The Dark Souls games were challenging but at least they were enjoyable experiences

This is just frustrating

Attached: 220px-Sekiro_art.jpg (220x275, 23K)

DON'T learn how to play properly or it becomes even worse, just a shitty ass easy boss rush game.

Honestly OP the game is easy, it's really not that difficult at all. Once you actually understand that you shouldn't play it like a souls game and actually learn to use your deflects it becomes a walk in the park.

I don't fully agree, yes it becomes easy but I still enjoy the boss fights. Their movesets can be fun if you don't exploit them.

I quit at corrupted monk illusion. I'll pick it up again when dlc comes out.

This also apply for Dark Souls/Bloodborne

nice try

>Sekiro
>frustrating and/or more challenging that Souls
Stop posting any time

Fuck off

It's true though, unless you are a complete scrub.

>NOOOOOOOOOOO I CANNOT SUMMON TWO MORE PEOPLE TO KILL MY BOSS NOOOO
>NOOOOOO WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T JUST FACETANK THE BOSSES
>NOOOO HOW CAN'T I NOT STAGGER THE BOSSES

>start a new run when you reach the top of the castle and beat the lightning sword guy
>optimize your build, figure out what skills are worth taking (the vast majority of them are dogshit, especially the expensive combat arts)
>realize that you have no stamina bar, you can play as aggressively as humanly possible
pretty good game but you can't play it as a Souls game

the real issues are the lack of customization and shitty ass loot; exploration also sucks (no hidden shit or interconnected world)

oh and if you play on PC, get the FPS unlocked
it fixes the camera, has an auto-loot feature, and you can speed up the game (+8-20% is really fun)

>build

Attached: 1532365052161.jpg (374x374, 41K)

Maybe he thinks that selecting some prosthetics and skills is a build?

desu the ogre is a shit boss
>can't be backstabbed
>shitty moveset, slow but hard to track big ass hitboxes
>looks ugly
>tracking grab move
>throws you down the cliff
>three fucking trash mobs around him, one is hard to kill, the other requires a dodge due to his range (you won't have mikiri counter that early in the game)
ironically the best tutorial boss is right before Genichiro
he's very easy to read, but forces you to parry properly
a nerfed version of that guy should've been the first mini-boss

>no in hidden shit or interconnected world
You are wrong on so many instances. There are an abundance of secret areas and chests that grant you extra prayer beads and good loot. There are hidden boss fights as well. The world loops around and does actually interconnect pretty well, better than what DS3 did.

so how does it feel not to be able to over lvl your character and cheese the rest of the content??

I love it honestly, but it's clear the skilless fags like op and the journalists can't wrap their little heads around it. They are losing their fucking minds lmao

nobody with a brain and two hands does this. Are you trying to tell us something user? How much did you struggle in this game? kek

>extra prayer beads
+% stat buffs are boring
>good loot
I wouldn't call a handful of pellets good loot; the only noteworthy, somewhat hidden stuff was the Raven Feather, also known as the prosthetic no one uses

all they had to do is make the mini-bosses and chests contain the prosthetic upgrades and active combat skills

Are you for real? Most faggot normalfags who play souls games do this. On top of that they summon as well. Just look at how people are losing their minds because they can't do these things anymore. If you and your friends aren't in this category then I congratulate you, you aren't a mindless drone.

>all they had to do is make the mini-bosses and chests contain the prosthetic upgrades and active combat skills
This would have been great yes.

it's a rhythm game you scrub. just stop trying to roll around like a retarded barrel

psh hahahaha ive already beater this game a week after release. and
>nobody with a brain and two hands does this
just shows how pretty naive you are or just masking the fact the you are doing this. either way you cant flame me on a game ive already beaten, try again brainlet

you are a man of culture, im glad people with working brain like you enjoys the game like i do

Outside of the git gud meme, this game has nothing, it's more like a fighting game where you walk to the enemies, still enjoyable, but big laziness from the devs, after BB and darksouls

>The Dark Souls games were challenging
Oh yeah, I sure cannot wrap my mind around locking on and slowly walking to one side so 99.9% of enemies literally can't hit me. What's even more confusing is getting high-damage, fully-invincible, uninterruptible backstabs after doing the aforementioned. Too hardcore for me!

