I couldn't believe they actually modeled genitals on him. What was the point? There's actually a few scenes in the movie where you can briefly see his anus peeking out from under his tail or his small furred scrotum hung limply from his underside.

he doesn't say shit, just hell and damn

The Blaziken sex scene was out of nowhere and made the whole theater awkward.

Bullshit

this and the home alone references were off-putting

he cute

When psyduck freaking out and uses a move he says “he’s gonna blow his shit”

>that one scene with the abortion stuff

I dont fucking believe you

Danny Devito said he'd love to do it but felt he wouldn't do it justice since he's completely unfamiliar with pokemon

still shots look great but when he strains his face it looks fucking horrible, like its a hand puppet and they clenched their fist

Attached: i seriously hope you guys don't watch this.png (386x321, 262K)

He literally said “what the fuck is a pikachu?” When asked about it.

should've said eevee

WATCH YOUR FUCKING LANGUAGE

They ruined the movie with the tranny propaganda

I thought he said that as well, but assumed I misheard

Felt so wrong until I remembered that there are pokémon that canonically like to:
>Steal childrean
>Burn your soul and leave your dead body behind
>Suck every body fluid in your body
>Hug their trainers so hard they break in half
>Slice its prey to pieces
Pokémon is fucked

Based

Looks like nintendo is gonna be embroiled with a war against angry parents soon.

Was it fun?

Shittin' Hell!

>"I'm tired of all these fucking kikes and niggers ruining Rhyme City!"
Whoa, can't believe they let Pikachu say that

Attached: download (3).jpg (275x183, 6K)

There isn’t one.

But there a cocaine joke and there’s a point we’re pikachu mentions that he doesn’t like being grabbed because he says “I don’t like getting people’s fingers inside of me”
Btw these two were in the same scene

Based Pika "suck the cock get the shock" Chu.

Detective Pikachu is literally an old ass Pikachu who did detective work with Tim's father.
There's no surprise he swears in his line of work and age.

What does Mewtwo's voice sound like?

>despite being 6.7% of the pokemon population, dark types seem to commit the most crime
What did Pikachu mean by this?

Attached: 1555789034215.png (250x250, 125K)

I thought it was pretty inappropriate when he started denying the rape of Nanjing.

>"DARK TYPES OR NIGGERS AS I LIKE TO CALL THEM"
I can't believe they did it.

Attached: 1536460123425.jpg (620x444, 28K)

Well, look at what animals do out there.

Also, remember that the idea for Pokémon stems from Japanese children collecting bugs to have them fight each other to the death.

Spider-Man wasn't Raimi's only interest growing up.

>says "hell" and "shit"
>doesn't say "trans rights"

Not watching this bigoted trash.

that scene where they dump gasoline on Mr.Mime and light him up.

it’s filtered but it’s just a deepish whispery voice

Raimi went too far with that one.

Tfw this is so absurd that people that didn’t see the movie think that it’s just shitpost.

The credits had sugimori style art of the characters and it was pretty dope

>mfw i thought it was water

Attached: AEBEF99D-EEBA-4CD2-990B-8F7DE9ACD129.jpg (542x520, 52K)

Tfw this was actually a good movie

Im legitmately surprised that scene still had more shit despite what the trailers showed

Can't made a pokéomelette without breaking a few pokéeggs, Tim!

It was mime gasoline tho

Pikachu is like 60yo in the movie. Hence the wrinkles

I was howling at that scene. Fucking kino

About that......uh......no im not going to say anything

But it's worth noting that a lot of the trailer scenes, are actually edited from the final idea

I think it looks cute as fuck.

>They even tried to stick a finger in me
>Ah man it mustve been all that stuff i sniffed up

Bro, this fucking dialogue is killing me

Wasi it good?

>they dropped the fucking match right in front of the camera and mr. mime
>mime's expression of horror in perfect view
How did Raimi get away with it?

Tfw pikachu referred psyduck as the “the fat man of Hiroshima”

>That Scene at the club where The fucking R gas gets unloaded in the entire fucking place making all the pokemon rampage

This shit right here is what i fear about Pokemon being real

>when the magikarp evolves into gyarados

I would say yes

The plot is self is both safe yet insane
but the movie really shines in the world building, the pokemon and more importantly the writing.

Tim and Pikachu's interactions and chemistry is easily the best shit in existence, SO much better than the actual game.

The plot was surprising and what the "Big Bad Villain" was trying to do is both retarded but also out of left field that it worked.

drugs?

That Ditto scene was fucking horrifying

Cant believe no one else thinks this is a cringe fest.
>uncanny valley pokemon
>the "humor"
>a 44 year old grizzled man of a pikachu
it looks as bad as the sonic movie lmao

That shit was perfect.

It’s actually way better than I thought it would be. It’s no master piece but I recommend it.

Technically yes

This movie references drugs more than once and keep in mind this shit is still PG

>everyone calls magikarp useless
>ten seconds later it evolves and everyone starts whimpering like a little bitch including charzard

Yeah it was weird. Gave me flashbacks to late 90s/early 2000s kid's films with uncanny CG. I heard a child become audibly upset by it

You literally sound like a 12 year old

>the ditto scene

Genuinely unsettling

Is the coffee a metaphor for alcohol?

Detective Pikachu is an alcoholic PI.

Give it to me straight

Is the Theory of Ditto being the real villain correct?

