Unironically a great game. Only some of the emerald hunts are trash but that pumpkin hill song is legendary.

People who don't like the game average C ranks at best. It's unironically good and people just don't get it.

This, Adventure 1 is better than Adventure 2, but both games are better than everything that came after them.

It's better to play SA1 with SA2, like Sonic 3&K Complete for the full Adventure experience. Alone the game is mediocre, but SA1 shows that stage design and mini-games can be good in between.

Sonic Adventure would've been perfect with the SA2 engine and cutscene animations.

Its good, but could be better if it wasn't a buggy rushed mess. Final hazard will always be hype as hell.

SA2 successfully kept the top 3 playstyles and trimmed the bottom 3. For that alone it's better.

A lot of it sucks but I still love it.

Mechs are boring and wastes more time than treasure hunting. There is no reason for Tails to walk in a mech suit made from his TRANSFORMING plane that would allow him to fly to the goal.
And Amy's physics were fixed in SA2, just the right speed. E102 has superior gameplay and has been trashed. Big's stages last 30 seconds. No complaints.

I unironically never figured out how to cheese Big's stuff so all of his levels took me like fifteen minutes. In total over a few different playthroughs it must have only been two to three hours of my life, but it felt like forever.

The only level Tails could've just skipped by flying is Mission Street. In every other level he's either indoors or explicitly looking for something (e.g. an entrance to the pyramid in the sand one).

Shadow the Hedgehog's gun platforming gameplay would fit well in mech stages. However, mech stages are unengaging and unsatisfying holding the scan button for 6 seconds and firing while trying not to get hit. Especially against artificial chaos.
Tail's can spindash and bust through heavy objects on his own, only Eggman needs a mech.

My only problem with Big's levels were the extra missions where you have to spend half an hour finding the one fuckhueg fish that will qualify for the mission and then having your line snap instantly.

Nah SA2 is kino, I've only beaten the game and played some of the multiplayer, and I'm going to try getting all the emblems and A Ranking everything. I've already sunk 100 hours into SA1, and I plan on putting much more in SA2.
