've never looked back.

High end raiding has been fucking trash since wod the fuck are you talking about?

That's why I like it. Its a free game where I can grind at my own pace and never feel like I'm falling behind like WoW or the shitty Korean MMOs I have tried.

I dropped it when it became obvious to me that they're not hiding the fact that the game is just a bunch of Skinner boxes. Obviously it's an MMO so the intent from the start that you keep playing all the time, Maybe it was just being too young to realize it, but it didn't feel that way in the past. The endless stream of "You did the thing!" moments stopped feeling good.

Also seeing item levels become a built-in factor of the experience - that felt like the most cynical thing ever. It was one thing when it was an exterior addon that players elected to use; it's another when the devs themselves decide to just factor it into the main experience, and then use it as a cheap method for gear improvement. Getting an item which literally just adds ilvls to your armor didn't feel like an achievement at all.

WoW has been bleeding subs since WoD, BfA just gets shitposted a lot harder, especially after everyone pretended Legion was good. That and even the most dronelike fanboys have to stop lying to themselves at some point. I'm actually amazed that both Assmongo and Nixxiom stopped playing this shit, even tho Nixxion still can't be honest about his feelings towards this shitheap of a game.

>Skinner boxes
Life is a Skinner box.

>mabinogi

comfy: the game
i remember the combat sucking hot ass and i didnt care because there was so much more to do

Tanks not generating more based on spec or talents

The same reason I quit. There was no real payoff in the end of the day

Attached: 1556431111869.png (500x500, 311K)

>especially after everyone pretended Legion was good

i still think M+ was a great addition. challenging endgame content for people who dont want to raid

While wow is shit nixxiom has gone full faggit trying try hard viking now its sad

Legion got good with content patches. I imagine the same will happen with BfA. Only major issue with BfA is class design is super boring.

Uu'nat is seriously one of the worst tuned fights this game has ever had, with almost no thought put into class viability for it.

>Guild basically broke up and logging in for raid was pretty much the only time I was on aside from busting out the weekly stuff (again in part for raids)
>Dailies are boring and dumb
>No sense of community anymore and nobody ever talks or does fun shit anymore
>PVP is shit
>BFA in general is pretty boring

Attached: Depressed Professor Utonium PPG.gif (412x279, 942K)

>especially after everyone pretended Legion was good.
We weren't pretending though

Wow is basically free now since tokens. So is every other Blizzard game for the next few years. Sure I don't play as much as I used to but its still entertsining enough.

The third raid tier, trial of the crusader, was the first major introduction of content skipping
the 5 man dungeon dropped gear equal to the previous raid tier
before that there was a progression through raid tiers, but ever since then each raid/content patch was invalidated by the next

WOD

Mythic+ was fucking garbage. WoW needs LESS difficulty options, not more. They didn't even add anything to the game, just like all the other difficulty levels. And even if M+ was a good addition that doesn't make Legion a good expac.

What content patches? Legion had the same barebones patches that plagued the game since Cataclysm.

Yeah, I guess some people really are retarded. Sorry bud, maybe they'll find a cure some day.

WF did it with less class stacking then some bosses in legion their most at 5 shamans

I thought grinding for void elves would make me enjoy it more but fuck. There's really nothing tying me to the game, I really hate it.

I keep leveling 9 different characters to maybe 50 before giving up. Maybe if I knew there was some pay off I'd stick with them but so far it's like I am entire day goes by and I'm only up by a dozen levels. Considering they snuffed retconned and removed literally everything that made leveling fun or immersive and exciting there's fucking no redeeming qualities.

I can't even see Blizzard themselves defending this shit.

>Mythic+ was fucking garbage.
Stopped reading here. It's the best addition to the game since launch.

Wow already fucking had that, they removed it in cata. FUCK Blizzard.

>What content patches? Legion had the same barebones patches that plagued the game since Cataclysm.
You mean since TBC. Hell, even WotLK only had one good content patch, the Ulduar one.

Attached: Call_of_the_Crusade.jpg (800x600, 360K)

>Mythic+ was fucking garbage
i disagree. it was great for people who wanted progressive endgame content with a smaller group

They brought a single melee dps and stacked 5 shaman so that they could suicide and reincarnate through a mechanic. The fight is poorly thought out garbage that literally reuses a gimmick from a mid raid boss last expansion.

When professions (engineering) became useless toy shit.

Leveling is in one of the worst states it's been, and going through it with my Highmountain before BfA released pretty much made me drop the game and seeing what's been going on in BfA and how retarded they are currently being, I guess I should be thankful for that.

I know what you mean. The game is kissing my ass and telling me that I'm super special and I can somehow miraculously use this super special weapon that's been locked away since forever, but literally everyone has one. That sort of thing only worked when the weapons themselves were scarce or hard to acquire. Like, you would see some guy wielding Thunderfury and think that dude was someone special. I just want to go back to being that unknown soldier who was wandering through the land doing shit, rather than being the special snowflake which gets all these accolades dumped on me and having every NPC act like I'm the hottest shit ever.

Telling every single player in the game that they're special and unique means that no one's really special or unique, especially when you dump an Ashbringer on literally every paladin.

Isn't it? Blizz needs to remake the starting zones so badly because I can't make endgame when I have buyers remorse for my free level boosted characters. The game just sucks to begin with, I should just cancel my sub

>Leveling is in one of the worst states it's been
Elaborate? Zone scaling and the relatively recent xp requirement nerfs to certain ranges make it the best it's ever been imo.

Leveling just fucking sucks and I wish the game would do away with it entirely.

its still boring and only really serves as a time gate to endgame rather than being a fun and engaging adventure. i think thats what he meant

I enjoy PvP, I’m sorry

I went through a very similar experience.

Got excited to make a Highmountain Tauren fury warrior, grinded the rep, made one and got to around level 45 before just losing interest. What killed it for me was the eventual realisation of the long, spiraling pit that is gearing, ilvl elitism, daily quests and various other micro-managed elements that makes max level cap a bore.

I thought the Division 2 would have made for a suitable time sink for me, but that's so much worse.

Attached: 1485004036644.png (1022x731, 643K)

I agree but I don't see how that makes it "one of the worst states it's been."

If you read his whole post he was clearly referring to how leveling was right before bfa, which was MUCH slower.

desu this was the biggest red herring of Wotlk. Ulduar should have probably been right before ICC, and just doing dungeons and exploring shows how there should have been a vrykul raid with sick norse themed tier sets and Ymiron. Not to mention a possible Zul'Drak icetroll raid with scourge influence.

raid finder was implemented in cata. dungeon finder was implemented in the latter half of wotlk in the ToC patch i believe.

>How many marginalised groups can we fit into one character
the character

>abloo abloo abloo muh community

>When you finally unlocked dark irons and just couldn't stand to look at wow anymore
WAKE ME UP

Around the same time for me.
There's no RP or "fun" grind. Everything is time gated or weekly shit. Allied races are a joke and I can't believe the community is eating it up.

3.3 was when the cross server LFG was implemented. 3.1 had a LFG panel but it wasn't as streamlined as the actual tool that put you in a group.

I just play because I enjoy the raiding experience. There aren’t any games that give that wow raiding sastisfaction when you take a boss down on mythic progress. Maybe I’m just a faggot

>Remove class quests cause they're basicly a time sink
>People praise them when they introduce class halls which basicly are the same thing

Cataclysm

Every expansion this game had has killed servers and guilds, and by the time cataclysm came around the community aspects of the game was stripped out for queues and gearscore shit because team B took over and all they cared about was esport PVP and world first raiding.

Last fun guild I was in was in WOTLK, and I found them in an Onyxia PUG, in Cataclysm everyone was kicking you just because their gearscore addon said you didn't outgear the dungeon.

3.2 was the the cancer that killed end game.

Without content progression the game becomes an absolute grind, and 3.2 pretty much started the trend that each patch would make the previous patch content obsolete with excessive catch up mechanics.

zg/aq20 and 1.11 itemization arguably started that trend

I quit during cata, came back for MoP and really enjoyed it. Then I quit again in WoD only to come back for Legion. Now I'm waiting for classic.

Attached: stu.gif (499x428, 491K)

Pandaria the joke expansion made me quit for a year
WoD as a whole made me quit forever

You are literally me.

>tfw we never dealt with that GIGA SNAKE in that one temple
>was probably going to be for a troll raid that never came

Three shit expansions in row, wow ended for me with the death of lich king.

Legion was good. It's okay to move on though.

ZQ/AQ20 was a good way to do that though, it added more gear to the lower tier pool, 3.2 made it so you could skip entire raid tiers by farming dungeons.

Imagine if AQ40 came out, and instead of adding in AQ20, they added in tokens to UBRS, Diremaul, Scholo and Strath that could be turned in for Tier 2 equivalent gear.

And while you can argue that BC started this with Sunwell patch adding in badge gear that was almost as good as tier 6, the ammount of badges you needed was too high, but 3.2 gave you an ulduar badge every single boss kill, and TOC's 5 man dungeon dropped ulduar level gear, for a fucking 5 man boss rush anyone could clear in 20 minutes once a day every day.

>We ran out of time lol
Fuck you Blizzard

How do you even feel special if game characters never even aknowledge you?
You are supposed to be some sort of legendary hero like Jaina at this point yet whenever you enter a new location some shit will order you around to go pick up 10 berries or something.
I can't even roleplay in WOW for this reason. My character only feels like camera with HP bar. At this point I feel like Blizzard just need to add Ultra casual mode for the players who are only interested in story shenangians because everything you do is meaningless.
Bosses you defeat will later be retconned to be defeated by some heroes like Jaina or Anduin or they will just shove them in the cinematic showing how they single handly destroy the boss.
Everything just feels fake.
Just let me see what actual heroes do because I sure as hell can't feel any connection and value of my own character.