Favorite part was when Pikachu turned the wet bandits into the sticky bandits

No it's a mess

I can't believe Koffing is fucking dead

Ditto is the villain's pokemon, not the "Real" Villain

The ditto girl was hot though. The eyes weren't that bad.

>461699886
Work harder for your (you)s
that wasn't good enough

Sorta, Ditto helps the main villain

So all gen 1 Pokemon?
As it fucking should be.

no he’s not the main villain, but the main villain has a ditto the they use a lot. There a scene where they transform into humans and they still have the ditto face

They hid Ditto's involvement by having all the characters it changes to wear sunglasses, to make the reveal of his eyes

That was pretty fucking Kino

I liked it but the part where Pikachu calls Jynx a "stupid nigress" caught me completely off guard.

Spoilers: no, but he's the henchman of the real villain. Since the villain bio-engineers Pokémon, his Ditto was modified to be able to turn into humans as well and the villain uses it to cover for himself by making it look like someone else is responsible. The Ditto still keeps beady eyes when transformed so a hint that a human character is in fact the Ditto is that they're always wearing sunglasses. Towards the end the Ditto also turns cycles between various other Pokémon transformations to battle the protagonist.

I hope they keep Ditto desu. He was amazing. The Torterra too.

Nigger, have you not seen a single fucking trailer of this movie?

>Suck every body fluid in your body
You do mean EVERY fluid right?

Attached: 1518670546586.png (709x447, 359K)

>that jab at climate change denial during the torterra scene
It was pretty funny for how absurd and out of place it was.

How is this vidya related?

>tfw i don't know how many are serious and how many are just memeing

They don’t really pick favorites, every gen has a handful of Pokémon in it.

It starts with your blood so you're dead by the time it gets to your dick

The whole film has that tone, really. Everything just feels off-kilter

Yes, even your cum

>That fucking giant earthquake in the trailer was actually The Growth Torterra experiments

Holy shit man

>watching ads

Attached: 1553352946610.gif (460x308, 2.16M)

>I can't believe I'm inviting someone up to my place for the first time
>I'm not that kind of Pokemon
At least Detective Pikachu is not a degenerate.

how much retarded wokeness do you think they'll cram in, im waiting for a black lives matter referencce

the scene where they started lynching all the Jynxs was pretty fucked up not gonna lie

>user is denied his boner even in death
pathetic incels will never get laid lol

i thinks its cacturne

One of the best things about the movie is that it doesn't particularly pander to gen 1. There are more gen 1 Pokémon than from other gens, but some of that is just being faithful to the game by including characters like Pikachu, Mewtwo and Charizard. There are many Pokémon from other gens that make both small and big appearences such as Aipom, Ludicolo, Torterra, Bouffalant, Greninja and Morelull.

the only plus about this movie is the influx of pikachu porn

user! It's supposed to be funny!! XD You know western humor is the best!

So apparently they already greenlit and plan to make a sequel

Except, how the fuck would that work? If you watched the movie you know they technically can't do that again with the same cast.

BULBASAUR NO

Attached: Dxe69DhV4AEis7e.jpg (326x326, 18K)

Surprisingly race has no part in it.

You're asking how a vidya movie is vidya related?

Is my boy in the movie?

Attached: fug.jpg (195x259, 9K)

I enjoyed the Pokemon strip club

If it's obvious shitposting, they didn't watch the movie

There's nothing really bad about it unless you want to be cynical and hate Pokemon to begin with

Yes
On a sticker

>fug and fug posters
>relevant
Sucks to be you. No.

>surprisingly
Not really considering how protective The Pokémon Company was with the script. They let some adult-oriented jokes slide, but they weren't going to let political bullshit in.

So anons, did your favorite pokemon get a cameo?

Totodile was in a photo and Tim had a Feraligatr poster as a child so im good

HE'S GONNA SAY IT

>male pokemon using attract on another male
That fight felt kinda awkward

Attached: t.jpg (244x154, 20K)

>having a male Gardevoir joke is somehow tranny propaganda
Wow aren't you smart user

>Ken Sugimori artwork for the human and Pokémon in the movie during the credits
Caught me by surprise and was awesome.

Are they any legendaries/mythicals in the movie?

In the credits they listed a male and female as the voice so probably just layered on top of each other

No legendarys except Mewtwo, palkia and dialga

Audino got some big shots in. I'll be happy with that.

GARDEVOIR IS IN THE MOVIE!?

Main villain looked pretty great in that style

It's not Ash's Pikachu

I actually can't remember. I'm sure Alakazam was in there somewhere if I had paid more attention.

Only Mewtwo, like in the game. There are several that don't show up in person but are on posters or statues such as Articuno, Mew, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Arceus, Reshiram and Zekrom.

60yo and still hasn't evolved. Is he such a poor fag that he can't just buy a fucking stone?

Zekrom and Reshiram appear in a poster

I've just got back from watching it and I can confirm that it's a very confused and strange movie with some nice inspired stuff like the English dub theme music being re-contextualised as a news channel's theme but an equal amount of really stupid and uninspired stuff that ruin it, like Pikachu literally singing that theme song when he's depressed, for no reason other than "hey remember this? sing along!"

Tim was such a great character that i enjoyed seeing that, i know it probably won't happen but seeing Tim in Sword and Shield as even a references would be cool

Just Mewtwo. Palkia, Dialga, and Arceus appear as statues.
Rayquaza, Reshiram, and Zekrom are all on posters at some point.

