Unironically looks good

good, they'd fuck it up anyways.

it's still a very good game
adding depth of field and antialiasing ruins the style
just go play d3, zoomer retard

it's shit. running into the same dungeon over and over again to get an op item which your build requires. ARPG are just big stockholm syndrome simulators and are in great need of some better ideas gameplay wise.

if you want a QoL baby game go play D3

But D3 is even a bigger offender? Re-read his complain.

is this AI assisted shit?

Even if it did, I wouldn't buy it.
Blizzard as a company is too shitty to justify supporting now.

yeah. this d3 is the fucking worst. it also has the most power creeps of any games that exist. it's the epitome of shit gamedesign.

you may not pass

YEEEEAHHH

>wanting anything remaster

>now
user...

A D2 remaster is impossible because Blizz knows that everyone would buy/trade items on D2JSP and it would be more successful than any auction house they could cook up

Some of us are old enough to remember when Blizzard (North) was good.
Isn't it past your bedtime lil zoom zoom?

Blizzard has been going downhill since WoW, silly goose.
I owned Rock n Roll Racing so fuck off with that oldfag shit.

I recently played the diablo 1 hd "belzebub" mod. I highly recommend it. Makes Diablo 1 look amazing, and the QoL changes are perfectly executed.

Yes, it's alsmo made by a redditor

Attached: 1rZFhx7.jpg (2000x1499, 635K)

what an ugly boomer game

looks like shit. it's the same as using shitty filters in snes emulators.

this doesn't look right at all

>I recently played the diablo 1 hd "belzebub" mod. I highly recommend it.

Attached: 1534731229280.jpg (350x296, 13K)

I would buy this on steam and play. It reminds me when i was 14, couldnt speak english at all and managed to slog through original diablo as paladin only to die to iron maiden curse and then giving up because without wiki you have no chance to realize to counter the curse you just need to wait.

Attached: 20190509003009_1.jpg (2560x1440, 852K)

>without wiki you have no chance to realize to counter the curse you just need to wait.
must suck being a retard

useless contrarian with no critical thought.
it's obviously clearer textures.

>depth of field in an isometric game

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Diablo 2 with the high resolution mod looks legit great, actually. Sadly, it was broken with the latest patch.

I wont deny it. Until ~23 i was one of the biggest retards.

Still iron maiden curse in diablo 2 was just bad design. They should slap there some NPC with dialog about it or something. Its hard counter to all physical meele characters in the game with 0 prior explanation.

Before hell there were monents when some monsters put various icons above your head. And never were dangerous at all, why would you suddenly pay attention to it?

Attached: QrPxEm6.jpg (516x466, 175K)

I'll just play Median XL anyway

Id love to play diablo 2 but i just cant get into the graphics, anyone know if there is a graphic overhaul for it.

>inb4 diablo 3, played it and its shit
>inb4 POE, already playing it
>inb4 zoomer faggot

>not happening
Are you fucking retarded? Activision-Blizzard has already gone through with StarCraft and WarCraft 3, and WoW Classic, do you think they're going to idly sit by when they could be wringing profit from the corpse of a 20 year old game????

It is going to happen, whether or not they can pull it off without fucking everything up is another question.

> running into the same dungeon over and over again to get an op item which your build requires.
Unironically, this is one flaw that modern games have that Diablo 2 does not. Baal & Pindleskin were the top ones, Meph was even best for a handful of items. Plus some people (me) ran Countess for low-mid runes and the council for gold. You had options in D2 depending on what you were looking for.

>ARPG are just big stockholm syndrome simulators
False, ARPG's are slot-machine simulators. Dark Souls is the Stockholm Syndrome Simulator (WOW I DIED A BUNCH THIS GAME MUST BE EXCELLENT).

have u played grim dawn user?

it's the most like d2 out of any of the modern day ARPGs I've played

Good. Nu-Blizzard literally doesn't possess the artistic ability to remain faithful to this masterpiece.

Just put all textures through that AI magic resizer

Blizzard already stated that a D2 remaster is almost impossible.