Attached: hulkin time.jpg (755x423, 71K)

Why is this compared so much to Souls? Souls is slow and at least with this game you are very mobile. If youre telling me grabby bosses are bullshit when you have a jump back move that lets you practically move 10 feet backwards then youre just trolling

>Why is this compared so much to Souls?
Retards think a FROM game with checkpoints and refillable health item == souls game

The ogre is a shit boss but he's hardly representative of Sekiro as a game. It's just one early game mini-boss and one optional enemy in the late game.
>forces you to parry properly
It most certainly does not.
The most effective strategy against him is sprinting to bait an attack and then slashing a few times then repeating until he's dead. The reason he's shit is precisely because he's teaching the player to play the wrong way.

Imagine getting filtered right before the good parts of the game.

What cliff is in the dojo ogre?

>ironically the best tutorial boss is right before Genichiro
>he's very easy to read, but forces you to parry properly

Jinsuke is not an ogre.

>spent 50 bucks on this shit
>finished it
>didnt enjoy a single second of it except for maybe the owl fight that was actually pretty fun
i really dont know how hard it is for them to make something as good as bloodborne, forcing me to use a shitty dexfag katana and giving me prosthetics that i can't even use consistently because they run out and the cost goes up as i play so there's no incentive to use them. probably the most underwhelming from release, it's only a little better than dark souls 2

Attached: 1508364938390.png (434x245, 189K)

is the ogre right before Genichiro you mong

but Sekiro is much easier than DaS3 and Bloodborne

Oh thank fuck I'm not the only one, that cunt is a chore. I looked up the only fair non cheese strategy to fight CM and the dude took 10 minutes of shaving off damage.

I'm going to practice that fireworks and ash trick because this boss is annoying to fight.

>make uninformed purchase
>complain about wasting money

The difference between Sekiro and Dark Souls is basically this imo

In Dark Souls the game is on your side. If you get your ass kicked by a boss and think "hey fuck you I'll just shoot you with arrows from the top of a cliff". Well you can try that and it will very likely work. If you want to be a tank you can be a tank (yes, even in DS3). If you want to be a kite you can be a kite. You can dance around bosses and pick away at their health, or you can go all wiki-crazy and min/max all your shit and go in and three shot them (or even one shot sometimes).

Sekiro doesn't have much of this. You will play Sekiro the way the designers intended and YOU WILL LIKE IT GOD DAMNIT. This mentality is backed up by its fanbase who repeatedly tell players they just need to learn the system the game is trying to tell you how to play (which I don't entirely agree with because there -are- some alternative methods to victory in Sekiro, although there is nothing close to a "build" in this game).

Dark Souls is an action RPG. Sekiro is a pure action game closer to something like Rondo of Blood.

i had hope in fromsoft, their last 2 releases are masterpieces (not deracine)

>If you get your ass kicked by a boss and think "hey fuck you I'll just shoot you with arrows from the top of a cliff".
meant to say enemy, since in Dark Souls you usually can't do this kind of thing to a boss (usually!)

Frustratingly easy?
Stop perpetuating this meme that Sekiro is the hardest FromSoft game. Maybe if you remove Kuro's charm, but in regular NG, it's one of the easiest
Take a general bossfight;
>In Souls (and Bloodborne) you can either dodge or block, sometimes parry, but the window is very small
>Blocking drains stamina, can't guard all attacks and being guard broken generally means you're fucked
>If you fuck up dodge timing, you're going to get hit for a lot of HP
>Failing a parry means you get a lot of damage (and stamina damage) from the attack AND be open for follow up attacks
Then
>Sekiro has same mechanics, with addition of a jump
>Guarding drains posture, but regens faster when actually guarding and not getting hit
>Can guard everything that's not indicated by a huge sign
>Timing guard properly means you deflect, which damages their posture
>Unblockable attacks give huge openings you can exploit
>You can jump, sprint and dodge indefinitely, no stamina drain

I fucking loved Sekiro and really struggled at the start, because you don't know the mechanics yet. However, after everything falls into place (for me after lady Butterfly), it becomes fairly easy. Sure, it's still more challenging than most vidya, but it's the easiest game compared to DaS/BB games.

Oh forgot to say, if you 'spam' deflect, a failed deflect won't result in you being damaged, but in a regular guard. The window is also a lot more forgiving.

>This is just frustrating
Yes, I agree. The stuttering and freezes are insufferable.