Attached: wow gameplay experience chart.jpg (1359x750, 111K)

Legion was mediocre at best, the only good part is there was a progression system that wasn't locked to raids with the artifact system, but the legendary system was pretty shitty

It was a good expansion for alting, but it was a pretty shitty expansion for an MMO because the raids sucked, especially fucking TOS, the only decent part about Legion raiding was Antorus, because Antorus actually had most of their boss encounters that weren't fucking cancerous "oops, billy stood in the fire and everyone died"

The butchering of elemental shamans.

This chart is retarded, I don't understand what you're trying to say, except the game got more landmass with each expansion and the content was made more and more linear

I checked out BFA beta and saw how little effort they put into everything, along with the low effort allied races.

The only way to feel special in an MMO is for other players to acknowledge you, not NPCs.

WOW is really bad at this, every expansion you're the chosen one, but then you're still collecting bear asses and slaying boars at the end of the day, and all you have to show for it after hundreds of hours of grinding is gear that becomes vendor trash as soon as the next patch drops.

>everyone using a weapon triggered my autism so hard

>why can't I be the unknown hated town toilet and fucktoy I was at level 1 after I've slain dragon, demons, and monstrosities saving the planet?

>mechagnome
Better than high elves.

Now imagine pandering to both of these guys and you get modern WoW

I didn't quit, but after cataclysm I figured that WOW will no longer be about character progression so I just sub for the last and first month of an expansion and blow through all the content in a week.

Seriously, why people subscribe for fucking years for a game that literally has less then a weekend worth of content is pretty retarded, and you'd have to be a fucking cuck to want to do everything on hard mode for items that will be shit for a few months later. Even autismos of WOW have quit mythic raiding by now, the only people who still do that shit are getting paid to do so, either through sponsors like method, or RMT.

quit legion 2 months in because reasons, came back towards the end waiting for bfa. quit bfa a fucking month in so yeah. no more hope

Got tricked into playing WoD by my friends. Three months in I quit WoW for good. I was so disgusted with it I haven't played WoW since.
Prior to that I quit in Cata, and subbed off and on during MoP.

Attached: retailWoW_players.png (338x420, 216K)

>that Mechagnome
What the hell? Those hairstyles and goggles should be customization for regular Gnomes. Mechagnomes should look like pic related.

Attached: Attendant_Tock.jpg (459x571, 46K)

Oh nonono
You see, that would require too much actual work besides it will give players what they wanted when they think about mechagnomes. Blizzard's policy aka 'No Fun allowed' prohibits that.
So here is a lame customisation option in a form of a separate race for already the least played race.

cataclysm
"we aren't going to make heroics easier we listened to players"
>first major patch of the expansion they make heroics easier and every run I'm tanking or healing for absolute retards who probably couldn't tie their shoes together
it also took all the fun out of it and just made the game more of a chore.

So basically Highmountain Tauren all over again.

Split raiding is many times more complicated and time-intensive, so much so that only the most autistic and extreme raiders are doing it. I would also like to remind you that one of the top guilds has done such utterly insane things such as transferring servers simply to buy out crafting mats across multiple servers so that they could do the equally insane thing of maxing multiple crafting professions on ALTS so that they could make high ilevel gear, enabling them to transfer gear they got as drops.

Basically, the change did what it was intended to do, which was to discourage the "typical" high-end progression guild from obsessively split-raiding, but nothing can ever discourage the kind of people who will always go too far to get an advantage.

How does modern WoW pander to both people who wanted to be the only ones with one weapon and who want to be nobodies at 120?

WoW peaked with MoP in terms of gameplay, TBC in terms of story. The community was literally never good. PvP only had a good system in Vanilla/early TBC, but has always either been bland as tap water or horrifically broken. Raids have probably gotten better with each expansion, with dips at Cataclysm and Warlords of Draenor.

I came back for Legion after not playing since Cata. I had a good time but it was mostly due to the guild I found and the friends I made. However they merged with another guild and were trying to go hardcore in Mythic raiding while I was trying to be casual, I already had my go at being a tryhard raider. Gradually started playing less and less until I canceled my sub. Despite how bad the game is I can't bring myself to hate it, I just don't want to play it anymore. I've given like 10 years of my life to the game, I truly love World of Warcraft and I can't wait to go home.

Attached: 1344349129557.jpg (2464x1648, 365K)

It was only really mythic raiding that kept me interested, but my guild is long since dead, and now the realm is dead. The cost of transferring all my characters to an actually-active realm is just obscene, and I can't bring myself to tackle the grind of re-levelling everything. Not that I'd even know where to start over, since the community being shit appears to apply everywhere, and mythic guilds are especially insular.

Lack of friends to play with and too socially weak to ask for help from strangers in game.

Attached: 1466462671878.jpg (368x381, 53K)

Personal loot ended up being the better system

It was Cataclysm, I had already grown disappointed with how sub-par content was with Cata after noticing how the world rebuild was sub-par and all the cut content(Shit like Uldum, or the fact that they modeled Pygmy huts after Volcanoth's concept art but just stitched together a big lava snapping turtle for the actual model).
The harder heroics compared to WotlK had restored my interest though and for a time I had fun, then my guild failed to finish Firelands by the time blizzard nerfed the fuck out of it for casuals which sort of killed everyone's spirit (We had also failed to clear BWD before the nerf).
Realizing that blizzard was just juggling hardcore and casual players in a marching pattern of different catering patches I basically lost any hope the WoW would be good again. Guild broke up and dissolved into a few other guilds because of the firelands thing and MoP was announced with a bunch of shit that sounded casual as hell.

In some ways I regret not staying for MoP, because despite its intro most people consider it a really good jump back from cata, not quite peak WoW but definitely one of the last good hurrahs for the game. But I'm glad I left when I did, I was able to focus on other vidya and had less of an addiction to shit bogging me down for college and other shit. It also gave me time to think rationally about MMOs and how they're ultimately one massive failure, never actually achieving what players truly wanted out of them.

I'd like to think that one day, maybe after the last theme park MMO dies people will reconsider the entire concept of what would make a good, profitable MMO that players truly want.

>Spend hours on mythic+ dungeons to get shit rewards like AP
>Take away our weapons which had skins to unlock as well as a talent tree and replace it with a passive amulet
>Gut the talent and glyph system and leave us with this bland way to "customize" our characters
>No fun allowed when it comes to transmogs
>GCD is absolute cancer
>In game shop for a game we buy and pay a monthly fee for
>Story just feels forced with the horde and the alliance at war after we proved that together we can overcome great threats
>Shit writing in general
>No housing despite players asking for it for years

All in all it's a bunch of little things that added up for me that made me realize that the game is just not fun anymore. Nothing you do matters because a new patch resets your gear progression.

One thing that always bothered me was how Blizzard completely ignores old content. For its failures, Cataclysm did one thing right which was updating older zones and having them change as time went on. The world feels stagnant when you go to an older zone and it completely ruins the immersion for me.

Attached: 1388639282896.jpg (488x516, 176K)

It was during MoP. I dont know what it was, but I was just jumping around on my rogue in a small town waiting for somthing, maybe a pvp match. I was just jumping around and suddenyl I asked myself, why? I was jumping and not playing the game because daily quest island was done. I had nothing. I was paying $15 a month for a glorified instant messenger with built in busy work.
I just dropped it all together. wasnt slow, just a log off/cancel sub thing and never looked back.

However, taught it was a good idea approve this at Blizzard is retarded I can no longer tolerate these things.
JUST DELETE THE THIS WHILE AT DELETE THE FUCKING PANDA'S

Cata freed me from it years ago.
I briefly came back for legion but stopped a couple months in.
Now with classic on the way I'm never going to touch retail again in my life.

>No housing despite players asking for it for years
What would be the point of this?

I wish I had done the same thing I just started playing World of Warcraft during MOP

Are you high? They were thinking of class based player housing like, PRE Vanilla. They just never got around to it because the idea seemed retarded, and when they finally released it, it "was" retarded.

Wrath
It was going downhill during BC as well, but some of the features and changes in wrath were truly baffling.

Some of us want to give our characters a place we can call home. Build a place to my liking and display trophies and other things like that.

The last few years that I played I found myself preferring to collect things and explore rather than raid. To me more options to customize my character is what kept me going.

Unfortunately, Blizzard's idea of housing was the garrison which was stupid because it was not what players asked for and most of all it was tied to an expansion of its own.

>All friends and family play it
>20% Wipes on mythic Jaina
>Every other MMORPG sucks
>Would never be able to convince friends not to play it
>MFW Been stuck playing for nearly 15 years now

Yeah, it sucks, but there literally isn't anything else to play.

Alliance getting fuck nuggets as an allied race wew

>end
It was added post-Naxx but pre-Trial. It was by all definitions in the middle of the expansion. It was still salvageable. And Cataclysm's downspiral was a myriad of reasons. 10mans being unbalanced on release, breaking the entire world and making leveling retarded for over a full year before they overhauled it and
>LFR
Now don't get me wrong, I actually thoroughly enjoyed Cataclysm. But both objectively, via sales numbers, and personally via my own experiences, Cataclysm is when the game finally grew tiring, instead of inspiring.

when i realized that there was no content. bare-bones shit. i realized that running the same awful dogshit dungeons 50000000000000000000000 times and wiping 10,000 times on hc ghuun was all there was left to the game. i hated how they tried to make me play on THEIR schedule. rep grinding. world quests. all tied to BLIZZARD's clock, and not mine.

my computer can't run it

Blue and Green geared fresh level 85 Grim Batol was nightmarish. Didn't help that the dragon functions were broken on release.