Hoskins did great and he had no idea who fucking Mario was. This shit isn't complicated. The character itself had nothing to do with Pikachu.

Why is Pikachu so fucking cute

>That scene where they have Weezing use Poison Gas on the room full of Hypnos and Probopass
What did they mean by that?

No ;_;

Attached: 212Scizor.png (1080x1080, 487K)

>Doug Walker will have to review a Hollywood Pokémon film

Attached: 3472374.png (590x609, 618K)

It's just a silly reference, like the one in the game where Detective Pikachu randomly meets Ash's Pikachu.

I bet Rogersbase orgasmed at the Lickitung scene

That rathalos on pikachu 69 came out of nowhere desu

>howling
Like a monkey? (Or niggers, as I prefer to call them)

The game versions of the characters should be in mainline. They don't deserve to be treated like Miror B.

DID BEEDRILL, VOLCARONA OR SCOLIPEDE APPEAR?

>news anchor had a Probopass

More like he just didn't want to do it. I doubt he was an expert on greek mythology when he played Phil.

Attached: 4139.png (750x650, 259K)

So if Pokemon do human jobs in Ryme city, what jobs would you give to certain pokemon?

>that part where Pikachu tries to convert Tim to Arceusism
Wow really?

so... uh... do I really have to watch it?
I thought it was crap or something

wow, based

I bet Rogersbase orgasmed for all 100 minutes considering he's such an easy to please fanboy.

What did Yea Forums think of it? I said no and the guy joked that the tears must have been CGI.

fucking adblock you piece of shit

Attached: snapshot_18.42_[2016.12.23_03.26.33].png (1920x1080, 1.17M)

You're funposting but Pikachu does use Arceus as a stand-in word for god at one point (and he also says 'Oh my god' in another scene so he is indeed referring to Arceus as god).

Nobody is forcing you because you’re not a sheep (right?)
Anyway the movie is pretty good. If you wanna see it, it’s on you

It was alright. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it, but it was alright.

The scene at the Day Care where you see all the Dittos "working" was kinda fucked up and out of left field. We all know it happens but to be confronted by it on screen is another thing.

Ash's Pikachu probably says "Hell" and "Shit" all the time. He's a cheeky bastard

: )

I enjoyed it but I wouldn't say its good.

It was pretty poor, so no.

I didn't cry or anything, but it was a pretty heartfelt scene, not even ruined by forcing jokes in it. I was mostly surprised by how they gave Tim an actual character since he was a wet blanket meant for self-inserting in the game.

Try looking at a still image of someone making a expression

to be fair I was just waiting for the torrent but hey maybe I'll talk with some friends get baked and go watch it

The movie unironically does a better job at not Gen I pandering than the past two generations of Pokemon have which is something I find both impressive and sad

Who the fuck doesnt know the basics of greek and Roman Mythology

>Bought ticket last night
>this morning found out theater was closed because projectors were damaged from the heavy rain the night before
How the fuck does that even happen?

greeks
italians
fucking Venice

I like to think Ash's Pikachu calls him a retard all the time

Is it an outdoor theater like a drive in?

>having a favorite pokemon outside of the starter or at best one of the legendary ones
Literally how

Don't worry kid, eventually you'll grow out of the phase where you can't enjoy childish things.
We've all been there in our teens.

Does zeraora or lucario show up at all during the movie

Disney, considering Philoctetes wasn't even a satyr.

>All it takes is a little kick.
I liked all of the little nods.

Attached: 353455.png (199x275, 97K)

Nope. The only gen 7 mons in all are background Morelull and Comfrey.

No, that's why I'm so confused. I could understand it if only one of the auditoriums was unavailable, but they all were. How the fuck does that happen?

Maybe don't play the games just by using your starter and using Repel on all wild Pokémon? You're bound to find your bro as you're playing.

Nightmare Fuel
That scene where the main old villain takes control of Mewtwo's body and grows a mouth, then screams about eating the heroes.

Very nice choice.

>You really think it's Brigit that runs Pokemon Bank?

No :(

But my 2nd favourite did, Electabuzz was on a poster, and in the parade shadow graphics.

>Reshiram
youtube.com/watch?v=lPyhlybViJw

I did that in Emerald and absolutely nothing stood out to me in that game aside from my starter, a shiny taillow I got due to it's novelty and Rayquaza. Every other pokemon just blended together for me since what's the real point in getting attached when you'll just throw them in a bin later on once they stop being as effective against gyms and newer pokemon come around.

>A reporter named Cynthia is in the movie
No, there is only one Cynthia in the world of Pokémon and that's the sinnoh champion

There are definitely shitmons, especially in the early game, but the main adventure is always easy enough that you can make almost any Pokémon work if you put in some effort. At least that's how it is for most people.

Post yfw NOT ALL HUMANS ARE BAD

Attached: 1556994761101.jpg (1564x1073, 341K)

You might say it's an very intimidating Pokémon

It's always a good lesson and I like it whenever Mewtwo is shown to be good-natured and helpful despite some humans always trying to abuse his powers.

Attached: b0e0de8665cf.gif (500x282, 1021K)

I understand that it's the way you were playing, but how the fuck does a leaf dinosaur blend with a cloud bird?

>all human lives matter
didn't know mewtwo was a racist

In terms of my feelings towards them, not like their appearance or anything like that.

what is it?

