How good is OSRS?

the entire game is based on cheating random people out of money so as to fufill your own greed. You have two choices for end game if you have no friends: raid with some randoms (who are fueled by greed) and hope they don't get a tbow drop they end up not splitting, or autistically grind Zulrah/Vorkath for hours on end for the best GP/H at 5m an hour with the absolute best gear and stats. It takes thousands of hours to even get to any kind of suitable end game and in the end it's just a glorified cookie clicker.

It's fun until you hit mid-levels and then once you think you're ready for end game that's when it becomes shit, a total autistic waste of time.

It's good if you have literally nothing else to do with your free time and want to spend hours mindlessly clicking on the same spot over and over. I was pretty addicted to it for a few months and then when Sekiro came out and pulled my attention away my playtime pretty much dropped to 0 because I remembered that I can actually have fun while playing videogames and not just pass the hours away with my brain switched off.

I'd bitch about the grind and my friends/other players would tell me to afk and do something else. So I did, and stopped playing. I'm not paying ten bucks a month to play an idle game 80% of the time and then enjoy it 20% of the time.

I played it at work too but even then there's way more productive things I could be doing with the amount of downtime there. It'll be quiet as hell over the summer so I'm gonna try and get back into learning how to draw instead of wasting my time with that shit.

The only downside is that you will eventually be consumed by dailies and quit but before that happens its really fun discovering new shit

I tried it recently due to friends just feels like garbage jank for poor kids. I avoided it growing up because I had money to play superior MMOs.

I remember a video essay about this, doing agility or runecrafting or skilling in general or for money let you do the quests of the game which were the rewards for skilling. I ended up having to pull up a movie for some podcast on another monitor to get through grinding agility in Priff or Harmonic dust, which was bull shit and I joined a bull shit clan so I can watch another movie while I chop roots or cook soup.

they're both suffer through the same problem, leveling is boring and a slog, but FF14's problem is significantly less than osrs. It wont take you 1000+ hours to get to end game, it'll take you probably 100.

I love OSRS but if you think the Devs care about anything other than keeping it above water ive got some bad news for you. The system for launching new content is way too reliant on the playerbase. prayer flicking is a broken mechanic and I hate how that's the only way they can add any "challenge" to pvm content and honestly overhead prayers should not give 100% protection from enemy hits

Ironman legit makes the game more fun and rewarding and also makes most of the skills useful again but also increases grind to a masochistic level. Everyone starts one eventually when they realise normal end game is just boils down to maxing your gold per hour.