But once you killed the Duke of Below on Heroic, you were hot shit for the first few weeks of the expansion, without exception.

>retail
Why would pay the same subscription fee for Classic

And yet....not even a handful of you fuckers will give a different game a try at ANY point in the near future. eso, xiv, gw2. runescape? No thanks says the wow player. I'll just bitch on forums and youtube and eat up blizzards next shitty expansion or just play classic whenever it launches and keep giving these incompetent greedy fucks my money. Tell me I'm wrong.

Cata killed my guild in a way. I ran a casual and social guild that was really popular with noobs and as a hangout spot for the alts of people in a few large world pvp and raiding guilds. It had 300 something active members that spiked to over 500+ who only wanted the bonuses and the fact we had 5 tabs me and several others graciously filled with random mats and drops from low dungeons. Killed all sense of community we had. We used to raid ally towns or do vanilla raids every weekend.

But I tried GW2 as soon as it released and I played Runescape back in the day. Also quit WoW some 6 months back.

My question is how long till it's Eastern cousin, FFXIV, will start creating this point for players seeing as it's modern reboot is based off WoW.

It was after the release of Uldir. That's when all of my friends quit and my guild died. They were the only reason I kept playing for a really long time.

I've unsubbed and a month ago uninstalled the game for good. I'm done.

They could just balance raids to 10 people instead of 20. You know, like they fucking used to.

I think a major problem with WoW in its current state is the standard.

When WoW came out it was the standard for an MMO. However, as time progressed other MMO's came out and offered more things to the players in terms of customization in forms of the characters themselves, gear, etc. while WoW just stagnated.

>Literal erotic roleplaying furry faggots and literal uwu owo-ing transsexuals are making fun of a game that came out before and will still last longer than it.
Wow will die with a wimper, not a bang, every game came along trying to be the wow killer and every game failed. In the end, the only thing that can kill wow is wow.

What?
Just because you pay the sub doesn't mean you need to play retail.
If they fuck it up then I'll just cancel and go back to private servers.

see you at classic launch

Shill for Activation more.
No king rules forever.

>ESO
It is nothing like wow, and it doesn't look fun.
>Final Fantasy
It is anime shit
>GW2
It was interesting but the whole game was built around using 5 abilities or so, massively dumbed down
>Runescape
It was fun when i was 13. It's a child's game.

I've left and come back numerous times.
As long as it entertains me I won't leave, if I am not, I leave and come back later.

No sense in paying unless I have something enjoyable to do.

I never cared much for the actual gameplay, though I did enjoy it, I played during the Burning Crusade.

Being a huge Warcraft 3 fan, the main attraction was the world and characters. Breathing in a world which I loved so much, finding interesting spots and quests was a huge joy.
Other players were just a bonus and I never got invested into the game as much as people who cared for multiplayer or item progression more.

Years later I downloaded a private server and just explored through everything I haven't yet as a instant max level character. Felt nice.

>What made you decide to free yourself from WoW?
From vanilla to wrath, got fucking tire of the same basic game formula of click skills, wait for shit to happen. Haven't bother with any other mmo though since they are all basically a copy of wow.

Was a fun game though but if there are people who played this game from vanilla to right now, they must be addicts.

It's still doing better than Final Fantasy and you should be ashamed and borderline suicidal because of it. I stopped playing WoW 2 expansions ago, but I know it's still going. I can see it. I can feel it, and you're naive and ignorant for thinking it's possible to defeat it.

Wow will only go away once it goes away. Nothing will MAKE it go away. It's been here for the greater portion of two fucking decades, dozens of games that looked better or played better than it have come, failed to garner a sustainable audience, and gone. I'm not even saying FF15 is bad, but it's not stronger than WoW. It never was, and never will be, and I don't care. I really don't. This has been a strung up corpse for years now.

FF15 might think ill of wow, but rest assured, wow doesn't think of it at all.

Attached: Frickinflower.jpg (177x180, 12K)

I've already downloaded OSRS (Stopped playing originally after the EoC update) on my phone and also giving FXIV another try and currently just unlocking all my Jobs before heading into PvP to grind for Garo sets. Biggest issue with that is trying to find a Job that just clicks for me in PvP.

I was only sticking around for a weekly mythic run with friends, and when it folded a few weeks ago I uninstalled. It's the end of the road for me. I could write a wall of text on why but it's nothing that hasn't been said a thousand times already.

I do want to say that the amount of shilling that has gone on for BFA and especially 8.2 is disgusting. Real defending the indefensible shit, a lot of content creators worried that they might have to go back to wagecucking 9-5.

>bragging about incomplete races that can't even wear 2/3rd if the game's headgear
Nah you're just as cancerous as WoW.

>FF15

When I realized that they were seriously going to leave every class playing like it had in the legion prepatch in BFA. Then they removed Master loot, then they proceeded to make changing gear in mythic + not possible, then they locked every single new race behind a rep grind making you do even more boring grinding to even begin doing even more boring grinding. That's before the realization that they were trying to tell another horde vs.alliance story that no one fucking cares about. Worse yet its a story that can only end in Sylvanas not getting a sword shoved up her dead cunt because shes too popular. I quit right after warfronts dropped on beta, because they were the most boring, shitty, idea i'd ever bothered to play in a video game. Legion wasn't great, but it had its fun points, but BFA is a travesty of design, story telling and subpar garbage music. Arts nice though.

>wow players
>acting superior to any other games players
>the same group have been parodied and ridiculed in pop culture as shut ins, neets , freaks, autist and so much more

SETHRAKS. WHEN?

Attached: 1520329658171.gif (588x514, 1003K)

Because WoW fans are fucking idiots and think that BFA is the worst expansion ever made when it's still in 8.1.

Also, the amount of complaints from the community over stupid shit...is just about stupid shit. Such as store mounts that were stated they'd be in the store 6 months in advance and morons still complained.

The raids in BFA have already been great. All the generic leveling bullshit was fun due to War mode. Island expeditions and War fronts are just bullshit content that is fun but not meant to be ran a thousand times. It's like trying to run PVP a thousand times in FFXIV its there but nobody cares about it.

The azerite system is already getting a revamp in 8.2. 8.2 is practically fixing the whole game and yet people still complain for the sake of complaining.

When I realized I was in an endless content loop of waiting via time gate for some gear, get that gear, then make it entirely invalid when the next bit of gear came out
There's no actual RPG element to this game, no builds, no set ups, it's just collect the next pile of stats
Made even worse in BFA without even having tier sets
Legion wasn't perfect by any means, but I liked the legendary system because it was almost like an RPG again. Where people made different talent point builds on what legendaries they got
It wasn't perfect, but I figured it was going to be a step in the right direction. Boy was I fucking wrong

Attached: 1446841458416.jpg (853x480, 238K)

>What made you decide to free yourself from WoW?
I didn't want to quit WoW I was ready to nolife it but BFA and all the things Blizzard have done and said following it really helped me in deciding to permanently quit playing that game.
I don't even give a shit about the next expansion for the first time.

Attached: rtz_coming.png (413x471, 263K)

Or 14, or 11. Sorry, I've literally never played it and I forgot it was a thing. At risk of sounding pretentious, that actually almost proves my point. But what have you.

3/10 for effort

>Sorry, I've literally never played it
Opinion discarded than. You cant judge a game you've literally never played.

Attached: D4x-gZlWsAAjfCY.jpg (640x632, 40K)

This. The bosses ars shit, the world design is bland, the culture is insufferable, and none of it is worth it in the end.

Replace WoW and BA with XIV and Stormblood and you sound just like a XIV player. Good how do two similar communities clash against each other when they're the same cancer supporting theme park MMOs?

>Shilling for WoW so fucking hard

All your arguments boil down to "give it time and it will be great."

Fucking Blizzard had how many expansions to perfect this game? The real issue is them redesigning the wheel every fucking time they release a new expansion.

FF15 is shit. That's a general consensus

The fact that he confused it just adds to the fact that it's not memorable, which is kind of true given is well within it's peak and will never reach the claim to fame that WoW did. One WoW dies all its clones will follow suit if they haven't died by then.

Yep, only reason I keep playing is because my girlfriend loves it, she raids nonstop and drags me along with her mythic guild.

>Leveled 10 characters to max level in BFA because everything played like shit and I wanted to like the game
man they REALLY fucked the game up. i think what made it unforgivable was not that they didn't know, it was that it was all openly deliberate.

Because they can't fucking recycyle the same systems you fucking moron. If not you'd be playing the same stale content over and over

I'm judging numbers, crowds, and general feel of the community at large. At no point have I ever said FF14 was a bad game. In fact I went to somewhat grand efforts to claim that I didn't think so, but that doesn't mean at least from a third party perspective that I'm not allowed to point out that it has never once, ever, surpassed WoW's popularity.

In fact a lot of people that started playing it were people who quit WoW for being shit and may be back once classic hits. Won't that be hilarious to have half of your playerbase, which was from another game, get lost as they go back to an OLDER VERSION of a game that is already technically inferior to yours?

It will never beat wow. Not now, not in the future, and certainly not in the past.

>islands and warfronts are fun content
>and heroic warfronts, glyphs 2.0 and timeless isle 6.0 are going to fix the game
>besides why are you judging the expansion when it's only been out for 9 months?

do the world a favor and neck yourself

You forgot that Trial added tier gear for badges

It finally hit me. After playing since Classic, that ultimate question finally caught up to me.

"Why am I going out of my way to improve my gear so I can do the same content, but harder, so I can improve my gear?"

