None. 10/10 implies perfection, and no game is perfect, there’s always something that could have been made just a bit better. If you give a game 10/10, it implies that it must be so good that it would be impossible to make it better or to surpass it in its genre.

10/10 means that it was something so good that any flaws it has are nearly undefinable in the face of everything else

10/10 =/= perfect. It's a score, but it's not a grade. It's a recommendation/ranking. A 10/10 is a game that does everything it wants to do very well and doesn't fuck up any of the other aspects enough to harm the experience.

The Wonderful 101 is not a perfect game, there's some issues with some of the platforming and shmup sections, but it is a 10/10.

Mario Galaxy 2 deserves it because it started the trend of making every single level different with a new concept that isn't revisited unless it's for a specific reason and that the Galaxy formula was of extreme quality in design and music etc

For me, a 10/10 is a game that stands up to multiple playthroughs through the years. If it entertains me year after year, it has 100% fulfilled its primary function as a piece of entertainment.

That a rating system where the highest attainable score is literally impossible would be retarded. 10/10 obviously doesn't imply that it's a perfect game without flaws, but implies that the game did such a good job at accomplishing the goals it set out to accomplish that any flaws or mistakes present don't detract in any meaningful way from the overall experience.

The idea that a 10/10 is somehow impossible is ridiculous. When you're scoring something based on a 10-point system then obviously small things can't constitute an entire point on their own. If a game gets every big portion of its design right but only has minor, quibbling flaws, then it's definitely deserving of a 10/10. If the game suffered from a much larger flaw, like a bad framerate, it'd be fair to dock it points.

I'd say nothing can be 10/10 as that means perfection with no flaws and literally every game has it's flaws. Christ Centered Gamer unironically has the best method of game reviewing where it reviews individual parts of a game objectively and then on a separate score from it's review score has something like a morality that the readers might be interested in. Having separate scores means it's easier for readers to see what they might like in a game.

10/10 doesn't have to imply perfection. It can just imply that "this game has done things no other game has so far yet, but in a good way." It can just imply that it's one of the games that are pushing the boundary.