Good post.

>I fucking loved Sekiro and really struggled at the start, because you don't know the mechanics yet. However, after everything falls into place (for me after lady Butterfly), it becomes fairly easy.
I agree.

Camera is the worst thing.

There's no ogre before Genichiro.

Fuck off

And most of the things you wrote are why I don't like Sekiro. Reasons why I don't like Dark Souls 3 as much.

I loved Dark Souls because of the lumbering nature of the player character, and the the methodical, heavy feeling combat. It's possible to play the game in a fast-paced manner, of course, but I didn't in my first playthrough and still prefer not to. This is where some of the RPG aspect comes in.

>Needing to practice cheese
Jesus christ, when did Yea Forums get invaded by casual scum?

Post a screenshot of the ogre that you're talking about.
There are precisely three ogres in the game. One is the obligatory casual filter boss on the stairs in outskirts. Second is the ogre in ashina castle's ground floor after Genichiro and before Owl, but he's optional and not before anyone. Third one is in Outskirts when it's on fire and is just a regular enemy there.

None of them are right before Genichiro.

STOP BEING SO STUPID

READ

Yeah I can understand people not enjoying it. It's really different from DaS. Regular enemies are never a threat, only (mini)bosses, while in DaS, some of the hardest parts are just paths through regular enemies.
I enjoyed that the combat was really a dance with a rhythm. It was very soothing and felt amazing. I just don't get why people think it's fucking hard, assuming they played the Souls games. Maybe they just summoned their way through them.

I have literally every trophy but the all skills one. I am still missing 24 levels, this is ridículous. aside from that its been a wild ride very fun game 8/10 cause of the shitty camera

Because user never talked about an ogre before Genichiro

Your lack of reading comprehension has caused you believe he has. Go back and read those posts again

Are you literally fucking retarded? The other user pointed to you MULTIPLE times that he's not talking about the ogre but the Ashina Elite. Literally learn2read you actual brainlet.

I do not mean this in a derogatory manner, but I believe Sekiro appeals more to autistic people. The way the game and combat is rigidly structured and the back and forth nature of the fighting then followed by the deathblow. Various anons have commented over many threads that this is why they love the game.

Rhythm games are also very popular with autistic people who love to follow the pattern and see how fast and accurate they can be with it.

I do not mean this as an offense, merely an observation.

The original user was talking about the elite samurai mini-boss being a better starting boss than the ogre. I'm not replying to you anymore.

The camera is what fucks it up for me as well. I just wish Fromsoft would fix their fucking camera in their games.

I would not bother. It takes too long to earn skill points near the end.

Most Japanese gamers are borderline autistic so you're not too far off.

>recycled bosses
this is the only legit complain good job

I became the cheese when from decided to release a boss that takes 10 minutes of slogging back and forth regardless of skill because of its bullshit health.

i beat a lot of bosses in one try and then ill get stuck on a boss for a long time. This game is difficult. I never summoned in dark souls...
I beat corrupted monk and headless ape on my first try

Stop giving excuses. You're bad. Has nothing to do with From. Fuck off.

If you're referring to corrupted monk I feel sorry for you. You can literally skip one of it's phases, it's not difficult, you're not suppose to take down it's health but push up the posture bar. You clearly suck at the game. Corrupted monk can be beat in 4 minutes or less easy.

I guarantee you I'm better at fromsoftware games than you, and my dick is bigger. You fuck off faggot

prove it

You either like learning the boss fights and love the game, or you don't and you don't love it.

>I guarantee you I'm better at fromsoftware games than you
Clearly you aren't, since you can't even take down corrupted monk without cheese. It's one of the easiest bosses in the game.

Yea Forums is a safe for work board, you're just trying to get me banned and I'm not falling for it. Fuck you, I'm done replying to your shit.

fuck you faggot I wanted you to prove you're better at fromsoft games
nobody gives a fuck about your dick you miserable attention whore

>you either suck at the game or you don't
fixed it for you

If this wasn't a From Software game but instead of the newer Souls-like games out there Yea Forums would have torn it to shreds.

Yea Forums will just tell you to git gud but you're 100% right. The type of difficulty in this is completely different, and not in a better way.

nah, it would probably be regarded as one of the better clones.