>that Torterra earthquake scene
God I wish they put more battles in it

The only problem I had with it was the pacing wasn't great and the few portions where they show humans actually being Pokemon trainers just doesn't look natural. Like right at the beginning as Tim's on the train to Ryme City, they have a little info video about the city and the history of Pokemon and it shows a trainer sending out a few Pokemon, the Pokemon all look fine, but the kid just doesn't look right next to the Pokemon.

Also don't go in expecting to see a ton of new Pokemon that weren't shown off in the trailers. There's probably less than 50 Pokemon total in the movie but they're repeated a ton. If you see a Pokemon at some point, you're probably going to see it at least two to three more times before the movie is done.

Tim's father is split from Pikachu and he's played by Ryan Reynolds himself.

Then World of Final Fantasy has a little surprise for you

>Pokemon got (mild) swearing in before Mario
what a world.

Nahhh, maybe in a year or so, hell! The fact theres not an impressions/sibling rivalry video yet implies he doesnt give a shit.

im still waiting for a Ready Player One review and the obligatory IT: Chapter 2 review for nostalgiaween...WA-HAH! WA-HAH! WA-HAH!!

Spoilers
mewtwo uses mind powers to reveal what happened the night time dad disappeared. Says “Humans are a disease” and shows pikachu setting mewtwo free. Mewtwo ends mind tricks and Pikachu thinks he’s a traitor. Later on the villain tells you the full story and you see Pikachu saving mewtwo with Tim’s dad because he knew the corporation was evil. Mewtwo full message is heard “humans are a disease... is what I used to think, you showed me not everyone is bad”

>Tim's dad is white
b-based??

If you've played the games it's not much of a spoiler but Detective Pikachu can talk to Tim because Mewtwo put's Harry's soul into Pikachu's body after the crash at the beginning, and he tells Pikachu to bring Tim to him so he can heal Harry with Tim's help. After the plot resolves and Tim's dad is back to normal, he's played by Ryan Reynolds.

Wasn’t their a cocaine joke early on in the film? About how he snorted the purple fumes

It works so that you don't expect the reveal.

Pikachu is Tim’s dad

Yes.

You and the rest of the American family movie goers apparently

Yes. Pikachu also makes a comment about not being 'the kind of Pokémon who brings someone to their place on their first encounter'. Can't really remember other inappropriate jokes.

Yeah. It was after he lost his pants but before he left the street.

I wouldn't call them any of them inappropriate because they're all the sort of thing that goes right over the heads of young kids.

>I'm really good at being alone at night

>”your nudity is pissing these aipoms off”

I think Warner was testing the waters with this film, seeing if it was a success. Next film could be a Red/Blue adaptation

Honestly the movie was pretty fun. nothing groundbreaking, but it did put a smile on my face all along, and that's what matters. Fun.

It wasn't a criticism, maybe I should have called them more adult-oriented jokes.

>Pikachu singing the anime's opening

Attached: 1218051590098.jpg (249x251, 17K)

He said soul, not mind. Detective Pikachu's body is being used by Tim's dad soul but was given amnesia.

Detective Pikachu is literally just Harry in Pikachu's body.

>Tim's, that girl, and the Mayors' Sugi designs
legitimately great designs for rivals and important side characters, a bit sad they'll go the way of Mirror B though. But hey, Professor Burnett somehow made it back, so maybe

Mewtwo in this movie has the ability to transfer the mind of humans inside the body of an unconscious/crazed Pokémon with his psychic powers. Tim's dad was working on the case of Mewtwo's cells being used to produce a gas that turns Pokémon crazy (since the villain wanted to fuse the humans and Pokémon of the city together by using the gas and Mewtwo's powers due to being obsessed with unity between humans and Pokémon), he frees Mewtwo from captivity in the villain's laboratory and as he escapes, the villain's Greninja cause the car he and his Pikachu are escaping in to crash. Mewtwo spots the wreckage and since Harry is dying, he transfers his mind into the unconscious Pikachu to save his life. He tells Pikachu that he needs him to bring Harry's son since he can only restore Harry's body through his DNA and thus Tim and Pikachu eventually meet.

I want to destroy her cute tight little ass

Is there seriously anybody here who didn't predict this the moment we were given the premise of "Tim's looking for his dad and meets a talking pikachu"?

Movie was kino for a Pokemon movie. The giga-nigga Torterras were absolutely based.

Just bought my ticket, gonna head to my theater in a bit.

What am I in for Yea Forums?

Attached: springaling.jpg (593x376, 142K)

Probably not, but since the game blueballed you at the last second by not actually going through with the reveal, I'm glad the movie did.

>Mewtwo in this movie has the ability to transfer the mind of humans inside the body of an unconscious/crazed Pokémon with his psychic powers.

Not mind, soul. They were pretty explicit with that because the main villain projects his mind into Mewtwo. Not his soul.

M8 people guessed that as soon as the first episode of the game came out in Japanese.

>Caring about the Nasalgia Shitic

Fun. Literally.

Attached: NeatDistantDoe-size_restricted[1].gif (500x281, 1.56M)

So it's pretty much confirmed that 40% of critics are gonna hate a movie strictly because it's based on a game?

Xd

Maybe it was just the translation in my language, but they did say 'mind' specifically. Still, the results are the same.