The world is gorgeous, don't get me wrong, and I really did enjoy leveling up to max level every time. It shows the quest and world designers had a lot of passion. It's just when you get to the end game, there's really nothing to do at all. PvP, Raiding or Mythics. That's it. PvP is fun to an extent, but the ranked ladder is absolutely nauseating. I never cared about being the best or being the biggest numbers on a team. There is literally nothing else to the game except killing monsters to get stronger to kill more monsters. You don't get new powers anymore. The open world of PvP will be moot with the introduction to flying again. It's not as if professions are fun. There's zero agency. I found myself forcibly dragging myself to get online so I could grind out X, Y and Z so I could meet my weekly quota, and upon realizing it was a glorified job, I dropped it cold turkey.

Now I'm playing a long-lost, beloved favorite of mine recently brought back from the dead: City of Heroes. It's a wonderful life. I wish those folks still playing WoW the best, but I hope they realize that it is in fact a skinner box of a game these days. WoW Classic will be fun, since it's such an old experience that relied on enjoying the game's progression versus the end game, but even that won't last for me.

Attached: screenshot_190510-19-23-07.jpg (1680x1050, 500K)

They ruined raiding with WoD, they ruined Brewmaster in Legion. No reason to play anymore.

>Because they can't fucking recycyle the same systems you fucking moron. If not you'd be playing the same stale content over and over
Wrong you fucking dumbass. They don't just not recycle systems they throw out perfectly good systems in an effort to make balancing on their end easy while not giving a shit to how it plays. If it were just a matter of them changing systems to make it more fun no one would give a shit, its the difference between them actually trying to make fun systems instead of dumbed down diarrhea that is only made for their benefit. People can fucking tell and azerite armor wasn't made because it was fun for the community but a way for them to achieve cost savings and its fucking obvious.

Thats not why WOW stagnates.

WOW stagnates because they put 99% of their core gameplay developmeint into less then 1% of the content that only .1% of the playerbase even participates in.

Class design only got worse as time went on, because they insisted on making every boss encounter in WOW a DPS race, thus the only class mechanics that mattered was raw DPS, fast forward 15 years later and now every class does the exact same thing.

Now WOW has no anchor to keep people hooked, the only people doing mythic raiding are making money off it either through world first racing sponsorships or RMT, everyone else is stuck on a repetitive "log in once a week" content drought that begin mere days after a major patch hits because everything is locked behind artificial time gates or is simply piss easy and designed for arbitrary hard modes, and for all your effort you get the shitty non-titanforged unsocked version of an item that will become vendor trash next patch because catch-up mechanics exist despite the baseline content being easy enough to clear day fucking one on normal mode.

a week after the first xpac. I no lifed up to level 70 and I quit the game. I was doing some instance with the guild that I was in for a long time and got a item and i suddenly got really bored and told them that I was quitting. /g quit and never looked back.

uldir was fucking trash
opening a weekly chest for a downgrade or duplicate was trash too
killing a boss for the 10th time and not getting your item was trash too
rerolling 3 coins and getting azerite power was trash
jesus christ it was a casino game why do you think everyone bailed that shitty ass game

>Recycle

Flexing that room temperature IQ real hard I see.

You keep things that work and fix or discard things that don't work. Blizzard went full overblown retard and changed everything good and bad and now look at the state of the game. If what you said was true then the game would be more popular than ever but clearly that's not the case.

Go shill somewhere else, faggot.

>they ruined Brewmaster in Legion.
Thank you brewbro, I miss brewmaster so badly and I wish I'd played mists so I could have played it in its prime as well. I don't think I ever had so much fun tanking in WoD and I wish i'd gotten to play it when it was even more risk/reward.

they literally removed everything that Legion did right and kept everything people hated about Legion and then replaced the good stuff with even shittier stuff.

get a fucking grip

I am still really fucking sad that they made legiondaries useless and dropped that system entirely, the RNG aspect of it was retarded but if they put legion style legendaries as hardmode questlines for dungeons it would have been fucking amazing.

What i loved the most with this game was to discover Azeroth and the lore. TBC killed it so hard that i left.

>I am still really fucking sad that they made legiondaries useless and dropped that system entirely, the RNG aspect of it was retarded but if they put legion style legendaries as hardmode questlines for dungeons it would have been fucking amazing.
They couldn't have it as the slot machine they wanted so they chucked it entirely which is as usual for them. Too often if people only like a part of the system they jettison it entirely instead of iterating on it.

Joke's on you, fagioli. Was playing with Yea Forums earlier on a City of Heroes private server. Shit was good fun.

I still wonder how awesome monks would have been if they had Vanilla-WOTLK style talents rather then the forced cookie cutter specs we got.

>I know thats you asmongold, you balding piece of shit. I want you to know your game is dying and it brings me immense pleasure.
Baldmongold wouldn't post here, hes too soft to come here and deal with any banter.

When they introduced a special stat for PVP alone in Burning Crusade.

>People like to pretend that WoW went downhill later but watching how willing they were to kill Emergent Gameplay made me stop playing it.
Yeah that is a huge part of the problem isn't it? Emergent gameplay has been treated as a dirty word for many years now and it sucks.

>TBC in terms of story.
Worse than WoD.
It was actually worse than WoD user.

>Couldn't even find a raiding or dungeon guild in the most casual friendly expansion of them all

Around Wod release when I realized they utterly butchered every class and spec I Ioved. It was ready bad in MoP but they somehow made it worse. And now it's somehow EVEN worse, every spec in the game is basically the same, PvP is completely neutered, Mana stopped mattering long ago for everyone... it's hard to wrap my head around how many steps back they took from WotLK/Cata classes, it's really fucking patethic.

Attached: 5TMzKnI.jpg (1411x1077, 69K)

I still like WoW, I'll probably always like it on some level, and I'll play it at least until I just plain don't have time for it anymore. I don't really think the game's gotten much worse over time, but I've spent a lot more time seriously playing this game than most people on this board, so I'm not surprised that my views on it might differ from what is obviously the popular opinion. It's always had exactly what I logged on for, while for some people, what they wanted either changed or became less attractive. I always see lots of excuses as to why WoW is shit or has been shit or turned to shit, but they're never very good. The game still has a very old design, and unless you play it with people you like, you'll have a pretty basic and distancing experience where you just don't feel connected to anything. There's no real reason to pug anything, loot treadmills are inherently unsatisfying, and downing bosses in progression only matters if you're accomplishing something as a connected group. I can't imagine anyone sticking around to do mythic+ or whatever without having friends to do it with. Basically, the game design does not take into account the sheer number of people who are uninterested in or unable to find a guild that appeals to them. Pretty much any shitty game can be fun with friends.

BFA pretty much killed ALOT of interest in doing Anything in WoW.

>Struggle through mythics + in hopes that one piece of gear drops.
>people getting annoyed because its taking too long to get the things they need.
>Blizzard being the shitheads they are dont allow people to trade gear with eachother to help out with the awful grind to stay competitive
>Island expeditions are flat out awful and un-engaging.
>Even with Warmode PVP is fucking dead because the Alliance couldn't handle it.
>only thing to do was gathering mats for raid night on downtime.

Maybe forcing people to continuously run through the fucking Skinnerbox was a bad idea.

Has to be bait, only someone who is a zoomer who prenteds to have been playing vanilla or BC would think BC had good lore

For all the faults it had, TBC didn't have asinine "travel back in time AND in a other dimension lmao" nonsense.

I'd honestly give WoW another go
IF they removed war/titanforging

Nigga fuck you atleast he's honest about the shit state of the game.
Who the fuck here can hate such a positive person ?

TBC Story:
>Draenei crashed on a spaceship into Azeroth so now you can play them hah, and btw they are sexy af?
>Blood elves came back from Outland, rebuilt their city and joined the horde because if this all had made sense and they had joined the Alliance then no one would want to play horde because horde would just have just ugly races.
>Ok now go to Outland and bury every worthwhile lore character

>they

Allow me to redpill you on videogames, anons because there is a hard inconvenient truth you haven't realized yet: Its usually not the devs/Publisher who ruin games its the players and this is exactly what happened to WoW.

Because as someone who played WoW since the Beta I can tell you that bitching to make everything dumber, faster, easier was thing from the very beginning.

>a bloo bloo bloo dungeons are hard to reach and its hard to find a mage/warlock to port some poeple
>okay here you have a summoning stone

>a bloo bloo bloo people prevent me from doing quests by kiling NPCs despite me being on a PVP server
>okay here you go towns now have high level guard NPCs

>a bloo bloo bloo why do I have to go to orgrimmar/ironforge to have go to the auctionhouse/bank
>okay here you go

>a bloo bloo bloo its unfair how the people who spent the most of the time in game also have the best items in the game I just want to do PVP/PVE and I deserve the same thing!
>okay here you go have tokens to trade for drops

Players and their whining have ruined warcraft, no one is as apt at killing fun as players.

>people are just complaining for the sake of complaining
hi Ion

same fampai

Since the announcement of classic i haven't felt my usual itch to go back to the game. That and I've been killing time on FF14 in the meantime. Game is okay but it's a pure WoW clone, and not in the best ways. Obviously it's better than WoD/BFA.

Probably because Cata was shit right after, but despite the memes I consider Mists to be the best expansion beyond any doubt. Classes had the most diversity (even so far as warlock tanking), the zones were filled with new types of content that vastly improved over the previous expansions' "Go to X and kill/collect Y" formula. Fully utilized phasing for a feel of progression and growth, had more content in the form of scenarios, and also farming as an easy, reliable source of end-game materials that still tied into reputation and general gameplay, not just handed to you.

And all that is before some of the fantastic content that dropped in updates like Timeless Isle.