There are graphics mods that let you play it in your desktop resolution, but it kind of breaks the game because you can see enemies way before they ever see you, and also you can't play online with it

have not ill give it a go

Attached: D1EFBA-X4AASMcn.jpg (1046x1146, 70K)

>Id love to play diablo 2 but i just cant get into the graphics, anyone know if there is a graphic overhaul for it.

I'm one of D2's biggest fans but even I find it difficult to play because of the resolution issues & how I'm used to modern graphics. There are mods that fix the resolution scaling but in the process they sort of break the game.... you can see monsters from beyond their aggro range so you can cheese them super easy if you want.

PoE is a far cry from Diablo 2, but it does manage to capture some of the magic every now and then. I'd say I get 5 minutes out of every hour of PoE where I feel as good as the glory days of D2, so you shouldn't feel too bad missing out on D2.

I'm pretty sure they nerfed or outright removed iron maiden from enemies in one of the later patches

Try Titan Quest, is easily the ARPG with the best visuals.

It does look right. And unlike you, I've played the game.

They removed it in a later patch.
Also
>he didn't play Necromancer
maybe you should've studied what skills do

Aren't you a fucking retard.
Also, Diablo 2 supports 3D object placement.
Also, you're a genuine fucking retard, please kill yourself so you won't pollute the gene pool.

>mfw need 3 fucking Ber for Enigma or half the classes suck
Fuck Lower Kurast. I shouldn't have made that Infinity. Lightning isn't even good without Griffons.

Attached: 1530304068847.gif (500x500, 971K)

2d shit?

>Blizzard already stated that a D2 remaster is almost impossible.
No, one of the D2 devs stated that a correct remaster is almost impossible, hence:
> whether or not they can pull it off without fucking everything up is another question.
There were a lot of game mechanics based on the % stats giving their bonuses at certain breakpoints; e.g. if you had 80% faster hit recovery it would take 8 frames for your char to recover and you'd need 110% FHR on gear for it to drop to 7 frames for your char to recover. Having anywhere from 81% to 109% was just as good as having 80% which meant sometimes it was optimal to "save up" and switch out 2 pieces of gear at a time rather than wearing the best item you found for each slot.

PoE > Titan Quest > Grim Dawn > others when it comes to D2-ness.
Grim Dawn is a cheap Titan Quest knockoff. Get Titan Quest unless you don't like mythological creates and have a hard-on for GRIM DARKNESS OF THE 41ST MILLENIUM.

I don't like how tame the latest XL or even Sigma versions feels. I miss the chaos and the fuck you attitude of early itinerations.

>calls me a retard
>can't point to a single case of depth of field being used in an ARPG

A fucking retard.

thats ok, i just want a true predecessor to d2. Blizzard will 90% chance fuck it up but that 10% is my only shot

>studied what skills do
My PC back then didnt even have internet connection. I got my hands on the game by my cousin burning it on 3 separate CDs and writing cdkey on the cd. Then i couldnt activate the game because i misstook 2 with Z and 0 with O. I had to call him with my dads phone to get a hint about it.

And i couldnt use english at all. And necromancer looked weird to me. Who would play as a creepy old man?

So devs either admited their design flaws or listened to casuals cries. Only proves my point.

Attached: 1553591258441.jpg (865x631, 63K)

>Who would play as a creepy old man?
He's not old and has skulls and can raise skellingtons. He's pretty darn cool.
>I couldn't use English
Then no warning would've saved you.

Not that user, but it is possible to add DoF into an isometric area depending on the perspective it's just that by being said, adding it to D2 seems to be very pointless.

I wouldn't want it based on how badly Blizzard is botching the Warcraft 3 remake.

>Still iron maiden curse in diablo 2 was just bad design
It was bad design, but not for the reasons you claim. Obviously it was a curse, and if you really wanted to know what it did without using a guide you could roll a necromancer and try out the curses.

