It's up

yikes
gow shills probably like watching how their game is made more than actually playing it
>a literal movie that's nothing but self-wanking about all the "hard work" they went through to make the game
as if I needed a reason to stop giving a shit about anything Santa Monica Studios does now.
boring ass game
these fuckers probably masturbate with a mirror
They're always trying to make it look bigger than it actually is.
It's an okay game but nothing special, no one will remember it in a few months. Hell, most of "gamers" who bought it already forgot about it, thats why they keep promoting it even a year after the release, I suppose
WHERE IS MY WIFE’S SON
Based
jesus, even David Cage doesn't stoop this low and he's had his head up his ass for the last decade...
Too late to watch now, but I might watch this later just to better understand how they do big budget AAA development nowadays, and to see how they do the mocap and shit.
David Cage's best game has an 80 on metacritic I don't think anyone would want a documentary about it
What's wrong with being proud of your work? They're not shitting on your favorite game or even saying that their game is the best game ever, they're just showing how they made it in case anyone is interested
Why is anybody that's associated with Sony so damn pretentious?
nothing wrong with being proud of your work, but making a documentary and trying to treat it like a masterpiece in its own right is pretty fucking vapid
Absolutely NOBODY is ever proud of their work if they're not a pretentious dick.
You cannot create something perfect and after you release your product you see how flawed it actually is so you strive to make it even better next time, thus constantly improving your skills to reach that "perfection".
because its masturbatory as fuck. They also act like it's some huge service to the world when it's just a tropey AAA game funded by one of the biggest gaming companies in the world. To act like they went some dramatic struggle is fucking hilarious.
Didn't they do something similar with their previous titles?
A lot of companies make documentaries just in case they end up successful
I remember hearing about how the soccer team PSG greenlit a documentary after beating Barcelona 4-0 in the first leg of a champions league game then cancelling it after losing 6-1 in the second lmao
It's a tradition. They did a making-of for every other God of War game. Here's the one for GOW2 (also 2 hours):
youtube.com
Believe it or not, there *are* people who exist who liked GOW 2018 enough to want to watch this and they don't give a fuck if you think it's vapid.
>dramatic struggle
pretty sure they are joking about that, at least all the exaggeration
but God of War had always been successful, it's not like GOW was some random indie game that won a million awards, it was a new entry in a decade old franchise that was created and funded by a multi-billion dollar company.
I wish more games would do something like this
that GOW2 one though is literally just a 2 hour stream of information about the game, the "Raising Kratos" thing is trying to act like there was a bunch of tension and drama in making the game, right down to the fucking reality show/generic documentary soundtrack.
>they actually talk about the cancelled IP
Neato
All the more reason it's fine for them to have done it. It's not like they were wasting all their precious funding for the game by making a making-of video. And again, it's a tradition for GOW games
How would you know? You couldn't have watched it yet considering it's 2 hours long and was only uploaded 30 minutes ago
>we were so uncertain
>story was always changing
>mistake and redo
>pitched a paperthin idea that got approved
>features like swords weren't close to completed 6 months before release
This guy loves to brag on how insecure he and the entire game was during development. Pretty much confirming the game's quality's due to other people and any idiot could've helmed the thing. He even fell back to writing a story that would mirror his own problems with his kid instead of anything original, confirming his utter lack of skill.
There's nothing inspirational here unless you want to see a man-baby boast about his insecurities being made into a game by actually hard working professionals.
I flipped through the raising Kratos one and this was the first scene I saw:
>sad woman in a phone call with tense music playing while her boss tells her to work harder and how he can't change this one thing in time, and it cuts to another girl saying "and it was horrible, things just weren't going our way and I could tell things were only going to get worse" and shit like that
meanwhile the GOW2 one is just dudes getting interviewed about gameplay and how they planned on making this thing work and what inspired them to do this and that.
I might believe you if he didn't also happen to make GoW 2, which was great. They made GoW3 without him and it was quite a step down
Not like he worked on it alone. Was he also a whiny bitch on GoW2?
More cinematic garbage, lol
We need a Barlog edit.
He was lead game director, lead designer, and writer for it. Jaffe stepped down as game director and became creative director for GOW2. Also Jaffe's GOW1 is half the game GOW2 is. It's especially ruined by all the moronic platforming segments.
