Do you think the definition of "retro gaming" changes between generations?
Do you think the definition of "retro gaming" changes between generations?
>block button
Yikes
Yeah it does, no shit. This board is full of zoomers whose first system was the Ps2, they think that's retro and that they're boomers.
>PS2
Boi, kids who were 4 years old when the Xbox 360 launched are 18 now. It's totally reasonable to expect you're mingling among people who can claim that as their first console.
Why didn't this retard put block on L?
Yes, the NES wasn't retro when it was new.
The problem with this discussion is that time essentially "stops" after school. People don't want to admit Halo is retro because it came out when they were in, or just out of college, so it still seems new to them.
Better question is why didn't the put it on back?
Can you fucking believe it's been 8 years since Skyrim was released? And back when it did, 8 year old games had been released in 2003?
Skyrim is almost as old for us today as WoW was at the time Skyrim was released.
Time is fucked up.

ZOOMER
I was only in 10th grade when Halo came out.
Game become retro when they distinctly become an evident product of their time. The cut for me is early 3D, as devs were trying out different things, cameras weren't quite on point, it has a distinct low poly look, and more.
6th Gen & above follows more or less the same guidelines and games really haven't evolved that much since then.
There's still a big gap between 6th and 7th.
I've got the sneaking suspicion that most of this board is now 6th gen kids and I somehow hope 7th gen kids wouldn't be quite as bad despite the fact there's definitely going to be some overlap. A vast majority of 6th gen kids came in on the Ps2 (the 150 mil console) and then dispersed during 7th gen inflating the industry numbers and supporting every bad practice that's commonplace now. When they all grew up they came here to talk about how every game pre-2000 aged poorly and how every game post-2010 is shit because the industry is supposedly so terrible now (despite being ruined by them and good games continuing to be made besides that)
DS is not retro gaming
The Walk Back button. 4. D-pad left. (controls assumes player is facing right)
Because it's Mortal Kombat. They have always had a block button.
Any fighting game that uses a block button is for casual shitters who can't handle real fighting games.
That's the joke
Wording it like this always fuck me up. It's like now, something that still feels new to me like fucking Uncharted came out over a fucking decade ago, ushering in more cinematic games. But imagining 10 years ago from the day Uncharted came out? Holy FUCK
The Pyramids were as ancient to the Ancient Greeks as the Ancient Greeks are to us.
Why?
It prevents cross-ups because they're "too hard" for babbies.