Why it was bad design was because:
>1. it was instant cast so it took effect without warning
>2. on harder difficulties it was instantly lethal if you attacked with it
>3. it utterly neutralized certain characters-- didn't matter who cast it, once you had it you couldn't do anything about it, unlike e.g. dual immune monsters which could be avoided.

For certain characters there was literally no counterplay to it. You can't prepare for it because its instant, you can't mitigate it because the damage being reflected was so immense, and you can't avoid it because as long as you were in the map area a monster could cast it on you.

You had normal and nightmare to figure out what curses are and it wasn't like it was some random monster-specific debuff, it was a player-class's ability. Anyway, they def removed it like 10 years down the line.

D3 is literally 2 without the talent tree and more grinding.

ARPGs have been the exact same fucking game since D2 released. Even fps games have branched out into hundreds of different variations.

>Lightning isn't even good without Griffons.
all you need is infinity and static shock. every new ladder season I botted with a welfare blizz sorc until I had the runes for infinity then made a light sorc for the second bot and it rarely died, maybe once every 100 runs until it hit level 93~. though it was only running countess/andy/summoner/lower&upper kurast chests/meph/pindle/nihl. added in chaos and baal once merc got strong enough and she was geared a little more but I never used Griffons on them.

Grim Dawn has much more content, an interesting world/lore and a better gameplay. Titan Quest has much better aesthetics and general art direction.
And I can hardly call a game from the same developers a knockoff.

>ARPGs have been the exact same fucking game since D2 released
Ironically, Dark Souls took Diablo into a new direction.

Just play Path of Exile.

DS feels more like Maze of Galious with Severance combat.

>wanting a (((remaster)))
Why? Remasters and remakes are low effort, easy money cash grabs. If you want to play Diablo 2 then play Diablo 2, no need for a remaster

He looks like the corpses he uses in his rituals.

Attached: i1483598545852346.jpg (540x314, 46K)

>not thinking Necromancer looks cool as fuck in your formative age

I just wanted to farm mostly CS as I like the theme there, maybe some Baal and Pits so I was excited to make Infinity. Tried it for some time, but lightning mobs took ages to die and with Crescent Moon I have fuckall resistances. So I went back to Blizzard farming Meph, Pindle, AT with 3x Tal, Shako, Deaths Fathom.

Infinity is amazing thanks to movement speed and CB so I use it regularly on my Barb or Necro, but not having Enigma is painful. Though I can farm CS and Baal pretty well with my Barb, if only at /p1.

Never forget.

Attached: 18j2ka0qy6pykjpg.jpg (1600x900, 200K)

>without talent ree and skill points
>with childish depth to the loot system
>with a level cap of 60 for god knows what reason
>with no replay ability

looks like trash, glad they scrapped it.

>Grim Dawn has much more content, an interesting world/lore
>And I can hardly call a game from the same developers a knockoff.
Grim Dawn came out 10 years after Titan Quest and it uses the same game engine, more than that all the abilities have similar graphical effects and behave in the same way as TQ... Grim Dawn is a glorified mod of TQ that the devs try to pass off as a full game. On top of that, they very obviously planned for Grim Dawn to have expansions/sequels and "Grim Dawn" by itself feels incomplete.

Grim Dawn is a good game because Titan Quest is a good game, but the devs are pretty scummy.

To me the best looking char at that time was paladin: holy nigger man. He had cool looking armor, shield and noble cause. Also i never seen nigger before at that time.

I still remember how everything was beating my ass in last hell act so i foolishly put skill points into fire resistance aura and tried to farm diamonds and find any decent shield to raise the elemental resistances.
>only decade later i found out that most of the flames attacks in hell isnt actually fire attack at all

Attached: hqdefault-1.jpg (480x360, 39K)

It was soulful

Attached: descarga.jpg (284x177, 12K)

D3 is significantly worse than D2, retard.

I'm happy that we're getting WC3 Reforged, D2 Remaster would be cool but WC3 Remaster was my priority.

what level and equipment were you using on her as a light sorc?

Don't forget the cartoony WoW arty style and the terrible story.

youtube.com/watch?v=XheJnmLAwhk
Why was D3 OST so shit?