Then the very next expansion cut away all of them, reduced each class and every spec into "Maintain a dot, spam your spam, use nuke on cooldown" cookiecutter mold that sucked away any possible enjoyment from the game.

Cataclysm. Pre-cata WoW was the shit.

Realizing I had way more fun for free shitposting on Yea Forums

This. You can't really get that anymore, since crossrealming means that you rarely encounter the same people twice and don't get an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the strong personalities on your server. I still remember this one paladin called Baldavenger who camped the rooftops of Orgrimmar all day every day, for example.

>why can't I be the unknown hated town toilet and fucktoy I was at level 1 after I've slain dragon, demons, and monstrosities saving the planet?

Acting like the player has canonically done every raid and killed every boss in the entirety of WoW is dumb, especially when you factor in players which came long after those raids stopped being relevant. Imagine if any of the named characters had this sort of kill count.

When I knew i had tendonitis and kept playing despite the pain.

Can someone help me find a recent WoW video on youtube?
a youtuber timed how long it takes to run from the bottom of Eastern Kingdom to the top. I can't find it anywhere

disregard this. I figured it out.

>Timeless Isle
>"fantastic content"

Memes aside; Timeless Isle was a kindergarten with free epics.

What class and spec? In general MoP was where a lot of classes peaked in gameplay. Locks were amazing

Wasn't MoP after they butchered the talent trees?

Tbc was the first time that blizz pandered to the Asians by giving blood elves to Horde.

... Hunter.

Attached: 1556244860873.jpg (550x826, 27K)

Spent way too much time into this fucking abomination. I quit sometime into WoD and I've been playing more games and focusing on other stuff in general. Fuck blizzard and their shitty games.

Yes, it removed the tree structure. However, the first iteration of the new talent system was mostly a plus. The old passive talents were included with your spec, and each choice made varied changes after that. For example, a warlock's drain life spell became an AoE web that targeted every mob with X yards, making you an invincible healing monster so long as you had mana. A demonologist could take Sacrifice, which buffed all his spells by a huge amount and gave him solid passive healing and a large shield, or you could take the option that changed up all your demons to a new, stronger form, such as Shivarra instead of a succubus.

In MoP, Glyphs could further alter your spec, such as turning a Demonologist's Meta form into a new, permanent "Warlock Tank" form where your abilities have huge threat. Combined with the Sacrifice talent, you became an actual contender with other tanks.

It was overall a good time. Then the "ability shrink" took away everything. Literally everything.

I honestly can’t see how people are still playing WoW in 2019. They have to be the most delusional people left to be eating the literal shit that blizzard puts out.

I know when wow came out it was a unique phenomenon being the first big mmo but it’s gameplay was never good to begin with. After all these years it’s still the same boring shit yet people can’t let go.

That's not real right

What is the purpose of this abomination? It looks fucking retarded.

Imagine the hype if instead of Mechagnomes Blizzard would announce Sethrac for Alliance this Blizzcon.
It would've been epic.

This, the Skinner box veil is so transparent at this point, it feels like they aren't even trying to hide the repetitiveness of it anymore. The tools they'd use to hide the fact that you are obviously doing the same shit over and over don't even feel like they're being implmented anymore

it's ableist defamation that a quadriplegic is invalid unless they have mechanical replacements for what other humans deem acceptable

Cataclysm, I remember the terrible questing in some fiery magma place, grinding like hell and this terrible questline with Thrall about how he wanted to be a father and he kept shouting 'SOOO MUCH RAGEEEEEE'

cringed hard and dropped it

Attached: 111.jpg (277x297, 30K)

>no cc in cata
Nice shitposting

I quit WoW long time ago because the community is toxic as fuck, and players including so-called "elite raiders" are selfish douchebags. I can't join any heroic or mythic raids unless if I sign a long-ass form just to join a guild and watching guides on YouTube doesn't count as knowing what to do.

I only play WoW on and off for the ERP.

I will always want to marry and impregnate a Draenei, no matter what state the game itself is in.

Dungeon Finder

honestly miss mop, only expansion i stayed subbed through enitrely

I finally gave up on retail like a month into the first raid tier of BfA. God knows I did my everything trying to find meaningful content to do after hitting max with 2 friends 10½h after release and then completing every heroic and mythic 0 dungeon available within the first two days. Too bad there wasn't anything else around than world quests and the hot garbage known as island expeditions. Thought of leveling alts to kill time but even that aspect of the game is gutted.

Granted, the game has been a complete mess since ~the Ulduar patch so the evolution wasn't hardly surprising but I still continued playing (like a retard) on and off for a few months every year to see the pre-patches/expansion releases but I just can't and don't care anymore. Blizzard has been phoning it in completely since the Cataclysm but at least there used to be something you could do outside of raiding like arenas or archaeology.

Nowadays the game is completely tailored for people who only raidlog and the delusional/addicted collectionist crowd that feel like they need to get every pet/mount/transmog/achievement. Blizzard is even completely shameless about this since every patch reveal trailer and screenshot collection is full of slides parading vanity items as content.

BfA is unironically a shittier version of WoD and it's honestly impressive how fucking bad it is. The worst and most amusing part is that the only defense Blizzard and their white knights have after all these years is the same old "just wait until patch x.x.x, it'll fix the issues with x,y,z!". Guess what, if the product is in such a bad state every single patch that the only redeeming factor it has is that it's probably better next patch then it's shit and shouldn't be released.

Not even going to go in on how stupid the implementation of allied races are since I'd probably risk getting an aneurysm. Jesus christ bros, why can't we just get a good mmorpg, this shit is all so tiresome.

I stopped after they released warfronts. They looked fucking amazing when they showed them off and I legitimately thought they'd be great content.
Then they come out and they're one of the shittiest, most braindead, meaningless piece of shit I've ever seen.

You missed out. Pandaria was the last time wow had any soul since LK.

>since every patch reveal trailer and screenshot collection is full of slides parading vanity items as content.
Yes i started noticing this too around the same time that i quit this game, especially on the site mmochampion. They would post updates and the main focus would be about the newest datamined mount model, and i thought "Are we supposed to be exited for a new mount appearance?" It's just a vanity item, your lvl 60 mount will move you just the same.
I even thought that the obsession over the Pheonix mount in TBC was absurd, c'mon guys it's just a slightly faster bird that glow red, who really cares about this shit. I bet it's the same kids who wore brand t-shirts in high school and expected you to be impressed with their status.

Honestly bro I think the genre just needs to be put to bed at this point until someone with some actual passion for a massive fantasy adventure comes along to revive it. Right now it's either blizzard releasing soulless trash to appease investors or people who have no business making an mmo trying to play catch up to a ghost of blizzard that doesn't even exist anymore

WoW peaked at Ulduar. It was all downhill from there.

People get off on the rarity which is completely retarded since they didn't do anything meaningful to obtain a rare item. It's not like the gladiator drakes that were limited seasonally and where you had to be (at least most of the time) skilled to obtain.

Not to mention how Blizzard doesn't have a clear policy on which items are "exclusive" enough to be removed from the game and which items get to return. E.g putting full t3 (-the ring) on the black market auction house to serve as a gold dump even though that was probably the most prestigious/rare full set for anybody to have while somehow deciding that the MoP timed dungeon sets should be removed because of their "status" even though everybody and their mother could've obtained them by paying others for quick boosts towards the end of the expansion.

I agree. The only potential I can see for the genre is in the future when there's a substantial breakthrough in virtual reality and player movement/control schemes. When somebody manages to make a fantasy game where you can "do everything" and feel like you're actually in it is when the next big thing happens.

>E.g putting full t3 (-the ring) on the black market auction house to serve as a gold dump
What a kick in the nuts to the people who got the items the legit way.

Raiding was the one saving grace of WoD. It's been amazing.

Ran out of things I felt like doing in-game. I'm just taking a break, I know I will be back in a few months because I'm a fucking hopeless addict with nothing else to do with my life.

Attached: a75.jpg (600x521, 33K)

Wow fags deserve to suffer

Why not play other games? Why do wow fags ONLY play this? There are far better games to play than this shit.

no other better mmos sadly! and he just said he's taking a break anyway

My files got messed up and I couldn't spare the bandwidth to redownload it all.

I did love the mage tower though.

>What made you decide to free yourself from WoW?
In Cataclysm when they nerfed Heroics because too many scrubs complained

first time: sub ran out during first week of wotlk, burnt out on tbc i guess and most of my friends didn't play so i just didn't resub

resubbed for wod launch and quit that time when my sub ran out.. warlords of draenor just didn't do it for me and I got what I wanted. again didn't feel the need to contiunue my sub

People got caught up in the game back when it was good enough to be a "main" game that you could play almost exclusively. Now even after all those years they still have the mindset of exclusively playing that game even though there's not enough content in a weekly reset to fill a day so they just watch netflix or some shit on their second monitor while idling on their characters trying to figure out something to do until it's time to stop for the day. And then they repeat the cycle the next day and the one after that until the next expansion and so on and so on.

My nigga

>snake race

wtf blizz?

Mmos are a thing of the past.

As someone who played for a year when burning crusade came out there was content to begin with. Only thing that kept me playing for that long was the “community” aspect before raid try hards became the typical player.

Legion was okay. It was heavily brought down by endless AP farming, endless daily world quests if you wanted to keep up, and legendary RNG.

What gets me is how completely tone-deaf Blizzard has become to the people playing the game. It's like every new feature is designed by a manager with a metrics-driven algorithm, and the concept of whether or not the players wanted or will enjoy it is something that only needs to be worried about on the PTR.

