So how's the turn based mode?
So how's the turn based mode?
?

In your opinion, what's better, PoE 2 or Pathfinder? I don't really like RTwP, but if the game's good, I won't mind.
>poe2 has a better story
>better world map
>explains its mechanics very easily
>can uprgrade rare items and lots of them >change gameplay in a meaningful way
>companions range from shit tier to fun
>FULLY VOICE ACTED
pathfinder
>way more complicated
>story feels less fun
>somtimes unavoidable random encounters on your way to an objective
>lots of one note companions
>the class system is far better
>kingdom building if you like that
When you know what your doing pathfinder is top tier but that can take multiple playthroughs and studying to learn
Poe2 is more casualized but in general its less of a headache to play
>poe2 has a better story
does it actually have a decent story? I never even looked at it, after what a terrible story poe1 had.
It doesn't. PoE2 has a better setting and better lore, but its story is much worse than Pathfinder's.
Pathfinder's lore and setting are incredibly bland and generic, but the story itself is better.
Pathfinder has a better story, better gameplay, and it's less about shoving brown characters in your face. I'm black and even I find that shit perverse in deadfire. Turn based mode in deadfire is meh, spellcasters feel bad since their spells take way too fucking long to cast, also the spells are lame.
Spellcasting is great in kingmaker, the story is much longer, the encounters are mostly unavoidable, there are some that are story related once or so a chapter that you can't escape, but a majority of those are events and not combat related. Deadfire is a much cleaner game, with a cleaner ui and environments, kingmaker is a much better game overall, but also bogged down by bloated mechanics
I'm a cRPG noob who played the Pillars games and is just starting Kingmaker. I agree with in that the systems in PoE are much easier to understand. Systems and mechanics in Kingmaker seem to be taken directly from the tabletop game, which makes them harder to understand to someone like me who's never played dice-based tabletop games.
on the other hand, systems in Kingmaker might have more depth than PoE, so if you're looking for that, and dont mind the extra complexity, then Kingmaker might be the better choice
>still no ydwin romance
FUCKING OBSIDIAN CUNTS YOU'RE DONE WHEN OUTER WORLDS FLOPS
This guy is full of shit saying PoE2 has better story. Kingmakers story is a lot more fun, but more open-ended. You build a kingdom, people are trying to fuck with you.
PoE2 is easier to understand because Josh Sawyer has a hardon for balancing everything to the point of everything being boring. Kingmaker requires more system mastery but allows you to do completely broken shit, which is fun in an RPG.
is pathfinder still a buggy mess? i read some 100+ hour recent reviews saying the game is unbeatable
Pathfinder is far better. Tells a great story without long-winded info dumps that have no impact on the game. The customization, loot, and choices actually feel worthwhile. That said, I really enjoyed POE2 as well.
On another note I think Pathfinders companions are way more interesting.
It's almost entirely fixed. This is my third playthrough and there has been not even a trivial bug. Except for one where I couldn't see armor on Amiri. Fixed with a reload.
Deadfire is for trannies cucks and faggots.
Kingmaker is for 90's gamers that know that gender and sex is the same thing and that european people are superior to the rest.
> allows you to do completely broken shit, which is fun in an RPG.
As a dm of Pathfinder for years, saying it's broken is one of the most right opinions on the internet.
Is this game challenging or more about the story? I remember The first PoE being pretty easy
I've also DM'ed pathfinder, its not fun to be in an arms race with your players for the most broken shit. But as a vidya I love it, because I don't have to deal with it.
>deadfire waifu autists hate their game
>kingmaker waifu autists promote their game
what did they mean by this
Alright so this seems like the thread. How's Kingmaker as a crpg, compared to say BG2, FO or Planescape?
Is it fairly open-ended?
I ignored it on launch because I heard it was buggy trash and the months afterwards I saw mixed reviews and figured it had other problems.
wtf im going to buy pathfinder kingmaker right now!
I've had to say no to a lot of character concepts that I know the player would enjoy, but I know from just looking at them and the rest of the party would completely break the game.
It was nice to wrap up my last PF rp and explore other systems.
This is probably the best answer you’ll get itt. PoEs setting doesn’t lend itself to a fun story unless you enjoy a slow burn on setting exposition and really get into it, whereas PF kingmaker is a module built around being fun for the players.
Both PoEs are built around being fair on the hardest difficulty so on normal the games are pretty easy.
It's fun, but very buggy, and not enough to salvage the series. They should have gone for turnbased from the beginning.
> Kingmaker
> Soul
> Shitfire
> Souless
Both are alright, just get both of them
r u poor user??