D2 wasn't spectacular either. What you posted is from 1.

90+ and full Tals, but lightning mobs took fucking ages to kill, so I tried to go with a Crescent Moon and a 20% FCR circlet which was a lot better offensive wise but made me squishy as fuck.

In the end I just farm CS and WSK with my Barb, it's not the fastest but it's pretty comfortable as I don't have to constantly scavenge and chug potions all the time.

we need a black Paladin

it was a fucking mmo
story and art being soul was literally a coincedence due to the talent of people in charge of those aspects, the people designing the game were soulless lootwhore autists

like, the cutscenes weren't written or made by Blizz North, that was just the cutscene team at Blizz doing whatever the fuck they wanted on D1, and being given a tangential sideplot to animate in D2 almost completely removed from the ingame plot

this is quite possibly the most depressing realization with D1&2, that all the soul was a happy accident due to the freedom given to talented people, and the leads even then were D3 mentality fuckboys

you shut your face, Tristram might be the greatest song ever so it's unfair to expect everything to be that, furthermore neither were all the other songs in D1 as good for that matter, listen to D2's soundtrack, it's great, and especially the act 1 stuff is just more D1 style music

>90+ and full Tals
yeah, I rarely used tals besides maybe the amy and belt until I found something better so prob why I didn't have much trouble. since I usually ran up to 4 bots I didn't care too much for MF%. So I just mainly used uniques and runewords for gear whatever gave me the highest damage output along with survivability.

>rock and roll reddit
you have to go back

>look guys HD D2!
>main char is ant
fuck off, D2 was designed to be played at 640x480, that's the intended field of vision, and the art and aesthetic only conveys the darkness and oppressiveness at that perspective, even LoD's 800x600 pulls the camera back too far and makes the game lose soul

any HD attempt has to preserve intended aspect ratio, otherwise it's pointless, why do you think D3 feels so shit? people making it were turboautist whose frame of reference was LoD res, so they pulled the camera back even further because they're clueless

You sound like one of those fags who think playing a Doom sourceport is wrong because all the new options make the game "soulless". Or that old console games need to be played on CRT. Nobody likes elitists like you, fuck off.

They are saving that for when they need money or a smokescreen again.
You get wc3 remaster for now, so shut up and say thank you.

>make new game that's a spiritual sequel
>"scummy" and a "knockoff"
That's some stupid thinking there user.
There's nothing wrong with giving people more of what they like. And I disagree, GD is a full package even without the two (very good) expansions.
Lets not forget they patch in content for free as well.

Personally, both games are great, but I think GD is just better overall. Both games are better than PoE as well.

>hurrdurr you're like [insert inaccurate comparison here]
hey there faggot, did you miss the part where I literally explained the thing you brushed off?
here let me explain via comparison so your brain can comprehend it, the thing I talk about is like having a TV show that recorded in widescreen but framed/blocked for 4:3 getting a new bluray release using the source footage unblocked, which results in a bunch of shit not being in frame becoming visible, only to reveal the end of the set, extras doing nothing and the film crew

That time was the last Blizzcon. Remaster will never happen

Attached: blacked.jpg (700x1183, 160K)

relevant.jpg

it's a lot sadder than that, SC remaster happened because Korea and esports, while WC3 remaster happened because the HotS team had nothing to do after their content plans were shitcanned, HotS team was the RTS divison that made SC2 btw

they're not saving anything, the only way D2 remaster happens is because another version of D4 got scrapped and rebooted so they decide to put people in the Diablo divison on a remaster in the mean time, aka what might actually be happening now since the souls like D4 thing got shitcanned

Imagine approach a random little guy and tell him you'll buy nice things for him if he sent pics to you.

There is literally nothing wrong with running Diablo 2 in a bigger window with more sightlines though. What you bitch about is a nitpick, you can still run the game in a tiny ass window if you so wish, but don't take away the option for other people who would actually like to run the game at a modern resolution (99% of people who play games).
The fact you say it's "soulless" leads me to believe you don't have any actual reason why it would effect the game negatively (because it doesn't). Seeing more is better from a gameplay standpoint.

