Why don't Nintendo just come straight and make make Link a couple? The strong bond between them has been an essential plot element for several games and there aren't any Zelda girls popular enough that people would really be offended
Why don't Nintendo just come straight and make make Link a couple...
>make Link a couple
Well pray tell user. A couple of what?
>Why don't Nintendo just come straight and make make Link a couple?
The reasons movie characters generally don't start out as couples. Its a storytelling trope to make you invested in the characters/story.
Its the reason most mainstream movies will always feature two characters of child-birthing age hooking up BECAUSE of the story.
A couple of niggers
Because shipping is cancer and Zelda is not about romance. It's about adventure. Go jerk off.
>Its the reason most mainstream movies will always feature two characters of child-birthing age hooking up BECAUSE of the story.
But Zelda games never even end that way
>implying finding and marrying a princess isn't a key adventure trope
>But Zelda games never even end that way
Some do. Even Zelda 2 had them kissing at the end.
Hidden behind a curtain
It's going to hold the game down. Zelda games shouldn't really have too much narrative to start with.
BOTW Link and Paya were made for eachother
BotW had the least narrative of any Zelda game in a while and that narrative centered around Zelda's crush on Link
Once you break the seal on will they/wont they you can't go back and you might be faced with the situation where the characters being paired up is actually less interesting then getting people in a froth over imagining them being together. Honestly I think people actually prefer the tease. Then once it's in one game outside are going to want it in all of them. Like how people expect Bioware games to let you bone down and even though the one good thing Anthem did was moving away from forced romances people were upset that it wasn't in there.
OoT Link canonically marries Maron and TP Link is the descendant.
>But Zelda games never even end that way
Skyward Sword and Zelda II beg to differ. The rest, maybe they DON'T end up together. Twilight Princess, for example. Same with Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask.
>centered around Zelda's crush on Link
no it didn't
You can make it official while still leaving plenty to the imagination
Skyward Sword completely cops out and relies on innuendo
Link is usually a direct descendant of Link and Zelda is always a direct descendant of Zelda.
What strong bond do they have?
Yes, it did
>Zelda spends game only thinking about herself
>Can't use powers
>Suddenly sees guy she's in love with about to die
>Power comes out
That's it
>Link is usually a direct descendant of Link
But the very first Link and Zelda hook up in SS
What's even the point of making an 'official' Link/Zelda couple? Should they add drawn out emotional soap opera scenes with them too?
that's fine and all, but the series has been going for like 20 years. What're they waiting for?
It's Link's sole motivator in ST, SS, and BotW
finally, someone with good taste.
At least 2 of those 6 they become a couple.
>Should they add drawn out emotional soap opera scenes with them too?
They already are, yet while still pretending there's nothing between them so it comes off as stupid. I'm asking for Nintendo to commit to a vision. Either they're crazy for each other like ST or couldn't care less like in TP. SS and BotW are desperate to have it both ways and it's groan worthy
I count 4 with 5 possible
Paya and Riju are better than Zelda in BotW. Zelda's only the best girl in SS, ST, and WW.
And that's a trick you can only pull so many times before Link and Zelda have webbed feet.
You think they can't be friends? They have to want to fuck each other?
It's never once been done in a convincing way except for the ones who are kids and will simply fuck when they grow up
Link is made for dick.
and OoT established that Zelda can grow one
>there aren't any Zelda girls popular enough that people would really be offended
I'd say that TP Link and Zelda had very little connection and that it'd be safe to say that he had more of a thing towards Midna. It's sad really, TP Link loved Midna and will never see her again and so will never love again.
you're a sad little man
>Ignores the main point
Give me a single well-done Link/Zelda friendship story
>multiple generations of direct descendants having romantic ties
That's incest. But that's true to the medieval roots I guess.
not him but OoT
They never show any sort of romantic interest in one another outside of the non canon manga.
Plus OoT link has other love interests, fucks off on his own adventure in majoras mask, and dies with enough regrets to become the hero shade, who is almost certainly still a knight/adventurer and not a king.
Where did Zelda fans get this notion that any Links are related, let alone all of them
>not him but OoT
You mean where the game she ruins his life?
outside of potentially Oot to TP non of the links are related
Midna is actually the one good female friendship story in the series