Imagine being this unbased

Attached: Rachel Tietz.jpg (920x517, 33K)

It's not a flawless movie by any means including by universal standards like the acting, but yeah, I did see plenty of reviews complaining because they knew nothing about the source material. I do wonder if the movie loses a lot of value for those people, I didn't feel like it particularly relies on already knowing the characters, but I might be too biased.

Did they REALLY have to show the Gardevoir anal prolapse scene in front of young audiences? At least save that kind of thing for the special features on the bluray

Kinda overkill

>Maybe it was just the translation in my language, but they did say 'mind' specifically.
Are you in China? I know they're sensitive about those things.
>Still, the results are the same.
Not really, because the movie makes the distinction of the main villain using tech to project his mind, and Mewtwo using powers to merge souls.

I would unironically fuck the 2D version of her drawn in the end credits

>The scene of a guy jacking it to Lopunny.

Well I'd like to agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Sneasel was absolutly fucking everywhere in the movie, so I'm pretty fine with it

Attached: 6c6.jpg (1200x675, 53K)

I guess? The movie has a very basic and predicable plot, but its main attractive is that it's done in a pokemon universe, and many scenes take advantage of that. It's definitely one of these movies that's more enjoyable if you're a fan of the medium, otherwise it's really basic detective melodrama.

Italy. Unfortunately the translation was clearly wonky in places, I was planning to rewatch it in English from the start but there was no theater in my area that screened it undubbed so I'll have to wait.

Odds are they'll will be a detective Pikachu event but like the Hatchu's in gen 7, they'll be unusable garbage. All I ask if that it knows fake out, has its HA, and isn't nature locked, that isn't much.

It was alright. The main nigger is a shit actor and the pacing was rushed, but the Pokémon look pretty good and the fights were kino.

?

I figured about as much. I've had a guess rolling around in my head these days that the criticisms of game adaptations aren't entirely unbiased and stem entirely from a lack of knowledge or care about the source material. Many are undeniably bad, yes, but then you get bad scores for even lovingly crafted adaptations like Mortal Kombat. Just interesting that even this is getting middling reception thanks to a lot of critics throwing out a "don't care I'm afraid".

Watch Nostalgia Critic right now!

It didn’t even make any fucking sense.

All I could think about was how somewhere in that city there was someone having sex with their Sneasel or Gardevoir

To please /vp/

I liked it, too much ad-libbing and the climate change joke was way out of place.

no__

Haha, just wondering, where would someone even look for chars like that?? Haha

while these are shitposts let me give all you niggers a perspective to something,
>Pokemon in the Poke-world are animals
>Animals in the real-world are animals
>Detective Pikachu goes the realistic route
>see Poke-anus
>reeeeeeeeeeeeeee
>see animal anus
>huh whatever

It was just meant to be absurd since it clearly wasn't a 'natural' instance of an effect of climate change. Don't take it so seriously, it wasn't commentary.

>Hex Maniac reference.

Can you imagine how powerful those Torteras are? Would they even fit in a Pokeball?

Is this an official episode? Holy fucking shit.

Absolute bullshit

yes

>He tells Pikachu that he needs him to bring Harry's son since he can only restore Harry's body through his DNA and thus Tim and Pikachu eventually meet.
what about his corpse? Doesn't that have DNA too?

I didn't take it the wrong way at all. I think it was just a bit out of place.
I liked the fact that the movie wasn't preachy or PC for PC's sake.
The MC felt fine and not a diversity shoehorn, and the white girl didn't start preaching about bullshit. Which I was expecting.

Pokeballs are like a fucking pocket dimension.

I think it's Gorebyss actually or Kabutops

Wait is he actually fucking dead

Yes it was.

Gas likely conviently damaged the DNA on the corpse.

>What was the store with a HEX sign.

Gee, I wonder who could be running that shop...

Sounds like it was similar to Deadpool's jabs at racism toward Cable. A parody of forced SJW shit.

I want to fuck pokemon though

Didnt he say “What the fuck is a pokemon?!”

Are Snorlax just bags full of blood?

It probably won't be a direct sequel to this, it would just be another Pokemon movie using this CGI and production design
This movie was enjoyable enough but I kind of got that feeling that this was primarily a proof of concept that you can do the CGI on this scale and have it work reasonably well

>people on here paid to see this film
Why are you all children

get fucked zoomzoom.

They don't completely explain the process, but it looked like Harry's body was basically dead and Mewtwo needed to transfer something else into it to revive it.

Hex maniacs are trainers

Plot hole

If Mewtwo could legitimately merge human souls into Pokemon, then why doesn the villain do that once he has his mind in its body so he's bonded to Mewtwo permanently, thus removing his one weakness at that point?

To be fair, the Berserk Gene is something that existed in Pokémon Gold and Silver, long before sniffing farts became a meme fetish online.

Fuck no.

In the game there's a Hex Maniac that sold milk. So it's not impossible.

I kinda wish I could have paid for attention who was the Gengar's trainer in the ring.

Because he hadn't seen him in years, and I would imagine there would be an extra layer of disconnect hearing it come from a pikachu.

I thought having Pikachu and Tim go looking for suspects in the Pokemon strip club and getting information from a Gardevoir doing a lapdance was a bridge too far, it should've at least bumped the movie up to PG-13

When Mewtwo transfers Harry into Pikachu, Pikachu loses his memories and Harry's soul is unable to use his electric powers, so the same would've likely happened to Howard and Mewtwo meaning Howard would've been unable to use Mewtwo's psychic powers to merge everyone else. Note that every merged Pokémon during the climax just stumbles around cluelessly without using moves.

because he almost never spent time with him.
speedwatchers, when will they learn?