They are both Chad. Cory is the best Western game director working
get outta here Cory
Based and redpilled.
GoW is unironically a (flawed) masterpiece, if only it was fair-harder and had a more open world and more side-quests it would be perfect
Hello Cory, whats your favorite onions flavor?
Onion Rings
i just love that they have so much footage of the actual development. They already knew they were gonna make a documentary about their DRAMATIC STRUGGLES lmao
>dude, I added a beard and made Kratos not an absolute thundering asshole, tryhard, Gary-Stu.
It's not hard to add character to one that had pretty much none outside of, betrayed, me mad.
>DRAMATIC STRUGGLES
This is the biggest load of bullshit in this whole thing. They're acting like its some fucking underdog story. THEY WERE GIVEN BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, A FUCK HUGE MARKETING BUDGET AND WERE MAKING THE SAFEST SEQUEL EVER. If that shit's an underdog story I must be the most successful playboy in the world with a harem of over 1000 beautiful women. Last I checked, I'm not.
Nearly finished, am enjoying this.
Game development seems fucked. Imagine spending 3+ years on a single project and having hundreds of people reliant on it's success.
Cory seems like a bit of a manchild who's trying too hard though.
It's a fucking marketing trick you tool
Woldn't she have to be overaged to be a police officer?
>ruining kratos
How do you get one of these producer roles?
Actually making shit looks like a shit job, job organising the shitshow looks somewhat interesting.
>making our video game was so deep and meaningful bro
Too bad the combat and leveling systems weren't deep or meaningful.
yikes
so much onions
jesus christ, its just a video game, calm the fuck down
>writing something creative out of your own experiences is unoriginal.
I'm not a huge fan of this soiboi but you sound stupid, user.
I legit don't get this, nuGoW is a good game but calm the fuck down, it's not revolutionary or anything
I'd watch it if it was about Nier, or Cuphead, or something with an interesting creative process.
>Cuphead
Now that I would love to see
>get massive funding, tons of staff, and years of dev time
>game is bland oscar bait on a console with a massive installbase, so it would sell regardless
>act like it was some creative struggle with a really limited development environment
>meanwhile devs that actually have to put up with external factors constantly fucking things up don't say anything
This triggers me a lot.
>the "Raising Kratos" thing is trying to act like there was a bunch of tension and drama in making the game
>act like
t.workless slob who has never had to make personal sacrifices for a career oriented project
Fucking explain to me whats so fucking special about this game?
>ITT: Faggots who didn't watch the movie yet still projected their own headcanon of what it contains
It literally just shows how they felt in the development process and their reaction to the critical and commercial acclaim. How can you be this insecure LMAO!
Sounds like shit.
What the fuck is wrong with these dumb cunts widening out their eyes like that and raising their eyebrows to the max?
No it doesn't make them seem any better in any sort of way, it just makes them look like fucking retards.
When your game is GOTY and praised like that by several people i think is a bit justified to treat it like that, even if it feels that you have your head way up your ass
Mem shouldn't emote in general, its cringe af seeing eyebrow raises or deadpan stares and head tilts irl
Nice way to spell Dan Houser
Spoken like a true retard who never made anything worth a damn. They took a massive gamble with GOW4 and it paid off despite the doubts every had from day 1 of development that continued to echo after the reveal
>Rated E for Estrogen
>their reaction to the critical and commercial acclaim
So it is just self masturbatory vid for GOW2018 circlejerkers.
this so fucking dishonest. They selectively picked all the "MUH FEELS" moments. The crunch for this game was actually rivaling RDR2's. That, of course, isn't in this video at all.
Jesus, has Nintendo fellated themselves nearly as hard over BotW winning in 2017?
I remember when Bungie did the same thing for Halo 2, except then it wasn't self congratulatory wank since the entire development was a clusterfuck of a struggle and somehow came out pretty clean.
This masurbatory cockiness will bite Sony in the ass for sure.
word
no, but Nintendicklets still felate their microswitchlets to this day over that 5/10 tech demo
GOOOOOODS
This game wouldn't even existed without David Jaffe. What's funny about him is that he tried making new games and they all flopped. Now he's currently a Twitch streamer with barely over 55 viewers.
Ouch.
Holy shit that ass blasting from ashley
