I picked it up on Amazon for about $40 a few weeks ago since the original is my favorite game ever. I think it translates pretty good, I never played the mobile port but I hear it's based off that. The new content's alright and the graphics were redrawn and translate pretty good to an HD art style. Only complaint I really have is that if you use handheld mode you can only use the touchscreen rather than being able to move around with the ABYX/"d-pad" or the sticks. I'd recommend it if you can get it around the same price I did.

Serious question; how is this game on Switch with motion controls? It's on final clearance at my local shop, but it's still pretty expensive as far as remasters go. I'm wondering if I should get it or forget about having a physical version and just wait for a massive eshop discount. As someone who’s had the misfortune of dealing with Life is Strange, you don’t have to worry about stuff like than in TWEWY. Granted, the story might look angsty and stereotypical, but the characters are generally likeable, the story is full of twists and turns, and Neku, the main protag, actually develops to be a genuinely cool dude. The style and aesthetic also helps as well. That said, I can only speak from my experiences with the DS version but the gameplay was incredibly fun and refreshing for me, with tons of customizability and plenty of depth.