This is true, nobody would care about it

U mad autist? Kill yourself lol

People who claim they beat "most" of the bosses on their first try are lying desu

Probably not user. Not even joking, I sincerely doubt it if you need to cheese corrupted monk.

Skill can be a factor but even then the game doesn't have much beyond bosses.

>Sekiro appeals more to autistic people
>I do not mean this in a derogatory manner
that's honestly true

Attached: -_r1ZHfT_400x400.jpg (400x400, 30K)

Why do people even judge this as a Souls game when it's really just a simplified Tenchu with some vague Souls elements?

I sort of agree because enemies basically do the same thing every time. after 1 or if you're lucky 2/3 hits then they just block everything till they do the same 1 or 2 moves. makes the combat feel pretty boring.

every boss but ss isshin and the minibosses took me under 5 tries. hell genichiro I almost beat on the first try but fucked up the timing on the first thunder strike by jumping too early and getting caught with the stun.

if you want to get the achievement it's better to just go into another ng+ instead of farming

he shouldnt take more than 5-6 min regardless your strategy

you just suck ass user, true monk will rape your little asshole if you even make it there

Frustrating only if you refuse to learn how to play properly :^)

Learn to play and work on your mistakes. I'm currently on NG+4/Charm/Bell and it's still a cakewalk. Back in the day people also complained about Dark Souls and now people play it blindfolded.

I don't understand why they made levels scale that high. Once you're at the point where you unlocked all the skills, you've played so much that they're not worth using anymore. This is a problem I have with a lot of games. You get the good stuff way too late.

5 is not 1

Dark Souls players: "git gud"
Sekiro players: "learn to play properly"

hmm

Attached: 741 KBa.jpg (552x607, 22K)

I'M STUCK ON THE FINAL BOSS :( :( I HATE HIM. But what I hate even more is that shit fight that isn't entirely brainless, which forces me to waste concentration on the way to the final boss.

t. Filtered by ogre

Attached: 1553083944906.jpg (954x586, 168K)

>The Dark Souls games were challenging
>Can beat them however you want
>A gorillion ways to cheese them
>Challenging
The absolute state of soulsfaggots.

if I can beat most "casual filters" in under 5 tries when I'm not even that great, then I really doubt that it's a stretch to think people beat them on their try. especially since I came close with quite a few them. genichiro, owl 1, ape and headless ape.

which final boss? ending changes who you fight?

>you won't have mikiri counter
Excuse me? You can get it after your first skill point. That was like the first skill I bought.

This is an actual spoiler, not trolling, if you care about the final boss do not read this. Ishinn, the Sword Saint. Phase 2. It's so unforgiving , I feel like I hit a brick wall

And another filtered casual.

>throws you down the cliff
Theres a tree stump right on that cliff you can use to recover instantly unless you're extremely unlucy

>three fucking trash mobs around him
Two can easily be killed without him noticing you and the spear guy will never notice your fight unless you're staying at the top of the stairs for some reason

just spam parry

Prosthetic + combat arts

easily the worst fanbase after smash and toddler games
>make any critique
>DUDE JUST GET GUD EPIC OWN XDDDD

Just parry it's fucking slow as hell and only has one phase.

>Dark Souls games were challenging
I literally play DS3 right now and beat 2/3 of bosses on first try by simply doing more damage than them and chunking on estus, and the rest 1/3 on second try by doing the same. Sekiro felt just right in terms of difficulty.

bait for the overhead swing to get chip damage, learn the timing for deflects (sword moves are pretty much the same, and the spear attacks give you plenty of time to see it coming), one thing that took me a while to get used to was not running away for more distance when he did lightening attacks. land those and you just made the fight way easier. other than that it felt more of an attrition fight. not that hard on it's own at each phase, but there's fucking 4 of them and they will each punish you if you let them. you'll get there though, don't worry.

I hate how easy these games become once you figure out the gimmick. For this one it's simply mashing attack until you hear a loud clang then blocking

Fight it normally a few times. Learn the moveset. Once you get decent at it, ash and fireworks until you run out, fight it normally, and you should build up enough posture damage to win.

>regular enemies are never a threat
I can't even think of a souls enemy that is more brutal than the purple ninjas

Is this game worth the current pricetag? I read that it doesn't really have any replayability because you can't make different builds like in DS.

no. but BB is the only from game I thought has been pretty decent since 1, so take that into consideration.

Imagine not having beaten this game a month ago.