You'd think with the community and sub counts shrinking month by month, they'd be more open to actually soliciting and listening to feedback. Instead, the best you can hope for is a community manager to aggregate the mass of complaints into something simplistic ("players didn't like having to grind artifact power to level their weapon") which then gets misunderstood by the decision maker who doesn't play the game ("we can have them level a necklace instead, problem solved").

>Constantly 2 WoW threads up all day

Amazing how blizzard money can make retards rose tint the same stupid generals all day.

That's fucking hot. Can I play as one?

Guild Wars 1 was probably the best MMO ever. Shame there's no spiritual successor.

>Two (2) threads
Whoa i bet the whole board is unusable with that amount of hardcore shilling.

>The classes got dumbed down
why are people longing for classic, where half the classes literally have 1 button rotations?

I'd prefer all MMO threads for various games than the perpetual deluge of Nintendo shit this board is constantly flooded with.

The idea of "rotations" did not exist in classic, it came later, friend.

Cata did it

Cataclysm was hot garbage.

3 Wow threads up right now you nigger
Fuck you for eating shit all day and pretending you have some kind of high moral stance

The most accurate image I've seen on this board.

Stopped when cataclysm was announced. Pandas sealed the deal.

Go start threads or post in the threads related to something you like then faggot. How can shilling be real lmao, just filter the threads and walk away homo.

Look how you eat blizzard shit
Fucking pathetic how neo-Yea Forums will gladly take whatever companies shit out for them crying when they fuck them over for the 11th time

What in the unholy bejesus fuck? The blizz dumpster fire gets more and more ridiculous.

What's going on here?

Attached: 1442599208185.jpg (349x350, 10K)

The entire thread is about how people don't even play the game and why not. It's painfully obvious that your reading comprehension is on the level of an african baboon when you're crying about us shilling something we're talking smack about.

>Hurr fucking alcoholics anonymous members shilling for bud lite durr

I quit when Blizzard went full retard and added Blood elf paladins to the Horde. Killed the game for me.

Wow classic will be fun but it won't be anywhere near as fun. A huge part of wow classic that people refuse to admit is that none of us knew the best of the best way to do everything until the game had been out for ages.

Now everyone is gonna go into it knowing exactly what class is the best, what to bring to raids, what to spec and it'll be just another version of live where it's basically just a glorified version of ilvl where faggots are insanely exclusive to whatever the min max is.

Reality of the scenario is that it's just not the game, the internet as a whole just operates differently than it did back in the day of original wow

WoW has been so fucked on a fundamental level that it can never be unfucked again. I don't even know how it's possible for the nu-Blizzard team to be so fucking incompetent. There were some good features like glyphs, AoE looting and dual-spec, but it was drowned in all the bullshit.

But then again WoW has been in planned decline since WotLK, so shitting it up is probably intentional.

I'll check out classic and hope I find a guild that is fast enough to clear the raids I missed back then (BWL, AQ40, Naxx) before Blizzard shits it up again.

I kind of liked the thing they did for a short time where the raid difficulty changed through in-game factors. It wasn't like a menu thing. On Sartharion the Onyx Guardian he had 3 minibosses surrounding him, and if you left them alive before engaging him they would join the fight periodically and that was basically the "hard mode". It was neat

considered quitting during TotC in WotLK but held on and played through Icecrown, then quit near the beginning of Cataclysm. Was already extremely jaded by class homogenization throughout WotLK and once I saw the arcade UI in Cata I knew it was time to bail

Yeah they should've continued along that path but I think I remember reading about the devs saying that you can only make so many hard mode "buttons" or fight variations before it gets old. Sure, it was a fair point but nobody was asking for them to have a hard mode on every single boss, just on some of the more out there encounters once or twice every raid tier.

I also have a pretty strong feeling that even if they had overdone it to the point that almost every boss in every raid tier had some kind of switch it would still be better than the current 4 difficulty split, ilvl bloating shitshow.

>What made you decide to free yourself from WoW?
The subscription, I would still play if there wasn't one

I completely disagree.
>unbalanced weekly affixes, sometimes they're piss-easy, sometimes people will even avoid running them
>low mythic+ keys can be run with random retards for the most time to get it over with, but still can be fucked because of a random shitter or two
>high mythic+ keys are only good for running in a closed group, usually your guild or close friends, so you end up with similar hassles to running a raid, less issues with number gathering, more issues with getting angry at teammates for messing up
>very few rewards that only start getting good after grinding the keys, or alternatively you have to keep it high doing it at least once weekly
>locked to dungeons, and some can be really annoying because of a specific part or affix
>even after preparing everything properly, knowing everything and playing perfectly, some affixes can line up and destroy your run
>even if you don't get fucked by that, someone disconnecting for whatever reason can still fuck up your key
>high end rewards compete and sometimes outdo high end raid rewards, and lots of BiS are locked to m+ rewards, and are extremely low chance to get while annoying raiders
>some shitter that lucked out can end up with BiS gear (this is also a general titanforging problem with Legion anyways)

Don't forget that m+ completely ruins any chance of getting interesting dungeons since they're all literally made with the m+ rat race in mind.

I always played Gnome characters when I was Alliance and I would unironically make a Mecha Gnome if I still played Alliance or WoW in general

the first time in wotlk I was just not having fun with the game and the guild i was in had pretty much left as well.

the 2nd time i figured id give it another shot since I was curious. bfa just sucks for several reasons im sure people in this thread have already mentioned. glad i didnt sink as much time as i thought i was going to.

I think they did a good job with the dungeons, considering they had to "mythic+fy them", but yeah, Karazhan for example was really fucking cool, until they mythic+fied it

Done a few raid as healer. What is the best way to heal people, click on their char and heal or portrait?

Classic.

>What made you decide to free yourself from WoW?

When they nerf raped warrior in 2007

Group/raid portraits, you can also get addons or write macros that let you cast spells on targets/portraits that you hover your mouse on.

Thanks

Phasing wasn't until legion due to WoD launch shitstorm
WotLK raids were much more complex than BC/vanilla

Because you only needed 1 button to maximize dps. At least tbc changed it for all classes except warlock which only used shadowbolt

when they were gonna "fix" leveling and it was still easy as shit

>that feel when got so used to mouseover healing in WoW that as soon as I tried being a healer in an MMO where you can't do that I couldn't heal for shit

Attached: Dolph disappointed.jpg (923x530, 45K)

Only thing that really keeps me going is just the guild I'm playing with.

The idea itself is fine, but BFA's dungeon design, despite being designed with m+ in mind, is pretty awful and just slapping the Legion affixes onto them with zero thought didn't help either.

Attached: Go back.jpg (140x56, 3K)

This. Wow went to shit during wotlick

>Imagine if any of the named characters had this sort of kill count.

Never actually thought about this, it's fucking hilarious to think about

Legion class changes made me quit my SPriest main of 6 years because void form is fuucking stupid.

Legion itself was okay when I rolled a lock and questing through Suramar was actually really fun. After getting my argus clear from some twitch streamer I realized that I dont wanna do this shit over again in BFA and didnt pre-order.

Personal loot is fine but forcing it is absolutely insane.

When my guild disbanded and they nerfed grounding totem in Cataclysm.
Fuck heroic Nefarian and fuck heroic Al Akir too

>community development
This used to be something people did for free

Shadow Priest was a blast late Legion. You could get a ton of stacks and have insane amounts of haste.

This is why I got bored and quit.

Are the Druid posters here? I need the most OP Druid spec

Nothing.

I just stopped playing during mid-Legion.

It wasn't a decision, I just stopped caring. The most fun part I enjoyed in the game, PvE twinking of 60/70/80/99 characters has been completely butchered. WoW was a part of my daily life for about 10years+ and eventually you'll get bored to it.

Removing the serverwide chat channel also killed the feel of community.

>Guardian is still dead in the water (Might be playable in 8.2)
>What's a Feral
>Boomkin, the only Druid DPS spec
>Resto, the best m+ healer

Got bored because I'm not a raider anymore. I'll probably go back for 8.2 for Gnome shenanigans.

I'm enjoying my time by playing a single-player modded private server for WoTLK. Even though WoTLK had some bad shit in it, some of the leveling zones were patrician as fvck - especially Grizzly Hills.

>To have fun you have to play with good players
>no mate that plays wow

>Allied races

Around the start of Mists the game felt more like a job than a game so i quit.

WTF IS THIS

I played from TBC to late Cata, burned out for reasons unrelated to the game itself, then picked it up again in late MoP and played on-and-off until halfway through Legion.

Ultimately quit Legion because I was frustrated with the shitty class balance, problems with my class going un-fixed patch after patch after patch, and the shitty RNG legendaries.

I want a female Gnome wife so badly.

Attached: Gnome female.png (1080x1920, 2.38M)

I didn't mind the daily quests, it was something to do but since the game now revolves around WQ's and that's the main point of getting reputation it sucks.
Netherwing was what I prefered, a grind that took time but had a questline that introduced everything and gave a bit of rep.

>was doing mythic KJ
>my guild fell apart
>haven't played since

I have no intention of going back. The only way I would check it out again is if TF/WF was gone, LFR got removed and Heroic/Normal were merged. There were far less methods of gaining loot. Raid loots would have to be the absolute best PvE gear you can get. Mythic+ was removed or completely re-worked so that the gear you get from that isn't comparable to Mythic raids. World Quests were gotten rid of and replaced with something actually interesting. Classes were UNPRUNED. Honestly there's so much more I can list that it's not even worth it. There's no chance any of these changes will happening in retail wow.

Attached: 2lbtv70heqw21.jpg (680x669, 68K)

This was retarded change that benefited nobody.
Read the Method post after Jaina mythic kill, they spent tens of millions of gold to gear alts, get professions, transfer to different servers etc etc just in order to game the system and funnel loot to their mains on the first week of Battle for Dazar'Alor. Something that would be trivial with master looter. It's crazy stupid.