Diablo 1 and 2 are one of the few games that look good filtered

>currency farm simulator
The problem with PoE is that it's designed to keep you playing forever. That in itself shouldn't be the goal, it should be a side effect of making a great game.

>play D2 in windowed
play 640x480 in fullscreen you tick
>muh gameplay I can C moar
can your retarded brain not comprehend "you need to have the camera close enough to see the detail in the enviroment to get a real sense for the art and atmoshpere in the game, which was the intent"
oh wait, you're complaining about being able to snipe shit in the distance easier, you're (that) dumbfuck

That's why Grim Dawn is the better game. Single player/co-op game that has faster leveling/respec and good replayability > MMO grindfest trading sim

>tfw nobody will make another mod like Estern Sun that lets you tailor mods onto items without RNG bullshit

Get better eyes grandpa, I have no problem seeing the environmental details.

tried playing Grim Dawn, only got as far as those first few caves and the abandoned village, game looks like a gamma edited D3 and still weirdly mmo-ey on the UI front, and it played kinda boring

wrong end of the stick there retardo

People love playing online, though. I think MMO-lite elements could work in an ARPG, the problem would obviously be balance. That being said, a skill rather than gear dependant system would be pretty neat to have in an ARPG. Especially if you'd implement an invasion-type PvP system to keep things fresh.

But that's hard to pull off, many games today rely entirely on a skinner box to keep you hooked. Maybe the ban on lootboxes will come through and devs are allowed to make good games again instead of being forced to design systems that only exist to frustrate you to the point where you're willing to pay money.

Blizzcon 2019. Diablo 4 is announced.

Are you smart enough not to buy it? I doubt I am.

Attached: diablo.png (600x488, 412K)

buy if diablo has boobs again

Diablo 2 was SHIT, anyone thinking otherwise is just blinded by nostalgia

>99% Of your bag space is taken up by charms
>UI was total fucking dogshit (2 spells at a time wtf?)
>Game was short as hell (Beat in one sitting)
>Multiplayer was laggy and broken
>Everyone hacked and duped without ever being banned
>Classes were insanely unbalanced in PVP
>Game can't even be played on Windows 10 without being heavily modded
>Looks like shit
>Plays like shit
>Game is shit

And you guys want a remaster of this garbage?

Attached: ZbQqaze.jpg (676x508, 14K)

if lootboxes get banned devs will just have to find another way to bleeed you dry, that's what the shareholders demand

Diablo 4 would probably be fun for a hundred hours or so, depending on how fast you realize Blizzard's design philosophy is built around addiction rather than good gameplay. You'd probably get your money's woth out of it, if that's what you're concerned about. But it won't be a game you can sink your teeth into for months on end, Blizzard is way too far gone to be able to pull it off. They think they know how things work, they're Blizzard after all. But the people and the philosophy that made Blizz big in the first place have long since abandoned ship, so they don't really have a firm ground to stand on, yet they still think they do. Hence the recent fuck-ups.

Doesn't help that the """progressiveness""" they employ as a smokescreen to deflect criticism blocks every conversation attempt, because criticism is obviously just an attempt from sexist gamernazis to get what they want.

Im eagerly awaiting d4 to throw money at then bitch about on Yea Forums

>game from 1999 is shit
>because wont't run on OS from 2015
lol

I don't think they'll develop a new strategy that fast that's as successful as selling 'not-gambling' to people. The big publishers that rake in billions through lootboxes will crash hard if that gets through. Not to the point where they'll have to disband, but hard enough that they need to consider their next steps very carefully. After all, a weakened market is a prime target for new investments. It's hard to sell new ideas to investors if you have no real backup plan, but I think in the long run it would be pretty good for the gaming industry to shrink a little.

D3 is way less addiction focused than something like PoE, it's pretty much optimized for playing it for a week or two per season.
And that's probably why they stopped making content for it

D2 in D3 engine? no thx m8