There were more positive than negative replies, so I'll just not believe you

its a kids movie. if you can deal with that then yes it was fine.

Pokemon is old enough to legally drink, child.

>no further
I see wojak threads every fucking day you nigger. Get a brain. A working one.

>a series that peaked in the 90's
>underage
are u ok

There already exists a Detective Pikachu game, you know. However, I can't really think of any time Game Freak significantly incorporated the regions and characters from spin-offs in the mainline games aside from creating the Pokémon Ranger trainer class, so I doubt it. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

pokemon rangers existed in gen 3 already and that trainer class was taken as the main class for the ranger series which is a spin-off.
get your facts straight.

She had a nice butt

Pokemon and all other cartoons were baby shit then and they're baby shit now. Stupid ass 90's babies. That manchild census recently released wasn't kidding, 23 is the new 12.

Reminder that Mr Mime technically fucking dies

that shit was kino. the trailer made it look retarded but the scene was fucking good actually.

People that still like pokemon should kill themselves

He'll eventually get bored and stop pretending to have been set ablaze, r-right?

Video games aren't only for children. Remove your head from your collective asses

I honestly remember it being told to us before the movie even came out. To think it's the final twist seems weird.

You never said only, fucking moron. They are for children, though.

>Mr Mime burning for eternity
Holy shit that's brutal, wtf Nintendo

I'm tempted to go watch it later this evening in a few hours.
Is it worth watching or should I just wait for theater camrip torrents to eventually pop up?

Which animal has the capability to burn your soul again? I missed that in Bio.

Based Linaposter.

>pretending
Dude, it's fucking real. They fucking killed him.

It's fun but it's not gonna blow you away. You get cards if you go.

It was obvious as early as three years ago when the first chunk of the game came out, still, the movie in particular put other twists here and there to avoid relying too heavily on the last one.

it is, though.
shootans and whatnot, are still for children.
otherwise little shits wouldn't try to evade the age restriction at every given opportunity.

Attached: 722712.png (388x623, 80K)

If you die in the game you die in real life user.

This. They definitely knew a good chunk of the audience was gonna be nostalgic 90s kids.

It's weird to think about since Mr Mime physically creates his Barrier with a move and Pikachu crashes against it, but then Tim is able to get through it by pretending to open a door in it, so how much the mimicry is fake and how much it's real, only invisible, isn't clear. I guess it adds to the weird humor of the scene.

>shootans and whatnot, are still for children.
Yeah no.
>embrace vidya as what it actually is.
Something that is for people of varying ages. It's almost like different games are trying to reach different demographics. Why are you even on Yea Forums you blubbering retard

Nah the pokemon movies definitely for kids you nerd

It's not 'only' for kids, but it's certainly 'also' for kids (or you could say it's mainly for kids and also for adult long-time fans).

So is Gerber.

He found a door because there was a door. It's real. Mr. Mime needed a way to get out after Tim and Pikachu fucked off.

He's fucking DEAD. They KILLED him.

this was surprisingly terrible but I still ended up watching it

You said they are for children, implying they are only for children. Which is incorrect, making you wrong.

Actually no. You can go into it knowing nothing about Pokemon, the movie explains everything you really need to know.

It's arguably better that way because you won't question when Mewtwo gained the ability to merge people.

>This much denial
sad

It's a movie made for children, there's no doubt about that, but it has enough production value and Ryan Reynolds gets risque enough that an adult would get a mild amount of amusement out of it. It's not a movie like Boss Baby, which is explicitly made for 7 year olds and no one else

RIP, he shouldn't have taunted Tim and Pikachu about their good cop, bad cop routine.

well? the same question applies to you as well, no?
you grow up but video games stay the same, made for children, played by children and grown adults that were children.
even if a game is established for adults in its roots it's for children because the concept of a video game is for kids.
are you still sure that you're not actually the idiot?

>You said they are for children, implying they are only for children.
No? CoD is for children but there are plenty of adults who think an M rating on the box means it wasn't designed with 8 year olds in mind.

I'm about to see this tomorrow, is my boy Milotic in?

Nope.

Unfortunately not despite it being in the game. I guess since it was in an extremely out of the way place/subplot, they didn't bother trying to fit it in.

sadly no but in Pokemon Trainer-Detective, the sequel to Pokemon Detective pikachu for sure.

Yes. Look, you made a stupid comment and got called on it, tuck your tail and go home idiot.

As long as Christianity (and by extension Islam) exists, never.

No, just because your reading comprehension is shit doesn't mean video games aren't for children.

>CoD is for children
Except it isn't. What an awful example. You apparently don't know what ratings mean. You apparently are a moron

I used that example specifically because of the rating. CoD is for fucking children, it's designed the way it is to appeal to fucking children. The M rating on the box doesn't mean a fucking thing.

>remove set rule of age restriction
>suddenly a kids game
WOW

Are you allowed as an adult to still like kids stuff like pokemon or mlp

>This much nothing to say.
Glad you concede you worthless idiot. Now fuck off.
>you grow up but video games stay the same, made for children, played by children and grown adults that were children
Video games are played by children and adults, not adults that are children. There are games made for children and there are games made for older audiences.
>because the concept of a video game is for kids.
Except it isn't. Different types of games exist. Is your skull this thick?
The only idiot is you for failing to understand something so basic. Again, why the fuck are you on Yea Forums

no you go to jail

Why did they hire some douchebag capeshit actor to voice fucking Pikachu? Why? Why? I don't fucking get it. Why?!