Reminds me of Darkheart Thicket where a guy managed to stealth to the last boss that had an absurd amount of hp, like 15 million or, more than the Mythic Gul'Dan in Nighthold.

A smash thread died for one of those WoW threads. And that's a good thing.

Attached: Screen Shot 2019-05-10 at 11.45.29 PM.png (929x580, 275K)

The first time Yea Forums discovered Wurm Online and we invaded some poor dude's land. I had fun, which I hadn't experienced and n WoW since early BC. Cancelled my sub that very night.

I got dragged back in to raid with my roommates, and ended up sticking around through force of habit until.MoP. Reached level cap, ran my farm until I hit exalted with those farmers, then quit.

Hitting level cap is when I quit most MMOs rhese days.

I can pinpoint the exact moment WoW died for me. It was maybe a week in of Trial of Crusaders patch 3.2.

Daily quests is one of the single worst mechanics ever conceived in games. It has no upsides for the player. Its only purpose is to restrict your freedom, limit your choices so the jews can jew you longer.

All the retards defending daily quests were apparently too dumb to realize that if you wanted to fly 30 minutes to Winterspring, kill 10 mobs, hearth back and do this every single fucking day for a year and a half YOU ALREADY HAD TO OPTION TO DO SO. Nobody forced anyone to farm 15 hours per day over a week. You decided the pace at which you grinded on your own.

Netherwing stuff was great, but not because of the dailies. The mines had pretty cool leveldesign, too. The last "boss" was retarded though. You had to memorize his route and fly ahead of him or he would randomly despawn and fail the quest, also the meteors had shitty hitboxes.

sounds like you want Classic

>Time gating your drip feed of gear dopamine to the exact amount it takes to keep you subed.
>better
Nah

>3.1 has a fucking amazing raid, arguably the best raid in the entire game's history
>followed up by what is considered one of the worst raids in the game's history

the absolute madman Blizzard

I got on the legion train way too late after quitting in WoD so I never got to use the artifact talents. It seemed neat.

I'll probably mess around in Classic again and I really hope it can hook me like it did when it first came out. After trying out multiple private servers I haven't gotten hooked again like I thought I would. Hopefully that's just because it's the whole "my character doesn't matter" feeling I get on private servers.

I personally wish they will go OSRS route and do Classic+... than again I don't trust Nu-Blizzard to not fuck that up

Sounds like it bennefited Blizzards bottom line

>we dried up all the materials on not just our server, but many others, we spent about 10,000 dollars on server transfers to move it all around, we also spend several billion gold gearing up alts with various professions, the guild is now in serious debt, we owe a lot of people a lot of gold
>but at least we got world first Jaina

Yeah I see lots of people saying Blizz should add new content to vanilla but....do you seriously trust nuBlizz to make good content? lol

>introduce a bunch of new skills that made playing your class a lot more engaging
>legendaries also added some fun skills/interactions
>LOL FUCK THAT PRUNE ALL ARTIFACT TALENTS AND LEGGO SKILLS IN BFA
>know what? FUCK EM, PUT IN A RETARDED GCD SYSTEM IN ALSO

I genuinely think Blizzard is trying to kill their own game. Or they are making it as brain dead as possible so they can release WoW 2 mobile

Attached: 1557122645364s.jpg (125x120, 2K)

The meme warlock tank glyph was absolutely nowhere near usable you drooling retard

You were better off just mass pulling on destro and soul leeching through with a voidwalker. You're so god damn stupid.

Just sucks thinking that there's nothing in the future. That's the beauty of MMOs they can always expand. TBC wasn't that bad but it started the downfall of the game

Asmongold said at the time, and I think I believe him now, that Blizzard only removed GCDs so they could add them back in next expansion and make it a feature.

When I tried getting into it and was rushed to use my level boost because my guildies told me leveling wasn't worth doing. Killed my enjoyment of the game completely.

The beauty of a never-ending vanilla is that you can be assured that the class balance will always be the same.

Something I really hated about modern WoW is that class balance swings like a fucking pendulum with every major patch, shit's always changing and being re-adjusted and the class that was garbage 2 months ago is now top-tier.

The netherwing mine was literally just copy pasted. I'm pretty sure the same mine exists in the blasted lands and stonetalon

yea they're known to do that

That's true. Guess there's good and bad in all situations. The whole classes being the same is a huge plus I agree. I'm honestly not sure how they can do a Classic+ without it ruining the classic feel

>iconic class abilities like Circle of Healing got pruned from base spellbooks
>added back as talents

fuck nublizzard

So what's blizzard planning on releasing when june 28th (shadowbringers early access) comes around. I'm interested in the underhanded tactics they might try to screw Square over.

Attached: IMG_20190510_083808.jpg (840x1024, 110K)

Finally one of these I actually agree with

classic wow

>bunch of new skills
You mean one fire and forget CD and a bunch of %damage passives
>legendaries with fun interactions
You mean big % damage increases and CDR that makes you do the same thing but get more damage

Legion apologists need to be shot. The artifact and legendary were both literal trash

between this and the guy who said they could balance raids around 10 people instead, im starting to change my mind about M+

thanks for ruining it for me ;-;

Cata when they decided to nerf the prior dungeons and raids before Firelands came out. I rather liked the difficulty of them and saw it as Blizzard returning to the BC mindset but then this happened

>Raid Nerfs
>As discussed previously, now that players who have spent a lot of time in Throne of the Four Winds, Blackwing Descent, and Bastion of Twilight are moving on to Firelands, we wanted to make sure players who previously couldn’t progress on those raids are now able to experience them. In a way, this provides new content for everyone -- if you’re done with the 4.0 raids, you now have 4.2. If you haven’t seen the 4.0 raids yet, now’s your chance.

Nostalgia vs Hype
So what happens after Classic?
Do they just leave it as is or will they introduce story content up to a certain point?
Honestly curious because they're falling back on using the nostalgia factor whildt XIV is moving forward with its story.

Attached: 1557490891974.png (302x408, 167K)

Wow, thanks. You just confirmed classic release date.

This reminds me of when FFXIV had some major addon, and the release date was known like half a year prior. WoW had some upcoming patch, but Blizz kept silent about the release date, everyone was speculating for months, and then like 2 weeks before the FFXIV addon, BAM release date announced on the same fucking day. What a coincidence...

Here it is

us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/2580598159?page=1

PvP has been a shitfest since Cata, it's the typical Blizzard balancing.
TTK is way too high, healing and shielding makes killing anything close to impossible. Only chance you have to kill someone is to pop all your CD's and hope that they guy you're facing is retarded.

A game with high TTK and overpowered healing/shielding never feels satisfying or fun to play, just tedious and boring.

>Odyn's Fury skill
>Dragons Breath skill
>2 heroic leaps leggo
>weight of the earth leggo
>ayala's stone heart leggo
>destiny driver (great for some encounters) leggo

I'm not even mentioning all the prot ones. Look it's not huge but it actually made classes fun to play

No it's more like nostalgia AND hype. If Yoshida has any sense he will delay the release date as much as he can after the release of classic dies down.

I unlocked Dark Irons and Zandalari a month ago, can't even muster a care to level one because I have to level in the current state the game gives exp.

It's mostly zoomers and e-celeb worshipers that will play Classic.
The type of people that play FFXIV are not the same people that play WoW.

>there literally isn't anything else to play.
How to spot an addict.

A lot of the allied races features should be something added to the core races but blizzard gotta sell them off as new to chumps.

Just how it is. Any MMO or expansion that comes out near classics release will be automatically labeled as dead by the internet.

Everyone single time.

No matter how many games I would list and how many suggestions I would give you, you would just nitpick the smallest thing about them and not even try them out.
You have no intention to find or even try something else, you only use it as an excuse to keep playing your shitty game.

>So what happens after Classic?
Seasonal servers, like private servers have been doing.

>release half-mechagnomes first
>people pay to change to them
>wait a few months
>release full-mechagnomes
>people pay again

$$$

I played it for 15 minutes

imagine if vanilla wow release date is actually the 28th

>It's mostly zoomers and e-celeb worshipers that will play Classic.

>30+ year old vanilla fags who quit because WoW turned to shit
>zoomers and e-celeb worshipers

while there will be alot of zoomers to begin with, but theyll probably quit when the find out you have to read quest text

>juggernaut 99 stacks skill
Passives aren't skills you drooling mongoloid. Nor did you have to think about this, you would already be spamming execute like an ape
>Odyns Fury
yeah like I said a fire and forget. You just

didn't change anything, you have the exact same toolkit just shorter CDs. Same thing with Helya's Fury
Prot shield ability is the only thing you listed you would actually need to think about using.

Don't forget that no loot lockout makes it literally impossible to properly fit into the gearing curve along side raiding with a weekly lockout. M+ is the cornerstone of the titanforging mess

What were they thinking with this god forsaken allied race? Like, fuck cool races like Sethrak, instead we get a disgusting version of an already extremely unpopular race.

OH MY GOD HAHAHAHA

You think allied races are any better? less effort and far less customization.

Quit during the first patch of Warlords of Draenor.

I just didn't find it fun anymore, bosses and dungeons were generic as hell.

More news at 11.

Titan's Grip is the single most retarded raping of class fantasy that Blizzard ever committed to, which ruined the aesthetic of Fury forever and was the catalyst for me to drop the game.

Attached: durrrr.jpg (628x424, 86K)

CC was only needed in Cata for like two weeks before Blizz backed down and nerfed everything.

