you don't have to make it a trend again, just have a good game.
Cunny Bunny!
a miracle?
2d fucking only, fuck your 3d clusterfuck shit camera and garbage controls bullshit
make sure the fucking devs play goddamn 80s/early 90s platformers for fucking weeks and months and make sure they know the difference in good platforming (Mario 3, Sonic) and shit platforming (DKC, every modern platformer ever)
3d platformers?
People just need to make games. The tools are already there, we have a bunch of freeware multiplayer only FPS games sitting around doing nothing, we can certainly turn those in to platformers.
There's one coming to PS4 in June and PC later in the year. Gameplay looks fun.

For you to buy them.
I know you're just looking for an excuse for a spyro waifus thread but we literally just had two top tier 3d platformers release in the same year back in 2017, either of which are candidates for a top 5 3d platformer of all time.
We're doing better than we should for games like this.

I mean Hat in Time is obvious thanks to your pic but what's the second? I'm drawing a serious blank.
obviously odyssey
...OF FUCKING COURSE
Sorry, I was retarded
Talisman!
>good platforming
>Sonic
fucking dumbass
I thought you were being a contrarian and going to go on a rant about how a universally lauded game is ackshually bad so I'm happier with this response.
It doesn't necessarily have to be "brought back", because it will just inflate the market again, but shouldn't be too niche so that nobody wants to invest in it. Step one would be to actually make good 3D platformers that appeal to more than pure nostalgia like Yooka Laylee. Remakes like N. Sane Trilogy may also have an element of nostalgia, but those games divert enough from the traditional 3D platformer to remain interesting to this day.
Not gonna lie, I completely forgot Odyssey came out 2017 and thought it came out a year later for some reason. Sorry about that, bro.
>half the models like Spyro and Bianca are fucking perfect
>half of them like Elora and the gnorcs are utter dogshit
What were they thinking?
Being able to fuck any creature.
Theres plenty of porn game genres but I dont recall seeing any 3d platformer versions
play a hat in time
I know the art is ugly just play it, it's really good.
Some easy way to push lootboxes and other monitization shemes as part of them
Honestly this, I don't want them to become overly dominant again since that means it'll pushed to be more casualized and easier and the stuff we love just becomes more simple. If it can just become a comfortable niche in the indie, A, AA sector of the market, that would be ideal.
Zoomer detected
Oh, it's definitely in my backlog. It's also Danish, so I need to support my fellow Scandis.
>Odyssey
>AHiT
>Crash R
>Spyro R
>Yooka
>Tropical Dong
We're you just not paying attention the last two years or...?
Other then the first two, the rest are remakes/port and one is kinda meh.
user, that's about 1 3D platformer per year this decade. Let's crank it up to at least 5 big ones per year.
Fuck Elora and marry Bianca.
>>Yooka
Get that political shitshow outta my face.

The Adventure games are not "platformers." They are classified as "action games" even by their developers. The jumping around is just a vehicle to get the player to the next scripted spectacle set piece. Basically, they have platforming elements, but they are a far cry from the original Sonic games which very much were platformers.
But more than that, as much as I don't like the boostshit mechanic, another Adventure game would be a step backward and would backfire really hard, which is why Sonic Team is making an uncharacteristically smart move in not attempting to produce it. People say they want it, but they really don't.
Nope, I only get hyped for promising 3D platformers. 2D platformers are entirely le indie dev content.