Attached: GfXuPuO.png (960x540, 992K)

Because Ryan Reynolds is a good actor, you fucking pleb.

My adult coworkers won't shut up about the new Captain America movie so I'd guess you are. Why you'd want to, I have no idea.

So they can stick his name on the ads. How do you not get how marketing works?

Maybe don't make stupid blanket statement comments, that way, you won't look like a fucking moron and people won't have to correct you.

Why are you sperging out about this you asptard?

>CoD is for fucking children, it's designed the way it is to appeal to fucking children
Except it isn't. But I'll humor you, what in it's design is made for "children"
>The M rating on the box doesn't mean a fucking thing.
It does if you're not braindead.

I didn't make a stupid blanket statement you fucking moron. Video games are for children. There is nothing wrong with this statement.

Out of all the big-name actors looking for work, was he the best fit they could find for Pikachu? Really? I don't believe it.

He does a good job at it, whether you believe it or not. He's genuinely the highlight of the movie.

>No, just because your reading comprehension is shit
>vidya is for children
>Literally is.
Yup, that guy totally has comprehension issues. Be sure to backpedal on shit you said though.

DUDE.
>Video games are played by children and adults, not adults that are children. There are games made for children and there are games made for older audiences
except for children who later become grownups. they are indeed manchildren.
>Except it isn't. Different types of games exist. Is your skull this thick?
yes my skull is this thick because I am right and so are the anons that constantly shit on you for being a dumb faggot. certain types of video games don't make them not for children. only the age restriction thought makes it seem like it but without that rule it's naught.
>Again, why the fuck are you on Yea Forums
I love vidya and I acknowledge that it's for children.
a manchild will never be able to convince himself that he's not one. keep being in denial, faggot. and also, a manchild isn't necvessarily an insult if you know what thinking is like.
apparantly you are the one who's out of place here seen from the lack of powerlevel. go back to a website that is know to be full of retards that think too highly of themselves, aka plebbit.

Yes, just don't make it into your defining feature.

Who would you suggest?

It is. I don't see the word ONLY anywhere in any of my posts.

Is my nigga Garchomp anywhere to be seen?

>The fucking TV at the house was still on the parody detective movie from Home Alone

subtle

That's the whole joke, that the voice doesn't fit Pikachu.

its venezia you stupid piece of shit

Since when can Mewtwo do that anyway I thought melding with souls was Manaphy's power

Attached: 220px-Manaphy_SSBB[1].png (220x173, 67K)

Is there more of this?

>was he the best fit they could find for Pikachu?
He was a good fit.
What does he do wrong exactly besides "being a capeshit actor"?

>Pokémon battles in a big stadium, similar to the anime's pokémon league
>Mewtwo can talk with telepathy, same as the anime

Any other references?

Attached: brendan.webm (720x405, 2.81M)

>the pokeball at the end
Nice touch.

It's just an application of his psychic powers they gave him in the movie. Also Manaphy technically swaps souls.

>except for children who later become grownups. they are indeed manchildren.
That doesn't change anything I said. There are games made for children and there are games made for older audiences. It's not just one or the other. "video games are for children" is an incorrect statement because they are for more than just children. Stay dumb.
> certain types of video games don't make them not for children.
Every video game is not made for a child to play. Your skull is thick because you can't understand a concept as simple as this. You are a thickheaded moron.
>I love vidya and I acknowledge that it's for children.
You don't sound like you do, you sound like an idiot running around putting things in a box because you can't handle the idea that medium might be for more than just one type of person
>keep being in denial, faggot. and also, a manchild isn't necvessarily an insult if you know what thinking is like.
I'm not in denial about anything. I'm trying to educate an idiot, to no avail.

>Pikachu movie is okay
>John wick 3 actually getting good reviews

What a neat time to be alive

so when will i be able to pirate this

Its for adults too. If you agree with this there isn't anything more to discuss

They play it very safe and you see the twist of Pikachu being Tim's father all along coming from a mile away.
I hope they make another live action pokémon movie that focuses more on battles and such.

Exactly, the problem is entirely on your end. Why do you keep pushing the issue?

Sugimori whitewashed Justice Smith hard

Attached: 1428433005487.png (159x159, 40K)

The dot eyes in a human where too creepy for me, thats a boner killer.
Anyone else felt the movie kind of digimon-ish, since when a "partner pokemon" is a thing, most people in the games have more that one, six at most

Pokemons are pretty much the animals in the Flinstones they are less friends and more pets that are also flamethrowers or water hoses, why would you have only one?

Attached: flintstones-lawnmower[1].jpg (500x373, 41K)

you're not even self-aware, holy shit.
remove yourself from existence.

>being a genwunner openly
Faggot. There's plenty of pokémon from all gens in the movie

He's a goblino already, it's not much of a stretch.

UH

I think playing along with his psychic game makes whatever you emulate become real

>since when a "partner pokemon" is a thing, most people in the games have more that one, six at most
They make a point to state that Ryme City values the unity between humans and Pokémon above all else so it makes sense for each human to bond with a single Pokémon rather than dividing themselves between a full team.