None of them made warrior good or fun to play, except maybe the shoulders, and you wouldn't use them even out in the world because a talent did the same thing more conveniently. They made the class horribly gimmicky or RNG dependant.

>youre a normalfag if you dont like otaku bait

I never said anything was wrong with anime, retard. The problem is you, you fucking faggot.

Blizzard is so fucking cancerous holy shit. People act like loot boxes and cosmetic shops are their worst crimes but I look at literally everything they've done and it shows them as even more greedy and insufferable. I'm cancelling my sub, I'm done with this shit.

a job where I earn 3x average salary

I didn't play PandaWoW during release but leveling through it after the fact was enjoyable. Same thing with Legion. At least they tried.

Trannies are the worst. You know that wojack picture depicting a trannies room? Something from /xivg/ posted a picture showing their arm mutilated with cuts. The cuts were a message stating "CHANGE THE DISCORD OP" along with a timestamp etched into their arm. The background was only illuminated by their phones camera light, showing a shagga nasty bed and a wall with brown stains.

Attached: 1557417932154.jpg (705x717, 446K)

Would prefer this way more than abomination in OP we ended up with tbqh.

They're still called gnomes is the difference.

holy shit youre such a stupid newfag its unreal. That picture has been floating around a dozen generals for years now

I only stay for the story and fucking around. The actual gameplay isn’t fun and solo content isn’t challenging so that’s the core problem.

I wish female humans were real.

That's when I stopped raiding. Still played a bit and Legion and thought that it was pretty good after the trash fire that was WoD, but then they somehow made something worse than WoD which is an achievement in itself.

When they removed level 1 40-man raids.

>muh sekrit club
Listen, why are you throwing such a fit over this image description. You could've said "that image isn't new but yeah they're disgusting freaks" instead of going off like a neet autist.

Dude, are you TOO POOR to buy the levelup token LMAOOOOOOOOO only 50 EUR HAHA

>not transmogging over it with the weapon of your choice

i agree, it's retarded

It's 80 in CAD, which is also the full price of a newly released game.

Not that I would buy it if it was $30. I'm phone posting and my area is banned but I' would post a picture of something in pain and crying if I could.

You are all wrong.

WoW is shit now because it's an amalgam of about a dozens of games with a fucking myriad of mini-systems, mini-events, special difficulty-tiers, ... you name it.

It doesn't feel like a world. It feels like an conglomerate of games that happen to be in the same engine.

A big fucking whore that tries to suck everybody's dick. Yet there are too many dicks to suck (read: opinions to satisfy) so nobody really gets hard.

this was just after wotlk, but that doesn't matter because I never reached any high-level content anyway.

That's when streamlining dungeons began. End content turned into a an even bigger grind that it collapsed in on itself.

Let's be real, it's not that good looking of a sword.

I like it

Exactly. And people wonder "wut did kill wow".

Fucking. Like same bro omg same. Just felt the floor fell out under me

I just resubbed and am lvl 114. The drustvar area is quite enjoyable

It looks good on a goat. The BoP appearance is cool as well.

>Literally no changes to character customization for 15 years

Didnt night and blood elves get new eye/face options?

why do you guys dislike it? honestly i loved the concept of it, seemed pretty cool for a warrior aesthetic, but blizz's shitty attempts to balance it were fucking retarded i will admit. also the fact that it straight-up removed 1h fury was pretty lame.

Attached: 1501377411045.jpg (805x600, 541K)

The concept of dual wielding 2handers on the specialized warrior str class/spec is awesome but forcing it was dumbing

The ass fucking retarded plot of BfA broke me. So much potential flushed down the toilet just so Christie Golden could continue humping Anduin.

I want to impregnate a goat

Same, just hit level 98, never played WoD before but if it was good for anything it was being a transitional questing area. Yrel is pretty cute so far so yeah

>Cata hits.

It was no fun without my friends and I had no interest in the story to keep me going.
Came back briefly for wod because some of my friends returned, we did highmaul but everyone left in droves again.
I quested through legion but was not arsed to join a guild and raid.

The game freed me by being shit and I was addicted, I was willing to dedicate my life to wow.

>expected Horde versus Alliance
>got stronk independent women who don't need no men

Suffering

The problem with WoD was no content past the fucking launch. BRF was part of the first tier, pushed back because there was nothing to do, then Tanaan was changed to be the final patch of the expansion. A lot of things were cut and a lot of resources and dev time spent on things that never saw the light of day. Even what we got at the start was radically different from what was promised. It really could have been something great.

Why is this macro no work, I can't hover over people and heal them, I need to click on them firsrt

#showtooltip
/cast [target=mouseover, help] flash heal; [help] flash heal; flash heal

Am I doing something wrong?

Personal loot does nothing but piss people off.

>play fire mage
>my primary stats are crit and mastery
>personal loot gives me a +5 upgrade that is haste and vers
>Can't give it to someone who actually can use it as an upgrade because of personal loot

Real talk though, personal loot is fine for PUGs, but forcing it on dedicated group is retarded, as poopsockers will break the system any way they can, and personal loot wasn't really designed to stop ninja looting, it was designed to stop split runs, which isn't a problem with loot, its a problem with the fact that you can farm heroic mode of the same raid for mythic level gear with titanforging, and blizzard only forced personal loot down people's throats because it 'fixes' a problem with Ion Hozzikostas's precious world first race despite the fact that it is literally killing guilds like a cancer more so then the rampant reduction in group sizes from vanilla - cata ever did.

found the autist

Attached: Purge.jpg (320x320, 8K)

Don't forget that they upped the total quantity of loot in personal loot and then STILL nobody wanted it so they forced it

>New recruit gets an upgrade for his class and spec
>guild leader tells it to give it to someone else or else he's kicked from the group or guild because he's not a core mythic member yet
>drama ensues
>If ML was enabled the core healer would have gotten the item and the new member would have likely gotten another peice of gear, maybe even more later on in the raid.

#showtooltip
/cast [target=mouseover, exists, help] flash heal; flash heal

not sure if help includes the exists conditional, but if it doesn't this might fix it. you shouldn't need the second help or flash heal.

I'm enjoying XIV so far, maybe because it's still new to me. It has some good features, but why are so many players gay and/or leftist?

Attached: 471.png (500x309, 181K)

I have no idea, especially when it's a Japanese game and the plot promotes xenophobia and racism constantly.

>Force personal loot to prevent heroic splitfarming
>instead the autismos do this
youtube.com/watch?v=BlF58st2Vsg

Now blizzard will probably nerf professions to be nothing but toys and cosmetics since method broke professions to win world first.

Attached: 475821.jpg (1900x2650, 164K)

I assume it's because you can make some pretty faggy looking characters in it if you want.

Honestly this, Isle of Thunder was much better, content wise.

>Timeless isle was good meme
Only good part about timeless isle was ganking people since it removed flying and enabled FFA PVP

Attached: 553008518601375746.png (128x128, 36K)

>plot promotes xenophobia and racism constantly

Attached: 457457.png (739x707, 766K)

thx

I wouldn't know FFXIV even had expansions if I didn't come to WoW threads.

Classic will unironically kill retail. The gane is fucking NOTHING that made it good in the first place everything is a slot nachine nothing feels good to earn if they at the bare minimum made classes fun to play they could turn this around.

Warlords of Draenor was the last time I gave the game a chance.

Never again.

Attached: WHY-complaints.png (569x629, 656K)

How do you ironically kill something?

Blizzard will always make more expansions for retail. It will never die. Sad.

Actiblizz is fucking stupid, they'll actually kill their own game. I suppose they anticipate increased subs will negate the loss of nu-WoW shit

How do you know? I've played for 3 years and besides a couple of search infos I willingly looked into and 1 static member I've come across no one openly gay or leftist.

wtf is this the grox?

>sneakers

Jesus Christ, how retarded.

that's a yikes from me, dawg

I'm playing on EU, maybe it's worse there? "LGTB" guilds, and constant anti-brexit talk in the novice network, and they're taking the "it was misogynistic" side on Gamergate.
It's pretty cancer

>"Classic will kill Retail"
>Classic is a benefit of being subscribed to the actual game
That's not even taking into consideration the fact that calling the real game "retail" makes no sense given nobody fucking buys games on CDs anymore.

Attached: big think.png (498x449, 151K)

Are you talking about DKs or rogues?

I think you are overestimating how much people will enjoy the vanilla experience. Most of the modern mmo audience doesn't have the patience for that kind of shit anymore.

seeing everyone with an ashbringer made me very angry

WoD honestly sounds like how Stormblood has been in FFXIV so far, god it's so shit, all 3 classes they added since it's released are fucking butchered mockeries if what they're supposed to be, especially the blue mage, oh my fucking lord how the fucking did the blue mage dirty, it's literally a minigame amd cant play in on-level content

Arcane mages.

nu-wow is a benefit to being subscribed to the actual game

Attached: 4751821425714257.png (550x550, 444K)

I play EU too. I have fuckall idea of what goes on in the novice network and have player names shortened, but I'd wager LEGITBBQ guilds are a problem in most MMOs. I have to socialize a fair bit because of raiding and most people I come across are perfectly normal and don't bring out politics unprovoked.

It's no worse than your average public space nowadays.

You'll get over the game when you realize the experience you're having right now is literally the exact same experience you'll be having at endgame

What? Fun?

You'd have to add everyone with a resource other than mana to that.

Maybe it's not as bad as I thought. I might just have gotten the wrong first impression

What level are you?

18 (4 strength 4 stam)

How did you feel going into a raid and seeing everyone wearing the same gear before transmog came along? There's only one Gorehowl, you know. And why the hell would it drop from Kara?

>plays weebshit
>wonders why everyone is a faggot
Holy shit nigger. How old are you?
