Do you have any irrational OCD habits when it comes to video games? For me, it's always using default controls no matter what- whenever I change them it bugs the shit out of me until I change it back even if it's objectively better
Do you have any irrational OCD habits when it comes to video games? For me...
Sry but that's a stupid compulsion.
I feel the same way. I just feel that I want to play the way the dev intended and changing the controls changes that for me.
I hoard consumable items knowing I'll never need them or use them
I play through to one ending, then reload my save and watch the other ending
I reload my gun after only firing a couple shots
I like to create a manual save file and then see if my boss/mission provider is immune to friendly fire or not
If there is an option to disable the hud, I will
I always change my keybindings on games that only use the keyboard to WASD instead of using arrow keys, I don't get it. Many people use WASD for most games anyway so using your right hand to control with arrow keys seems odd.
All graphics settings have to be set to max
>stealth game
>enter new area, several ways to sneak and kill enemies
>save and try out every lethal option available
>load savegame and proceed with the one I like most
>repeat
>get bored with the game because it takes too long to finish it and drop it eventually
I get very autistic about looting every container and every piece of gold no matter how small or unimportant it is, luckily my autism or whatever the fuck you wanna call it, not like I've been diagnosed with OCD[/spoiler ]only kicks in when I'm very tired
Don’t forget to throw some paper in the bowl too so it doesn’t splash
>Game takes hours to play and has multiple endings
>Realize when I'm near the end I'm not getting the true ending
>Immediately abandon the save temporarily just so I could get the true ending first
Other than that
>Changing the name of a character
>Using rare items
>Not finishing the game seeing every possible scenario
I used to work at a bowling alley and after we close I would go into the women's bathroom and check to see of anyone didn't flush the toilet after use. If I found an unflushed toilet I would try to jerk off as quickly as I could so that I could cum in the toilet before flushing it.
I absolutely need to explore everything and finish every sidequest the moment I get it, usually it drags out forever and I don't finish the game, it's hell
Based.
gives a whole new meaning for BOWLing alley haha
I automatically check out the options even when I just booted up the game for the first time and tone down special/after effects even today when I have a better GPU and could easily run it
Wow, same here. I always turn off AA, old habits die hard.
Exhausting every single string of NPC dialogue I can. It's why I've never been able to play Trails in the Sky
I'm weirdly polar about mission objectives of any kind, I'll either completely ignore the info and just wing it or, and especially if my prior attempt fails, I'll check the menu for the conditions, close it, ask myself if I got all that right and open it again.
You might think that's just double checking, completely normal, but you see it doesn't matter the complexity or quantity of the conditions.
It could be a simple single line of "go talk to [Character]" and I'll feel nervous after closing the menu that I missed something about what I read unless I confirm it's as I recall it.
It's why I could never speedrun or stream even if I wanted to, I'd waste way too much time.
I have actual real non-meme OCD and have had it since I was 5. Oddly enough I have no "habits" with games in the stereotypical OCD sense.
When my TV or monitor goes black when loading games or levels I duck and turn away so I don't see my reflection on the screen.
for me, its clearing up areas
>go through shitty swamp area
>i know every item there, i dont need a single one
>tell myself to rush it and go to the next area
>end up going to every corner, kill every enemy and pick up every item
i cant avoid it, i hate it but i do it every time
>accidentally skip a line of dialogue
>entire playthrough is ruined
Yeah you could say that
Well that ain't irrational really, motion blur and ambient occlusion are objectively terrible and only exist to mask shitty framerates on consoles
In RPGs I hoard equipment like motherfucking Diogenes syndrome. Even if I'm not going to use that shitty bronce shield ever again I just can't sell it becasue WHAT IF I NEED IT LATER?
I'm adverse to ever using fast travel. In 99% of games that means nothing more than I'm willingly wasting my time but fast travel always just feels so wrong to use.
I planned to make a thread like this but I guess ill use this chance. Pretty much what . I think I had over 80 hours of vanilla Skyrim done and I never finished the story, I never even got to the point where I had to go and find the Blades hideout, I found it by myself after exploring almost all of Skyrim, I would go and repeat quests that served no purpose other than giving more of the already huge ammounts of money I had, I would grab every book I hadnt read yet and put it in the shelves of every house I owned as a thane, I think I resetted at least 5 times the Stealth skill tree, I could kill in a few hits pretty much every single enemy that wasnt those faggots Forsworns with the heart things and the dragon priests, even if I tried to get back at it now, I dont think I would finish it without at least playing it 30 more hours trying to see if I didnt miss anything in the world before continuing the main story.
Always turn off v-sync, motion blur, depth of field and ambient occlusion. All they do is hinder framerate for "muh cinematic" bullshit.
Yup I'm the same way, put maybe 100 hrs into Skyrim and never finished the main story
>play rpg or mmorpg
>make character
>progress a lot
>realize i dont like the appearance/ think of a better name
>delete it, dont care about rare items obtained and time/energy expended
>make a new one
>repeat until i make a character i wont dislike for some frivolous reason
man i could have finished so many games in like half the time or less i have of playtime
I always watch closing credits.
The rest I can understand, but v-synch? That shit annoys me
Fuckin saaaame. I do hoard valuable items, but ive never had an autistic freakout about using them like PatStaresAt. Sometimes i have to pull a trigger and gunshoot unnecessarily because i NEED to touch it with every finger, but it doesnt really come up
Why would you go through the ordeal and take a shit in a public restroom?
>bug means quest remains active in your journal forever
What are you gonna do instead, shit your pants? Not everyone has the luxury of being a neet whos always a few steps away from the home toilet
>Pic
Based Japan knows how to take care of my germaphobia.
>Have to touch it to dispense the soap
Absolutely revolting
>implying the hygiene conditions are everywhere as disgusting as in your country
Touch it with another piece of paper.
Whenever I play Minecraft i need the stack of blocks in my inventory to be an even number. Even then I'd prefer either 16, 32, or 48; with 32 being a majir goal, so even if I get 34 in a stack it bothers me. This sometimes bleeds into other games with stuff like ammo counters, but it's not as consistent.
Another problem is that when I see a typo I make in a post after I've posted it, such as 'majir' instead of 'major', I feel super embarrassed and leave the thread most of the time. But that might just be autism and not OCD
Toilet is a filthy place by default, just like the floor.
I am really surrounded by autists
in fact, one of the things I learned playing games is to let go of my autism so the games become more fun
it has been almost like the goal of the journey, to overcome the autism and become a normal human being
Playing games fixes autism
There came a point in Skyrim where I had the best equipment in the game and enough money to buy anything I came by. I was looting a bundle of urns in a dungeon when I realized how silly it was. I barely check for items anymore. It's spread to every game I play. I don't even check the items I pick up anymore.