Very few people want to fuck real animals
Hundreds of millions of people want to fuck pokemon

Felt kind of out of left field, like a convenient deus ex machina to keep the plot going. doing something with the weird X-men mind control helmet would have made more sense

That scene felt very unnecessary. You can remove that scene entirely and nothing would change

Did Ryan Reynolds do a good job with Pikachu?

They might just adapt another pokémon title.

A very minor complaint that's not exclusive to this movie

>In the original series we met a girl named Duplica who's got a shitty Ditto who can't transform correctly. Duplica's Ditto can change its body but not its face, so all its transformations end up having a :) face
>This is a problem exclusive to that Ditto and every other Ditto after that (before S/M) were shown to be able to transform perfectly
>Despite this, merchandise and even the latest anime series have decided to bring back the beady eyes

Reeee! it was a single pokémon's quirk! not something that happens to every ditto!

Attached: pepe1.jpg (400x386, 18K)

Yeah, but I still wish it was Danny Devito.

Yes.

>You can remove that scene entirely and nothing would change
Well, you wouldn't have motherfucking mountain sized Torterras for one thing.
It doesn't contribute to the plot but people are there to see Pokemon related spectacles anyway. The plot comes second.

It's been something they adopted in spin-offs ages ago.

Attached: pokemon snap bulbasaur ditto.jpg (352x264, 29K)

Stop trying to create an argument when there is none my guy.

The Ditto's one of the lab Pokemon. It was mutated, like the Torterras.

It's also how Pikachu gets wounded (though that also could've happened in other ways, such as against the Greninja) and you can assume Mewtwo gets alerted to their presence by all the ruckus and comes out of hiding.

Incredible rebuttal you simmering child. You aren't self aware just because you mistakenly label what games are about and who they are for. You just show how utterly ignorant you are
Remove yourself from your asshole.

if he was the size of my hand i would kiss him

But it's cute :)

Is funny how convoluted the villain plan was:

Step 1 build a city where people only have 1 pokemon
Step 2: Capture Mewtwo
Step 3 make some drug that drives pokemon berserk
Step 4 create a mind control device to take control of Mewtwo
Step 5 use the soul bonding powers of that mewtwo apparently always had, and the villain know he has for some unexplained reason to turn people into pokemon

Attached: complexity-addiction_oots_7002[1].png (350x263, 72K)

What do I have to compare it to? its not like Pikachu has been going around in the games and show speaking English. It honestly could have been anyone and it probably would have been fine.

That protag already exists, it's called Serena in tomboyish clothes.

The only media where this hasn't always been the case with Ditto is the original Anime episode that featured Duplica, and the games. Everything else that shows ditto transforming always has it keep the face so it's possible to tell that it's a Ditto. In fact, there was an entire series of Ditto cards back in Gen III that all had him transformed into various pokemon that had the face.

Attached: 1531291337230.jpg (300x411, 80K)

did the Sonic movie trailer play

Yes.

Slight fanwank justification: they state there are some ancient Mew ruins in Ryme City so Clifford could have studied Mew's powers from there and Mewtwo would obviously have them too.

She was a fucking cutie that entire movie, although her intro acting was a tad over the top.
She looks super familiar, but to my knowledge she hasn't been in anything major prior to this

>What do I have to compare it to?
The 3DS Detective Pikachu.

Reynolds did it much better frankly.

Dark type means Evil, retards.

If Mewtwo can't heal Harry instantly and needed to transfer his soul to Pikachu then how come he's able to heal Pikachu instantly after the Torterra Garden scene?

>sequel is already announced
>movie has no sequel hook whatsoever

That's honestly a valid complaint. I'd legitimately believe the plan if he left out the part about merging other humans with Pokemon

Yeah, people were laughing in my theatre.

because pikachu was just being a pussy about taking a rock to the gut

Did they ever explain why Meowth had a Yamulke and Menorah?

Both Tim and Pikachu were immensely more entertaining in the movie, Pikachu was okay in the game in terms of wit but pretty low in terms of actual humor while game Tim was barely a character, it was neat that they gave his movie version actual reasons to have an arc where he learns to bond with Pikachu and his father.

Based

Attached: 1520855231113.png (867x884, 198K)

Is there more Ludicolo than that one shot in the trailer? This is important.

Nope.

Likely not the same amount of damage, Pikachu could've probably been treated with items or at a Pokémon Center had there been time to get there while Harry was already almost gone.

Only about ten seconds more if that.
Also apparently it's female

Reported for racism. They're just normal pokémon trying to raise their kids. DARK TYPE MATTERS

Mew doesn't have that power, Manaphy maybe but Mew has never show to be able to fuse two being into one

Pikachu was dying, but I think Harry was completely dead.

I was surprised they went for such an old reference.

Attached: 1537300808248.png (1024x768, 890K)

My problem is that they have never stablish Mewtwo as a pokemon capable of doing what he did in the movie, and that fuse power is the whole point of why is in this story It would be as making a movie where Squirtle could use flamethrower for some reason.

I like Pokemon Special, at least the first few chapters I've read. The movie looks really cute though.

I just mean in the context of the movie. Mewtwo isn't known to have that power in the games either.

You know who does though? Fucking Bill.

Gardevoir isn't in

mew has all of the powers all of the time do you even pokemon m8

Ok so where is the HDrip so I don't go to the movie theater alone??
