If horror is more about emotion, where did we start with emotion? And I think that's why so many people play horror, because it's been a genre for so long and we're still very much in it.

The horror genre is all about character that we, as players, have that need, we know that's what we're talking about, but what has the horror genre been doing to our society over the past 100 years if not a very clear idea of what it means in its own right.

I think even the more obvious, very obvious, terrible things that we might do as players are still incredibly important and need to be part of our storytelling. It also speaks to the things I've been writing in terms of the fear within our society in terms of mass hysteria and the things that we do to each other that are all related in an emotional way.

user, we had this conversation 10 years ago. The answer was that Amnesia was the only real horror game left, and if we didn't support their release Frictional would be out of business and we would just have 10+ years of jumpscare nonsense. Anyway, it sold real well, and we saved horror, and that's why horror is such a good genre these days.
